Experiencia negativa: Hope you’re ok with your credit score dropping suddenly cuz they won’t let you pay your bill!!!! I bet I’ve called 100 times…. Gateway will use you for you weaknesses… please go somewhere else to get clean

Experiencia negativa: The employees here (most of them) are very nice. HOWEVER, there were some major things that should have been disclosed up front during the initial call to set this up BEFORE driving 2.5 hours to get over there. So let me help you out, 1.If you are on any type of controlled substance/narcotics PRESCRIBED BY YOUR PHYSICIAN AT HOME, NOPE, CAN'T BRING THOSE WITH YOU, AND THEY WON'T GIVE THEM TO YOU THERE EITHER. SECOND, IF YOU DRIVE YOURSELF THERE, THEY WILL GO THROUGH YOUR VEHICLE EXTREMELY THOU ROUGHLY, FOR "CONTRABAND". I HAD THREE CANS OF MACE PILFERED FROM MY CAR, WHICH THEY INITIALLY TOLD ME WAS OK TO HAVE IN THE CAR. what difference does it make, considering they also tell you when you get in there they're taking your car keys and moving your vehicle FOR YOU to their "secure locked location", so why is my damn mace an issue? 80 dollars in police grade mace, pilfered. But it's a gotcha, your vehicle is now on their property, so they can legally pretty much take anything they want they see as "contraband". Mace was not on the list of "contraband" they would search for. It's not classified legally as a "weapon". Somebody probably just wanted three cans of really high end mace to bring home. those were just the main bullet points besides a few other minor issues. I checked myself out after a day in a half, and even my doctor at home was very unhappy they tried to fiddle around with the medications he had in place, the same way, for over a decade. What I was in there for had NOTHING to do with prescription drug abuse, if my doctor wants me on controlled substances and other medications he feels are necessary, DON'T MESS AROUND WITH THEM.

Experiencia fantástica: I checked myself into gateway back in July 2023 I'm now almost at my 2 years sobriety. I also started my bachelors in psychology because I now know what I want to do with my life and my future. I want to work at gateway or any rehab facility for those struggling with alcohol and drugs. Matt the counselor at gateway really made a difference in why I stayed there and why I now have the confidence I have. He believed in me and his words still resonate with me today. The staff all around was the best really. They made me feel safe and made me feel special outside of my alcohol abuse.

Great counselors, great medical staff, and a clean, comfortable environment. They also have tons of resources for many services and sober living. They are also dual diagnosis so they can help with mental health. I would recommend them to everyone! Thanks Gateway for being a part of my journey!

If I didn’t go to gateway when I did and receive the care I did from the helpful souls that are there I can confidently say I would not be here today. Gateway and recovery sparked an interest in the mind and the human brain. Now learning the psychology of addiction and recovery which is easy since in gateway we already taught about all of this in detail. Gateway was and is Truley a gift. If you are struggling now. Experiencia fantástica: Gateway Foundation is the prime example of how a treatment facility should operate. The inpatient residential program is the most comfortable and refreshing program I have ever experienced; having been to 3 other treatment facilities in the past 6 years. The staff are amazing and very supportive; and the counselors are professional and very hands on with any help that you require in order to handle the outside world. The building is clean and the rooms are equipped with the necessities that make the stay very tolerable and enjoyable. You will spend a majority of time in groups that focus on: recovery, coping skills, mindfulness, relationships and you will get used to in-house 12 step meetings (AA/NA), so outside meetings are more comfortable. You will be provided the medicinal treatment needed to manage any mental health illness and are educated on them as well! 3 meals a day and if you are a smoker/chewer there are smoke breaks every other hour! The way Gateway guides you into a "regular routine" is extraordinary in order to route you onto the right path for when you are ready for the world outside! If you are ready and willing to change your life and get sober, this is the place to start!

I feel like this time I was really able to work on myself. Last year I didn’t really open up on some stuff with led to a relapse. This time though, I feel like I have all the tools necessary to deal with my addiction. Even gained 25 pounds. Loved the staff and all my G bros as well. 2 claps and a Ric Flair!!! Wooooo

At gateway you won’t just remain clean, but you will dig deeper and find better values and principles to better your life while staying sober. Experiencia fantástica: Amazing time and experience working the process Gateway has laid out. Staff is amazing to work with and deal with. You can tell that the staff doesn't work here solely for a paycheck. They are invested in the clients and their overall well being. Mental, physical and emotional. They care and it shows. The food is ok. It's not your everyday home cooked meal that you may prefer or be accustomed to but overall not bad. Like anywhere or anything else, there are things you may not like or agree with. Some rules seem absurd or ridiculous but they have them there for a reason and they serve a purpose. There is a structure that doesn't fit everyone once they get here. Some come from structure that it's easy to go along with. Some don't. The structure is there to help those in need of and help keep those who have structured lives running smoothly. Each group offers a little something different that helps everyone somehow, some way. You'll learn from others going through very similar situations. You'll learn that you're not alone out there and that there are lots of people out there going through the same thing and or feeling the same way you feel. If you make the choice to seek help or you have a family member or friend in need of help, I highly recommend Gateway to anyone. They're tried and proven. The hardest part is walking through the door. Once you do that and seek out what you're in need of, it's all down hill from there. The staff is amazing and I couldn't be happier with my decision to check in. I know in my heart it was the right decision to be made and I only look forward to my life outside of here. I feel so much better mentally and emotionally. Thank you Gateway staff. You are all amazing and I'm beyond grateful for everything you've done for me.

They give out interactive packets for better comprehension and so the information is always there for you to go back to. The staff are amazing and are very helpful. THe counselors there are great. I went to the Co-Ed unit and there, I found myself changing an insurmoutable amount. Thank you Gateway! I'll be coming back as a staff member in two years.

Experiencia fantástica: I needed a place to find refuge when I needed a reset. I was brought to Gateway foundation in Springfield. There I stayed for 35 days. I knew that 35 days wasn't enough so I was grateful for the people and staff for pointing me in the direction of extended treatment in Jacksonville. I was unsure of the choice I made but 3 months later here I am and I couldn't be doing better and couldn't be happier. I highly recommend everything about Gateway and what they have to offer. They saved my life and I am on my way to a much better life. If your thinking about going I recommend just doing it and taking it seriously and listening yo what they have to offer.

Experiencia positiva: I recently attended Gateway Foundation in Pekin Illinois, unfortunately this district of the program was closed shortly before my successful discharge. To me and those that still struggle with addiction, it was devastating to hear. This program is so essential to those that seek recovery. I know many people that also attended the Pekin program, that now live sober successful lives. The counselors are absolutely amazing, especially Ketra and Crystal. They actually care about each individual. And went above and beyond for their clients. Because of these phenomenal ladies I now carry the skill set and confidence to continue my life of sobriety even after treatment. I'm forever grateful for this program and my counselors that helped changed my life for the better, for not only me but for my daughters!

Experiencia fantástica: I am so very much thankful for Gateway in Springfield. This inpatient program has saved not only saved my life, it has saved my family. The staff is amazing. Magda my primary counselor, gave me one on one sessions. She also scheduled family sessions, and zoom calls. She has been the only counselor, that was persistent in getting me to open up and face the traumas in my life. She is a power house of knowledge. She is patient, fair, and always called me out on my BS. She helped me work on myself, and showed me how to LOVE MYSELF. All of the staff is amazing, always willing to help. They are very observent and will take time to pull you aside if they see you upset and struggling. The facility is clean, welcoming, and the food is decent. I also want to give a shout out to T, he is awesome at his job!! He has helped me in many ways, just by listening to me when I was upset. I never felt judged, out of place, or unwelcome. I extremely encourage anyone struggling with this DISEASE of ADDICTION to pick up the phone and make that call to Gateway. This program has literally saved my life!!!

Experiencia negativa: If it worked they would offer more outpatient than just telling you to come back. Some of us have homes and jobs and pets and we cant just keep picking up and leaving when their " scienced based" therapy doesnt work when we go back home. Cant just keep living in rehab for God's sake but obviously need help that they cant give. The only answer I got back from them was go back to rehab.

Experiencia negativa: Having been a client of Gateway Springfield's residential program a number of times over the past 10 years, I have never had disciplinary action taken against me. Until now. I was unsuccessfully discharged from their program when I attempted to file a complaint/grievance against one of floor level staff for being verbally/spiritually abusive towards other clients(he refused to give another client their religious texts) and threatening my physical safety(he threatened to lock me outside in sub-freezing temperatures at close to 10 PM). This same staff member had previously locked me and another client outside as we were walking back in from a smoke break. This was the Friday night before last, so after banging on the side door we went out of to smoke and receiving no response, we walked around to the main entrance, where there was no staff member on duty(understandably- Friday night.) We were eventually let back in and onto the unit without a search. While we acted in good faith, not all clients would necessarily do so and may have brought drugs or weapons into the building, our absence having been apparently unnoticed until we were let back in by a chance staff member passing by. I was promised a follow up by the clinical supervisor that never materialized. After speaking with the Activities Director and Program Director, who were both dismissive and rude - interrupting me numerous times before I could even get a complete word out, they discharged me unsuccessfully. Despite what they claim, they absolutely will take retaliatory action against any client that attempts to report neglect and/or abuse. Go here if you need to, but don't expect to be safe.

Experiencia fantástica: Gateway foundation residential program without a doubt helped me in so many aspects of my life that prior to treatment I never would have thought possible. I was in a relapse that was pushing seven years and along the way and alone with my addictive addiction I was just barely surviving. I gave my family away, my home was burned down, I lost three vehicles, all my identification, all my savings, my HVAC and solar business, my health both physical and mental almost all my earthly possessions. Gateway staff is fantastic, caring, experienced and knowledgeable. I had untreated mental health issues in addition to addiction. They treated both successfully and at the same time. I learned how to love myself again, how to cope and identify triggers, I learned a lot about who I really am. Group sessions were phenomenal and so was one on one care.

Experiencia fantástica: Came to Gateway on 7/9/21 struggling from methamphetamine use. Staff was amazing and very aware of my needs. After completing impatient treatment I was giving the opportunity to continue my treatment in Jacksonville IL at the recovery home. The staff there are definitely willing to go above and beyond for the clients. Really have a second chance to live again. I'm employable again and most importantly I'm not homeless now. Thank you to all gateway staff who helped me live again.

Experiencia fantástica: I'm grateful for the time I spent at Gateway from my intake and detox to my graduation. The nurses were knowledgeable and friendly, always being able to answer any questions I would have. My counselor was good to tell me what I needed to hear and was helpful with my exit strategy. And the staff was always there to help with whatever they could and were relatable with the life experiences they had been through. My time was well occupied without feeling overwhelmed and I left with the tools I needed to further my recovery in my next chapter of life.

Experiencia positiva: My experience with Gateway was pretty incredible. The staff is without exception caring, diligent and attentive. They are also very astute at determining whether a client is on track or needs to be helped with a troublesome situation. My only real disappointment was in relation to the meals. The food was okay but there seems to be a problem with serving it hot. When our unit was the last one to eat the food was never warm enough and due to a scheduling change the best meal of my entire stay was breakfast on my last day.

Experiencia negativa: My husband's keys were lost by staff. We both called repeatedly for the next several days and it was extremely difficult to get anyone on the phone or have our calls returned. The only people who seemed to care or try to help us were Mary and James. After we were told that there was nowhere left to look, we had no choice but to replace them as we didn't have a spare. Since the car has a push button start, it cost over $400 to have the car towed and get a new key fob. I received a call today (12 days after he left) to tell me that they found the keys in a random bag while cleaning. Someone else from Gateway called my husband today to let him know that he owes them $9 for a prescription. Speaking of prescriptions, they lost one that he brought in and disposed of another while he was there without telling him they were going to do so. I would caution anyone going to Gateway to arrive with absolutely nothing of value and make sure you/your family don't need to talk to any staff by phone because they're rarely available.

Experiencia fantástica: This is Kolter Melvin, I have completed the inpatient program on triumph in 30 days. Ravi Doshi was my counselor during this time, in which saved me and my family. He was more than amazing and I was able to trust him from the start. We broke down every issue with my past and my disease. He is by far the best counselor in the building, super intelligent in this field. By a long shot, the best at what he does. The most genuine guy I have ever met. Heart of gold with an amazing soul who cares deeply about his everyday work. I love you V!

He is genuine and sincere in his approach and the relationships he establishes with everyone - his assigned clients, others in the program not specifically assigned to him, Gateway staff and personnel. I've witnessed former clients who continue to reach out to him. As I had no idea what to expect by making the decision to accept treatment, he went beyond the intended focus of the program and helped me uncover underlying issues which will give me the tools to live a more fulfilled life. Lastly, he is very knowledgeable on many subjects; he knows what he's talking about - his learnings have come from personal experience, formal training and pure interest in the subject matter - excellent presenter! He loves what he does and it shows... a huge "thank you" to Ravi for helping me get through this!

My health was failing and it came to a point where I knew there was only direction I was headed and the result would not have been good. Gateway Foundation may have very well saved my life or someone else’s. If you are reading this and you or a loved one are in a similar situation as I was, know that GF is a safe place where I received the best of care. From intake, detox, admission to graduation you will get the best medical and counciling services. Don’t wait like I did. Experiencia fantástica: I had a life changing experience just over one year ago. i was treated with respect and care and a focus on my personal situation. Ravi or "v" was amazing at helping me identify and address underlying reasons for my alcohol addiction. Medication helped as a bridge but off everything now healthy and happy. Made close friends in my 28 day stay with whom i am still in contact. Counselors overall were great (with one exception but nothing is perfect) and besides V a shout out to Matt, Big Matt, Maggie, Jamie and all the crew in Triumph and my outpatient counselors as well. I am one year sober. Great program but too succeed one must embrace it and accept it is a lifetime thing not just a pause in the action. Many thanks!

I have been to five other counselors prior to coming here. Finding the help I received here was exactly what I needed. I am so glad I made the decision to come to gateway. The staff were very understanding and friendly. I did the program back in the 90's and everything they taught me is still with me to this day! If a person is in trouble with addiction. Experiencia fantástica: Gateway in both Springfield and Jacksonville have been nothing but fantastic. It definitely shows when you can work with staff members, counselors, and coaches whom you know have walked down the same road as you have. Accommodations are also very nice. I feel that the rooms are set up more like a hotel room. It has a comfortable and inviting feel. If you want to get sober this is the place to do it. Everything here exceeds my expectations on a daily basis.

Experiencia fantástica: I thought I knew it all the 1st 2 times i went to treatment ,but when I went the 3rd time which was 8/27/20 I decided to stay long term and go to the Recovery Home . And really pay attention to the Counselors, Staff, & Recovery coaches, I wanted to have the passion and care they had for their Clients . I motivated my peers never tore anyone down always lifted them up & became a house leader, I always pushed positivity and influence everybody to take our alcoholism & addiction Seriously. Because it’s a matter of life or death.
