Experiencia fantástica: 7 weeks ago I underwent a total knee replacement of my left knee. My surgeon sent me to Active Therapy Group in Waco, TX for rehab. Within 2 weeks I was walking without even a cane. I believe every therapist in this group (Ryan, Haley, Tyler, and Erika) worked with me over the course of 7 weeks. Today I can walk as far I want to without any difficulty. These people are all fantastic! What you want in a therapist is someone that will push you while also understanding and having compassion for what you are going through. I have been to other physical therapy clinics in the past and I saw the same person every time and did the same routine. Not here. They all join in to discuss what is best for your particular situation. There is no set routine. As you progress so does your therapy. They will give you a full hour (or more) of therapy and I never had to wait to get started. When I walked in the door I was always greeted by the entire staff by name. You won't get that at many other places. Physical therapy is not easy, but these people are what is going to get you back to where you want to be. They are very positive and highly educated (check out their website). This is a great place with great people. Thanks to you all!

Experiencia fantástica: I have been having therapy sessions here twice a week since early Jan. and was released today to continue doing exercises at home now. I received really good help from Joyce and Amanda helping me to get movement with my wrist that I broke just a week before Christmas. I recommend Active Sports Physical Therapy to anyone that needs help. Everyone there has been very understanding, helpful, and kind to me.

Experiencia fantástica: I fully dislocated my ankle in May of 2021 in a rock-climbing incident. I was still experiencing pain walking around trying to get to my classes at Baylor in August. I came into Active Sports Physical Therapy in September trying to get my ankle back in shape to be able to go enjoy rock climbing and other activities again. I was initially working with Erika on my ankle. She did a fantastic job helping me in the initial phases of getting mobility and basic strength back into my ankle, which played a big role in helping me walk again without pain within 3 weeks of my first visit. Soon after, I also began working with Ryan who was just as amazing as Erika. They often teamed up and collaborated on what to do to best help me on my journey. It was a great feeling to have a team of people gameplan for my specific issues while I was gone in preparation for my next session. I felt comfortable and confident as they were able to clearly explain to me what was causing an issue for my ankle, as well as how the exercises I was performing were targeting it. The treatment I got was tailored to my personal issues and goals. I loved that everything I did during my session revolved around a specific issue I was having or performing sport specific movements and exercises that directly translated to my sport. The staff here are wonderful. I always laughed when I went in, and you can tell they are very close. They are fun, energetic, knowledgeable, and personable. Even Crystal, who works at the front desk, was friendly and would joke and chat with me before and after my sessions. It was always a bright spot during my week to go in and know I was working towards getting back to living the life I wanted, as well as visiting all the wonderful people I got to work with. With their help, I was able to take a climbing trip to Arkansas in November with my ankle fully recovered and climbing better than I had before my accident. Thank you Erika, Ryan, Matt, and Crystal!

Experiencia fantástica: I had total knee replacement and came here for rehab. The atmosphere is positive and encouraging. At my two and a half month appointment my surgeon said my knee was better than most due to my flexibility and minimal swelling. I know this is due to the hard work Ryan, Haley and Matt had me do! They are extremely knowledgeable, very professional, and truly dedicated to helping their patients achieve success throughout the therapy process. Experiencia fantástica: Outstanding care! Worked with Joyce for therapy on my hand after surgery. As a surgeon myself, I can't say enough how impressed I was with Joyce's care and interest in my recovery from surgery being successful. I joked that I felt she was perhaps more interested in my hand than I was, which is saying a lot coming from a surgeon. Waco is lucky to have such an experienced and caring occupational therapist. Thank you Joyce! Also major props to Kristal who works their front desk. Very friendly and accommodating in getting scheduled as well as juggling schedules when weather or COVID interferes.

Ryan was my therapist and I couldn't ask for a more caring, compassionate, hard driving and considerate therapist to work with. The entire staff at Active Sports is like a big family and they all welcomed me into this happy, caring atmosphere. I highly recommend Active Sports Physical Therapy if you need rehab. Experiencia fantástica: Atmosphere so serine and fun. They become family at your first appointment. Active therapy group keeps you going through all the pain and are so patient and encouraging and you don’t have to worry about doing your therapy the wrong way bc the moment your exercise is incorrect it’s fixed and your doing it correctly. I had a hard time understanding the way to do my therapy and Haley just stayed positive and calm and kept me going. I was in a dark place after my accident I broke both feet and and just felt as tho the world was ending because my feet to me are my life I love outdoors but when I had to finally do physical therapy Haley and all the other trainers just made it magical they do not stop cut you short or make you feel like physical therapy isn’t worth it every time I leave from active therapy group my feet feel amazing from all the work they put into it and for myself I feel like rocky balboa at the top of the stairs. So when you come here pick Haley (she’s the best) I mean everyone is amazing and fun you can be yourself here it’s not just work it’s a healing feeling they all give you. Now let’s talk about when you first walk in how homey Miss. Kristal and Miss. Lavon make you feel. I started the day after my birthday and as soon as I walked in they all yelled happy birthday to me. How amazing!! And laaaadies you get to stare at Tyler and Ryan mmmmmhmmmm Trainers that work so hard and are so opened to talk to I didn’t train with them because again I had Haley the best in the whole world!!. I could keep going about active therapy group and again how amazing these kind people are just know when you come here you won’t have any regrets and I promise you you’ll try to find other things to do here just to be here!

Experiencia fantástica: LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT ACTIVE THERAPY GROUP. If you go somewhere else I feel sorry for you. They are awesome period!!! In all seriousness, the staff is hands down the most family/team oriented group of people I’ve ever seen in a office setting. The moment I walked in the door, it was like I had already been in and coming for awhile. They made it a very comfortable environment as a whole. I was trained by Tyler, and I could not have been more pleased with everything. You can tell they have a serious passion for what they do and take it very serious, and if you have a sense of humor they can keep up as well.

Her therapy SIGNIFICANTLY contributed to my post-surgery recovery so that nine weeks out, my swelling is gone, and motion is progressing very well. I could not ask for more. I highly, highly recommend Joyce for her complete knowledge of all my questions about motion and giving me reasonable, challenging, and effective exercises to help my broken arm at every stage. She crafted a well-fitting brace and made adjustments for comfort as my swelling went down. She also demonstrated massage technique to teach me how to deal with sensitive scar tissue at the surgery incision site. Joyce Stephens is truly a gifted therapist.

Experiencia fantástica: When I first arrived here, I was unable to move my thumb at all after my surgery. However, with the help of Dr.Stephens (Joyce), I was back in full range of motion after 2 and a half months. Dr.Joyce is one of the most interactive and kindest physical therapist I've worked with. As a student who lived out of state, she made me feel comfortable and welcomed here in Waco. Even though my thumb my be fully healed, I will definitely return to Active sports just to visit Dr.Stephens!

Experiencia fantástica: I suffered very bad pain in my left hand and arm.I was sent by Dr. Goodnight from Waco orthopedic to Active Sports Physical Therapy for treatment. Joyce Stephens who was the therapist who treated me 20 yrs ago for my cut pinky which i cut in my power saw. Her and Dr Goodnight saved my finger. It was a great reunion with a very beautiful lady, it was also special being back with her again. I now have no pain, and now i can hug those beautiful ladies again. Joyce it was great being with you. I still remember her stern words __do not move your finger.__

Experiencia fantástica: I was referred here for Occupational Therapy from my hand/plastic surgeon, following a fracture injury to a finger. Joyce really knows her stuff and has lots of experience. Joyce pushes her clients out I heal and regain function, and took great care of my scar following surgery as well. I felt well taken care of and that my care was individualized. I would not have been able to make the progress I did without the help of this office!
