Experiencia fantástica: Due to a major gastrointestinal episode, I was incapacitated for 2 months and could barely move when I came home. Level Up helped me to regain my strength in a positive, encouraging environment. Highly recommend especially for pelvic floor issues.

The space is sunny and cheerful in a calming way. Dr. Danny has now moved into my top spot for Healthcare providers. He listens, is empathetic, curious, knowledgable, and creative. He has an understanding of ME/CFS and Long Covid and incorporates the unique needs and challenges of these chronic conditions into treatment plans so deftly (a rare experience for me as a patient!) . I feel supported here, rather than pushed, all while gaining strength and healing. If you have need and the chance to receive care here, take that opportunity!

Experiencia fantástica: The two therapists I worked with, Kristin and Alex, provided excellent care and guidance to help me recover from knee replacement surgery. The hands-on work was always great in addition to the home exercise program they developed. They spent adequate amounts of time with me at appointments and made sure I was able to continue therapy until I had significant improvement.

Experiencia fantástica: Super impressed with Dr. Jeff South. Having seen several physical therapists and Chiropractors he really stands out. He has so many thoughts about my injury that sometimes it feels like he cares about it more than even I do. What really blew me away is that the instructional videos he sends post session are filmed by him of himself doing the motions and talking about things you went over together. I haven't encountered that level of care anywhere else I go. Usually exercises are generated by an app, videos are generic ones linked from youtube and the PT is about 50% present during sessions. Jeff does a much better job than anywhere else I have been.

Dr. Jocelyn helped me deal with stubborn scar tissue and mobility issues. She did a lot of manual work on the scar tissue, and she helped me develop a stretching and strengthening program to do at home. I can’t say enough good things about my experience—I really appreciated Dr. Jocelyn’s knowledge, skill, and especially her kindness. She was such a pleasure to work with, and I was really happy with the improvement I made under her care. Everyone else at the practice was great to work with too. I’m grateful for them!

Experiencia fantástica: Getting physical therapy at Level Up Wellness has been transformative to my breast cancer recovery after having a double mastectomy. While Level Up was recommended by a friend, another women's healthcare practitioner, and my breast cancer surgeon, I researched other options in hopes of finding an in-network provider. The oncology nurse assigned to my case at my insurance company strongly recommended Level Up after evaluating several dozen practitioners in the Bay Area. She said the expertise at Level Up was unparalleled and if I was going to invest in out-of-network care this would be the most meaningful and absolutely worth it. She was so right! I had the great fortune of working with Dr Hilary, and through her care I have developed strength, flexibility, and confidence. She's been able to answer the thousand little questions that have come up through my journey with deep knowledge and empathy. That trusted perspective has been a huge part of my physical and emotional healing. As a person, Hilary is professional and so lovely -- from the first few minutes I felt at ease. Her experience and intuitive abilities enabled me to relax as she addressed this tender and delicate area. I also truly enjoyed my conversations in our sessions. Dr Hilary and the Level Up team are authentic, present, and talented. The office is a clean, welcoming space -- truly inclusive and warm. I cannot recommend Level Up Wellness more highly. Dr Hilary is incredible and the entire practice embodies healing and care.

Experiencia fantástica: I was referred by my current oncology NP to Dr. Jocelyn to work on scar tissue from my lumpectomy/radiation experience 10+ years ago---I only wish I was referred back then or sooner! Dr. Jocelyn is very skilled in this care, & I've walked away with some self-care practices. At the same time, I've had a chronic shoulder issue on that side, that seems to be partially related to the scar tissue. Again, Dr. Jocelyn was very skilled in listening & ascertaining where the problems were, and particularly in recommending a wide variety of exercises & suggestions to mitgate the problem. Her gentle knowledgeable clear approach brought results. (I've not had good experiences with PT in the past, but this was certainly a game-changer!).

Experiencia fantástica: Level Up Wellness and PT is an amazing resource! I did pre-hab before mastectomy surgery and re-hab after surgery with Hilary. I was able to stay strong---and also to address any issues like cording before they got established. I wish everyone going through mastectomy could be prescribed this support and have it covered by insurance! I was also able to benefit from a few pelvic floor "tune-up" sessions with Chelsea which healed stress incontinence that had been a nuisance since giving birth decades before. Again, I wish every birthing mom could have pelvic PT as a given and have it covered by insurance! Alex helped me before and after a knee surgery and was attentive and skilled in helping me develop the muscles I need to keep strain from continuing to damage my knees. I am so grateful we have this resource in our community. Run, don't walk to Level Up; the practitioners are caring and talented and their "can-do" philosophy of asking you what you want to do and finding the way to get your body there is priceless!

Experiencia fantástica: As a avid cyclist I have had long term pelvic pain, numbness and other urology issues. Based on my searches, I thought it having BPH, and so I got my prostate checked out. My urologist didn't find any significant prostate issues and recommended that I try pelvic floor physical therapy before we go further. So I searched the web to learn more about this kind of therapy .... and I was a little nervous at first to try it! I mean its such a sensitive area to have somebody work on. But I was relieved to meet Dr. Kristin and Alex. They have been so great to work with, they put my concerns at ease about shyness "down there" and I am excited to say learning so much about more my body! I am about halfway through my series of treatments and I feel good. I am truly hopeful that I will have long lasting relief from these pelvic floor area issues. I highly recommend Dr. Kirstin. Especially if you are a man who's hesitant to address the pelvic floor. Im glad I took a chance in this therapy.

Experiencia fantástica: My plastic surgeon recommended Level Up Wellness for PT after a unilateral mastectomy and I am so glad they did. Dr. Jocelyn helped me recover from that as well as made sure I was well prepared for my breast reconstruction surgery. I'm back working with her now and I couldn't be happier. Dr. Jocelyn is knowledgeable and skilled as well as a good listener. I really appreciate that I have been able to talk with her about what I have been going through with breast cancer and treatment for that. Because of her experience she can give me insight and ideas about what I can expect in my journey to getting back physically to where I was before my diagnosis. I know I am in good hands.

Experiencia fantástica: I love Level Up! I've been seeing Dr. Jocelyn as I prepare for labor & delivery and will continue seeing her for postpartum recovery. I scheduled a consult at 28 weeks pregnant thinking I might come back just a few times, but it's been so useful that I'm still going 6 weeks later. Her approach is very accessible, she's excellent at explaining what we're doing and why, and there are easy-to-follow videos for practice at home. It's a really relaxing hour of my week to come in and have this kind of support. The rest of the clinic staff are also great, super responsive, and make scheduling easy. Highly recommend!

Experiencia fantástica: Highest rating possible. Gentlemen, if you are getting up more than twice a night to pee, consider going to a urologist and then pelvic floor physical therapy. I knew nothing about this specialty and I am very happy that I found Dr. Chelsea and her staff. At this clinic you will find deep knowledge and compassion. I am halfway through our planned therapy and I am making good progress. It is such a relief to know that something can be done about nocturia besides surgery.

They are super knowledgeable and excellent at explaining and modifying their treatment. They offer stellar trauma-informed care that should be part of everyone’s prenatal and postpartum care plans. Experiencia fantástica: I highly recommend LevelUp for Physical Therapy for post mastectomy support. Every touch point with the office is filled with professionalism, efficiency and care. And more importantly, their practitioners are excellent. I look forward to seeing Dr. Hillary each visit because she combines her incredible experience with a gentle approach and an amazing sense of humor. Recovering from a 2x mastectomy can be hard on a physical and emotional level and she is there to teach you how strong you can become at the right pace. I feel she is a tremendous physical therapist and feel lucky she chose to focus on this particular area of women’s health.

Experiencia positiva: At the time of my review, I was still getting weekly therapy session and close to approaching one year of visits. LUW offers a few services, my review is based on post mastectomy PT to improve, i.e., break down narcosis after initial and follow-up surgeries. My plastic surgeon gave me a list of approximately seven offices to contact without rating each office. I did my due diligence in contacting each. The reason I chose LUW is primarily due to Nicole. You’ll meet her…and you’ll understand! When I called I didn’t even leave a message, but she saw the missed call and reached out to me. She was understanding, and compassionate. She understood what I was going through, what I needed, and how to match me with the right therapist. (Beware of offices that feel any therapist will be able to provide the right care for tissue reconstruction mastectomies.) Above all, Nicole was patient. Why I stay: besides the very persistent narcosis that has improved, I think Dr. Hilary is awesome. She’s awesome because she understands the body and how to provide the therapy needed for recovery. She and the other amazing therapist the LUW has specialized in an area and are great at what they do. I only see Dr. Hilary, however, I’ve met them all and they are a dynamic team! Each time I visit the office I feel like I’m visiting good; fun friends. I’ve usually been apprehensive about PT, and had this been my first experience with PT, I would have easily given it more value from the onset. The therapists at LUW, are dealing with sensitive matters, and in my experience make it so very comfortable to have the straightforward conversation. Eventually I won’t need the therapy and that’s a good thing, but guaranteed, I will miss my visits. So, I’ve raved about LUW, yet only a 4-star review. They don’t accept insurance and it’s paid street parking (which isn’t too bad).

She really cares and is one of the best in the field of physical therapy rehabilitation. Level Up has a fantastic rehab room with various types of equipment. Nicole at the front desk is friendly, efficient and makes scheduling easy. The newly renovated suite on Grand Ave is beautiful. I highly recommend this practice for PT, especially for anyone suffering physical side affects from breast cancer surgery or radiation.

Experiencia fantástica: I couldn't recommend Hilary's breast cancer PT services enough. I was referred to Hilary shortly after my mastectomy - both my oncologist and surgeon highly recommended her. I was worried about losing some mobility and because I had a bunch of lymph nodes removed, I was worried about developing lymphedema. Hilary's a unique blend of professional, highly skilled, and warm and fuzzy. Which was exactly what I needed, the whole cancer diagnosis and lymph node removal had really rattled me and left me a bit unmoored. I felt immediately welcomed and nurtured from the moment I entered the office (shout out to Nicole!). The sessions with Hilary were really grounding, and the lymph massages honestly felt like self-care, re-integrating and welcoming my arm and chest back into the rest of my body. When I started, I was really nervous that my arms would never look related again, or at best like distant cousins. But after months of PT with Hilary, they look like siblings again! In terms of the workouts, it was mentally a bit hard for me resetting to my new baseline. But the exercises she prescribed seemed very thoughtfully introduced and paced, I felt very safe building up some strength and mobility. I’d highly recommend Hilary to any human recovering from chest surgery or anyone dealing with lymphedema.

Experiencia fantástica: After surgeries, weeks of chemo and radiation, I thought breast cancer recovery was almost over. Not so. A year later the effects of radiation and lymphedema related to removal of lymph nodes had become so severe it needed to be addressed. My surgeon recommended physical therapy and that is how I met Hilary Nakoa. She began treatments for the swelling, muscle constriction, implant discomfort and over several months made it possible for me to exercise without severe pain and be comfortable in regular clothing again. I continue to work with her to keep the side effects of cancer treatment manageable. Hilary has taught me strategies and exercises that have made it possible for me to be comfortable engaging ir normal activities. I wish more cancer specialists would recognize the need for physical therapy and suggest it to patients.

Experiencia fantástica: Kristin has been absolutely phenomenal in helping me during my pregnancy - she really has a great bedside manner and makes you feel really comfortable, and is amazingly thorough, always remembering what’s been going on with your body, and working from there. She’s also a great educator, so you always know what exactly is happening in your body. I really couldn’t even imagine how awful the pain from the pregnancy would be without Kristin!

She worked with me after my mastectomy and provided a variety of different exercises that helped with my recovery and increase my strength. She was also very flexible and developed a routine using my own equipment, so I could do my exercises at home. She is professional, knowledgeable and an overall nice person.

I'm so thankful I found Level Up and specifically my therapist Chelsea. My initial meeting with Chelsea was the first time I had felt really hopeful about my issue since it had begun several months before. She listened so carefully and supportively, and every piece of information I shared was treated as important and valuable. I think it's pretty normal to feel some nervousness about the personal nature of this work, but Chelsea's kind and informed presence immediately made it so easy to trust her and the process. I actually really look forward to my sessions because they are time focused just on me and my wellness. Far from a one-size-fits-all treatment, Chelsea works with your specific body and its patterns, finding the next step to move you forward. I'm seeing significant improvement so I will not always get to see Chelsea every week, but I know that I'll be taking the lessons learned at Level Up into my awareness for a lifetime!

Experiencia fantástica: Chelsea was so so helpful to me when I was pregnant and continues to be postpartum, and I'm so grateful I found her. I went to her for help when all of a sudden, 7 months into my pregnancy, I could no longer walk without pain. Chelsea helped me figure out what exactly was happening in a holistic and evidence-based way. After trying acupuncture, chiropractic, and massage, she was the one who finally helped me get real relief. She's an excellent teacher and communicator, and she taught me that just because birthing people can adapt to the pain and limitations pregnancy brings, it doesn't mean they should have to, or that things can't be better. Highly recommend.

I've worked with several physical therapists over the last 15 years, but never felt that I made progress with my issues until I met Chelsea. Chelsea's commitment to her patient's progress goes above and beyond. During the course of my treatment, I experienced an unrelated injury but Chelsea was able to pivot our work to address it. I initially thought I would need surgery to address the injury, but Chelsea set up a simple routine that got me back on track in a couple of weeks. I still rely on this routine to keep my back problems at bay.

She always left me with a good list of exercises to do on my own, which she adjusted as I progressed in my healing. If some movement wasn't working for me, she found an alternative exercise. She also did some massage with loosened my my joint and felt great. Kristin is also so kind and understanding. It was always a pleasure to work with her. I highly recommend her.
