Drake Center: Opiniones
Experiencia fantástica: Stellar job
Experiencia fantástica: I worked with Jonathan and he was very helpful and kind and provided me with lots of exercises, tools, and processes to help me work through my concussion symptoms.
Experiencia fantástica: they got my mom off the vent when no other hospital said they could they gave her the best care of all the hospitals she was at and i have great love for them for help they have showed my mom if you are your family are critically ill they are your best hope thank you so much
Experiencia fantástica: I like how they make you set goals and help you reach your goals. Therapy ia great to work with!
Experiencia fantástica: I go to UC health cardiopulmonary rehab at west chester uc. This department, lead by Sharon, is definitely a five star facility. Excellent in every area.
Experiencia fantástica: Wonderful , patience kind, and understanding . Thanks to Jonathan.
Experiencia fantástica: My aquatic and land physical therapy experience was excellent! The therapists and lifeguards were so helpful and caring. I highly recommend the Drake Hospital Spine and orthopedic center for any joint and pain issues you may have.
Experiencia fantástica: Awesome therapists! Very knowledgeable and helped me through post-op knee replacement.
Experiencia fantástica: I was a little surprised at first to find out the appointments were only 30 minutes, but it all worked out. All the therapists gave me helpful exercises to work on my problem area. I worked with Jonathan the most, and he gave me copies of some great exercises to do at home and my shoulder was feeling much better when I completed my PT.
Experiencia fantástica: Drake hospital is cheerful. The employees are lovely, considerate people. The food is good. I got the beat night sleep in over a month. The therapy is excellent, they cover everything- things I need to do at home. They allow you get up and move, got to the bathroom. But they may go with you to make sure you’re okay. If I were to be sick again I would come here.
Experiencia fantástica: Overall the care has been excellent. A bit of background: My husband had a stroke fall of 2021. He had extraordinarily poor care in ICU at a Mercy facility. So poor that he nearly died multiple times without my intervention. He had surgery that was unnecessary that we are still trying to correct after 12 subsequent surgeries. After ICU, we ended up at an LTAC within a TriHealth facility. It was marginally better (not in bedside care, which was abominable, but that he could see his good physicians to correct a lot of the issues from Mercy). At that time, he was too medically complex and a danger to return to ICU for me to feel comfortable sending him to Drake Center. He had some complications that weren’t resolved enough for me to feel comfortable sending him to Drake. After a couple of weeks and a few surgeries resolving some of the complications from stroke at Good Sam, we moved to chicago for him to be treated at Shirley Ryan AbilityLab (formerly rehabilitation institute of Chicago). We were there for 3 months. It is attached to Northwestern Memorial Hospital and directly across the street, so medical complications are swiftly taken to NMH. They also have a very intensive rehab, often more than the minimum of 3 hours per day. 5 months after stroke, he was medically stable enough and was able to stand and walk with a hemi Walker a max of 100 feet with the safety belt and therapist. He had regained some words. We were released and could go to Drake Center. Had he not had all of the medical complications after stroke, it’s my belief that he could have gone to Drake after the LTAC. He was a resident at Drake inpatient for 7 weeks. During that time, he had PT, OT, and Speech therapies 5-6 days a week for about 2-2.5 hours for each therapy day. He steadily improved and was able to walk with a quad cane 200 or so feet and had regained hundreds of words when we left. The care here was very compassionate. He was never left in waste or neglect. The therapists, nurses, and aids really cared about him and his progress. They also made some concessions for our family that were so greatly appreciated. After he was released from Drake 7 months after stroke, he came home to home care at first (2 months). Then we started Drake outpatient therapy - OT, PT, and speech 2 times per week. My husband slowly progressed and gained independence in many areas, like self care and cooking. The outpatient therapists also cared about him and his progress. The only critique I could offer would be to give the patient the full 45 minute session regardless of start time (often he was retrieved by the therapist after his scheduled start time but still finished at the originally scheduled end time). While I understand that one therapy session running over could derail a whole day in this case, perhaps small buffer times are needed to combat this in order to give every patient the full therapy session. While I can also express frustration that we were “graduated” from therapy too soon, that is a direct frustration to Anthem insurance company and not to Drake specifically. They did try to fight for my husband to keep his therapy. While I did ask about the super low ratings you see from some years ago (pre UC I believe), I was assured that it was not as it had been written. However I did hold judgment until I saw for myself the care they gave my husband. The therapists and sessions were just as good as Shirley Ryan. The issue is just the facility itself. It’s very old feeling and it does come off as dated and, well, grungy. But I’ll tell you right now that my husband was in a gleaming new icu that proceeded to nearly unalive him repeatedly, so gleaming new and shining is great, but I’d rather have staff who are good at their jobs and LISTEN to the advocate. I especially recommend outpatient speech therapists Sherry and Courtney and inpatient speech therapist Zach. Physical therapists inpatient - Stephanie I think (2 of them, maybe one was OT?) outpatient, Kathleen and Justin are wonderful. I appreciate each of them so much!
Experiencia fantástica: We've for CT scan. Very friendly and helpful gentleman.
Experiencia fantástica: My father stayed at Drake Center for over two weeks after a major surgery. He received excellent care from all the team and appreciated their professionalism, kindness and support in taking care of my dad.
Experiencia fantástica: OTherspy was very nice I Worked with a girl name Sarah she was very pleasant very helpful and pushed me in the right direction for recovery I thought that particular area was a great job.
Experiencia fantástica: The nursing and pca and the people work the front desk and physical therapy all the staff on 3 south...
Experiencia fantástica: The staff and nurses here go the extra mile taking care of you. Not just one person but the whole crew !! As I stated to my daughter’s “ they took care of my needs just like one of you “. The food has good flavor and portions. When you feel confident in the care and care givers , that peace of mind , as a patient, let’s you rest and heal much faster without undo stress or anxiety!! Will recommend Drake to anyone !!!
Experiencia fantástica: In November of 2020 my father was met with COVID. He went to the VA (that will be a different review) for his treatment. He obtained a trach, ventilator and required LTAC. I chose Drake. After such a horrible experience at a hospital my family came in with a chip and tried scrutinize, however we could not. He was cared for, up in a chair (which we had been asking for at the other place), therapy had been ordered, psych due to PTSD to assist with weaning (as we had asked for at the previous hospital). My father was weaned off the ventilator and home with therapy and oxygen within 40 days. (He was in VA over 40 without weaning success). They did not give up and kept pushing until we got him home. He is now back to riding his motorcycle, socializing with his friends and spending time with his family. I cannot thank them enough for not giving up as ill as he was, and as per the previous recommendations. Thank you from my family I.
Experiencia fantástica: My Grandmother was at Drake for rehabilitation. The therapy workers were exceptional as were the nurses and aides who took care of her. While she certainly didn't want to be at a nursing facility, she was very complimentary of the services that she received when I came to visit. I know that it's not an easy job to take care of people like my grandmother (who is in her 90's) but the folks at Drake were wonderful. Thank you!!!
Experiencia fantástica: My experience with care was terrific. Staff was helpful with care and additional needs. I would come back for care if ineeded to . Thank you Drake
Experiencia fantástica: I’ve been inDrske receiving physical therapy for a stroke for a couple months now and I have nothing but good things to say about the place! Physical and occupational therapy are top notch. I’m making great strides on a daily basis, I came to drske from another inpatient rehabilitation center and I can honestly say the therapy at drake is top notch. They push you just the right amount while still being friendly and personable. Because of thei therapists I have hope/faith that I will walk again!my only complaint during my stay was that response time after using call light was sometimes very slow. Howerver, that was the case at the previous facility as well so I don’t think that’s specific to drake at all.. Everyone was extremely nice and helpfult think occasionally they were short/ staffed and very busy, but overall, I am very happy with my care and have complete confidence in their therspy and stsff
Experiencia fantástica: My mom was transferred to the Drake SNF from University of Cincinnati Medical Center. At 98 years of age, she was understandably a bit overwhelmed with the circumstances of dealing with her sudden medical issues. The staff was nothing short of exceptional in getting her admitted and settled into her room. The therapy staff worked with her on a daily basis and, again, were exceptional in not only their patience but also their ability to motivate my mom. As a WWII nurse herself, it's rather impressive when she told me that the care was first rate. Our total experience was very positive. Many thanks to all the staff: nursing, therapy, housekeeping, dietary.
Experiencia fantástica: Dis is one of the best placed to get care at if u need it come to drake center see I'm young they the best yes they are
Experiencia fantástica: I am glad to share my experience with Drake Hospital, my first experience with Drake Hospital was in September 2019 I had surgery on my neck needless to say I was in quite a bit of pain but the staff made sure that my pain was minimal and that I appreciate very much. My second experience with Drake was for lower back surgery this Took Pl., February second 2020Needless to say I have the same pleasant experience from the staff from the nurses on down everybody has treated me with royalty I would recommend Drake Hospital to anyone seeking a good rehab. There is no slack they get you up and he get you out so hopefully this will be my last stint.
Experiencia fantástica: Awesome place and staff.....love the people best care in the city
Experiencia fantástica: I really like the services at drake overall excellent i would recommend drake to anyone
Experiencia fantástica: This has been a tough time in my life. I'm dealing with issues I never thought that I would need to deal with at my age. The daculity athere at the drake center have made my stay comfortable in every way possible. From the thereapy on my knee, both physically and occupatiialky gave me confidence that that I thought I could get through this. The nurses and staff at the desk havre been polite attentive and weent above and beyond ttheir duuty iht seemed at times. All in all my stsy was as bledsing and thank everyone for being here at my sid ThanksKevin
Experiencia fantástica: Excellent staff, very attentive. Remarkable facilities for OT/PT. Would recommend this as a fine Rehab facility.
Experiencia fantástica: The team on 2 North TCU was absolutely the best with my Sister who was there for several weeks. I didn't have any worry about her care. They deserve more stars but that wasn't an option. Great team.
Experiencia fantástica: My experience since I been here has been more comfortable then expected. Most of nursing staff were knowledgeable.
Experiencia fantástica: I went to Daniel Drake Center for post op rehab for total knee replacement. I have been here several times previously for all my post op care . I wouldn't go anywhere else for my care even though I live on the east side of town. My care team was professional caring efficient and proactive in my care. Everyone I came into contact with treated me courteously and with the utmost care and respect. And above all I felt safe.
Experiencia fantástica: Drake is a very good Hospital.
Experiencia fantástica: My daughter receives excellent care from this facility, and the staff is exceptional. They have the best prosthetic therapy. Wouldn't go anywhere else.
Experiencia fantástica: Doc Goddard is a great doctor, friendly staff also
Experiencia fantástica: My moms care after her stroke has been nothing but the best care given at drake from the dietitians and everyone in between up to the doctors. It's not the care that they give it's those families that don't support there loved one at a great time of need.
Experiencia fantástica: Physical therapy department is great!
Experiencia fantástica: Margaret Gilbert is a terrific physical therapist, very knowledgeable and caring
Experiencia fantástica: Amy conducted my occupational evaluation. It invoked lifting, walking, threading a rope through a fixed, elevated chain. It was about 25 percent about my past work (journalism) 20 percent manual dexterity and the rest was walking halls and climbing and descending stairs.
Experiencia fantástica: Aquatic therapy is amazing. I hope this works out
Experiencia fantástica: Friendly, helpful staff
Experiencia fantástica: Great atmosphere for recovery. Auquatic therapy is awesome here as well. Highly recommend!
Experiencia fantástica: I've had 2 family members there and the nurses and other staff took really great care of them. My grandmother on my Dad's side passed on there and my great grandfather on my Mom's side was taken care of for about a month. My great grandfather passed on earlier this year and I know that he had an exallent experience there and was taken care of everyday by the nurses and pharmacists that work for my mom down in the pharmacy.
Experiencia fantástica: I've had Therapy here before and I highly recommend coming here that's why I wanted to come back. The Staff is very helpful never had a problem with them.
