Experiencia fantástica: I had great experiences with California Rehab and Sports Medicine Therapy, located at 2888 Long Beach Blvd. #400, Long Beach, during two courses of PT for different injuries. The facility is clean and patients were seen in a timely fashion. The employees I interacted with included Vanessa at the front desk who was friendly and efficient; Liz and Hannah, PT assistants who oversaw my exercises with patience and smiles. Michael Rymer PT, OCS and Liliana Valverde, DPT taught the exercises, performed hands-on therapy, answered my many questions and made me laugh. I learned much from Mr. Rymer and Ms. Valverde about movement of the body and proper body mechanics. I also learned that consistency with doing the therapy exercises at home is vital for recovery. The atmosphere created by the employees was one of competence coupled with kindness and laughter. This facility and its employees get my highest recommendation.

Experiencia fantástica: To whom it may concern.. California Rehab & Sports Therapy is (HANDS DOWN) THE BEST physical therapy facility that I’ve ever visited. I can say this with all confidence and honesty, being that I have visited several physical therapy facilities over the years for multiple injuries. Entering into the office, you are first greeted by the smiling faces of Sandra and Vanessa. They are absolutely wonderful at meeting your scheduling needs and billing inquiries. The facility is super clean and organized. I had the wonderful opportunity to work with several different therapists while I was going through rehab and every single one of them were truly exceptional in their own way. The knowledge and 1 on 1 care that the therapist and the assistant therapist displayed, made me feel like I had my own personal trainer. They all worked together as one unit. After each scheduled appointment, I left there feeling stronger, more confident and ready to go back to work. “Thank You Jesus”. Mike most definitely runs a tight ship and Liliana is phenomenal. I hope that I stay healthy and never have to go to physical therapy again but if I do I’m going right back over to California Rehab and Sports Therapy. I highly recommend their facility for anyone who has an injury. From your neck all the way to your toes, California Rehab can get you healthy again. I’ve received comprehensive care and accommodations on the days I wasn’t feeling my best. All my questions and concerns have been addressed. I did all the exercises my therapist taught me. And I was able to follow through my program at home. I went from feeling pain when walking and standing to being pain-free and training on my own. My insurance coverage was also great. I love Rebecca she's great listens & knows what she's doing. The director Dr. Rymer was very nice as well very knowledgeable & professional. I was experiencing horrible Sciatica pain & I am almost back to normal without surgery thankfully. I Definitely recommend California Rehabilitation & Sports Specialist.

Experiencia fantástica: I suffered a ruptured hamstring in July 2021 and had surgery to reattach it. My surgeon sent me here for my rehabilitation (which will be about 6 months total). I am deeply greatful for the staff and Physical Therapists here - they have been incredible. The front desk is welcoming and helpful, and makes sure I have appointments set up in advance so I can get the times I need. They follow all the COVID protocols, so I am very comfortable being there. The staff welcome me by name, and the office has a very encouraging and uplifting atmosphere. I have been seeing Michael Rymer for the duration of my therapy (I am five months in) and he has been amazing. He is so knowledgeable, and willing to explain everything I am going through. He listens to me, takes time with me and has been absolutely pivotal in my recovery. If it is possible to enjoy recovering from an injury - they have made that happen! I have been so encouraged and motivated by the team there, my gratitude is endless!

I've seen all colors, creeds, sizes, genders etc. be treated with kindness, respect, and professionalism here, including myself. The people who gave this place one star and played the race card are in a word... whack.

Experiencia fantástica: Follow up review....for the group who pulled me thru you really did me a favor. I had two goals when I left, one was leaving in Jan to be playing golf by end of April. (Done) Two was to continue on the path you put me on getting my body back in shape. (Done) I just completed my 70th gym workout doing 3 days a week. I have gone from 181 pounds to 173 without nothing but a diet change. I plan on leaving California better than when I got here. Thank you so much for the motivation to get me in gear!!!! Transforming is sooooo rewarding.

First off - In response to some of the comments below - I've been here literally hundreds of times - (see my crazy story below), and I've never seen any hint of racism or inattention or lack of respect for the patients by anyone !!! The staff over two years comprised at least 7 nationalities and any "orientation" was a completely normal thing. All I've seen is people being treated as people. No colors or languages mattered, no orientations differentiated in any way I saw. Old, young, teenager, all treated with respect and with therapy according to the individual patient. I was completely shocked to read the other reviews, so I wrote this "brief" account of my experiences ! I think you'll find excellence, friendly, caring, and effective PT here! Everyone I met there had at least a Bachelor's degree, At least a couple had their Doctorate ! I've been a nearly constant patient here over about TWO YEARS through 7 major surgeries and a bunch of "procedures" after a true "Humpty Dumpty" incident involving Christmas lights, gravity and thick concrete. All the Kings horses and all the Kings men are a whole lot better than they were when the poem was written... The best of them work at California Rehabilitation and Sports Therapy, 2888 Long Beach Blvd. !!! Silverton is my favorite. His knowledge of anatomy and physiology is deep and his understanding of functions is complete. Note: I am a 6'4" "thick and tough" (moderately overweight too) male, so the following things are rare for me to find ! Silverton is willing to work hands-on, REALLY hard or really gently with me as the situation requires and as I request. He's also willing to push me and work with me to my (high) level of pain vs. gain. (Silverton is very gentle with patients too!) Heather is my 2nd choice. Completely different approach, but it surprises me how effective it is. Seriously, this is a partial list of the "body work" they've dramatically helped me with ! Wrist fracture and complications - Vanessa was very good, as was her team. My hand works beautifully - 11 screws and all. Shoulder and Rotator Cuff re-build of a re-build - This is an intensely painful and frustratingly slow and gentle, then moderate, then strong, then intense, 6 month long progression in treatment dictated by my surgeon. Wow. I'm very glad Silverton was there every step of the way. Add a Lumbar Laminectomy with nerve issues and numb leg and drop-foot... Could have been disheartening. Wasn't. Thank you Silverton and Janie. Total Hip replacement - mine didn't work, but it took a lot of investigation to determine that. Silverton hung in there with me. See DIAGNOSTIC comment below. Total Hip "Revision" Yeah. The second time in is not anything like the first. Very slow slow slow start and frustratingly YEAR LONG progression (dictated by the surgeon). Silverton and everyone (Emily!) really kept this from being very depressing. The other shoulder... No surgery, but we worked to make it a LOT better. The ankle on the non-hip surgery leg... Nasty torn ligaments. Helped me avoid another LONG recovery surgery! !! Neck... I *did* say "Humpty Dumpty" earlier, right? The neck was a mystery as we investigated why my legs were not working well. It took a long time to find that spinal cord problems in the neck were affecting my legs. PT - Good PT, is also a very reliable and trusted DIAGNOSTIC tool. So, now my legs work pretty to very well for a day or two after PT and traction. (They have a nice machine!) The proper surgery or procedure to stabilize my neck long-term is still being determined. SADLY, my new PPO insurance ( I lost COBRA coverage finally) does not contract with Cal Rehab and Sports. (It is the only insurance my surgeons take.) So, I'm going in for another surgery to stabilize my neck and I'll certainly be holding any new PT people to a VERY high standard. Thanks everyone! I'm halfway to Wolverine and when the neck gets stabilized, I'll be in great shape. Thank you for my midlife rebuild! And for believing in me. And for believing me.

Experiencia fantástica: I've been here following two surgeries and highly recommend it for the quality of the people and for their attentiveness to patients. I've been to other therapy places where they give you a list of exercises to perform and then disappear. Here, the caring therapists watch over to ensure that you're correctly positioned to get the maximum benefit. I would not go anywhere else.
