I reached out to several physical therpaist who advertised postpartum recovery, but was immediately impressed with Dr. Shimanek's responsiveness, passion, and comprehensive approach to postpartum recovery. I also loved that Akasha Physiotherapy is women-owned and run. Needless to say, 6 weeks postpartum I had my first appointment. Dr. Shimanek is very thorough and creates such a comfortable environment that within the first 5 minutes I felt at ease and in the best of hands. She helped greatly with my scar tissue mobility and pelvic floor strengthening. In those sessions I learned more about my body and postpartum recovery than I had ever expected and continue to do the exercises she taught me. Dr. Shimanek is fantastic and provides exceptional care! I highly recommend.

A friend referred me to Sarah, and through a combination of hands-on care, emotional/psychological support, and holistic health guidance she guided me to recovery and healing. Sherine has this magical personality that melts away my emotional distress during treatment. Addressing my mind, body, and spirit through her approach, Sherine has absolutely changed my life for the better. I am so grateful for her.

Experiencia fantástica: I've been seeing Dr. Sarah Shimanek since November and I have seen a huge improvement. I gave birth recently and had so much abdominal pain and pelvic floor issues. She was able to pinpoint the issues and I'm able to enjoy life again. She is knowledgeable, caring, and easy to talk to.
