Experiencia fantástica: My elderly MIL was referred to this facility for PT & OT. The staff/therapists here were exceptional and performed their duties with the utmost respect and patience. In particular, the director, Dr. Singer made sure that all of our needs were met and my MIL received the care that she needed to improve her mobility. Highly recommend!

At first I had an issue with my bed because it’s too small but I’m glad there’s this one guy name Julius who helped me and changed my bed right away without hesitations thank you and also Kupila for being prompt with my needs. Will recommend this place!!

Experiencia fantástica: My grandmother stayed here recently after a fall and fractured her hip. I have to say after visiting with her at this facility to make sure she was being taken care, the staff was super helpful with all of her needs, and rehab was on point. Nursing care was top notch, and everyone I came to talk with was super friendly and supportive. Will definitely recommend this facility to anyone who needs this level of care. Kudos to the staff and this hidden gem in Oakland!

Experiencia fantástica: My 95 year old mother was transferred to Oakland Heights for rehab after discharged from Summit Med Center due to a spinal compression fracture. We visited her everyday for the past 5-6 weeks, all I want to say is this facility truly has a great management team. Everyone has been courteous, respectful and professional from the physicians, directors, RNs, CNAs, to the OTs/PTs, front desk and activity team. At the beginning, the nursing director Andrew and social services director Marissa talked to us about the program for my mother’s stay. The patients here have 4 physician visits every week. We discussed the pain medications with Nick, the surgical wound and bed sores were closely monitored and treated. The CNAs provided the most direct care to the patients, they worked very hard and special thanks to Karen for her great smile and wonderful personality. This facility has a strong team of OTs/PTs, especially Celine, Aaron, Rico and Susan, they helped my mother to strengthen her core muscle and leg muscle to regain her mobility. My mother got her medications at the right time, Lydia and Allan were very knowledgeable and caring. The facility is very clean, spacious and the housekeepers come several times a day to keep the place smell nice. My mother enjoyed the meal provided and the bingo and blackjack games hosted by Hannah. Thank you to everyone at Oakland Heights for all your help and support in mother’s recovery. We would highly recommend this facility for anyone in need.

Experiencia fantástica: I have been a patient for almost 4 weeks now at Oakland Heights. My physical therapy is going slow but everyone is so patient and encouraging. Julius is my best cheerleader. And Cheryl, Susan, Rico and Celine are awesome Julius is always ready to help with all sorts of therapy. The CNA’s are the best. The nurses are great and the Doctor is super easy to talk to. I feel like everyone is a part of my family. I can really feel the love and hope that they can help me. I will walk again. !

Experiencia fantástica: I want to say what a wonderful person and worker Julius has been. I’ve had a long stay here at Oakland Heights & he has been a high lite & I will miss him terribly. He is excellent at his job, dedicated, efficient, & kind. And he is joyful, funny, & sweet to everyone. Julius is a great worker, & we love him.. There are other nurses and cna’s who are special as well but will address them separately later. I have found most everyone here to be kind & thoughtful& very helpful & have made some super-special lifetime friends.

Experiencia fantástica: Great thank you to CNA Jada Collins paying attention to resident Coleman's health care. Thank you Jada for being persistent in telling Coleman she should go to the hospital., After running a high fever and blood pressure for 3days, she was just one steps away from being septic. Thank God for you and your dedication to your profession. OH needs moreoes CNA' and Nurse's who put their profession over the business. Ms Collins needs the Employee of the year and other's who work diligently.

Experiencia fantástica: I've toured several skilled nursing facilities and this one really stands out! Upon first impression, the facility is incredibly clean. You can tell that they put a lot of effort into maintaining the building. Every person I talked to was friendly. They have also been successful in remaining COVID-19 free, which just speaks to their great infection control practices. I would definitely recommend this facility if you're looking for one in the area.

I have never been in a work environment like that, my best work was and continues to be Oakland Heigts and the truth is the best place because everyone takes care of every detail in cleaning and the standards that everyone has to disinfect and every detail when it comes to take care of your patients and be aware of each one of them

Experiencia fantástica: My mother was a resident at the Oakland Heights facility for just over 11 years after suffering a stroke that prevented her from walking, dressing and generally caring for herself. The first several years were under the auspices of the Salem Lutheran Home, which was a nonprofit organization that had managed the property for decades. It was a very caring, high quality institution. Salem could not afford to maintain the facility and it was sold, in part to an assisted living operator. The nursing and rehabilitation portion was leased on a very long term basis to Aspen Healthcare, which is a for profit company that continues to run the facility today. I was concerned that the quality of care might suffer as a result of this change, but that was not the case. The level of concern and attention paid to residents at Oakland Heights is just outstanding. Staff turnover is pretty low--and certainly this place shines in comparison to other facilities I've seen in the area when visiting residents there. I don't recommend having a loved one reside in a skilled nursing facility for 10+ years. It is less than ideal in most respects. However, I believe that Oakland Heights is a place that can manage that well. and would not hesitate to use it. I recommend it highly.

Experiencia fantástica: I had a family member that was admitted here for some rehab services. It was the best decision for my aunt. She was skeptical to go to a nursing home after having surgery because she has a bad experience at another nursing home. I met Nancy the facility representative at the hospital who encouraged us to come and visit for a tour. Everything she mentioned about this place was true. Oakland Heights is by far the best nursing home I’ve ever visited. The facility, the people and the care you receive here is top notch. The facility is beautiful and halls are spacious. I’m very impressed with the place looking so impeccably clean. I had the pleasure of meeting some of the managers there during my visit. Karen the Rehab Director is very knowledgeable about the specific treatments designed for my aunt. Susan a nurse manager was also very helpful and answered our nursing concerns. Everyone I had a pleasure meeting was very kind and helpful. I would recommend this place to anyone looking to place their loved one in a nursing home.

Experiencia fantástica: I go to Oakland Heights every week to visit some residents. The facility staff are very helpful and Friendly. All staff smiles and greets you right away. The nurses are always willing to help eventhough they are busy. The facility is clean and well maintained. Overall, this is one of the best facility i worked with.

Experiencia fantástica: I have a close family friend who's mother in law needed skilled nursing services for a medical condition that landed her in the hospital. Nancy was kind enough to provide us a tour of the facility. She is very knowledgeable and helped answer and alleviate any questions and concerns about the care they provide and insurance coverage they take. Let me just say that walking around seeing how beautiful, odor free and clean Oakland Heights is was a huge relief compared to the other facilities we toured. What stuck out the most was how friendly the staff were and they always said hello in passing and asked if we needed assistance. Ultimately my friend chose Oakland Heights for her loved one to rehabilitate. In the future I'd like to bring my family here for rehab and highly recommend anyone out there who's loved one needs those services.

Experiencia fantástica: I have been blessed to be given several opportunities to attend to a couple of patients for their post rehab care at home who were discharged from this facility and all I can say is that they are very consistent with their 5 star patient care and services! Those patients were my proof how well they were taken cared of, not to mention a thorough & concise discharge plan of care and H&P's. Great job guys!

Experiencia fantástica: My mother is currently here now for two weeks. This is her second stay after a serious car accident over a year ago and several subsequent surgeries. It’s a very stressful time for a family member to determine where their parent will be in good hands. My mother was once a CNA herself. Her mother was an RN and father, a pharmaceutical salesman. Mom is very comfortable here. The rooms are spacious, all the staff and I mean all of them, are very good, drs, Head nurses, CNAs, etc. The place is very clean. Ignore the parking garage. It needs a good cleaning and can be a turn off since it’s where you first park. The facility itself is clean, staff is attentive, meals are decent, and PT/OT personnel are excellent. I don’t take the time to write many reviews ever, but I relied on them heavily when considering where to place my mom. Give yourself a day or two for your family member to get acclimated and over their anxiety if coming to a SNF. They’ll be well cared for and be sure to speak up. The drs & nurses are good if you just take the time to express any concerns or needs.

Experiencia fantástica: I am so impressed with Oakland Heights! Not only the facility but the staff was so accommodating and treated my grandpa with the utmost respect and care. He raved about the nurses and CNAs as well as his rehab team. The physical and occupational therapists were extremely knowledgeable and explained everything to my grandpa (and myself) which was so refreshing! I was especially grateful for Yamin and Brenda (Occupational Therapists) who got my grandpa feeding himself and dressing himself again after his stroke. Bella, a Physical Therapy Assistant also worked with him and made a huge difference in his standing and walking. He could not stop talking about all the women helping him recover so quickly. Cannot say enough great things about Oakland Heights... THANK YOU!

Experiencia fantástica: I am a fussy daughter with a critical eye. My 94 year old mother had a fall and fractured her spine. After 3 days at Alta Bates Hospital, she was transferred to Oakland Heights where she spent 4 weeks. As the daughter of nonagenarian parents, I have taken my parents to several different skilled nursing facilities in the East Bay over the years. Oakland Heights is by far the best! It is a cheerful place with every staff member going out of their way to be friendly and helpful. My mother, who is not easy, was well cared for by the highly skilled staff. The PTs and OTs were amazing. In fact, by the time my mother left, she was learning to walk again using the parallel bars. Oakland Heights is very clean, bright, welcoming and spacious. The corridors are wide enough to house an aviary which the patients enjoy. I often wheeled my mother out to a beautiful courtyard. There is also a balcony that looks over a garden where my mother loved to sit. I have to mention that the food was excellent too! It was wonderful how Oakland Heights cared not only for the patient, but the whole family. Mervina, the Director of Nursing, had many meetings with my husband and me. She was genuinely concerned about my mother. She wanted to make sure my mother would have a smooth transition from Oakland Heights back to her own home. She set us up with Hospice, transportation, and home caregivers. And now a special shout-out to the wonderful nurse, Terry, who comforted me (yes, the daughter) when I was crying. I will never forget her kindness. I highly recommend Oakland Heights.

While he was at Oakland Heights for almost two months, he received great care from all the staff-- nurses, PTs, Ots, case manager, front desk, doctor... I know sometimes my Dad was not the easiest patient to deal with, but the staff at Oakland Heights demonstrated excellent care and attitude. Dad's speedy recovery is the result of their professionalism. We chose Oakland Heights because of the recommendation of my friend who had stayed their before; now I would like to give my recommendation to anyone else who is seeking for a great place to recover.
