Experiencia fantástica: I have taken both Qigong and Yoga classes from Valerie. She brings a deep understanding of the human body and spirituality to everything she does. You leave feeling centered and energized to tackle the week ahead.

Experiencia fantástica: Oh my gosh...much gratitude to Valerie for introducing Loo movement! I was seeking physical therapy for frozen shoulder, and stumbled upon Loo Movement PT. I had been dealing with frozen shoulder for a little over a year, and in just a couple sessions with Valerie I was able to get mobility back. Not only did I get mobility in my shoulder, but I also found a kinship with the Loo movement method. The method not only provided counter-shape exercises for improving my shoulder, but it showed how to integrate my body's intuition so find a way to return to its natural balance. This may sound a bit woo-woo, so let me explain. I've learned through Valerie's instruction that our body has an intuition that knows where it feels and works at its best. When there is an injury or misalignment, we need to work at bringing our body back to its grounded, balanced physical place. It's not merely doing physical therapy for repair, but also allowing our body's intuition to share in the process of alignment, strength and balance. Basically, after each counter-shape exercise, we must stop and allow our body to feel itself so it remembers where it needs to be. As we continue the Loo method, it becomes natural and the body and mind work more cohesively. This is both on-going and preventative physical therapy; Loo movement ensures that the physical and intuitive body works together always. To me this is the key to unlock health and wellness. Thank you Valerie!

Experiencia fantástica: ‘I’ve always felt imbalanced between my left and right sides, and I was getting back pain when I played golf. I also wanted to start playing pickle ball and ride my bike again, but I had hip surgery a few months ago, and was not sure if it was wise to return to more sports given all these things. My friend recommended Valerie to help with my back pain and help me get stronger and more flexible to return to my sports. Valerie’s Loo Movement mind-body approach has helped me more than anything else I’ve ever tried. It really helped me feel more balanced and aligned. I’m playing pickle ball and riding my bike again, and am super happy about that. I highly recommend her! It’s worth the investment to be able to do the activities you love again.”

Experiencia fantástica: I am full of gratitude for Valerie!! My posture and my gait have been transformed. The simple and very easy to adopt and sustain change has completely shifted my posture and I feel lighter and more integrated. I have more range of motion and all movement comes with greater ease. THANK YOU!!!

Experiencia fantástica: I've been working with Valerie for the past couple months, and she has really helped me to get on a path towards healing my injuries, having better alignment, and having a more attuned relationship with my body. In past year, I decided to increase my exercise program from just walking the dog and hiking on weekends to adding significant cardio and strength training, based on my doctor's recommendation and on reading the book Outlive by Peter Attia. After running regularly for about 4 months, I began to experience hip and knee pain. I know I have some imbalances, and I have an old shoulder injury that bothers me from time to time. So I wanted to consult a physical therapist to learn how to heal the injuries and increase activity safely in the future. I chose Loo Movement because I really liked the approach that Valerie described on her website integrating physical therapy with Pilates, yoga, and mindfulness. I have a lot of experience with meditation and yoga. I have now had several 1:1 sessions with her, where she teaches "counter-shapes" to counteract misalignments or imbalances that she sees in my body, and then I do those at home on nearly a daily basis. I like to do my exercises at night, which helps me wind down, go to bed early, and fall asleep easily. I have also become a regular at her Pilates Reformer classes, which work really well for me in building strength and balance. In just a couple of months, I have noticed big changes: I experience hip and knee pain much less frequently, and my body feels stronger, more capable, and balanced. I'm looking forward to continuing with these practices as I ramp up my running and start to do more strength training.

Experiencia fantástica: Valerie is a true healer and life changer! I lean towards being a “do it yourself” kind of gal and in the past have tended to injuries with my own research and implementation, but this time that didn’t work and I really needed someone to help me out. I came to Valerie in March 2023 with ankle and knee pain that was truly preventing me from doing the things I love (exercise, dance, long hikes/walks). What really pushed me to reach out and invest in her support was a trip I was taking to Ireland the following May, I knew I needed help to get my body realigned so I could enjoy myself on this trip. From start to finish, I experienced Valerie as a very intentional, supportive, motivating, and warm/kind person. During our phone consultation I could tell she had read my inquiry form from top to bottom. I sensed she didn’t just want me to work with her to gain another client, but wanted me to know what our work together would look like and was clear that it would also take me being committed/ready to tend to my injuries with her guidance. I appreciated her wholistic approach in which she also taught me how to check in with/tend to other areas of my body where I might’ve not been experiencing as much pain, but where tension/subtle pain could be exacerbating what was going on with my knee. The way she had me scan my body before each session is a practice I’ve been able to translate to my day-to-day life. The stretches and exercises she assigned me truly helped me get my active life back little by little. Also, her coaching of me to not over do it was very helpful as I’m the kind of person who can tend to “do the most.” I would tell my friends that “it felt like I was getting my legs back.” Needless to say, my Ireland trip was fantastic thanks to Valerie’s support. I did multiple intense hikes and bike rides and walked almost everywhere pain free. I continue to do the exercises/stretches I learned from her as a preventative measure and it feels good to have a person I can go to with trust and confidence if I ever find myself injured again. I would highly recommend Valerie for anyone looking for some healing support. Don’t hesitate to reach out to her!

Experiencia fantástica: Loo Movement provides a unique, thoughtful, and long term approach to improving your physical alignment and overall strength. Working with Valerie has helped me to understand how my body is misaligned. She has given me a set of exercises and stretches, as well as an awareness of how my body reacts to them, which has allowed me to improve my physical self continuously. This has helped me to do things I love (like gardening) by making me less prone injury and strain. I really appreciate all she has done for me and will continue to work with her.

Experiencia fantástica: Wow! I never thought I would get relief from my neck pain and I truly have. I for sure have flare ups from time to time, but now I’m so aware of my patterns, and I can tell exactly when I do something that will probably flare me up. Now I have tools to address that pain and even improve other areas of my body, too. I just feel so much confidence in my ability to respond to physical pain and Valerie is the first person EVER that has gotten me to develop a more consistent stretching practice! I’ve loved learning her approach to tackling the root of physical pain and not just the symptoms. I was worried that I wouldn’t find relief and that I’d invest a lot of money. However, I love spending time with Valerie in the sessions and the way she holds space for me to learn about my body and focus on being more in tune with myself is SO valuable! She has instilled a lot of trust by demonstrating her super thorough knowledge of the body, and she also brings a spiritual grounding approach that is really how I want to take care of myself—by both understanding and working from science, while not ignoring the other layers of me.

Experiencia fantástica: I love taking Valerie's Active Recovery and Gentle Qigong classes together on Sundays. I leave the studio feeling supple, restored, relaxed, vital, and with access to all the energy I'm going to need to take on the week ahead. Valerie's guidance is rich with information, but soothing in her delivery. I just think she's amazing at what she does!

Experiencia fantástica: The Loo Movement classes for Active Recovery and Qigong have helped me stay balanced and flexible in between workouts. My schedule is so busy that I don't take the time to stretch and rest. Valerie's guidance and expertise have allowed me to recover from my long distance runs in a nurturing way. I feel very relaxed after each class on Sunday mornings that carries into my workweek. I look forward to returning to these classes now. This class is definitely something I will put on repeat.

Experiencia fantástica: As an athlete and physical therapist who runs A LOT, I took Valerie’s class for my active recovery, because I know I need to keep my body flexible and in balance. We all know stretching helps- it improves our mobility and wellbeing but how many of us do it as much as we should? During the class Valerie guided us through a lot of mobility work and encouraged us to slow down so that we actually felt the benefits of stretching our bodies to the fullest. It was so gentle that at first I didn’t think it would do much, but afterwards, I felt SO much better. For anyone who’s looking to do the sports you love into your 80’s, I highly recommend this class! Valerie is herself an accomplished athlete and former gymnast who understands the needs of people who may have previous or current injuries -I trust her fully and have referred several patients to her as well.

Experiencia fantástica: I saw Valerie a few years ago after injuring my ankle pretty badly. She helped get me stabilized and healed up so I could get back to work. More recently though, I have been struggling with anxiety and insomnia. I decided to try a Qigong fusion class from her and I was blown away. It's helped me reset my energy and sleep like a baby. I haven't woken up feeling that refreshed in years! Valerie is a very skilled healer with a vast knowledge and array of modalities to help her clients. I highly recommend working with her or taking her classes!

Experiencia fantástica: Valerie has been a joy to work with on sports injury prevention. Even though we work on the physical body, I notice the sessions change my emotional body, building resilience and boosting cognitive function throughout the day (and days after). Valerie holds space in a very special way, teaching you to listen and respect your body. She draws from her expertise in Yoga Nidra, Reiki, and Qigong, as well as physical therapy and functional movement. I highly recommend booking your session if you want to be your best self on a daily basis.
