Hillcrest Raleigh at Crabtree Valley

Experiencia fantástica: l am a Current employee of Hillcrest and have been for 2 years and 7 months and l love working here, we are all family and we treat our residents as such ..we all care for them a great deal.

Experiencia fantástica: On February 11th, I had spinal fusion surgery that involved 3 levels of the lumbar spine. I was discharged from Wake Med Hospital on the 14th. I entered CVRC on February 18th, as I was not able to remain at home without specialized care. I found CRVC to be a well functioning health facility, where heath care providers confronted a urinary infection and thrush in my throat. The thrush created serious problems for me, as I could not eat or drink, literally, anything. Dr. Lew worked through the next couple of days to determine the correct course of action for both. While my body was fending off these infections, and while I received nourishment only through an IV, I lost 22 lbs. The weight loss added to the challenges of the infections, and the ongoing rehabilitation for the spinal surgery. I found CRVC staff to be invested in my care. They were patient with me, and followed up the medicinal cocktail that Dr. Lew prescribed with round the clock attention. Over the course of the 16 days that I was in CRVC my progress at first moved along slowly. When the thrush was dealt with, and I could resume solid food and drink, my PT and OT activities went into full swing. Herby (PT) and Julie (OT) worked me through daily exercises that began to reap intended benefits. By the last week of my stay at CRVC, I was able to move quickly past a cane to walking unassisted with Herby outdoors, and I was able to move more easily through the indoor activities that Julie presented that would mimic life at home. I cannot say enough about both of these health care providers. They were fully present, well prepared with progressive and regressive activities that kept me on task and healing. By the time I could go home, I scored a full 56/56 on Herby's regiment scale, and I found myself prepared to negotiate home life. That both of these therapists took personal focus on me; that they were always punctual and ready to work with me; and that they adjusted their programs to fit my specific needs all led to my full recovery. On the whole, the nursing staff, house cleaning personnel, and the whole team at CRVC clearly care about their home away from home. As an organizational consultant, I would describe CRVC as a team oriented facility that invests in their patients. As one moves through the hallways, one would find all staff constantly moving, constantly involved, and focused on getting the job done. I can sit here and write this note in comfort, and looking ahead over the next few weeks to walk without pain. As a follow-up to my surgeon's amazing surgery, CRVC put me in the best position to glean full benefits of my new found health. Needless to say, I would recommend CRVC to anyone without reservation.

Experiencia fantástica: Hillcrest Raleigh was great. My dad loved the food and the cheery atmosphere felt alot more like home. Friends came by frequently because it was such a comfortable place. The director was awesome and approachable. The nursing staff was caring and attentive. In fact they came within a minute if the nursing button was pushed. That is not the case at other facilities we have stayed in. I highly recommend them and hope they have a room available if we need rehab again!

Experiencia fantástica: I was welcomed into the lobby, and the greeter helpfully explained the check in process. As I went down the hall to visit my friend, I was pleasantly surprised to see the amount of interaction between staff members and patients. There were thoughtful conversations with questions about the patient’s family and interests. The PT area was large and bright, and looked out onto a lovely courtyard. This seems to be quite a place for folks who are working hard to recover their mobility and independence.

Experiencia fantástica: My mum needed some extra healing and PT following a recent hospital stay for heart and kidney problems and Hillcrest has been wonderful for her. The staff is full of skilled nurses and compassionate administrators. Like anyplace, there have been a few bumps on the course but any concerns were addressed quickly giving me the peace of mind my mum and I needed. This facility is clean and gives great compassionate care. Care✅ Food✅ Meds✅ PT/OT✅ Nurses/Staff✅

Experiencia fantástica: Robert received excellent medical care, physical therapy and more from an amazing team of social workers, therapists and others who worked together to help him recover from knee replacement surgery. I would highly recommend Hillcrest to anyone. Thanks to all at Hillcrest.

Experiencia positiva: No place is perfect. I will give a full length review after my employer is removed from this facility. Your loved ones experience here will all depend on chance. What employees are assigned to there hallways. If they are assigned with kind workers with a caring heart they will have a great experience. If they are assigned with verbally abusive workers who take joy in mocking, belittling and neglecting your loved one it will be a holly terror of a experience. The weekend staff is amazing! Come during the week at dinner time 5:45 to get a honest idea of how your loved one is treated on a regular basis ????

Experiencia positiva: My mother was at Hillcrest for rehab after a broken hip. The nursing staff and therapists were fantastic. The care management team left much to be desired. They never returned phone calls or emails. I understand there were some extenuating circumstances but really, 5 phone calls and several emails were simply ignored.

Experiencia fantástica: If you are looking for a Rehab place I highly recommend this place. The staff is kind and attentive and courteous. They took really good care of my mom and the PT and OT people are outstanding and so sweet. The only complaint I would have is for them to check and make sure all things are working correctly before assigning a room to someone. (TV, call button etc.) But, I would take the care over any of these by far!

Experiencia fantástica: The staff at Hillcrest has exceeded our family’s expectations for the care of my Father-in-law who is being rehabilitated after a stroke. The staff seems to understand him, his personality and what motivates him to be stronger. He is almost 83 years old, this is his second stroke, and they won’t give up on him. The PT has been excellent if not exhausting but in a good way. Their care and attention is personalized, impactful and much appreciated.

Experiencia fantástica: First time visiting Hillcrest Raleigh to visit my mother in rehab. We were greeted by a friendly receptionist at the entrance who had us check in and answer the usual covid questions. Masks are required to be worn by all visitors. Once inside we were met by a staff member who told us mom was having lunch in a common room and showed us her room where we met her room mate. We caught up with mom and saw the appetizing lunch she was eating. It looked good! The facilities looked clean and appeared to be taken care of. The carpeted areas were clean and neat. The patient rooms seemed spacious, very clean and in good condition. Overall the staff we encountered were friendly and professional. Hillcrest is one of the nicer facilities in the Raleigh area.

Experiencia fantástica: We have enjoyed our experience at Hillcrest. My husband had very serious back surgery and could barely move when he got there. Now he is quite able to get around with a walker. Your care has enabled this. We are grateful and would recommend you to friends and family.

Experiencia fantástica: I, Kiran Joshipura was a patient at this great Hillcrest facility during February of 2022. My twenty days stay at this facility was my life’s first experience in such facility. I can categorically state that if I ever need to spend my life in a care facility in my old age, I would say this must be it. The professional approach from the administration, nursing, OTPT, physical therapy, social workers, cafeteria , the front desk people and rest of the staff was exemplary. I also observed other patients were being taken care of just as I was. If anybody asks me to recommend one such facility, this will be it. Although at present I live in Virginia, still in the future if I have to choose a facility like this, this will be it. My heartfelt thanks for the entire staff of this facility. Experiencia fantástica: My Dad was a patient at Hillcrest following a hospitalization for pneumonia. He could not have received better treatment anywhere. From the Physical Therapy to the Speech Therapist, the Physician, and the Nursing staff, his experience was first class. When he began the process of passing away, Hillcrest was wonderful in caring for him and for our family, who were allowed to stay in his room continuously for almost 48 hours. They were extremely kind and attentive, brought food and sodas for us while they administered pain medication that prevented him feeling any pain. Every shift of the Nursing Staff gave us such support and love and made Dad's final moments dignified and comfortable. They were, indeed, Angels in caring for our family. I highly recommend Hillcrest for rehab and end of life care. The McKaig Family

Experiencia fantástica: From the moment I arrived to the parking lot with my mom I knew this place was the right choice for my mother. The staff moved her from my vehicle to the facility in a wheelchair and her room was already prepared for her before arrival. I transferred my mother from a different rehab facility in Raleigh due to the lack of appropriate care she was receiving. The other rehab facility building was very outdated, dirty, an understaffed. As soon as I walked into Hillcrest, you could definitely see the difference. My mother received more therapy within the first day at Hillcrest than she did for a week at the other rehab facility. The staff at Hillcrest is knowledgeable, caring and attentive!

The team there did an amazing job improving the mobility of our resident. She returned to us with a smile and had obviously improved significantly in her ability to maintain her independence. Experiencia fantástica: I am giving a five-star rating to Hillcrest Raleigh because it delivers on all the points that a rehabilitation facility is expected to do in order for a patient to leave healthier and stronger upon discharge. During my stay of three weeks, I noted: All staff is cheerful and helpful. The facility is very clean and well managed. The response to my call button was always under 3 to 5 minutes. Any problem was promptly solved by the nurse surpervisor, David. I had an older bed that was not quite comfortable and it was quickly changed for a newer, comfortable one. The food was nutritious, tasty, and served warm. In a health facility the food is bland and well-balanced for numerous reasons that aid in the recuperation of patients’ various ailments. There is also a menu from which you can choose other items apart from the daily menu schedule. The physical therapy I got in this facility truly helped me recuperate much faster than expected and prepared me for when I was to go to my home and do my daily chores. The attention and rest that I got also helped me to progress beyond expectations after my knee replacement surgery. If you get tired of being in your room, there are other rooms with chairs and TV’s that you can go to for a change of scenery, and the gardens are nice to stroll through as well. The administrative and medical staff work very hard to ensure patient satisfaction, and are dedicated people with kind hearts. I saw the medical staff remove an elderly lady with severe memory issues out of a room she shared with another patient whom the lady was keeping awake all night and kindly telling her that they needed her help and took her to the area of the nurses’ station where they kept an eye on her and her constant plans to create mischief!! It was really beautiful to see how kindly they looked after and treated her! It's important to understand the many difficult scenarios at a rehabilitation center and the constant managing of difficult patients and sometimes a member of the staff, or a disgruntled former employee, who might leave a poor rating. My experience was that all the patients I got to know during my stay were very happy with this facility and would come back there, as I would as well, after any future major surgeries.

Experiencia fantástica: I have known several people who have been residents at Hillcrest, some short term, some long term. When I have visited the facility, it has always a pleasant experience. The facility is always clean, well staffed and clearly well-run. The patients that I have visited have been well pleased with the care and attention they have received. The food is excellent and there are many activities for the residents. I happened to stop by on the day of their "Senior Prom" and it was wonderful to see them having such a good time. This facility actually has more of a upscale hotel feel to it than a nursing facility. I would recommend it to anyone faced with the need for a temporary rehab facility or for long-term care.
