Experiencia fantástica: I went to visit my uncle today. I didn’t have a lot of interaction with the staff, but the woman at the front desk was very pleasant.

Experiencia fantástica: I looked at a few places when my husband fell ill and i was told he needed intensive care upon leaving the hospital. All the places i looked at made me feel uncomfortable before walking into the facility. Cambridge was cheerful and welcoming. When it was understood that my husband had to stay full time, the staff was so caring and answered all my questions. I felt i was leaving him in very capable, trusting and professional hands. The attention by all staff, Aides, Nurses, maintenance, therapy. Everyone has been caring and always offer a shoulder to cry on. (I've been stopped in the halls on occasion just to ask how I am doing). I get calls, sometimes multiple calls, letting me know of any issues, even minor ones. I am very grateful for all the staff at Cambridge.
Experiencia positiva: Lovely entrance and beautiful grounds. Pleasant until reaching patient rooms while lunch being delivered. Plus brussel sprouts with lunch. Found a helper for changing depends- not good to sit in feces too long. Otherwise wish volunteers allowed to help out.

Experiencia negativa: No way, it's not good place, don't take your love one there, I had my father there one they found him in the floor, at 1 am, call me saying, we found him in the floor, what hospital you want me to take him to check. They don't take that serious, 3 different personal told ME that can happen, it's normal. WHATTT!!! ITS MY FATHER. They don't even give much information to the hospital cause they called them to see what happens. Even he got infeccion cause they don't clean them good. If you don't tell them, they don't check his diaper, his hand was very dirty, his hair scalp, his skin was very dry. They don't, even you press the bottom for assistance they took for ever or never come , if is an emergency, imagine. Thank God we was there everyday, cause the last day he was there, he was choking cause he has a infeccion and his swallow was having problems. He had a stroke that's why we take him there, for better therapist. But no way, don't trust that place! God bless and protect your love one!!

My husband, partner, best friend, everything is not well and it doesn't appear that he will get "better".The medical staff and all the employees here at Cambridge are nothing but the BEST! They are keeping my husband very comfortable and happy as he can be. They all help me to keep myself together with a shoulder to cry on and prayers from Heaven. I wouldn't have it any other way! Experiencia fantástica: There isn't a grand enough word to tell you just how spectacular this place is. I've gone through 4 other facilities for my loved one within a 15-mile radius of here. The facility is immaculate, the staff loving, the patients cared for no matter their ailment. Even the social worker here, Harry, who deserves a special place of recognition, is compassionate, thoughtful, caring and patient. He treats everyone as if they were his own family, such a rarity in today's world.
Experiencia fantástica: I just got home after spending several months at Cambridge. They rehabilitated me expertly. Everyone is friendly, professional and skilled. I was treated with great care. The nursing assistants and nurses really paid attention to me and ensured that I was clean, fed and taking my meds every day. The physical therapy was very hard for me (there are no shortcuts) but the therapists were wonderful and kept me encouraged and working towards my goal of getting back home. All of my visitors were impressed with the cleanliness of Cambridge. No one wants to be in rehab, but if you have to, this place worked well for me.

Experiencia negativa: Sweet Jesus! Are these people coming here for rehab or to die? Have you seen the food that is presented to these poor individuals? Please clean the plates and bowls between meals. I was horrified after visiting a family member with leftovers from breakfast stuck to the plates at lunchtime. Just gross.

Experiencia positiva: Therapy is great there - however nursing and CNA staff is not up to par. My father presses his call button for help, and has to wait long periods of time for anyone to direct their attention, when I’ve seen with my own eyes staff just standing around and talking rather than going to help, leading him to getting up on his own, and falling. And this has occurred multiple times. I understand he’s not the only patient there, but a person can only wait so long. I’m disappointed.

Experiencia fantástica: Cambridge goes above and beyond with my father in law. He is a WWII Vet and my personal hero. He has dementia and my wife and children take care of his wife and struggled when we had to ask Cambridge to become our extended family. But that’s exactly what they are. They treat Dad as their own, their patience, empathy and compassion is unwavering. I marvel at their ability to bring that to work everyday. Thank god for Cambridge!
Experiencia positiva: The facility is great, the staff and Nurses are a delight. Everyone is so helpful and attentive. Mom has been admitted since the beginning of the month and we haven’t had a complaint. And the occupational therapist on sight are great at their job mom is doing so much better able to stand and walk with assistance.
Experiencia fantástica: My father recently spent time at Cambridge, and wants to pass along the following review … “After surgery to repair my spine, I needed in-patient rehabilitation, and was fortunate enough to go to Cambridge. The staff was warm and friendly. When I needed help, they were there, and they treated me like an adult. The physical therapists were excellent. If I ever need that kind of care again, I'll try to go to Cambridge.”

Experiencia negativa: I worked here for about 7 months in the kitchen and let me just say this facility is terrible. The bosses here are terrible and have very disgusting personalities and they also have a high turnover rate. Save yourself the hassle and don’t even think about working here.

Experiencia negativa: Awful, terrible, beyond disorganized, infinite negative stars. I honestly don't know how this is a legal business. My mother was here for 6 months and ended up passing away here. What a terrible end of life experience she endured. There were only two people in the entire facility that were helpful and kind. No one ever knew her medications or distributed them correctly - they always had it incorrect and were really rude when asked. Anytime I asked anything of the nurses or staff, it was pretty much met with an eyeroll or a nod and I sat there waiting forever for someone to speak to. Her phone was stolen a week before her death and no one cared a bit or was surprised or helped us or apologized - nothing. Everyone there is clearly miserable and it's reflected throughout the whole place and the poor patients living there. When she went to the hospital - they didn't even know which hospital she was sent to. There is zero urgency or help for the patients when they call, when they need to be changed or are in pain or have an issue - they sit there for hours waiting for help. How awful. Then I get an email with the amount owed for the month - I literally had to ask for a detailed invoice. Then, I get the detailed invoice and it's inaccurate - charging way more than we owed. I don't even know where they pulled these numbers and what accounting system they use - but they need to fix this. When I would ask for a detailed invoice, it would take days and then I'd get a manually created xls with a ton of attitude. I would have to spend my time going back and forth on the bill to try making sense of simply what the charges were. It shouldn't be that hard when you are paying $525/night. That's another kicker - you're paying so much money for the absolute worst experience - the patients are literally laying around without any help or kindness, the food is inedible, place is sterile. I'm sure this is the case with most of these nursing homes, which hopefully will be archaic sooner rather than later as we move into a better healthcare system and elder care.

Experiencia positiva: Cambridge is a nice facility. It was the first time ever experience a nursing, rehab facility for my mom. Only thing if the residents use the bathroom and mess on themselves, someone immediately should clean it. I believe once you are proactive in the plan of care things can go smoothly. Overall staff was friendly. God bless them.
Experiencia fantástica: I am writing to compliment Cambridge Health & Rehabilitation Center for making my father as comfortable as possible over his last days. Sending a loved one to a facility is never an easy decision, but Cambridge has made this process seemless. * In particular, I want to thank Nicole Goncalves, Social Worker for long-term care. Her honesty and advice have been instrumental in our making it through this difficult time. She is amazing and we would be lost without her guidance. * I also want to compliment Cheryl Egan in admissions; Sharon Coffey the short-term social worker; Nurses Rose, Dorothy and Angela, and the main receptionist Cindy Stanley. Their kindness and sense of humanity, taken together, have made this very difficult process passable. We are eternally grateful for your professionalism and kindness towards our father.
Experiencia negativa: This place did not take care of my mother in fact it was a healthcare nightmare. She was only there 3 days and all 3 days there were unsafe conditions. No one knew her diagnosis and no one knew she has dementia and is nonverbal. Their doctors put on depression meds without consulting the family. They had her admitting diagnosis as failure to thrive and depression when she was there for postoperative surgery therapy. Nursing staff expected her to use the call bell to get assistance to the bathroom when they should have known that she is nonverbal. she had 2 falls in one day and the second fall she was found on the floor by a family member, who clearly screamed because my mother was crying in pain and soiled herself and drooling all over her pillow. When staff was asked why no one tended to her cry's some staff just walked out of the room with no words. No staff or administration staff never called me to inform me of her fall. I left work and when I arrived, I ask why the ambulance was not call to she can get evaluated in the E.R. I was told by the nursing supervisor that they did their own assessment, and we didn't need to. My response was no one was checking on her to ensure her basic needs were being met, why would be confident that the assessment done by staff was thoroughly done. I would NEVER recommend this facility to anyone. Clinical staff are unprofessional and rude.
Experiencia fantástica: I was so fortunate to do my rehab at Cambridge. If I had to go to rehab again, Cambridge would be my 1st choice. Special thanks to Giselle, Angie, Diona and Adrienne. They are, without a doubt, the best at Cambridge. Their professionalism, compassion and care cannot be topped. Tracey, Hanna and Lynn in the PT department are outstanding. Thank you to all.
Experiencia fantástica: After being discharged from the hospital I was informed I needed to spend several weeks at a rehabilitation center while I was on intravenous antibiotics. I was afraid to go to a rehab facility as I have heard so many scary stories over the years abut these facilities. Besides, I was too young to go to one, but I had no choice. Upon arrival, I was greeted by the most pleasant and professional staffers that I could imagine. They allayed my fears immediately. The facility and my room were both very comfortable and nicely appointed. The staff beyond professional and nurturing. Anything I needed they were there to provide in a timely manner. The professional nursing staff is amazing and critical to your care and rehabilitation. The nursing staff so wonderful I was almost reluctant to leave. If you're lucky you'll have Giselle and Pauline attending to you. The physical therapy staff is equally very professional, kind and helpful. If you have to go to a rehab facility I wouldn't hesitate to go to Cambridge. Thank you for nursing me to my former good health.
Experiencia fantástica: I moved my mom in to Cambridge this past January. The staff on Chelsea unit are phenomenal. I have not seen my mom this happy and healthy in years. All of the staff at Cambridge work as one cohesive unit, they make mom feel very at home. I could not have asked for a better experience. I am finally able to relax and not worry about her.
Experiencia fantástica: Have had three elderly relatives at Cambridge Manor in Fairfield for a period of 3 to 6 weeks each, as well as several family friends, over the past 5 years. Each has stayed at a variety of other facilities in CT, and this is the best place by a good margin for several reasons: the staff is the most caring and helpful, and the food is very, very good (quality, taste, temperature, etc). Also, due to its relatively small size, parking is quick and convenient so visiting is not a burden on family members.

I was very impressed with the contact free check-in kiosk which was user-friendly and convenient. Overall, I believe that this facility has made meaningful adjustments to accommodate the needs and safety of the patients and positively impress visitors and their experience while on site.

Experiencia fantástica: I was here for 60 days and I give them 5 stars. The nursing staff made certain I got my meds on time. Pain killers ( opiods) I had to ask for because it was as needed. They made certain I had clean sheets and my room was cleaned daily. They even put a really nice recliner in my room to encourage me to get out of bed. I became very spoiled in here because I didn't have to do anything but therapy and some walking. They brought me to my doctors appointments and made sure they followed orders from my doctors. My experience here was and is worth 10 stars but I can only give 5.

Experiencia negativa: The lack of professionalism is shameful and honestly, don't I know how they are allowed to operate! Luckily my father is completely coherent and able to speak up for himself, but what about the others? It's a very frightening thing to think about. If you care for your family at all, do not allow them to go to this facility...if I could give a zero I would.
Experiencia negativa: If I could rate this place a zero I would.They have an awful patient to nursing staff ratio (excpically at night). Patients are being neglected due to Administration cutting back on their CNAs (they have plenty of CNAs on payroll) Administration say they are going to fix the issue but never follow through. Administration is not a pleasure to work with. Do NOT send your family members here!!!

Experiencia negativa: In my opinion, this place is horrible, and I am very disappointed with this facility. I think that my mother's recovery took steps BACKWARD instead of forward during her short stay here, during a critical time for healing and recovery. While the staff seem nice that does not make up for what seems to be a completely disjointed operation. I feel that they are borderline negligent in their operation. For example, my mother arrived, was due/begging for ice and medication, it it took nearly two hours to dispense. Then she was paging for help and no one showed up for nearly an hour until she was screaming for help. What happened if she fell and could not get up? She would've been laying on the floor! Turned out the call button in the room was broken. How is it not standard procedure to test basic equipment? After failed attempts to fix she was transferred to a different room nearly 8 hours later where she received someone else's meals the next day when the record should have been updated/transferred. The information coming from supervisors is all conflicting. For example, she was prescribed a cooling machine to apply cold temperatures to a knee post op. The supervisor would not let us plug it in saying that the building's electrical could be damaged and no one is allowed to use outlets. A different supervisor the next day says that was incorrect and we could've plugged in the cooling machine a day earlier so my mother suffered for nearly 24 hours, great. My mother was supposed to receive ice/cold therapy 30 minutes on then 30 minutes break. She was without ice for hours when she arrived. The next day she asked multiple times for ice and over a 7 hour period since being awake, received ice ONCE when it should've been closer to 7 times. The staff that day claimed there was no ice order in the system, despite the obvious that she sould have had it, she was begging for it, I personally asked for it, and the supervisor the night before promised the situation would be rectified and she would receive ice within 5 minutes upon request. I even asked what the SLA is for when someone presses the room button, how long it should take for response. The supervisor stated 5 minutes or less. You'd think after making those promises, someone would respond quicker the next day. Nope. While the staff is nice and makes promises, I think they may operate within their silos and prescribed individual tasks, but again, are completely disjointed, and I feel there is a complete overall failure by supervisors/management. The food looks like something someone would regurgitate but perhaps that is because they had the wrong person's name/diet in the system? The other huge issue is we were told by a supervisor that since physical therapy missed her the day she was transferred (around noon) that she would get physical therapy first thing in the morning the next day. PT never showed. As the other supervisor said, apparently that was incorrect info and PT alternates with OT. I had to drop everything and extract my mother out of this facility. She put her notice in that she wanted to leave first thing in the morning as the supervisor said she should do by 9am-ish, yet the staff was very difficult, and refused to discharge her despite her passing all the necessary skills per the occupational therapist. This place caused me a MAJOR headache and left my mother in tears.

Experiencia negativa: The definition of predatory practices: My father is a patient switching from medicare to medicaid. It was my responsibility as his Power of Attorney to sign documents on his behalf to successfully gain Title 19 Status. NOT ASSUME HIS MEDICAL DEBT!!! Cambridge has threatened me with a lawsuit even though I never used my dad's money. for anything I couldn't provide a receipt for to be used for my father. I was never told I was signing up for 'Financial Liability.' Google it. Many nursing homes, nation wide,try this strategy. 'Title 42 of the Code of Federal Regulations, section 483.15(a)(3)'- Says this is federally illegal, yet nursing homes try to corner patient families into paying. I've sought council. I've been in full and complete disability since 2010, with student loans discharged in 2019 due to disability.We'll see where that goes. Its really sad people like this exist in the world. But that's life.

I would like to commend Cindy at the front desk who always had a pleasant greeting. I would also like to commend Nurse Gisselle who was very compassionate, available and took the time to treat my husband when needed . I have had both of my parents here for rehab. The staff really care for the residents, the building is beautiful and we strive to make everyone happy!!

Experiencia fantástica: Recently, I had an excellent experience at Cambridge after being discharged from the hospital. I spent a month at Cambridge undergoing excellent rehab by therapists who were caring, friendly, cheerful and obviously competent. I entered Cambridge with my body leaning to the right and being pulled over to the right while sitting. I left there about 80 % better with a smile on my face..... Previously, over the past few years I had gone to 3 orthopedists and 2 Physical therapists with little or no improvement. I found the gym at Cambridge rehab was well equipped and comfortable. The results speak highly to the excellent rehab specialists and frequency of treatment. I want to personally thank those who helped me during my stay. If I missed some names its due my old memory, but, thank you to all I came in contact with during my time at Cambridge. Experiencia fantástica: The facility is very professionally run. My friend said the food is good. Staff I interacted with were friendly and helpful. The facility is bright and welcoming. Overall, it seemed like a top notch health and rehab site.

Experiencia positiva: The staff members are very pleasant to work with, they provided excellent care and attention to our family member. The nurse staff was understanding and the PT staff worked well understanding the age of the person. The place was swept clean but needed to be updated and certain items needed to be replaced. The food was good but on the cool side, this needed to be hotter.
Experiencia negativa: I was sent to this facility after a major back surgery for Rehabilitation. It was a total waste of time etc, going to this place. In fact, I regretted it. Some of the Nurses at this facility behaved as if they were Correction Officers. There were a few good ones though... Most CNAs were surprisingly good. For the two weeks I was there, there was barely anything done to improve my pain and general recovery as far as Therapy was concerned. I felt like I was in a Mental Home rather than a Rehabilitation Center. One could ring the call bell for help and it could take not less than 30 minutes to respond! What a total waste of time it was going into this facility! I was so glad to leave this.... place and be back home,where I think I'll recover better. Again,there were one or two Nurses and most ofCNAs that were great,but the general picture was rather bizarre.It rather aggravated my pain and ,for that matter,my recovery. Glad to be out of there!!
Experiencia negativa: Very upset and disappointed. Nursing staff refused to call 911 after my family member stated they wanted to go to the hospital because of his pain. My family member did not know the address and barely spoke English and could barely talk because of the pain. They claimed that HIPA laws prevented them from calling. I work in the Health field and have worked in a facility and that is just incorrect. DO NOT SEND YOUR LOVE ONES HERE.
Experiencia negativa: My mom is currently at this place. My sisters and I are EXTREMELY dissatisfied with this place. All of the bad reviews I read are absolutely CORRECT!! It is currently 8:00 and my sister and I have called the facility a total of 21 times and NO ONE answers. During this pandemic time when we can not see my mom the way we want to, we are counting on the facility to take care of her and maintain contact. NONE OD THAT IS HAPPENING!!!! If this is the only way I can get someone to call me back, I hope you see this and respond IMMEDIATELY!! This is just TERRIBLE!! I could say so much more but I’ll leave it like this for now
Experiencia fantástica: The staff here is absolutely wonderful from the CNAs to the kitchen staff , thank you for all the work you put in to give the best care that you can.
Experiencia negativa: My mom was transferred from Hebrew Rehab Yonkers New York to this place here, they obviously did not do any research they just wanted to get my mom out because of the insurance not covering after a certain date(ITS ABOUT THE INSURANCE). We had limited phone contact with her or rather she did not have a phone in the room. My mom of 85 years told me a bunch of stories (I RATHER NOT SAY) from this place, PLEASE people do the RESEARCH before you put a family member into a place like this.
Experiencia negativa: My father in law was there. Omg. Run and don't look back! After a successful surgery he was put here for Rehabilitation services. Physical therapy wasn't being done. They had him going to the bathroom in his bed and would clean him up instead of taking him to the bathroom! Said he couldn't walk or stand but he walked across the room twice with a walker. Disgusting.

Experiencia fantástica: At just 63 years old, my husband was diagnosed with a terminal neurological disease and needed to be in a skilled nursing facility for an attempt at rehabilitation before the journey to the hospice hospital and after a horrific experience at a nursing facility in Norwalk, I searched out every facility in the area to find quality care for my husband's needs. Cambridge was the ONLY facility that came in with more ratings over three stars than any other so I made the choice to have my husband sent here. I was pleasantly surprised and totally satisfied with the level of care he received from everyone there. He was treated with dignity and respect as was our family each time we visited. I would highly recommend Cambridge.

Experiencia negativa: Would not even give this place one star. WORST REHAB EVER. They will leave your loved ones in the middle of the night stranded when they need to use the bathroom. The chicken was YELLOW. The food is NOT edible. The aids only act nice when family is around. Once you leave they won't check on you, or come help you when you ring for them. WORST PART!! MY LOVED ONE WHO STAYED HERE JUST ASKED TO BE SENT BACK TO THE HOSPITAL TO THE BECAUSE THIS REHAB WAS SO BAD. THEY COULD NOT GET HER BLOOD SUGAR RIGHT FOR DAYS ON END. THIS IS NOT A JOKE! THIS PLACE IS THE WORST REHAB I HAVE EVER SEEN

Experiencia negativa: My Mom who is almost 93 has been there about 2 weeks since having surgery for Therapy...what a joke!! the first week they never even got her out of bed..they never dressed her. She's legally blind and has trouble with the call button...doesn't matter though, I've been there and pressed it with not a nurse in sight for about a half hour....They put her top on her, and put her pants on, but they don't even pull them up when she's in bed because "it's easier" for them to change her....If I had POA over my mother, she would be out of there in a heartbeat. She also has a bed sore on her bottom that I wanted to take a picture of for documentation and they wouldn't allow it...SMH don't put your loved ones here.
