Experiencia positiva: I spent a couple of weeks here October 2016 after brain surgery at UNM. It was quite good with good food and nursing services. The rehab projects were somewhat limited and they have refused to provide drug information after release.

Experiencia positiva: I am so grateful to all the staff for helping me get on my feet and walking again! After having surgery removal of my L2 vertebrae and disk I was sent to Health South Albuquerque. Can't say enough good things about this place, inpatient and out patient services!

Experiencia fantástica: My husband went to Lovelace after his previous hospital stay. The food there was so bad he refused to go back. So this time he is at HealthSouth, and the food is soooo much better. Therapists are great at both places.

Experiencia fantástica: My brother is currently in this facility, and while visiting him this week from CA, I was so impressed by this facility. The whole place is clean, the exercise facility is first rate, but it's especially the staff. The different therapists that work with him are first class in both their expertise, but also their kindness and compassion. They spent a considerable amount of time going over with us his treatments, causes, and prognosis. Collette in particular, was extremely informative and enlightening about my brothers condition. The rest of the staff is great too, I wish I could remember all their names so I could give them kudos, but EVERYONE that came in to either check blood sugar, or helping my brother in the shower, taking vitals, giving meds, and bringing him meals, they were all so awesome, especially since my brother can sometimes be a difficult patient. You or your loved ones are in good hands here.

Experiencia fantástica: I loved this rehab facility after breaking an ankle and a wrist that prevented me from walking and doing most of my daily chores. I was inpatient for over two weeks. The OT and PT professionals were incredible listeners and team players, modifying my individualized plan as I improved. They also worked as a team to follow my case. They meet together regularly to go over every patient's progress. I became aware of this when I realized that a new practitioner already knew all about my case up to a recent session the same morning. The nurses were helpful and friendly, day and night. I applied a lot of patience as it was my first time in an inpatient hospital of any kind and it paid off. Safety is their number one concern so beware that you will have to follow the safety rules even when you think you don't need them. Adding: and you probably do. My doc in charge of my case was an empathetic listener and helped with all sorts of things. The pharmacist was accurate to a T. Getting off to a trustworthy start on meds made the stay so much more comfortable. I received many visitors, two at a time. The cheery elves arrived to distribute delectable pastries one day near Christmas. A PT intern was kind enough to allow me to video how she got on and off a bench with one arm and one leg from the floor, in case of emergency. Did I say the food was incredible! The food was incredible, incredibly delicious. I took advantage of it and ate three meals each day, something I hadn't had the luxury of doing at home. I was thoroughly pleased with my care here. I left with all kinds of knowledge and tools that continue to help me in my daily life. I really can't think of anything negative to say. A Ten.

The CNA's make you feel comfortable and are very helpful. Dr Turk was an awesome doctor who would always see me every day minus his days off. The time I was there, I learned a lot. Experiencia fantástica: On May 29 I fell and broke both of my ankles. I spent 18 days in Encompass after being transferred from Presbyterian Hospital where I had surgery on my right ankle 3 days before. I had a cast on that leg and a boot on my broken left ankle. I was pretty helpless. When I arrived I couldn’t even get from the wheelchair I was transported in to the hospital bed. On the very next day I was helped by an Occupational Therapist (OT) to get a shower. I had 1 OT session and 2 Physical Therapy (PT) sessions most days during my stay. I was exhausted during my sessions but thanks to the professionalism and encouragement of those PTs and OTs I am free of braces and walking today. I am still doing outpatient therapy but the strong base I was given at Encompass has made a tremendous difference in my recovery. I cannot say enough about the competence and professionalism of the therapists and aides at this facility.

Experiencia fantástica: I initially was a patient late June of 23’ and again August of 23’. The amount of care and time spent teaching me the tools to learn to walk again are immeasurable. Kevin Smith was my physical therapist both times I was a patient. My left leg is an above knee amputation and he taught me how to walk with my prosthetic leg.He gave me information so I could choose a prosthetics company to help me along my journey. The prosthetics company were there to meet me the next day. I wouldn’t have had any idea where to go past physical therapy. My occupational therapist Sandi and Louie were both amazing. Lots of hard work but I feel I’ve made life long friends. I would highly recommend Encompass Health Rehabilitation to anyone.

The therapists at Encompass Health, including Colleen, the occupational therapist, Collette, the speech therapist, and Abby, the physical therapist, were instrumental in my father's remarkable progress. The kitchen staff remembers his name, remembers details about him. The nurses are so kind and cheerful. The Dr is knowledgeable and felt like we weren't bothering him with questions. Experiencia fantástica: I had a severe traumatic brain injury. It's hard for me to remember a lot of things I've been through but knowing I was not able to talk or walk or drive or eat by myself. I was in a wheelchair I didn't know my ABCs I didn't know my colors and knowing how I am now I would not be how I am without these awesome people that were patient with me and helping me with my accomplishments now.

Their staff is the best! They are bar-none one of the best hospital facilities... they beat the hell out of Lovelace and evil Presbyterian... Also, their food is pretty good I will never recommend anyone to PRESBYTERIAN HOSPITAL... mellow out!

Experiencia fantástica: My dad had a stroke and stayed at Encompass for stroke rehabilitation and his stay was a huge success. When he arrived he couldn't even stand He left yesterday and now walks with a walker. The staff took great care of him and we highly recommend Encompass for stroke rehabilitation.

Experiencia fantástica: I was not a patient at Encompass Health, but my Dad was just discharged today. I saw him enter with pneumonia and exit stronger and so much healthier than when he got there. I know that’s the purpose of a rehabilitation facility, but I was so impressed with the physical therapy sessions, occupational therapy sessions, attentive and caring nurses and nurse techs. We were well informed by his case manager. We were greeted friendly by all who worked the front desk. It was immaculately clean. The food was delicious and always hot. Every day I came to visit him, he had great things to say. Thank you for taking great care of my Dad. I will forever be grateful.

The whole staff was very friendly and very understanding about the pain and care that I needed. Doctors, nurses, nurse technicians, therapists, and hospital staff were all very friendly and knowledgeable. If I were to ever need a Rehabilitation Hospital again I would most definitely go back. Thank you all for getting me through a very tough time in my life!!

The OP and the were great and had me up and walking very quickly. Experiencia fantástica: I was admitted into this rehab facility a few weeks ago after my major spine surgery. I barely could get out of bed when I got there. Rehabilitation was definitely needed. They worked me very hard. I wanted to give up. They're trained staff worked with me mentally as well as physically. They got me out of bed and walking the first day. The also got my pain under control the nurses knew and stuck with my medication schedule. This has to be one of the best rehab facilities that I have ever been to. They take pride in their work and really care about their patients and it shows. I acomplished alot in the in the two weeks I was there. The staff there from the kitchen staff to the Drs were exceptional. There was only one person that I would call subpar. I don't think the employee fit in with the company. Everyone was so ready help you and it showed it really made a difference.The therapists work hard with you everyday. You get a schedule of what therapy you are having so be ready to put forth the effort they are there to help you.

Experiencia fantástica: When I was told I would be doing in patient therapy prior to my surgery I was very skeptical. I asked what could I do at therapy prior to surgery to help me. Only surgery would fix the issue right? Then I would do therapy to recovery from surgery… When I was asked what my goals were when I arrive I couldn’t think of any. All I had was, “I want to get back to my family.” When I arrived, I couldn't walk more than 10 feet with a walker and I would be in so much pain I would need to stop and sit. After just two days here encompass I knew things were going to be good. Each therapist I worked with sat down with me and discussed what my goals were before we would start. Though I am sure this is part of their job, I felt like they were asking because they truly wanted to know what my goals were. I could almost see them in their minds developing plans on how they were going to help me get to those goals as well when we were talking. For the most part I was able to work with the same occupational and physical therapist the entire time. But, when I would work with someone else or just another person from my team they knew what I had done since the last time we met and knew what progress or setback had occurred. The therapist here work together like a well oil machine. They have the best interest of each patient in mind. They push you as hard as you want to go. They will even push you to your bodies limit, which is beyond your own mental block. I love this as this is how you make progress. After just a week of being here this fantastic team pushed me to be able to walk 1,000 feet with a walker. Each day I could see the progress, each day I could physically see the progress myself. The progress no matter how small would drive me. Each therapist shared in my excitement of progress, again not because it's a part of the job but because they genuinely cared about my progress. I could not have asked for a better place to come and a better team of people to help me. I am very excited to return here after my surgery to make a full recovery with the help of this amazing team!

Experiencia fantástica: I was admitted in June following a hip fracture, complicated by a double compound fracture of my right arm. The staff was wonderful - caring, compassionate and professional. I had one issue with one RN - it was resolved by the Director of Nursing less than 2 hours later - and the problematic staff was - at my request - no longer assigned to me for the duration of my stay (total of 18 days). The staff is wonderful from housekeeping, to food service workers, case managers and medical staff - and counseling services are available if needed. The inpatient PT and OT therapists were exceptional - staff found the perfect team for me - I truly appreciated the continuity of staff & therapy. I also did my outpatient PT& OT through their outpatients services - again , had a excellent therapy team again from mid-July to early October. Now I am participating (with my surgeon's documentation) in their outpatient community gym to continue my progress . I am in a safe place where people know me, greet me, and encourage me. I feel reassured that if I were to fall - I will be quickly and completely taking care of in this venue where - for the past six months - I have already been treated wonderfully, thoroughly and with respect.

Experiencia positiva: My dad stayed there for a few weeks after he had a stroke. Although, I think they were a little understaffed, the staff were very caring and worked very hard to take care of my dad. The food was good. They worked hard at my Dad's rehab to try to get him better. Unfortunately, due to insurance (Medicare) cutting us off, we had to move him. I would definitely recommend this facility.
