From the doctors, nurses and aides to the dietitians, the excellent therapists and friendly staff members who keep your surroundings tidy, Spaulding in Charlestown is tip-top and first rate. The food is awesome; I enjoyed their meals each day. Volunteers are wonderful, and the views of Boston harbor, boats and city are energizing and terrific. They use every hour of the day to uplift the patients and get them going on the road back to the best can be. A totally professional rehab hospital which deserves all the accolades it receives. Top rate.

There is a strong "can do" atmosphere which is highly motivating. I left there motivated to continue pt exercises at home and believing in my capacity for a full recovery.

If you have a chance to rehab here jump all over it. One piece of advice make sure you advocate for yourself to stay longer if need be. Insurance companies looking to ship you out asap just to save a few dollars.They lived up to their billing as one of the top 3 rehabs in country

Experiencia fantástica: Spaulding helps and guides patients to achieving personal miracles. A special place. Drs., therapists, nurses, PCAs, nutritionists, all personnel, facilities. It's all there for you. You just have to want it. Oh yes, the food is good also.

Experiencia fantástica: I tested positive for COVID while here. The therapists were fantastic for what they had to work with. If you get Lori, Mariah, Justine they are the best! The nursing staff is top notch. The food is really good also. They laughed at my dad jokes.

I can not say enough about the whole place, nurses, doctors, therapists and of course all of the aides especially John and Courage It is immaculate which is hard to find in a rehab. All of my therapists Lori, Trevor, Sarah and Patricia were the most pleasant and knowledgeable therapists that really helped me get out of there as quickly as I did! Experiencia fantástica: I vacationed there for a 1 1/2mo there last year after undergoing brain surgery at Brigham. That’s how much I enjoyed my care. Everyone from their staff to their MDs were welcoming and personable. service was amazing considering the circumstances at the time. Pandemic and all. Very clean and precautious methods. I feel like there aren’t enough characters to fully describe my experience there. I would recommend them without any hesitation. Even their aftercare has been pleasant and thorough.

Experiencia fantástica: I can't say enough good about this place. I suffered a spinal cord injury in December 2013 and was at Spaulding Rehab Dec-Feb. My initial hospital stay was at Baystate Springfield and the difference in every way between my experience at the two places was like night and day. Spaulding was amazing, the nurses, the staff, the Drs, the therapists, all amazing. I had a couple of complaints about a weekend nurse but those were immediately resolved. I had no desire to eat my while stay due to my injury, so I cannot comment on the food. My PT was an amazing compassionate woman who I have learned is now in charge of the PTs there, no surprise to me. She was caring, compassionate, and passionate about her job. If you have a new spinal cord injury and are trying to decide what Rehab hospital to go to, I highly recommend this place.

Experiencia fantástica: A good friend of mine is currently at this hospital, I visited her this week and she was very content with the care she is receiving. I have never seen anything quite like it, it is more like a luxury hotel. My friend is on the 4th floor with a beautiful waterfront view. Her nurse was very attentive and friendly. If I ever need care like this, this is the hospital I would want to be in. Her room is private, which is a huge plus for her recovery. She is recovering nicely thanks to the care she is getting and she is a good friend, I am very grateful to the people here for taking such good care of a very dear friend.

Experiencia fantástica: Loved it! The in-patient staff are wonderful and encouraging. The food is okay but forgivable compared to other hospitals. The people are really, really nice and I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. They are truly invested in you and make your stay as enjoyable as possible. Having said that, try to go in with a positive attitude!

Experiencia fantástica: Blessed: on Nov 14, 2016, I underwent EXTENSIVE spinal reconstruction at Mass General under the brilliant work of 2 surgeons. It was a 10 hour procedure and I was informed my successful recovery would hinge on REHAB. I did my research and Spaulding was extremely well regarded by all my medical MD and RN associates. Thus, pending availability, Spaulding was my first choice post-op. I DID get in and 3 days (yes 3 days) after surgery, I went to Spaulding. I was met by and endless stream of healthcare professionals: my Dr- the best- he LISTENED and was conservative, caring and engaged. An Ultrasound technician IMMEDIATELY scanned both legs to verify I had no clots the MINUTE i was placed in bed. The nurse came in and assessed me and took vital signs and checked allergies and meds. The Nutritionist came in and helped with dietary planning to assure I ordered the BEST protein to reverse the already pronounced muscle wasting and to optimize healing. all this in the first 2 hours of admission. THEN, the OT and PT therapists came in and assessed me and gave me my daily PT/OT schedule. Therapy with them was 4 hours a day!!! daily!! they were gentle, yet TOUGH especially when they KNEW i was a (now) former marathoner and long distance cyclist. realistic goals and tough love. I spent 12 days there and despite the PROFOUND weakness and limitation from surgery, I thrived... yes, i DID have some REALLY bad days, but each person there LISTENED and was receptive and responsive. I came home Nov 30 and arrangements from Spaulding for my dressing changes, RN care and PT were seamless. On Jan 3, i went for my surgical follow up and i visited all the Spaulding staff who cared for me. it was very bittersweet to visit the place and people who helped me recover! I was already walking up to 12 miles outdoors. I went back to teaching indoor cycling classes early March 2017. Picture: me at 4 1/2 mos- i cycled 25 miles of rolling/hilly terrain outdoors in my home state of Maryland. I am also a 30 year NURSE and i KNOW good rehab and quality holistic medical care when I see it. Spaulding was amazing. they saved my body and my mind. I am eternally grateful.
