Experiencia fantástica: There aren't enough stars or praise to fully rate the amazing work done here! Avida is as professional and perfect as an PT institution could be. From day 1 the secretaries helped get me in that same day(most places are a 1-3 week wait), Kelsey greeted me warmly as an add on to her schedule and little did I know she would be saving me! I have left every visit proclaiming to her that she is a godess for the work she has done. I had an acute back spasm/issue that limited my ability to walk/sit/stand/work/workout/shower/etc that seemed to happen overnight, just the week before my best friends wedding. Kelsey took me under her wing and had me on the dance floor and in my bridesmaid dress not only standing up straight but without pain. She has worked with me diligently for 2 months to not only get me back to full day to day functions but back into to my workout regimens as well. The kind nature of the entire staff is over whelming. My work schedule makes definite appointments challenging however any time I called with "I'm going to be late" or "need to cancel" they encouraged me to still come in and did everything they could to Make sure I was still seen that day. The only time I've ever felt this type of large community support like I've felt at avida is in running any half marathon, just a compilation of many random cheerleaders, getting you to the end. Every penny spent here will be beyond worth it. One week before my injury I had just completed 13.1 miles and today after 2 months of rehab I just completed my first 1.5 miles post injury pain free and I owe every step to Avida.

Experiencia fantástica: My husband and I both have been patients at Avida PT and We were pleased with the professionalism of the therapists and staff. It is a friendly environment which makes it actually fun to visit for your appointments. I also was impressed with the follow through, we were given detailed instructions for exercises we can do on our own at home, and my husband and who is a marathon runner , was given an individualized plan that enabled his training to get back on track.

Experiencia fantástica: Avida PT is AMAZING and I wish I could give them more than 5 stars! I went there after a year of nagging knee pain and after seeing several other physical therapists...I'm a runner and having such pain was preventing me from doing what I loved. Caroline spent a great deal of time with me, getting to understand my pain, the potential reasons for my injury and had me performing different exercises to determine strength and weakness. She then created a customized plan for addressing the root cause and not just the pain. I'm happy to say that since seeing Caroline I have no pain...this is almost 6 months later. I've even trained for and run a marathon with no pain!! THANK YOU!!

Experiencia fantástica: I went in having issues with my knee while doing heavy squatting. Within a few weeks Logan had fixed my issue so I can get to lifting again and helped me improve my form on other lifts and running. Highly recommend as an athlete to get your pain figured out!

Experiencia fantástica: After great treatment, a friend recommended Logan to our aerial studio. I was already doing PT at another facility but after the Physical Therapist took another position, I decided to try Fitness Matters instead of the other less friendly seeming place that I was referred to. Amber is so kind and a whiz at scheduling. I was amazed that she had all of my insurance information laid out in a way that was easy to digest and kept me apprised of where we were each step of the way. Logan provided great exercises, and we were able to evolve my care plan from regaining motion and getting rid of pain to incorporating other exercises to help meet my aerial goals. These are the best humans and you will receive excellent care in a great environment.

Switching to Fitness Matters changed everything. Amber was amazing at helping me schedule my appointments with ease and Logan gave me hope again during a really difficult time. Experiencia fantástica: Logan is fantastic. After some lingering back issues, mostly related to sports (volleyball and golf) I began meeting with Logan at Fitness Matters in Grandview. He did a great job not only accessing what my underlying issues were, but also giving me a program of exercises to help improve my lower back/core issues long term. I'll continue to visit Logan for any future PT needs.

Experiencia fantástica: I just finished 3 months of physical therapy work with Logan to address sciatic pain that was keeping me from a lot of activities. He coached me on exercises that gave me short term relief and exercises for long-term strengthening my core to prevent the problem from recurring. I have been mostly pain free for the last 4-6 weeks and have regained the range of motion that I had prior to having pain (and perhaps even enhanced it a little).

Experiencia fantástica: Initially, I came in with intense pain in both shoulders. I had just received mri results which presented tendonitis and bursitis. Logan (aka the best PT ever!) provided the most healing, efficient, and fun exercises throughout my 10 visits. His patience, diligence, and knowledge were very appreciated! Experiencia fantástica: I had on and off pain for a few years and had done chiropractic and massage therapy all with only temporary relief. After an x-ray and an MRI I was referred to physical therapy for bulging discs in my neck. Ashley went above and beyond finding workouts that targeted the muscles that I needed to strengthen. In conjunction with traction, I was feeling relief after a few weeks and can’t thank her enough for her knowledge and patience with me. Experiencia fantástica: From Mary Allison at the front desk to Raven on the ice packs, these people are all professionals. Would highly recommend to everyone. Ashley and Dan are awesome physical therapists. They know their stuff and how to get you back to or better than normal. Both therapists are very hands on and give you their undivided attention. I had been to other PT’s years ago who would give you a couple exercise print outs and a band and say, “tell me when you’re done.” Not these guys. They are really caring professionals who want to get you back to your healthy pre-injury self. Go to them and you won’t be disappointed.

Experiencia fantástica: If you are experiencing muscle discomfort, problems with range of motion, and fear that you will never again move like normal, zip in to the friendly Avida PT Clinic! After just a few sessions, I learned about why I was hurting, some therapeutic exercises, and lots of hopeful advice about implementing a home exercise plan. Along the way, Carol adjusted my program as my needs evolved. Carol’s expertise protocol worked like magic, and now everyday activities are a breeze for me!

Experiencia fantástica: Went to Avida for PT after surgery (May 2016) to repair torn ACL and meniscus. Worked primarily with Ali and Carol, but the whole team was great. They really know their stuff, can simply describe the what and the why for the various exercises. What I appreciated the most was their expertise that gave me the confidence to work hard and progress quickly. With their help I'm good as new and back to playing soccer, skiing, and other activities. I cannot recommend Avida highly enough.

Experiencia fantástica: I have seen therapists at Avida PT for quite a long time. I’ve always been active and damaged my knees while running. I also hurt my shoulder as the result of a skiing accident. Avida PT has seen me through numerous knee and shoulder scopes as well as total joint replacements in both knees and one shoulder. I managed to rupture the L5-S1 joint space, receiving PT at first, leading to surgery and follow-up therapy. I have been plagued with back and hip pain and the therapists at Avida have helped me to reduce or even eliminate that pain so I can live my life. When you get your therapy at Avida you generally work with the same therapist every visit. I appreciate that because they get to know you and are better able to provide an individual plan for you. They are very accommodating and it’s a pleasure to have treatment there. I have no hesitation in recommending Avida Physical Therapy.

Experiencia fantástica: Stephen Laflamme went above and beyond working with my husband in PT post-back surgery. With a condition that is so misunderstood by many medical professionals, Stephen has the most understanding and conducted the most research regarding nerve impingement/pain due to bulging disc out of all of the medical professionals we dealt with during my husband's surgery/treatment. It is rare to find a physical therapist who has such extensive knowledge and experience in the field of exercise science, and who actually knows realistically and effectively how to apply proper biomechanics to an individual's life. He is case and point why physical therapists need to know (and actually PRACTICE) proper strength training! I have recommended Stephen to multiple people with back issues/nerve pain. All in all, unfortunately many medical professionals just don't "get it" (the practical aspects of medical issues/injuries, and how to properly fix them through incorporating proper biomechanics into one's lifestyle)- Stephen gets it.

Experiencia fantástica: Awesome one on one PT sessions with a trained professiona. Most often all the staff have doctorate in PT. I have been for several different medical issues that required therapy to recover fully. A plan was made for each event and milestones were tracked with Doctor supported data. I fully recovered each time. I recommend them to anyone who needs help fixing a malfunctioning body part.
