Experiencia negativa: Wish I could say I had a positive experience as others. I went for physical therapy and scheduled an evaluation. I came in with lower back pain and had some limited movement. The therapist asked me to bend over to see how far I could go. He then instructed me to do a series of stretches. Once done, he said go to the front to schedule another appointment. Not once was I told by the therapist what he felt I needed to be back to normal or how many sessions he recommended. I had to ask the front desk. Second: during the session, I was doing a stretch exercise incorrectly, and he didn't catch it until much later because his attention was mostly on the laptop typing. This lack of attention is unacceptable. Third: I'd imagine a physical therapist would put physical pressure on my back to assess my injury, but that never happened.

Compared to other physical therapist that rush my treatment, Performance Care takes their time with my treatment to help me with my concerns. I am a 66 year old martial artists and he has been instrumental in keeping me on the mat all these years. addendum: Below is a photo from November 4th at the Veteran's World Judo Championships with myself and coach Philippe Morotti. I won gold in the M8 60kg divisioni defeating competitors from France, Germany, and Moldavia. Two weeks before the competition I did something to my knee and couldn't walk. I was convinced that I'd torn the meniscus in my right knee. Dr. Nissim treated me and in 48 hours I was back 90%. By the competition I was completely ready. Experiencia fantástica: I was extremely skeptical going in I honestly thought they were going to just do a whole lot of nothing and keep telling me to come back and continue taking my money, but this place is different Dr Nassim was amazing. In less than 3 minutes into my consultation Dr. Nassim knew my exact issue and started treating right then and there. After each visit there was noticeable progress and know I’m all good and pain free within a very reasonable amount of visits. Also the pricing is very fair I was worried I wasn’t going to be able to afford the amount of visits I would need but I was able to because of the fair pricing. 10/10 recommend only thing that I didn’t like was there is no parking anywhere but worth the trek.

Experiencia fantástica: My first time here went extremely smoothly and somewhat quickly! The facility itself is extremely clean, well decorated, and very much up to date (a modernized look). The lobby is a little small but well decorated. The chairs in the lobby are also comfortable and the walls are a very comfortable/calming shade of blue. The staff were very polite, punctual, and nice. It was my first time so I didn’t know exactly how long it was going to take. It ended up taking about 1-1.5 hours. Parking is a little tricky as all the parking spots are paid parking only. On my 2nd visit I was able to find free 2 hour parking across the street but then had to sprint/quickly walk across the busy road. Just make sure to accommodate the extra time to find the free parking when making your commute. The doctor himself was very professional and personable. I really felt like a new person after being treated. Overall will definitely recommend to all friends and family!

I found Performance Care through Google Reviews and began seeing Dr. Zhang. He is an incredible therapist who was honest and forthcoming from day 1 about what it would take to improve my elbow. During each session, he was methodical about the treatment plan and exercises. He constantly switched up the movements and encouraged me to push myself. Most importantly he’s incredibly well- versed, kind, and intelligent. He cares for each patient and goes out of his way to ensure the best care is provided. Thanks to his treatments, I was able to see immense progress and regain mobility in my arm. I credit my improvements to Dr. Zhang and his care. Experiencia fantástica: I’ve been A patient of Dr. Nissan over 22 years. I cannot say enough great things about this man. About 18 years ago, I slipped and ended up with a moderate tear in my meniscus (leg). MRI said I needed surgery, but Dr was able to repair my knee in 2 to 3 visits. I’ve never had to have surgery. He’s just amazing. He doesn’t believe in just cracking your bones like most Chiro’s. He uses ART (Applied release technique) form of chiropractic care. Very hard to find others using this technique. He very kind and really cares about his patients.

Aside from having all of the fancy equipment to treat all the things, they are extremely knowledgeable and pragmatic about the anatomy and treatment. No fluff, just wellness. Experiencia fantástica: I’ve been coming here for the last couple of years and always have a good experience. They’re friendly, on time, and affordable. As an athlete, I put my body through a lot and performance care helps me be able to keep doing what I do.

Experiencia positiva: I did get some marked improvement. That said, I had mostly been seeing a therapist that seemed decent. She did some deep tissue massage of my shoulder for a few minutes on various sessions which is why I favored her. The tech was ok, but it was mostly the same three exercises (with one time where I did some wall presses). My surgeon said to make sure not to go to a place where they give you mostly the same exercises every time because that won't help your range of motion. I made the mistake of not popping in to see PRIOR to committing to therapy at the location. My surgeon told me to do that and if they have very little then that is probably not the right place for me. Cut to around 10 sessions in, I was informed the therapist was leaving (only because I asked to get on her schedule). Honestly, this was a blessing because I decided to move on. My injury is pretty significant and will require at least another two rounds of pt. I found a place and not even five minutes from my house. They were booked up through the end of this year (around three weeks) and told me next year there were openings in Jan. After they saw my injuries and some banter with the scheduler, she fit me in the same week 2x. My first appointment was a full hour and fifteen minutes. Incidentally, this place is very busy so, this was a favor, and I am grateful. There are around 8 therapists on their roster. I did around 55 minutes of therapy and the rest was a quick evaluation (also around 10 minutes paperwork). The next session was a full HOUR. Turns out this place is one hour sessions. I was miffed so I called two other places in the area and they were also one hour! Performance Care only offers 30 minutes and I think this is not a benefit to someone that does not have a more basic injury. I would endorse this place if you have more basic and likely one round of therapy type of cases. I broke, tore and dislocated my shoulder. I needed/need intense hour sessions that turns out to be the norm. This place has limited equipment. Let me wrap this up in a nice simple bow: POSITIVES: - Reception (as I type this is) is really accommodating and pleasant. -The therapists are very easy going. NEGATIVES: -You get half the time you get elsewhere -Limited equipment/small space -The tech was constantly typing on the computer and paying little attention to my form. I had to ask quite a few times if I was doing something properly. The place I went to after does not have ANY computers on the floor so, the attention is to the patient and not the screen. I would add based on the response that I did get ONE therapist that comes over and watches your form on everything for the first few minutes of each exercise. I also had a private room for manipulation and privacy.

Using ART, shockwave therapy and cupping, he has all but solved my two chronic conditions that were causing me so much pain. I have gone to other practitioners in the past but no one has been as helpful. And the staff is amazing!

Dr. Stephanie Harris is an awesome chiropractor and PT doctor. She cares about her clients and is always so easy to work with. Great energy and always upbeat. She makes the experience enjoyable and stress-free. I absolutely recommend her. The front staff is always friendly, particularly Darryl. The assistants are excellent, particularly Susie, who sets up clients in the rooms with the appropriate care that Dr. Harris sets up. Kevin and John, the massage therapists that I dealt with, are fantastic with deep tissue massage. Performance Care is definitely at the top of the list for physical care.

Experiencia negativa: It's funny because before my last session, I'd been trying to figure out how to review this place. The front desk staff is so friendly, and so are all of the people who help around the office, but my bigger issue is with Nissim. When I first came in, I was in horrible pain from a genetic condition that I've had my whole life. It causes muscle injury with no rhyme or reason. Despite knowing this, during today's session, my third, I was repeatedly pressed about what I was doing wrong to be causing my worsening pain. I'm sorry? It wasn't my fault that the past 2 sessions prior had left me in the same or worse pain than when I came in. If you don't understand my condition, or are unclear about what's not working, ask me questions about it and we'll discuss it. Don't make me feel like it's my fault for having an excruciating genetic condition. If I've told you in the past that I do XYZ to manage my pain, and it's in my record, and I've told all of the staff about it, I'm not really sure why I'm being told that my non-existent failure to do X or Y is what's probably causing my pain. Also, repeatedly telling me that stress is doing it once we re-eliminate everything else over and over in the session is inherently stressful. I already wanted to cry from being pressed about how I must know why I'm in pain and how it's my own actions putting me in screaming and crying pain upon waking up in the morning. I've had plenty of doctors who don't listen or understand my conditions, so I had just quietly made up my mind not to come back. Yet, somehow, it got worse. I don't know how the conversation became him pointing out "that I was still a child" and in college. Ok. I'm almost 22 and a mom, so I'm definitely not so young that I need to be spoken to like I'm 12, but I'm an adult and was willing to just suck that up since I wasn't returning. Then he made a comment about how the way I painted my nails meant I was a child. Decorated like cue balls from pool. They're the first nail design I've loved and picked out myself since I was abused. Nearly 2 years ago I was completely stripped of my identity and physically tortured in my own home. I've only recently found the strength, with a lot of therapy, to begin expressing myself freely in small ways again to rebuild a sense of physical identity, starting with things like my nails. I wanted to do something that felt fun, and I waited till New Year's to do it to make it easier on myself. Having Nissim bully me for my nails felt like taking 10 steps back in therapy. I ended up calling some older adult friends and family and double checking if exactly what he said to me was crossing a line, and they agreed that it was. If you're telling someone every time you see them that their stress is causing their pain, why would you tell them that they're a child and bully them for their nail choice less than 5 minutes later? You don't know what's happening in someone's life, or if they're really struggling. You're supposed to be helping to heal people's bodies, not criticizing their nail choice and expressing your judgements of someone. If you don't respect self-expression, even in it's smallest most insignificant ways, own that and don't open a practice in the heart of LA. Try Texas or Florida. There's great business for you there. I don't doubt Nissim's skills and competence. I just wish he was more thoughtful.

They treated me like family from start to finish when I was injured in a car accident. Dr. Nissim is one such practitioner. He is one of those rare chiropractors who have a special gift for intuitively treating the body’s injuries with a highly refined perception and execution that simply can’t be taught in the class room. His practice is located in a clean, modern space and is managed by a pleasant staff. I have been treated by numerous chiropractors over the years and have had the good fortune to have encountered many talented practitioners, but Dr. Nissim @ Performance Care Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation Center is in a class by himself. I highly recommend Dr. Nissim and have referred many others to him as well — just as I was referred to him by an acquaintance who was unfortunately experiencing a very serious back issue. You will not regret scheduling a consultation with this extremely gifted practitioner!
