Providence Saint Joseph Medical Center: Opiniones
Experiencia negativa: Horrible hospital, rude and unprofessional nurses. Will never go back and hope people read these reviews before taking a loved one and getting any kind of medical attention. Sad that literally the most positive and beat thing that hospital had going for them is there cafeteria..........
Experiencia fantástica: They saved my life after a very complicated stroke and then gave me exceptional care after. I am eternally grateful to the professionals at this hospital!!
Experiencia negativa: This place shows discriminatory and ageist practices when treating patients. Some staff will completely gaslight you when you tell them your symptoms. It makes sense that I would know that there is something definitely wrong and they then decide to do medical treatment that is unnecessary to just say they did something and BILL you. I literally am in excruciating pain and would rather go to a different hospital or Urgent Care facility than this place with rude discriminatory staff. I have sat in their waiting room puking blood or having issues with breathing only to watch other people get in before me because I am not white.
Experiencia negativa: Don't bring your loved ones here. Hospital staff rude and unprofessional. They almost OD my dad. One nurse is completely unaware of the other and what meds have been given out. They dont even respond to emergency calls. My dad was having a panic attack from his meds and they didnt even care, only got annoyed and attitudy. Maybe you shouldnt be a nurse if you dont care about others. They all sounded foreign and barely spoke english and had trouble explaining things and looked completely clueless as to what is going on. They were gonna kick my dad out of the hospital while he was having trouble breathing from a full blown panic attack. Lucky i was there to calm him until the doctor came in the very next morning. Doctor was very self righteous and full of himself. Showed 0 empathy. Only said 3 words and left. We waited forever for the meds. lucky my dad is alive today and i will forever be upset with the staff and doctors.this was on the 5th floor . The er room was slightly better says my dad . So yeah please fire everyone one the 5th floor. Oh and btw i know a person who works there that draws blood. She barely speaks English and paid someone to do her he and exams. These are the kind of unprofessional people they hire that u trust ur sick loved ones with. Do better St Joseph.
Experiencia fantástica: I want to thank the incredible ICU team, especially Emily Dwyer and Jasmine Bone, for their exceptional care of my mom. Emily and Jasmines kindness and calm expertise made a difficult time so much easier for our family. Their compassion and dedication will never be forgotten. Thank you!
Experiencia negativa: Unfortunately, my friend had to visit this hospital because her husband suffered a cardiac emergency. She was pleased with the hospital care but was instructed to contact Dr. Panossian if she had any questions or concerns. After 3 days of hospital discharge, she contacted Dr. Ayuna Panossian only to have her add stress to my already stressed-out friend. She was extremely dismissive, rude and lacked compassion. Great hospital with a poor choice of a physician.
Experiencia negativa: Emergency department window one I was there on November 17,2024 @ 10:00 in the morning the gentlemen at the window was not very pleasant the few questions I ask he was not able to give me much information possible having a bad morning however that is not the right place for him in the front desk if he is not professional doing his job.
Experiencia fantástica: ER as usual was a bit busy. But I was amazed of how organized the staff was. They were handling all patients in a timely manner. The doctors, nurses and even the cleaning crew were so kind and helpful. We live in Valley Village and sadly all hospitals in our area are scary. Providence St Josef Burbank is a great hospital. Our many thanks to the staff and management for doing such a great job taking care of your patients
Experiencia fantástica: November 2024 Parking: 20 min free, $10 max, and everything in between. Billing: They're on it. Visited someone in the ER. What was amazing was that the gal in the billing area already had their filling information. This helps so much later on, for copayment, etc. Service: the ER doctor seemed great, and so were the nurses. They definitely take care of you on a one-on-one basis from the lobby to the patient. They'll let you know what's going on with the situation, and also what they're doing in terms of testing, etc. Even the staff on the other side of the hospital, the main side, we're all friendly. I don't know if these are volunteers, but they will actually leave the desk, and come outside with you to show you where to park, where to turn, how to get from one side of the hospital to the other. Definitely top-notch service. Overall: if something ever happened to me, I'd be totally comfortable coming to this hospital for any service in terms of the ER department. They do get a lot of Warner bros, disney, and the local Studio employees who might have fallen ill. Yes, I would recommend this place.
Experiencia fantástica: Update to review * nurse Cassie helped me i had said Christie. Thank you all again amazing staff
Experiencia negativa: Went to pick up a relative tonight, mind you she doesn’t have a lot of balance so she’s wheelchair ridden. We got a nurse to help us out to get her into a wheelchair to go home. The nurse was extremely rude yelling at her for not being able to keep balance? She can’t walk or use her legs properly. Don’t go here
Experiencia fantástica: Exelente
Experiencia negativa: My brother was taking to hospital for hip replacement ( he failed and broke his hip). The surgery was unprofessional and very bad. Within 3 weeks he had twice hip dislocation and three surgeries including blood clots Next day after third surgery I got a call from social worker ( her name was Michelle) and she said your brother is discharged . I was shocked- my brother was in pain and the most important the clots were not completely cleared. I requested to keep him in hospital. She told me -quote : from now , you are going to pay for him staying here because his insurance doesn’t cover it. Next morning my brother had severe blood infection that cost a convulsion and sepsis. By God’s grace he survived. My dear Californian fellows- the most corrupted fields are : hospitals. It’s all about money!!!! Money and nothing but money!!
Experiencia negativa: DO NOT GO HERE FOR ANY CIRCUMSTANCE Wish I could give it less than 1 star. My dad showed up on Saturday night with a standard UTI, a lot of pain, just went in to get confirmation and antibiotics. The Dr told him to stay the night just for observation and leave in the morning, we said ok. They told us the doctor would be in to prescribe him some antibiotics by 7/8am, then by 8am they said he’d be in by 3/4pm.. we waited, then they said they’ll be in by 6 at the latest. 7pm rolls around and still no doctor to be found. Nurse had no clue where he was and couldn’t have been more helpless and useless. In summary, came in for a uti, asked to stay the night for observation and leave in the morning, 27 hours later doctor never showed up. Nurse wouldn’t come when asked for or called and had no answer to any questions. Handful of people screaming for help in their rooms but the nurses couldn’t care less. I hope people see this before going here, literally go anywhere else in the city, there’s so many options… don’t chose this one
Experiencia negativa: Worthless facility. My girlfriend had to wait hours with pain only to be literally laughed out of the place by a doctor who couldn’t care less about what she had to say, didn’t check any aspect of the pains he was feeling on her body. Do yourself a favor, drive to literally any other hospital if you need care.
Experiencia negativa: I waited 10 hours to see a doctor while I was in excruciating pain. Check in staff cared more about texting away than talking to you. This place is AWFUL.
Experiencia negativa: Very bad hospital Very bad personal Very bad doctor's not recommend this hospital
Experiencia negativa: Lack of attention, there was a person having a seizure, no nurses nor doctors came to help, i was also in so much pain i had to sleep it off, it too much time
Experiencia fantástica: Best team ever who is assisting my mom currently.from doctors to nurses and with their dedication and passion.
Experiencia negativa: For a nine month old with a 102 fever there for 3 hours and still haven’t seen the doctor. Baby was crying nonstop couldn’t wait any longer. Very disappointed in this hospital
Experiencia negativa: Emergency department is a joke. They make you wait 4 hours to be seen when there only 20 people I the waiting room and they call 1 person every hour
Experiencia negativa: I Took my mom today with chest pain and shortness of breath she checked in at 2:40 they call her in 2 hour later they did EKG bloodwork and chest x-ray and then they told us go site at the lobby we Wait another 5 hours they didn’t call her in I ask the front nurse 2 times when is she going in she’s not feeling good she told me there is 28 people ahead of her and she had a big time attitude instead of helping the patient she was giving attitude they remodel the hospital, but they need to change the staff members specially, the front nurse I didn’t like attitude
Experiencia negativa: Nonchalant, and completely unaware of addressing the patients needs. Needlessly lets patients wait till the wee hours of the morning with zero visibility of any progress. This was on a “light” night. Staff does not care about triaging properly and getting the non healh scare to start to work in elements Less than 1 star for all the staff
Experiencia negativa: Hospital staff took my husband’s leg brace from his post surgery room and lost his personal property and somehow not a soul knows who took it or where it is. It’s been missing for a week. And One of the hospital staff restrained my husbands only working wrist on the 3rd or 4th night so close and so tight to the bed one night with his dead body weight pinned on it. That sent my fresh from a stroke husband into a panic attack and wouldn’t give him any slack for any comfort. When his daughter and I simply asked for 2 inches or less in slack on the restraint to relieve his wrist from the painful position it was in, she was loud and disrespectful and talked to us like children when all we were doing was trying to find a way to meet in the middle. We never used a sour tone but she sure did. It didn’t mean he wasn’t cognizant part of the time and that behavior was uncalled for.. The man is possibly paralyzed on his whole right side and he is 65. If your loved one goes to the hospital and cannot physically or verbally defend themselves. I suggest you make sure some nurses don’t mess up and disrespect your special somebody. And never bring any personal belongings at the hospital in the room.
Experiencia negativa: Horrible experience. My grandmother was checked into the Emergency Department on Tuesday with abdominal pain that turned out to be kidney stones. When I arrived at the hospital I asked the nurse some very simple questions and she exploded in anger and said she didn’t have to let me into the room and that she would have me kicked out. All i asked was when the doctor would be seeing her and if they could give her something for the pain and she didn’t have any clear answers. She went on to tell me I was only allowed back there because she allowed me to so I asked her what I said that bothered her. All this while my grandma is in a great deal of pain. She went on to have security escort me out because she said “she couldn’t do this right now.” The head nurse came and spoke with me and told me to “let the nurse cool down.” She then allowed me back into my grandmothers room after changing her nurse. This whole situation stressed my grandma out and made her blood pressure go up even more. It was completely uncalled for.
Experiencia fantástica: What an amazing hospital. Super clean. Everyone is very nice and helpful! I had to get a surgery there on Friday and the Sargon and his team really helped me calm down. I was an anxious mess because I’ve never had surgery before but it’s done with now and I wanted to thank the whole team who cared for me. Thank you again I couldn’t be more fortunate for everyone!!
Experiencia negativa: Terrible, por segunda veZ nuevamente este Staff desde la ambulancia hasta el cuarto de observación, ..todos , todos son responsables por no ENCONTRAR MI BAGPACK, MI TARJETA DE CREDITO ... 10 PERSONAS INCLUIDAS MANAGER PREGUNTARON LO MISMO Y NO ENCONTRARON MIS COSAS **** SON PARTIDA DE LADRONES NO AUNQUE SEAN DE OJITOS VERDES..., SIGUE Y FORMAN PARTE DEL ROBO**** LADRONES Desde la ambulancia hasta las doctoras son responsables y negligentes ineficientes...POR SEGUNDA VEZ, ESTA VEZ ME ROBARON MI BACKPACK MI LAPTOP Y MI CREDIT CARD, NADIE DESDE LA MANAGER HAST EL SECURITY DIO RAZON ***** PARTIDA DE LADRONES *** PERO NO SE VA A QUE DA ASI***
Experiencia negativa: Extremely horrible experience. Will update with details when I’m feeling better
Experiencia positiva: Although my mom’s experience in the ER was absolutely horrendous, she did receive good care in the hospital when she was admitted.
Experiencia fantástica: I had sharp chest pains, sciatica and really bad heart burn, the ER Dr. Barber and her staff Jessica was the sweetest person in that place I swear nice women, they help me so much, they went out of there way for me and I truly appreciate them running all the tests they did to reassure I was fine thank you a million guys
Experiencia fantástica: I came to this hospital in a very bad condition, one could say that I was near death, but thanks to the smart doctors and skilled nurses, I got back on my feet. Thank you so much.
Experiencia negativa: This is Review is for the ER dept. horrible dept to work in most of the female day time nurses just talk about each other all day and even a PA in pod 3!!! Jenna, and the Asian PA in pod 3 are the worst ! as well as Sara. And the social worker with the long blonde hair . Snakes everywhere.!!!! Don’t get me wrong there are some good and professional nurses but ton of snakes!!! Watch out!!!!
Experiencia negativa: The "find a doctor" feature on their website does not work properly. I search for cardiologist within 5 miles of Burbank and it brings up gynecologists and oncologists and dermatologists. Wacky.
Experiencia fantástica: I gave birth to both my daughters at Saint Joseph’s in 1998 and 2000. Great service. Wonderful care. Love the place❤️
Experiencia fantástica: I was a patient here and received great care from the ED team. I appreciate the coordination and swiftness from the PA that took care of me.
Experiencia fantástica: The visit here was less than 30 minutes. The doctor that saw the patient personally made a followup phone call within 24 hrs inquiring about patients progress.
Experiencia negativa: Almost killed me last time ignoring a burst appendix (playing God) weren't much better yesterday. WAY downhill - and it's the Doctors!! For shame. Most of us work just as hard dummies@!
Experiencia negativa: my 97-year-old father arrived with Covid and a bacterial infection in his lungs. He stayed one week. During that week I told them it was critical that they do physical therapy with him every day Since his ability to walk was already limited and needed to be maintained or he could lose his ability to walk. they did not do any physical therapy with him and consequently He continued to become weaker and he can barely stand and is not walking at all now. he doesn't have the strength or will to do what it will take to get his strength back. While moving him from one room to another they lost one of his $4000 hearing aids which they are now responsible to replace. Most disconcerting is they released him with a bacterial infection in his lungs without prescribing antibiotics to clear it up. five days later I had to take him to urgent care where he was given antibiotics to deal with the infection in his lungs. he was so sick during the days after he came home from the hospital and has suffered in the process a cognitive decline that was so difficult for him that he stopped eating for five days and just said he wanted to die and insurance moved him into end of life Hospice chair. that has changed and he he did start eating again but he is not himself anymore and is battling fear and confusion like never before. I wonder if they had not discharged him before his Covid symptoms Improved and the bacterial infection in his lungs was properly treated with antibiotics, I wonder if he would have suffered as much deterioration as he has. I think they were negligent
Experiencia negativa: I wish I could give her 0. I recently had an encounter with a Physician Assistant named Jessica Anne Buriani at the St. Joseph Medical Center ER, and I have never experienced such unprofessional, rude, and uninformed behavior from a medical professional. I took my dad in for an evaluation of his ankle pain w open wound. Despite undergoing a chest X-ray, ankle X-ray, ECG, and blood tests, we waited six hours before finally being seen. I informed PA Buriani about my dad's recurring wound issue, which happens at least three times a year, and expressed my concern. She dismissively told me that the ER could not address it and he needed a wound consult. When I mentioned his unusual cough and requested other test results, she abruptly left the room and instructed a nurse to bring discharge papers. We left the ER without knowing the test results, only to receive a call from her while we were on our way home at 01:46 am explaining that his hemoglobin was low, among other things. She entered my dad’s room without even checking his chart. People like her should not be working in the medical field, and I feel sorry for anyone who ends up being her patient.
Experiencia negativa: We used to love St. JOE'S! We had our babies there. Wonderful people! BUT stay away from their emergency department! 6 to 8 hour waits ARE NOT UNCOMMON! My wife and daughter are ther now, 6 hours and counting, prompting my post. A young girl wailing In a wheelchair has been here 7 hours! This is all true. They recemtly relocated into a bigger ER facility which accommodates more patients to and is overly PACKED with people (cattle) whose emergency is not so urgent to St. Joe's. Shame on them.
Experiencia fantástica: Asthma Attack and had to go to Saint Josephs in Burbank emergency dept.... Didn't know my in-laws had a cat! Highly allergic! Was treated Medically professionally and thorough. Excellent staff, Nurses and Doc were great!!!
Experiencia negativa: It's been 3 months and they still won't schedule an MRI for my husband, who is a cancer patient. Every single scheduler tells me the order is wrong and to have the ordering doctor re-write it, it goes all the way back through insurance, is pre-approved, and I call again to schedule and they again tell me it was written wrong and we go around again. 3 months of this. They won't tell me how to have it written correctly, just that it's "wrong". No one here cares about you or if your health gets better. I don't go out of my way to write bad reviews, but after 3 months of trying to get my husband seen, I am at my wits end.
Experiencia fantástica: They are super nice, kind, caring they are truly awesome, they made me feel I was in great hands. I felt like I was super special. Thank you to the nurses, doctors and assistants awesome team of best humans. Gracias
Experiencia fantástica: This hospital saved my lives 3 times. Their emergency rooms, cardiac and stroke cath lab is first class. The ICU and Stroke Center are the best! My thanks to all the doctors, nursing, and all other employees that keep this wonderful hospitals wheels turning! A heartfelt thank you, from me to you!
Experiencia negativa: To Whom It May Concern, I am writing to express my profound dissatisfaction with the appalling level of care and service I encountered at your hospital. My recent experience was nothing short of disgraceful and reflects an utter lack of professionalism and empathy. During a critical time, I observed that your staff were not only inattentive but also shockingly rude and dismissive. Despite my clear and urgent pleas for assistance, I was left waiting in excruciating pain for over 40 minutes without any form of relief or even a basic check-in. This level of negligence is unacceptable, and it is beyond comprehension how your staff could ignore a patient in such distress. Moreover, when I attempted to escalate the situation by requesting the name of the manager, I was met with an astonishing level of ignorance. I was outright refused even the last name of the manager, with staff claiming they did not know it and would not provide it. This refusal to address my concerns or provide necessary information is not only unprofessional but also indicative of a broader problem with accountability within your institution. This experience has left me deeply frustrated and disheartened. It is clear that there is a severe lapse in both the standard of care and the basic principles of customer service at your facility. Immediate action is required to address these issues and to ensure that no other patient has to endure such a distressing and disrespectful experience. Sincerely, Syuzanna Arakelyan. ( the charge nurse name is Tracy. Tracy especially was utterly rude and had no professional way of speaking to patients. This is at the Burbank location. )
Experiencia negativa: I can in for stomach pain specifically on my upper abdominal area and they did test and said I was fine I had a fatty liver go home and eat better, the nurse that called me in to exam me 1st was rude and uncaring nobody examined my abdominal area, was just asked what’s my pain rate 1-10 and go back and wait to be called for a room. After the minimal standard test they sent me home with the wrong diagnosis and no pain meds or any meds at all for that matter! 2 days later I was in liver failure due to something that should have been caught the 1st time! I had yellow eyes was very itchy and was in excruciating pain!!! Was admitted to Glendale memorial and the did everything in there power to help me! Will never come here again. Also the ER doctor was no sympathetic at all, he was young and didn’t care to get to the real diagnosis! They just wanted me out! I wish the had a better system for the care and real diagnosis of the patients needs. NEVER COME HERE UNLESS YOU WANT TO GET MISDIAGNOSED AND POSSIBLY DIE DUE TO WRONGFUL DIAGNOSIS!!!
Isbela agradecida
Experiencia fantástica: I am grateful to you for your support and help provided to me
Experiencia fantástica: ER was great has a new faculty's and even being short staffed was diagnosed and admitted
Experiencia positiva: My grandma’s E.R visit went pretty smooth on a Friday night. She was seen within an hour.
Experiencia positiva: Three stars because their wait time wasn’t as bad as the other ERs. Came into the ER after a car accident and they told me I was fine before examining any part of my body or doing any tests. Then they bill me $1000 (after insurance) for nothing. The worst part is that someone also did a hit and run on my car and they told me they’d review the footage, but never got back to me because their parking lot cameras were broken. I went to the police and they said that this was a common occurrence here.
Experiencia negativa: This hospital so bad it’s impossible to describe. They kill my mom recently, and so many people I used to know. All people I know, whoever went to this hospital no one alive. It is so bad I don’t know how to start. The hospital hires worst doctors, most D.O. not M.D. administration and managers with criminal backgrounds. I requested to change my mom’s doctor and person who was in charge director care management Jane Winter did not let me choose the doctor for my mom, instead she choose and assign new outside of hospital D.O..She did not even informed me and ignored all my emails. Same night when new D.O. was assigned, my mom suddenly got worse in critical condition and after few hours die, from unknown reason. I requested medical records and waiting almost 2 months. Medical record department did not provide medical records of mom, and ignoring all my emails. Do not take your love one to this hospital, trust me. I know this hospital almost 30 years, and they getting worse, and worse.
Experiencia negativa: ER and some of icu nurses are useless and careless about patient also when asked for something you just get attitude from them experienced nurses in icu are amazing but those new grads are horrible can’t believe a new grad working in icu
Experiencia positiva: My recent visits have me wondering about the staff's competency. On my first visit to see my uncle, the guy who went in to place an IV in my uncle's arm asked me to hold his arm down. I was kinda shocked and hesitated and I think he noticed that he made a mistake by asking me. He said that he can get a nurse to help and that it'd be better if I didn't do it in case something happens. I was asked to leave the room for 20 minutes. I asked the lady that was doing an EKG on my uncle when I first arrived where the nearest waiting room is. She didn't know so she asked the nurse behind her and the nurse's eyes literally widened, she shrugged her shoulders and shook her head. WOW! On one of my other visits, a lady who I think was a nurse walked in on the phone talking to someone about a stent. She asked me who I was and wanted to hand me the phone to clear something up with whoever she was talking to. It was something about who ordered the stent to be placed. I'm not sure. I told her that I wouldn't have that information. She seemed bothered, more so about not having the information or answer to whatever they were talking about.
Experiencia fantástica: Checked into ER & stayed the night for an appendectomy. I have no complaints about this place. Wait times weren’t as bad as I expected, especially because staff was so communicative. Every employee I was helped by was so kind, organized, and competent. I’ve never been in the hospital or had surgery before and I can genuinely say I was completely calm the entire time because everyone was so good at their job. Lindsay, Lorraine, Adam, my surgical team, and other various nurses whose names are escaping me were amazing. The facility seemed clean and well equipped. I can’t say enough good things about my experience and I’m very grateful this place is so close to home should I (hopefully never) need it again!
Experiencia negativa: Understaffed. Wait period is ridiculous. Do not come here if you’re in pain or actually have an emergency. Wait time is usually 4 hours to get treated
Experiencia fantástica: I was born there at 4:56 a.m on the 28th of February 1985. The team made sure I lived. Lots of babies do not and or the mother. That is enough for 5 stars
Experiencia negativa: I want to express my feelings regarding my experience here in this ER . We arrived at 10 PM and entered the room at 2:30 AM. The first person we met was Terra at front desk , who demonstrated a complete lack of communication skills and knowledge about patient rights. My brother has severe back pain rated 10/10 and despite this, we experienced significant delays and poor treatment. When I asked how many people were ahead of me, she informed me that I had been waiting for 90 minutes and would need to wait for about 8 more hours. Furthermore, Terra did not treat all patients equally. When I requested a blanket because it was freezing cold, she refused, even though she provided blankets to the people next to me. She showed no respect for the patients. When I asked to speak with a supervisor or someone else, she refused and told me to leave the counter and go home. Additionally, the security personnel were extremely rude and tough. While the doctors and nurses are doing their jobs, this place is horrible unless action is taken regarding Terra and the security people.
Experiencia fantástica: Literally the best ER experience I’ve ever had. The staffs demeanor changed my entire experience. Had to stay overnight for the first time ever and it was extremely comfortable. Doctors, PAs , and Nurses.. literally everyone even the ppl that wheeled me around. Just an incredible collection of human beings with the energy you want when you’re feeling your worst.
Experiencia negativa: I am from the Department for Developmental Disabilities and was conducting my annual report for my own consumer in room 577. During my visit, I noticed on going loud beeping from the device I posted the picture from the patient was next to mine, which was alerting blood pressure and oxygen level , I alerted the nursing team and asked them to check the patient's pulse, but despite multiple requests, they simply turned off the device to shut the noise. For my own patient, I was asked to sign a consent form to request medical records. Despite identifying myself and my company, the nursing team seemed unaware of my patient's condition and the medical records hesitated to provide the records. After multiple proof of identity , They even suggested me to ask a non-responsive patient to sign the consent form themselves. This lack of awareness and responsiveness from the hospital staff is highly concerning.
Experiencia negativa: Worst er!!. Don’t go here. They have a worst patient care who don’t accommodate the staff inside the nurse just texting cellphone and chit chat talking someone people health issue sad. Over heard it depends who’s the nurse and NP or PA as well the health it’s a joke here.
Experiencia negativa: I went there three times for the same thing. I ended up with a white blood cell count of 20,000 and above. Because of this place I've lost a half a year of health and a large part of my hearing all because they didn't want to admit me. Cedars Sinai did and saved me. The first time I ever came to this place the nurse assumed I was a paraplegic because I was in a gang. The catch is im not in a gang so I guess racism is just common place here
Experiencia positiva: I went there for an ingrown toenail, which was already infected. The young NP was very pleasant and nice, but unfortunately she didn’t do a good job. Prescribed an antibiotic which ended up with a fungus and when she cut the nail, she just left that piece in the wound. I kept taking the antibiotics and hoping it’ll heal, until after a week I myself pulled out the nail piece from the wound. I was finally relieved.
Experiencia fantástica: I want to express huge gratitude to all the doctors and.staff in Neurology department o. The 4th floor who took care of my mother from diagnosing her to recovery from brsin surgery. We have been an many hospitals but this one had the most skilled and experienced neuro-sergeon Dr. Sahidi and oncologist Dr. Arzoo we so far encountered. Nurses were amazing too. Also very patient and knowledgeable Physical, Occupational, and Speech Therapists! Our experience as well as recovery results are amazing from this hospital! Thank you!
Experiencia fantástica: Dear Staff of Providence St. Joseph Medical Center, On behalf of the McAninch family, I wanted to extend our deepest gratitude to each and every one of you for the incredible care and compassion you provided to our beloved brother Michael, his wife, and daughter during their recent stay at your hospital. In particular, we would like to express our sincerest appreciation to the nurses at hospice and Dr. Chu who tended to Michael's needs with such empathy and expertise. Your dedication to ensuring his comfort and well-being did not go unnoticed, and we are immensely grateful for the kindness and support you offered to both him and our family during this difficult time. Additionally, we would like to extend a special thank you to Matthew, the social worker for the Hospice floor. Your guidance and assistance were invaluable in navigating the complexities of Michael's care, and your unwavering commitment to providing emotional support to our family did not go unnoticed. Throughout their stay, your team demonstrated the utmost professionalism, empathy, and genuine concern for Michael's comfort and dignity. Your collective efforts made a profound difference in the lives of our family, and we will forever be grateful for the care and attention you provided. Please accept our heartfelt thanks for your exceptional service and dedication to your patients. Your tireless efforts do not go unnoticed, and we are forever grateful for the invaluable role you played in Michael's journey. With deepest gratitude, McAninch Family
Experiencia negativa: go anywhere else. got 5 stitches on my finger for a minor laceration, waited 4 hours to get it done, billing repeatedly trying to collect $1200 and ignore my insurance (blue cross blue shield, not cut rate ins), to handle billing you have to call them and they never answer, no email, I'm on the 5th time going back and forth trying to get them to run my insurance and send an accurate invoice
Experiencia fantástica: My story goes back to September 2023, when I had a sudden acute saddle pulmonary embolism after a flight to Burbank. The care I received at Providence St. Joseph hospital, beginning in the ER and throughout my 3 day stay, was extraordinary. They saved my life and I will be forever grateful to the team for that. The nurses and entire staff were particularly helpful in speeding up the diagnosis and treatment in what was a busy night for the ER. In particular, I owe a great amount of thanks to Dr. Sammy Daniel David Eghbalieh (vascular Surgeon) for his care, concern, and excellent treatment. Using the low risk, minimally invasive EKOS procedure to dissolve the clots, and help reduce the DVT in my lower legs, helped me in my recovery. Also many thanks to the following medical staff who were instrumental in my recovery: Dr. Dovber Hecht - Internal Medicine Dr. Elliot Koury, - Internal Medicine PA Drew Jacobs, - Emergency Medicine Dr Erwin Grussie - Hematology / Oncology Dr. Ahed Hanna - Neurology I really wish I could remember all the names of the nurses and attendants who were so kind and caring to me. Thank you all for giving me a second chance at life! Clint Wacker - Bedford, Texas!
Experiencia fantástica: This hospital is absolutely amazing. They had us in and out so fast. Very efficient. I brought my son in because he fell really hard and smack his head. They had him in and out within 30 minutes.
Experiencia fantástica: I was admitted there a few months ago and the staffs who were involved in my care were amazing. Starting from the ED head at that time Debby, my main ED nurse X-tine and the other nurse who lend me his charger; and RNs and CNAs from 7NE: Kris, Paula, Clarissa, Jesse, and the others I forgot the name. The transporters and phlebotomist were nice too! This is a good hospital to go to.
Experiencia fantástica: I am so amazed by the care and support Carlos Palacios showed my mother while she’s been here at St. Joseph’s. He is a rare breed. Extremely polite, caring, honest and just overall a good person. If I could give him 10 stars I would. He is definitely a role model to his generation. Respectable young man that with his care and beautiful soul, will get far in life. Thank you Carlos. You made this difficult time so much easier. ❤️ Belinda Porras
Experiencia negativa: I wouldn't recommend this place, especially if you have a condition that was caused by medications. My friend had been here several times in the last two years, and the last time he was there was the final straw for me. Macknzie Halle in the ER had said she seen my friend and I in there before. And claim she would keep me in the loop everything that was going on. She knew I was his Power of Attorney. After an incident that happened back in November I thought it be ok since he been there before and clearly that wasn't the case. These type of places need to keep more update file when there is a POA involved because for an hour and a half when he was taken there by ambulance I didn't even know where he was. I didn't know if he was ok, if he was alive or anything. They kept disregarding him left and right. Just like the other hospital he was at, this place also didn't bother to tell me anything not til I got the papers. Just like the other place they have a bad system to get the papers to them showing you're the POA. Why not get a system for people like me who was 400 miles away to make it easier than what they have set up. The day they were transferring him to another facility they straight up lied to me. Saying he didn't want anyone to know whats going on and where he was going. That was the most complete lie. And I looked at the records and they wrote down the wrong medication, the medication he said was not what he taken that was written down. It wasn't till 30 mins me going back and forth with them they finally told me where he was going. That really upsetted me not only did Macknezie lie to me, but other people in the ER. I would not come here for anything not even knowing about other things, this is the last place I would go to if any.
Experiencia negativa: Terrible hospital and staff. Was having an asthma attack and these people had me waiting for over an hour and thirty minutes . During this wait time I myself managed to calm my asthma attack down enough so that I could head to another hospital Wouldn't recommend . Don't waste your time . The staff have terrible attitudes. I've heard bad things about this place before but I finally got to experience it . Lmao. This is exactly why people don't like coming to hospitals.
Experiencia fantástica: Love this hospital it’s the best!!!!!! If you get sick or have anything come here they have specialized doctors in everything!!!!
Experiencia fantástica: My mother tripped on a curb and landed on her head. We rushed to St Jospehs emergency room. It was full and we braced for a long wait. We spoke to an RN within 30 minutes and scans within an hour. Thankfully there was no concussion and we were in the car within an hour. At no point did we feel rushed or overlooked. Just fantastic wonderful care.
Experiencia fantástica: Its been a few years, but I still feel like I should let everyone know how great my experience here was. My body rejected metal that was put in my leg to hold the bones together. It ended causing a extremely bad infection as well. I ended up being impatient at the hospital for almost 2 months and then another month and a half at a nursing home. The staff, doctors and nurses were awesome! I had a lot of different nurses and staff while I was there because of the length of the stay, but I have to say that I can't remember one negative experience with any of them. I delt with atleast 3 different doctors, and they were incredible. I really hope the people I met there are still working in healthcare because they turned a horrible experience into a bunch of good memories. Thanks to all of them. Y'all are amazing!
Experiencia negativa: Such a long wait in the waiting room and not that many people there. They are understaffed. I had to wait at least 7 hours or more in severe pain. The more in pain I got the ruder the staff was. I demanded to see a supervisor and they refused. I was seen by a physician assistant who wanted to discharge me with zero pain meds. I demanded to speak to the doctor. I was told they were all following doctors orders. I demanded with furious rudeness the requested the doctor. I calmly and respectfully explained my pain and he instantly gave me pain and nausea medicine. So it's not true. The physician assistant is just there to do all your labs and exams and make you wait in pain in the waiting room with no bed for the results and to discharge you with no bed or treatment. I demanded to get treated for my pain and was told ihadto wait longer forabed. I'm glad I waited because I saw the actual doctor in charge or everyone and he completely understood my pain and ordered even more tests. The ER is awful and they treat you in the waiting room. Demada bed because that's where you get to see an actual educated doctor who showed even more concern. Than there take the labs in triage then make you wait in the waiting room for results then discharge you. The front desk is not knowledgeable or care about patients rights so you have to demand them yourself. Worsted ER great doctors once you're in. I'm never coming here again.
Experiencia negativa: If I could give zero stars I would. I’ve been in the ER with a friend who is in excruciating head pain going on 6 hours and when I asked if he could at least get a pillow to rest his head I was told that the ER doesn’t have any!!! What the heck kind of hospital is this that a patient in pain can’t even get a pillow for his head?!? Clearly, not a compassionate and caring hospital!!! You people ought to be ashamed of yourselves when patients come to you for help and you don’t even have the common decency to give them some basic comfort while waiting in your ridiculously understaffed ER that it takes over 6 hours to get help.
Experiencia negativa: My mother was admitted on Mother's Day in 2021 and died on May 20, 2021. Her stay at this hospital was a layered nightmare of negligence! When she was admitted they said she needed to stabilized from Covid and she was dehydrated. She did not enter the ICU until they shot her up with Remdesivir! To give some background- upon admission we made it clear she was allergic to MOST medications. She goes into anaphylactic shock if most antibiotics are within 10 feet. They assured us she was in good hands. The doctor also suggested they give her Remdesivir to clear up the lingering Covid- they claimed it was an antiviral medication that was designed for people like my mom. They were WRONG! Her body started to shut down almost immediately. She was admitted into the ICU and the next day the doctor called to tell us her kidney were failing. Something felt very OFF. How could she go from being close to going home and now her kidneys are failing and she is in the ICU?!?! The next day they called to tell us her behavior was getting out of control as she tried to swing at the doctor. When I dug a little deeper the nurse told me she was having reactions and trouble breathing. She said there was no choice but to put her on a ventilator. She was dead within 48 hours During that 48 hours they were suppose to have Social Services call us to make estate arrangements. That never happened. Aftermath was impossible. Never has access to her bank, car, phone or ANYTHING. This was during COVID so when I reached out to obtain a date for Probate it was a year away. Beyond frustrating! The hospital was understaffed and completely disorganized. For clarity there was only 2 other patients in the hospital with Covid and they were at a 20% occupancy. The lack of support did NOT add up. Nothing they said added up! The hardest thing was not being able to see her before she died. We were denied access. We were denied the ability to say goodbye in person. The nurse called us on FaceTime. Can you imagine saying goodbye to your 64 year old mom who was healthy two weeks prior on FaceTime? It was the most devastating experience I have ever been through! To make matters worse- when we picked up her belongings from the hospital, her ring was missing. I had already asked the nurses about it and had not received a response. Now it was clear- it was missing. The nurses finally responded and claimed to stick it in a drawer. When I asked what drawer, where is the inventory of her things & how did they finally get it off (ring has been on her hand for 23 years). My calls stopped being returned. In fact it took Kristen Mayberry (Head of Nursing) four months to call me back and leave me callous message. Connie Lackey in Security never returned our calls. Dana Asato was the only one who made an effort to resolve (via email) and yet it was out of her hands. Fast forward a few months- they hire a new "Risk Manager" ANITA ARAGON after almost a year. The very first time I speak to anyone is on a "training call" for Ms. Aragon. They actually called me for the first time LIVE with this women they were training if you can believe it. She had no answers. Fast forward another year- she still has NO ANSWERS AND IS COMPLETELY INCOMPETENT. After we called the police and obtained a report stating the ring was indeed lost or stolen- we then gave the hospital a demand letter- they took 90 days to tell us their hands are tied. We then filed a smalls claim in court. To summarize- they didn't even show up for the first court date. Ms. Aragon said, "She was confused" Providence appealed the judgement we received and they LOST. They appealed that on December 26, 2023 (yes, the day after Christmas). As if the holidays aren't already CHALLENGING for our family. This judge gave us a trial date- we shall see if justice prevails. In short, AVOID this hospital and the lower level tactics that embody this administrations staff. The lack of organization, diligence & integrity has been absolutely astonishing!
Experiencia negativa: The vast majority of the nurses here are cruel and uncaring. I will never understand why people like this join the medical field. I had a terrible experience here in the emergency room. They treat you like you’re a criminal even if you feel like you are dying. Cruel and cold people masquerading as health care workers.
Experiencia fantástica: Everyone, docs, especially NURSES, housekeeping staff ALL were incredibly caring, patient, and very cool folks. Individually on top of their professional skills, and very colorful in their non—St. Joe’s lives. Put yourself completely in their hands. You will reap countless riches on top of leaving in spectacular health.
Experiencia negativa: I want to start off by saying that I have worked for 4 major hospitals as part of the medical team, so I know what good care looks like. I don’t say this to puff up my ego, but being in this world for about 8 years now, allows me to speak on this from a backstage perspective. Aside from the night time nurse and the NP, the day shift team was an absolute nightmare. From the lack of empathy and sensitivity all the way to forgetting important details (they took a urine sample and forgot to send it to get cultured, we found out about this at our next ER trip at another Providence hospital). I understand, we’re all human and we make mistakes but some mistakes, especially in a hospital setting can cost lives. If you’re in a caring profession, you should be, well, caring. If the patient feels like they are a burden on you because you’re sighing and acting frustrated when asked for a warm blanket, that’s problematic. If you don’t like helping people, then find yourself another job.
Experiencia negativa: My experience at Saint Joseph Medical Center was largely disappointing and concerning. The initial interaction with a compassionate and attentive nurse during intake was the only positive aspect. Unfortunately, this was overshadowed by subsequent negative experiences with other staff members. The Physician Assistant and other staff assigned to my care seemed dismissive, leading to a misdiagnosis of my condition. Moreover, my health concerns, which I believed were serious and possibly life-threatening, were not taken seriously. I was taken to the back of the ER for further assessment after the initial intake and my experience got worse from there. The attending PA quickly dismissed my description of symptoms and left the room without addressing my concerns. This was compounded by the fact that I was quickly discharged with a wrong diagnosis and not given any explanation on what was happening. Someone literally just handed me my discharge paperwork and told me I was good to go. What was also concerning was while I was waiting, I could hear the nurses and ER staff complaining about other patients outside the room I was in. While they were speaking in sort of hushed tones, I could clearly hear them making fun of and mocking the symptoms of other patients. I understand working in the ER department is one of the most stressful environments in a hospital and that it's natural to vent to colleagues, but to do it outside of a patient's room? Very odd, unprofessional, and kind of mean-spirited- not to mention a privacy concern for other ER patients as well. The next day my symptoms got a lot worse and I sought help from another doctor, who was puzzled by the medication I was prescribed. This experience further highlighted the inadequate care I received at Saint Joseph Medical Center. Overall, if you can, just go to any other hospital.
Experiencia negativa: The nurses in the emergency room are great HOWEVER the radiologist that is working November 10th between 7pm-1am has taken over 4 hours to send the CT scan results while my husband is dying in pain. There is no reason it should take that long. The ER is empty.

Experiencia fantástica: Gave birth to my 2 children!! My youngest one was premie and we both got the best care from Doctors and Nurses!! Salute to all doctors and nurses
Experiencia negativa: Providence St Joseph. 10/9/2022 Visiting friend in Burbank, woke 2AM out of deep sleep. Throat started to swell. No Epipen. Friend rushed me to ER, as this happened before. Facing me. Two girls on duty. One on rt, directed me to girl on left. She started talking and I had problem hearing, spoke louder. She started yelling, that I was yelling at her. My throat was closing. People, lined up in chairs against windows. If not in distress, woukd have been humiliated. Countered w swollen throat. Girl on rt, directed me back to her, Have trick knee. Both legs gave out, maybe due to situation &/or stress on body. Landed on floor. Hand on counter, so I wouldn't roll. Waited for help. NO ONE CAME TO HELP ME! My friend, after parking car came in, asked what's wrong? Then helped me up. An hour later, chilled, sitting in chair, staff did vitals. Rash & vitals were improving. Told Dr couldn't see me, for hour. We sat in lobby. Then I felt itching recede. Told friend, PA &/or nurse we were leaving. Went and got BENADRYL at drug store. Fell into bed, exhausted. Couldn't figure out problem. In morning, Rt leg extremely red, Rt foot swollen. Tuesday, went to VA ER. Diagnosis Cellulitis, possble MERSA. Now on massive doses of antibiotics. Did I mention I'm 80 yr old. Disabled Female Veteran. Former RN with 3 classes shy of 2nd Masters. Rarely use ER, definitely don't fake illness. St Joseph needs to revamp Triage. Patients in distress, don't often act perfect. Believe girl belongs in different area &/or NEEDS TRAINING. TRIAGE 101, People in cisis, all react different.. It's about the patient, not you. H.R. Lawrence
Experiencia fantástica: Haven't been in this hospital but my wife was born there. I took a picture of it from across the street at the Buena Vista entrance gate to the Disney Studio Lot. I've heard a lot of famous people have died in this hospital as well, such as actors John Ritter (played Jack in Three's Company), Denver Pyle (played Uncle Jesse on the show Dukes of Hazzard) and even Luke Perry (played in the Beverly Hills 90210 and Riverdale shows).
Experiencia negativa: I personally think that the Hospital shouldn't hire wannabe Rent a cops as security staff very unprofessional at there job I really think that they should have acted more professional but instead they hire a bunch of amateurs and yes I used Google translate to write this comment. Now my wife overheard the security commenting about the incident but didn't have anything good to say I think they should terminate his contract with the Rent a cop job a ND hire professionals not amateur
Experiencia fantástica: There is a rn or nurse that works in icu, I believe his name is Adam . Has an English accent . One of the best I’ve ever met , really compassionate and truly cares. My grandma is in icu . And he makes sure to stop by and check on her. You can tell he truly cares about his job and patients . With his heart !. Genuine human being
Experiencia positiva: Security guards are rude but they have a kids section with a TV and Disney plus. Wait times are pretty normal I guess but the nurses and Dr's are great.
Experiencia negativa: Horrible customer service from security officers of emergency room. Very rude to patients and family members. To get in emergency room lobby, you have to go through check point and they have to scan before you go waiting room. Security officers are very rude. It seems like they are in their dream job and their job is to be rude to people.
Experiencia negativa: My son was rushed here due to having seizures. He actually had two seizures on the way and two in the door way of the ER. The entire staff. Looked at my son as he was screaming and turned to finish what they were doing. I had to rush him to another hospital in the rain for help. When I asked who was on charge Katlin ran up to me and told me they’re not going to stop what they’re doing because my son is having a behavior due to his autism. He ended up having 7 pseudoseizures that morning. I’ve tried to file a complaint with the medical board. The hospital wants to keep it in house and refuses to give me her last name.
Experiencia negativa: Came to ER @ 6PM got released @ 1PM, they said they're looking for empty room for consultation from the Doctor. They drew blood & told me to wait in the waiting room (very cold, very very cold) I was freezing, I asked for a blanket from The male nurse he refused to give me 1. I went to ER to get better not to CATCH A COLD & GET SICK. Finally they called my name so I went into room Nurse came & did blood pressure & examed me after 15 min & asking me questions & left.15 more min passed & Doctor came She wasn't a real good doctor. After more questions she said I can go home. I went there for STOMACH PAIN & didn't get the treatment I was trying to get. AVOID ST JOSEPH MEDICAL CLINIC VERY UNPROFESSIONAL STUFF
Experiencia negativa: I been going to providence since 2011 has been my go to hospital never had trusted any other hospital. As per my last visit made me never want to step into that hospital , for starters I went in at 8am and got called until 1pm for them to ask me why I was there and the symptoms. Secondly when I decided not to longer wait it was 3pm I was in pain, hadn’t had any food and felt like I was going to faint I tell the nurse that was there I’m leaving I can’t continue waiting she had the audacity to tell me what a waist of time leave, I wanted to turn back and say something but left crying in pain. Went to Verdugo USC hospital they saw me in minutes they monitor my heart because that’s the reason I went in and glad they got to the issue and have been gladly going to them. Will never return to providence or trust them , and for a nurse to say that shows you the care they have for patients and they don’t care about people they are there to collect a check, As it was proven by providence charging my insurance 2,000 something and billing me for not been seen and don’t want to remove the balance. Which I should be the one taking this to the next level for what that so called nurse did that day. I our one star because there isn’t anything less
