Experiencia fantástica: The PT Center was recommended to me by a friend and I am so glad I chose them for my rehab. I had been without PT since the few in-home sessions provided by my caregiver. At 3 months post-op from a hip replacement, I felt my improvement had stalled. Thanks to Connor, I have noticed great improvement in my strength and endurance. He's great at listening to me and tailoring my workouts, making them varied and challenging. I was encouraged to try dry needling to help the incision site to heal faster and the change is amazing.

I needed help healing some tendinitis from pickleball and after a few appointments, my arm is in such a good place and I’ve been able to get back to playing regularly with no pain! All the staff are super nice and I’m so glad I found this place to help with my healing!

Experiencia fantástica: So glad I found these guys...one of the best PT places I've been to. I've been going there for close to a year to deal with back pain and eventually recovery from back surgery. Nathan and Stephanie are who I've primarily worked with and they've helped me get back to a normal functioning life. The staff is incredibly friendly and it has a good vibe every time I go in.

Experiencia negativa: I wish I could write two separate reviews for the PT Center. This review is mainly directed towards the front desk staff and the business practices/management of the office. I want to clarify that the PTs I worked with, Nate and Kim, are very good at their jobs despite having a hectic caseload. Regarding the front desk and the communications i have had with the two employees. I am furious with their irresponsible management of billing and their inability to take responsibility for their horrendous communication skills. I had asked before making an initial appointment about whether or not insurance covered any of the sessions, I was told that my insurance would cover the sessions. I asked if I needed to give them any other information after I made my first appointment, I was told that they had everything. After my fifth session I asked if my insurance was being billed correctly and I was told everything was fine. So I made another appointment. I have had 11 sessions and was not told about any extraneous charges or that I had a bill till my tenth session. THEY STILL HAVE NOT SENT ME A PHYSICAL COPY OF THE BILL. I went to pay them in person during their business hours and was told that they had left the office for the day and no one could assist me in paying my balance. This is unprofessional and frankly unacceptable. The front desk staff should be fired and replaced with competent employees. There are many other PT businesses to choose from so I would save yourself the headache of dealing with their office.

Experiencia fantástica: Josh Allen, little Kim and the entire Pt staff are very professional and caring and compassionate! On my first visit six weeks ago my lower back pain was so severe I could barely stand or walk. Six weeks later with twice per week PT sessions and doing the home exercises they prescribed, I have "graduated" and feel wonderful. What a blessing! I highly recommend The PT Center of Akron!

Experiencia negativa: This place is simply terrible and unacceptable. My wife went there for ankle pain due to history of post op pain and weakness and tear of her ankle ligaments. She was told to do exercises which barely helped her ankle recover. Worse of all it caused her to have back pain now (which she has never had). It even brought her to tears from how bad the pain is and now she has stabbing sciatic symptoms down her legs now and pain up to through her neck as well. She spoke with the therapist about the concern and was just put off and told to come back next visit. They even scheduled her a session and the therapist wasn’t even there to help her and she only worked with the assistant and none of her exercises were adjusted. I am a doctor myself and I am simply shocked by this. This place is unbelievable, I will never refer a patient here especially after seeing how my wife treated.

Experiencia fantástica: Just finished therapy after two knee replacements. I can't say enough about this place. I had done therapy prior to surgery at three other locations in Canton. Nothing compares to PT Center! I was in terrible physical shape and they have given me my life back. They adjusted my exercises to keep me from being bored. When I was tired they changed things up by sitting. Josh and Justin are amazing but every therapist is wonderful and caring. The entire staff works as a well oiled machine! I am strong again and can walk rapidly, keep my balance, go up and down stairs with ease and have no need for a cane. I traveled from Canton to Akron two days a week after finding this place. Just a stand out cut above any place I had been before. Well worth any drive you might need to make.

Experiencia fantástica: Going here changed my life for the better. They show you how to do exercises that help minimize pain. I'm on my feet all day at work. I'm stronger now than I was 3 years ago when I started going here. If I do what they suggest I will continue to get stronger as I get older and have better posture. They physical therapist Kim performs magic on my back and neck. My pain is now merely a low level discomfort. Would recommend this place to anyone.

The team at PT Center was professional, kind and invested in my progress and recovery. Top notch educated therapists and sports trainers. Amazing with all ages, youth to elderly. Every one is so kind. They take all the time necessary to make you well. I have referred literally hundreds of people between my profession and my private life and everyone says “wow thank you it’s truly everything you said it was”. P T center has rehabbed me for Two total knee replacements, multiple sports injuries, vertigo, my husband for rotator cuff rehab, my kids for everything possible. I would like to personally thank Kevin Outwater and his amazing team. When your doctor suggest you need therapy and he tells you where you could go speak up to him and say I want to go to the PT Center. Many doctors refer you to their own clinic because they get a cut from that. Did you know you can go anywhere you like. Give it a try you’ll never go back anywhere else.

Josh and Nathan have helped me through all of my various injuries, pains, and any soreness that I experience throughout my sports season and all of my physical trainers have been incredible! His supportive attitude has really helped me through my recoveries. I have been to other places and I feel that this center is the best facility hands down. The care that I have received has made a positive impact on my life and my ability to walk. I will not go to another facility should I need this type of care in the future.

Experiencia positiva: I was going there and completely happy with my treatment - on my last session I was getting a pretty good workout and with my severe asthma I was breathing through my mouth One of the trainers asked another clearly in my earshot "what's a mouth breather?" And continued to ask similar questions, which I felt were offensivetoward me. "I wonder why people breathe through their mouths", "Don't people know how loud and obnoxious it is to have to listen to domeone breathing through their mouth?" Most of the people at the PT Center seem really qualified - but personally I will not be returning to a place where I felt singled out and made fun of.

Experiencia negativa: Less than 4 weeks out from knee surgery. Through great home therapy I was able to bend knee to 110’ and straighten to 0’ with some pressure. One session of aggressive manipulation at PT center and it set me back 2 weeks. Knee swollen again, back to not sleeping through the night and pain returned. Will not return.

Experiencia fantástica: As a local Family Practice physician I have referred many patients to the PT Center. I have had the opportunity to follow the progress of my patients and I have been a patient myself. The "hands-on" physical therapy delivered by Kevin Outwater and his colleagues is superb.

Experiencia fantástica: I've been lifting under Jeff's supervision for about six years, twice to thrice a week. He really knows what he's doing and gives excellent, varied workouts. I am a longtime swimmer, and every set targets the muscle groups and motions that will make me faster. Sometimes a lot of sports training kids are in there at once, but Jeff still does his best to give everyone equal and ample attention. For heavier lifting he makes sure you have proper form and can explain everything to the finest detail. As with Jeff, the rest of the staff is very knowledgeable and friendly. My time at the PT Center has been a great supplement to swim workouts. I'm always happy to walk in there and get in a good workout next to other hardworking athletes.

Experiencia negativa: I developed severe back pain. I tried to schedule an appointment on the same day, and I was told the only time they have is three days from today (9/15/17). Any PT clinic should have room for emergency treatment on the same day. It is shameful

Experiencia negativa: The PT center has a hectic feel to it. While that atmosphere works for young athletes, (which I think is their target market) it's not great for older adults. Mildew smell on towels. But the primary issue is how they bill. You have no idea what you're being billed for when you leave and are just told to make another appointment. If you go a few times a week and get different therapies each time, it's extremely difficult to go back to a monthly statement to reconcile the therapy line items. There are some therapies that work well and others that don't. I'd rather not have the ones that don't work well, but you don't realize you're being billed separately for them until you've already had 12 sessions!!!! I want to know what I'm paying for when I leave the office. That's customary business practice.

Other places that don't put in a good effort with poor atmosphere don't keep you motivated. The PT Center has really helped improve his condition and keep him motivated to keep coming back.

Part of the deal is I had to do my part, too, but I recommend them without hesitation, to anyone who wants to get well, stay fit, or train for a sport.
