Experiencia fantástica: I work in health care, but I have avoided physical therapy for years, as it can be hard to find a truly skilled therapist. I found Butheau PT in my Search. Wow! Pierre has a tidy and well appointed home clinic. During the evaluation he really made me feel that he wanted to see the big picture. He was curious with information gathering. It was obvious he was using his scientist/observer skills to piece together how the different movements and muscle use was causing me pain. I had described being historically bad with the exercise plan, and he encouraged in a way that was never patronizing, while empowering me to succeed. He uses a great emailed visual tool for exercise recall. What I really appreciate is his great manual skills at helping with hands on manipulation/massage. This isnt like a large clinic where you get send to use the exercise bike to burn through your minutes. I am telling all my OT/PT therapist friends, as Pierre is the type of therapist other therapists would be very happy to discover.

I am very encouraged after seeing that my knee is already responding pretty well to Pierre’s treatment. Experiencia fantástica: This past November 2022, I had a total knee replacement. My HMO would not or could not schedule me for physical therapy until 7 days after my surgery. This is not the recommended timeline for initiating post surgery care. After considerable research, I scheduled an appointment with Butheau Physiotherapy. As a result of his expertise and encouragement, I have met all of my goals and been able to integrate his exercises into my daily routine. Pierre was so kind and informational and was on my team in a sense of taking control over my treatment. His space has a no pressure atmosphere. Experiencia fantástica: Pierre is the calmest and most patient person I have worked with and especially he is the only one who knows about synkinesis, in my country nothing is known about it. My synkinesis is less visible, unfortunately I interrupted the recovery due to some unpleasant events with my little girl, but I still have the advice I received from Pierre and I will definitely apply them. I had a very severe facial paralysis and was unable to shut my eye completely and dribbled out of the right side of my mouth. Pierre has been fantastic and one of the most helpful providers on my road to recovery. Experiencia fantástica: Pierre provided me with valuable exercises and massage therapy when I got Bell’s Palsy. It is a scary, scary disease, and it was helpful to have a trained medical professional in my corner who had experienced the same symptoms. Definitely felt like I was not treated like a number! Most doctors will tell you: don’t worry about it, 85% of people heal on their own. Pierre understands from first-hand experience that for people with Bell’s Palsy, having a 15% chance of not getting better is not acceptable and it is SO worth it to learn how to massage, stretch, and exercise your facial muscles.

I had an MRI with contrast that didn't show any specific problems that they could point to I felt really helpless but Pierre took his time and was very thorough in figuring out what could be going on. I was very unsteady on my feet, my gait was wobbly at best and I could not walk more that 1/3 of a short block without pain. I walked with a cane. Fast forward a few months to now where I don't need a cane, walking 1-2 miles 4 times a week with no gait or balance issues. The exercises he gave me were challenging and I stuck with it and have seen great benefit. He knows how to help those with challenges. Many physical therapists simply count reps and seem bored as they manipulate the patient's limbs etc. Pierre also has a thorough knowledge of anatomy which he applies individually to each client. I find the videos of my husband's exact session a huge help in doing exercises at home. Highly recommended.

My first visit didn’t change much and I almost gave up because of my previous experience with my Chiropractor. Experiencia fantástica: I've had sciatica in both legs off and on for over a decade and tried everything from surgery to chiropractic, acupuncture, and other physical therapists. After a particularly hard period that had me sleeping for only a few hours a night for multiple weeks in a row, I called up Pierre. After our first session I was already feeling a little better, and after our second it was like night and day from a couple weeks prior. I was back to sleeping throughout the entire night, and my waking hours weren't as plagued by sciatica pain while doing normal activities. He took a holistic approach to looking at my body and its weaknesses, as well as my work and home life to determine how best to work, relax, and sleep to avoid sciatica irritation. By our third session, I was feeling better than I had in months, and by our fourth, better than I had in years. After a decade of living every day in some kind of pain, I was at my wit's end. Experiencia fantástica: Before I met Pierre, I woke up every morning with severe stiffness in my back and sharp zinger down my right leg. I was pretty much limited in everything. Going to work and sitting in front of my screen throughout the day was excruciating. The most depressing was not being able to participate in hiking, skiing, rock climbing and riding my bike to work. Bending over to put my socks and pants on was difficult and super unpleasant. I have been working with Pierre for the past 3 weeks and I can say my back is feeling 95% better. Experiencia fantástica: I’m 64 YO and have had a lumbar spinal fusion (L4-L5) and a Total Knee Replacement (TKR) and I feel great, Thanks Pierre! Butheau Physiotherapy has seen me though both procedures with positive results. Let me tell you a story; After my fusion, the 30 day check up, I asked the Orthopedic Surgeon, why do I still have this knot in my back where most of the pain is coming from? He says, “Your facet joints have arthritis and we would have to go in and scrape them to relieve that pain”. I said NO. The Surgeon released me for PT and I found a local PT office to start my recovery. Pierre happened to be filling in at the office one day. I told him of the knot in my back and the pain I was having. He manipulated my legs and back in such a way that the knot and the associated pain were gone. It was a miracle! That sounds corny, but the pain I have been having for years, gone. All the doctors want to do it cut you open. My advise; try Butheau Physiotherapy a few times first. He treats your whole body. Pierre understands how your bones, muscles, and ligaments function together and can help you understand that too.

Experiencia fantástica: Pierre has literally improved my quality of life! I had a bout of severe vertigo and dizziness a few months ago. It came out of nowhere and scared the heck out of me. I went to the emergency clinic and they ruled out a stroke. Other than that they just suggested antihistamines! The problem go worse and I called my internist who prescribed steroids. The vertigo resolved. Less than 2 weeks later it returned with a vengeance. I saw my internist and she again prescribed a high dose steroid but this time told me at the end of the course to get Vestibular physical therapy. Pierre didn't take my word for it, he did an extensive exam to not only see what type of vertigo I was having but also based on his tests, where in my ear the problem was arising. The results of his thorough physical tests and watching my eye movement told Pierre exactly what specific exercises would alleviate my symptoms. Within 2 visits my symptoms were all but gone. He doesn't just look at the problem you present either. He noticed a lack of full flexibility in my neck. He was able to use both exercise and physical manipulation to improve my range of motion. I haven't had this much freedom of neck movement in years. So the combination of not relying on horrible steroids and improved flexibility demonstrate what I mean by improved quality of life! I would not hesitate to recommend Pierre. He comes to your home making it more comfortable and in my case I put on my own relaxing music.

He comes to your house if that works better for your schedule and he is really flexible in finding an appointment that fits your needs. He also makes videos of you doing your exercises, which makes it so easy to remember and review over and over. I also have gone to the physical therapy "factory mills" They just want to see the exercises they gave you and off you go. Pierre emails often and asks how things are going. Pierre is the best. You would be foolish to go anywhere else for your physical therapy.
