Experiencia fantástica: This is the only place to go for true healing. I have suffered with debilitating TMJ- it’s so bad my fingers go numb. I have debilitating nerve and muscle spasms- but after a session with Cody- I’m good to go. I feel comfortable seeing Cody as he is a doctor of physical therapy. I’ve seen other places that offer dry needling but the personnel is far less than qualified. Cody’s knowledge of anatomy is quite impressive. I suffered from horrible back pain for years, he assured me it was a problem with a chest muscle. I didn’t believe it- but after a reset to the chest, my back pain was permanently gone. Ailments I didn’t know could be treated have seen much benefit from dry needling. My reflux is under control, my allergies- I know it sounds quacky to list those ailments as benefiting from needling but I ASSURE you they will. We are bringing my 8 year old song for his flat feet that causes him chronic hip pain. Cammy in the front is excellent. Always an amazing-friendly and beautiful face to greet you. Cammy is quick at getting appointments and is always prompt when you’re on a wait list. The rest of the crew is knowledgeable in cold laser, stretches and dry cupping. 100% recommend

Experiencia fantástica: Steve was left with extreme pain in his leg after having cardiac ablation surgery. He was sent to many different doctors with none being able to help with his pain nor did they know why it was hurting. He had to use a crutch or cane to walk which cause an even more domino effect of problems. Our son had been to Athletic Advantage when he was a collegiate baseball pitcher and said it was the best help he had received for a shoulder issue and encouraged Steve to go. After only one session with Dr. Cody Johnson, Steve was able to walk without a crutch and his pain level greatly reduced. Dr. Johnson’s expertise and knowledge is tops! We look forward to Steve’s follow up sessions with Dr Johnson. No matter how far you have to drive to get to see Dr Cody Johnson, it is worth every mile!!

Experiencia fantástica: This is going to sound like a paid ad. I swear to God, it's not. I've been very athletic my whole life and the last 5 years my lower back and hips have been stiff, locked up, tight, painful. I had trouble bending down to tie my shoes or put on socks. I've been doing every stretch on Tik Tok I could find and nothing worked. Dr Johnson was at an event and in 5 minutes he took away 5 years of constant pain. I won't lie, I cried. Last few days I've been randomly touching my toes, squatting down, skipping etc just because it feels good. This has literally changed my life. I didn't realize how much a high background level of chronic pain affected my personality until it was gone. I'm relaxed, less irritable, more generous with kind words, slower to anger. He's got a fan, customer, friend for life. Can't wait to go back.

I’ve been taking my kids, both competitive dancers, for a couple months - one for ankle/arch issues and building overall strength and the other for bad sprain recovery. My kids look forward to going every time and will rearrange their schedule to make it work. I sprained my MCL a couple weeks ago and had my first session today - night and day difference from when I arrived to when I left. Dr. J and his team are thorough, patient, pleasant and fun to work with.

Experiencia fantástica: Athletic Advantage physical therapy is the best PT out of the many I’ve seen, including doctors. I’m a ballet dancer and I’ve been having Achilles tendinitis for the past 5 years and Dr. Cody Johnson (one of the PT’s there) got rid of it the day of. I also recently strained my hip flexor and he’s helped me so much with it and gave me mobility exercises to strengthen it back up. I’ve learned a lot from him on how to take care of my body. I’ve been going there for the past couple months and I’ve never felt better. They have helped me so much, I love them! The work environment is very nice. They are all so kind and helpful. I’m very lucky to have found them :) I 10/10 recommend to everyone!

So when I say that my experience with Cody is UNPARALLELED, know that it comes from a place of experience. Not only are you treated as if you’re a regular right when you walk in even if it’s your first time there, but his detailed level of care, knowledge, and creative approach make it so that whatever is plaguing you is swiftly cured. And if he can’t cure it right then and there, you’ll know exactly what to do and how long it will take in order to be pain free again. I’ve had so many PTs take either a halved approach or not accurately attack what needs to be dealt with. To have someone nail it right off the bat (and other things I never thought to address) without a million repeated visits is an experience in and of itself. Couldn’t recommend him more

Experiencia fantástica: Both my sons are student athletes, so we keep Cody on speed dial. He helps my boys recover quickly, and he makes sure they are stronger than they were before their injury. Cody understands people. You may walk in a stranger, but you will walk out of there feeling connected to everyone in the room. He knows his stuff, and he genuinely cares about every one he treats. But since my initial visit, I have been seeing magic in my recovery as well as prevention-related strength and overall health. The magic was a result of my therapist’s knowledge, attention, care, and a scope that everyBODY is different. Whenever I came in, and whether it’s a longer or short visit, I always knew that how I feel and how I can get better mattered to my therapist. I had hesitation because I have had quite a few experiences with physical therapy in the past and never really had promising results. But in a short amount at AAPT I have had such amazing results. I have just had my first visit and I already have more movement than I have in the last several years. Experiencia fantástica: Dr. Kristen Trapp has been treating me for back pain for the last 9 weeks. In that time my chronic back pain has been reduced, by at least 90%. I no longer take over the counter pain medication daily. Unlike other therapies I’ve had, I’m not just a passive participant. She has given me an exercise program to go along with the dry needling. The staff are engaging and I really have a fun time while I’m there. I strongly recommend Athletic Advantage, they are the best.

Monica, Madi, Steven, Michael, Dr Cody Johnson and Dr Kirsten Trapp are amazing. I have been personally treated by Kirsten. She is very kind, knowledgeable and extremely competent. I was hesitant about dry needling, but with Kirsten's patient explanation, performance of the procedure and the immense pain relief I have felt - I am becoming a fan! It is seriously life changing! Experiencia fantástica: Dr. Cody has done an amazing job in relieving my neck pain and headaches. My wife has much less pain and an increases range of motion after just a few visits. After about seven weeks of visits (twice a week for the first 2-3 weeks and once /week thereafter), she feels even better, has more mobility and her range of motion is better than it has been in years. We feel so fortunate to have this facility in our community. We have taken our 13 year old son who complained of some hip pain during baseball season. The dry needling has helped significantly as well as working the knots out of our muscles and completing the exercises.

I was never able to get my full range of motion back and didn’t think it was possible after trying a variety of treatments and techniques with other clinicians. Experiencia fantástica: I had been experiencing severe pain for many months where barely walking would agitate the pain in my lower back and shoot them down my legs. The pain would go up my back as well, basically just a whole lot of pain everywhere and doing even the smallest of tasks was tiring. MRI scans and Xrays showed a degeneration of the lower discs. Discouraged and defeated I came in to Athletic Advantage. But Cody helped a lot in making me understand that the pain CAN be managed and that the degeneration diagnosis didn't matter. Through a series of dry needling, hip mobility exercises, and rolling on the lacrosse ball, the pain/numbness in my legs went away. Within just 2 months, the pain was a lot more bearable. I have continued rolling and now 5 months since I first went in, I am back to my active lifestyle and the pain is hardly bothering me. The caring staff and Cody with his expert knowledge and optimism truly helped me get better. Thank you very much, Cody and team! I always have the best experience at Athletic Advantage.

I first came to the office with an ankle sprain I was sure was going to take me out of my next show. Experiencia fantástica: I started seeing Dr Johnson for lower back pain I'd been experiencing for approximately 8yrs due to a weightlifting injury. I've only seen him 3 times and not only has he dramatically improved my back pain through dry needling but he's also addressed several other issues I'd been dealing with that I thought were unrelated, but apparently weren't. In addition to helping my physical ailments, I enjoy the relaxed atmosphere and I always leave in a better mood than I arrived in. Like other reviews have mentioned, his staff is extremely friendly and personable and never make me feel rushed. In short, I have only good things to say about this business as a whole and I recommend you give it a shot if you're in pain!

Experiencia fantástica: Dr. Cody Johnson has superior technical expertise but more than that, he takes the time to observe his patients and focus in on the true root cause of problems. I had an ACL replacement 30 years ago and progressively over time began to limp. Cody asked me questions from different angles and it became apparent that he might have a solution without invasive surgery, which I had thought was imminent. After 2 visits my limp was gone and I began the process of rebuilding the muscles in my leg that had the ACL problem. I am skeptical about new methods especially when it concerns my health and fitness, but I could not be happier. I have lost 10 pounds, my form on the treadmill is improved and my leg’s stamina is getting better. I have recommended Cody to many family members and am beginning to believe that many aches and pains are associated with structural damage in another area of the body. North Dallas and the Mavericks are lucky to have Dr. Cody as a resource.

Experiencia fantástica: After a year of various treatments for ankle pain there was no healing or relief! I was referred to Athletic Advantage by a friend. Cody did an evaluation that honed in on the source of the problem and prescribed a treatment plan. Dr. Kirsten Trapp is overseeing my PT and making great recommendations for working on this between PT sessions. I am back to being active and playing my sport again. Getting the correct diagnosis, careful, caring implementation by Kirsten and some laughter and fun during sessions has made this a great experience. Everyone is helpful, knowledgeable and positive.

Experiencia fantástica: Dr. Cody Johnson gives a service I’ve never had anywhere else. I had back surgery (360 fusion L5-S1) 14 years ago. I’ve done all kinda of PT and the dry needling is the best I’ve come across. Having low back surgery young and continuing to stay very active in sports and the gym has left me with all kinds of pain. I’ve been to multiple different physical therapy facilities as I’ve had x3 hip scopes and x2 knee scopes (former runner). Every place is the same... the generic protocols are pulled out and a cookie cutter program is dosed out over the course of months... that works for some, others not so much. Cody’s attention to detail and understanding of the full kinetic chain of the body is unparalleled to anyone I’ve ever worked with. The individual hands on attention I get from him and his staff is bar none the best experience I’ve encountered. Cody is helping me address not only the issues I originally came in for, but some deeper mobility issues as well to help me get control of my body back. Super thankful to have found him through a referral at our local church... Cody is the David Blaine of the human body and a true master of his craft... give him a shot.
