Emory Rehabilitation Outpatient Center - Alpharetta: Opiniones
Experiencia fantástica: I really love this facility. First though, it is no longer located at the medical "hill" on Old Milton. It is now located across from the Publix in that Starbucks shopping center by the intersection of Old Milton & Kimball Bridge. I have been seeing Karen for carpal tunnel hand/wrist therapy & Amy from neck/shoulder/back pain. Both of them are absolutely amazing. I had actually been traumatized many years ago by a guy that did dry needling on my back but Amy has worked with me at a very slow pace to reintroduce it in a more gentle manner. She was actually able to help alleviate a headache that I had for a week with her therapy regimen in just one session. Lastly, Zilka that sits at the front desk is great. She is so friendly & really takes pride in her position. You can tell that their office actually cares about you as a person & you aren't just patient # 00123 to them.
Experiencia fantástica: Nicole is a great PT, she is extremely knowledgeable, kind, and most of all cares about her clients.

Experiencia fantástica: My Physical therapist took a lot of time to understand what was going on with my body. She Asked a lot of questions & listened to my responses. Every visit she inquires as to how I felt after the last visit as well as how I feel currently. She alters my therapy as needed. She is very professional & runs on schedule. I would highly recommend Amy at Emory Rehabilitation.

Experiencia fantástica: Emily is an excellent PT doctor, very knowledgeable and provides best-in-class service to her patients. She works closely with her patients, understands the problem and fixes the issue from the root cause. She is one of the best therapist doctor I have seen in years that takes genuine interest in her patients; and strives to fix the problem by doing proper diagnosis and then comes up with a program that is customized to the patient. I was in pain and discomfort for several months, until I met Emily who did the trick and resolved my symptoms. I strongly recommend Emily to address your physical therapy needs.
Experiencia fantástica: Amy has been fantastic in helping with my recovery, increase my range of flexibility and getting me back to my usual self!
Experiencia fantástica: Nicole is awesome. I look forward to go to PT.
Experiencia fantástica: Emily is an outstanding physical therapist with excellent knowledge and skills. She addresses all my concerns, patiently explaining all, and takes the time to ensure that I am doing my exercises correctly both in therapy and at home.. Emily also takes the time to review the prescription and communicates with my doctors as needed. All my sessions are hands-on and safely customized to ensure optimal results. I recommend Emily at Select PT without hesitation. She is truly a gem.
Experiencia fantástica: Emily and Amy are outstanding physical therapists. They truly care about my recovery and take the time to listen and address concerns that I might have. I would recommend both of them to anyone!
Experiencia fantástica: I’m glad, I decided this place for my physiotherapy needs. I must say that the physiotherapist Amy Leake is very professional, humble, and knowledgeable. I will recommend this location to anyone who needs such services.
Experiencia fantástica: I have Ehlers Danlos Syndrome and have worked with countless physical therapists over the past 15 years, only to end up, at best, in no better condition than I started, or (more often than not), even worse. Most claimed to know what they were doing (despite having no experience working with EDS patients), and would get annoyed or personally offended if I questioned the safety of certain exercises or if I dared ask if they’d consider reviewing information about PT for hEDS that I would bring to my appointments (which was what my geneticist that diagnosed me recommended I do). Despite my high level of motivation to work hard to get well, following treatment plans and doing my exercises religiously, the inevitable results were further injuries that took weeks or in some cases months to recover from. When I decided to give physical therapy another go and made an appointment with the Emory Rehabilitation Outpatient Center (in Alpharetta on Old Milton Parkway), I was filled with the by now familiar feeling of anxiety and dread, afraid to allow myself to get my hopes up that this time would be different. I got no sleep the night before my first appointment, wondering the whole time, “Will this be any different? Will they believe me? Will they listen to me? Will I end up bedridden for months again? Will I ever get any better, or is this as good as it’s going to get?” This level of anxiety would sound crazy to the average person, but I’m sure my fellow Zebras (hEDS sufferers) out there can relate. Within the first 5 minutes of my appointment, I knew that I’d finally found what I’d been searching for for the past 15 years. They listened to me, believed me, showed concern and empathy, and best of all, were genuinely excited to learn how to best help me. Even though they’d already treated hEDS patients in the past, they didn’t assume they knew everything there was to know. They understood that every hEDS patient is different and went out of their way to let me know that they were there to help me by learning from me. They encouraged me to give them any information I thought might be helpful or relevant (instead of being offended by it), and let me know I should always feel comfortable asking questions or expressing any concerns. They took things slow and were careful with me during the evaluation, always making sure they weren’t hurting me or pushing me past my level of comfort. They took the time to make sure I understood the difference between a safe and healthy level of discomfort for each exercise vs discomfort/pain that meant it was time to slow down, rest, or scrap that particular exercise and replace it with another that my body could tolerate. They figured out by the third appt how I could realign my hips without hurting myself even more. Physical therapy is considered a “double-edged sword” for people with hEDS or Joint Hypermobility Syndrome because while working with a physical therapist to build muscle to support the joints is crucial for improving our quality of life, pain and level of disability, etc., working with the wrong physical therapist can have serious consequences. Not only does one run the risk of injury and months-long set-backs, the damage to the connective tissue is cumulative and can can speed the progression of the joint instability and overall level of disability. With the right physical therapist, however, the potential benefits are nothing short of life-changing. Building muscle to provide the joints with more stability can make the difference between being wheelchair-bound vs walking on your own two feet; between being stuck in bed, waiting to hear about how your child’s piano recital went, vs going and seeing her play yourself. It can be the difference between a life of isolation at home vs participating in life with friends and family. I have no doubt that with Amy and her wonderful team, I have finally found the professionals I’ve been looking for, and can’t wait to see how much bigger my world will get by continuing to work with them. I can’t recommend them highly enough.
Experiencia fantástica: After a bad experience at another PT Facility, coming here was a breath of fresh air. Amy is amazing, knowledgeable, involved, hands on PT. I am really happy to have been referred here for my Cervical Spinal Stenosis and have a long-term care plan to help me through this diagnosis. Zilka is a great receptionist, very involved and has been helping to get a hold of my insurance to see if dry needling will be covered. I really appreciate her going above and beyond to help with this, when she really doesn't have to. I tell everyone how amazing Amy and Zilka are!
Experiencia fantástica: I almost never give 5 stars but receiving care at Emory Rehabilitation has been been an excellent experience so far. Both the office Manager, Zilka and my therapist Emily have been amazing. They are both knowledgeable, friendly and flexible with my crazy schedule. I would highly recommend PT at this facility.

Experiencia fantástica: Emory Rehab was amazing for me! After my microdiscectomy I had to request to do physical therapy - thank goodness! Emily was absolutely amazing, l listening to all of my questions and was fully prepared when I arrived. She knew my progress well and showed measurable increases in my mobility and worked with areas outside of my injury because of the link to the rest of my body. I'm so thankful for my time there! Zilka in the office is amazing as well!
Experiencia fantástica: Amy is understanding and thorough in her therapy. She's has a kind and understanding demeanor. She's the best!!!
Experiencia fantástica: I have gone to several different physical therapists over the years and I love this group. Amy is the best. She never asks you to do an exercise that causes you needless pain. She finds another exercise that helps to heal you. She explains everything to the patient.

Experiencia fantástica: Great facility, professional staff and very clean. My therapist Amy Leake is very knowledgeable and caring.
Experiencia fantástica: Amazing staff who makes you feel heard. I don't usuaually enjoy visiting medical offices, but this place is an exception.

Experiencia fantástica: Amy and Zilka are amazing! Amy is wonderful and caring. It such a pleasure to got here. She is very comforting, and I feel better every time I leave her office.
Experiencia fantástica: I’ve come to this Physical Therapy practice 2x (unfortunately), but have been so fortunate to have Amy Leake as my therapist. Her knowledge of how to recover from surgery has been my lifesaver. I did the exercises she recommended at home and with her when I was recovering from knee surgery 4yrs ago and my knee feels like it never had an issue after going to PT with her for a short 2 months. My only mistake was not coming back to her after my other knee surgery. I’m back because of an Achilles rupture. I’m 2 months post surgery, and I still have a long way to go. I’ve been to PT for 2 weeks, and I have hope that I will be back to my normal active self. Amy is fantastic! She addresses your weaknesses and makes them strong again. She knows what she is doing, and makes you better because of it. I highly recommend this practice!
Experiencia fantástica: Over the years I’ve had numerous reasons to have physical therapy and I can say the staff at your Johns Creek/Alpharetta location has been the best. Amy worked with me after my knee replacement and she is amazing, by far the best PT I’ve had. Zilka their office person is so nice and very helpful. I would recommend they to everyone I know. Judy Guven

Experiencia fantástica: Easy to locate with plenty of parking. Inside the outpatient center has a wide assortment of rehabilitation equipment and a caring and capable staff.
Experiencia fantástica: I had a great rehab experience for a ruptured disc. Always professional, attentive and on time. It was easy to get appointments, convenient and because it is a smaller location, no waiting and lots of personal attention.
