Experiencia fantástica: My family and I chose Canterbury House after doing a tour of the facility. The reviews on here worried us but once we observed the facility and staff we felt much better about sending our grandmother here. She ended up staying for 3 months for antibiotics and rehabilitation. The food was decent and the care was fast. She left better then when she came in and that's all that matters to us. I would recommend touring this facility

There is great retention with the staff which shows with the great care that is provided. This is an amazing place to work!

When the position for Customer Relations Director opened up, you couldn't get me transferred fast enough- The Canterbury House staff are all very enthusiastic about thier positions, they strive for perfection. The enjoy interacting and caring for thier residents! The housekeeping department does a fabulous job at keeping our building tidy and clean, the dietary department provide delicious meals with wonderful meal choices and alternatives, the activities are exciting and excellent providing fun and excitement!! Go Canterbury House for the wonderful job you do taking care of your residents, your team and providing a clean and healthy environment! I couldn't be more honored to be a part of such an amazing group of professionals!!

I work in this facility and I am always so happy when I talk to the residents and families and hear that they have had a great experience while with us. EMPRES and the management of Canterbury have always worked through any incident that was communicated to find the best solution and ending. I have enjoyed so many staff members and residents and have seen so many success stories and felt so honored to be part of it. Four of my own family members have been residents here for various reasons and they were treated with dignity and respect. They each commented on the kindness and quality of the staff and the cleanliness of the building. Canterbury house would be my choices a wonderful place for a loved one to recuperate from health issues. As a place to work this has been my dream career and I couldn't imagine it being any better.

I've been through the ups and downs every skilled nursing facility experiences, especially the past year and a half due to COVID-19. I stay for the residents. I stay for the people I work with - those that have moved on and those that have stayed. They are all a part of my extended family and I couldn't imagine being anywhere else. I know there are some bad reviews of Canterbury House on here and I understand not every resident or family member will always be 100% happy with the outcomes - but I know we all strive for positive patient outcomes and work extremely hard every day to make sure your loved ones get the best care possible.

Experiencia fantástica: I have had my own personal experiences. I was in therapy for about a month after breaking my knee. Caregivers we're very caring and go out of their way to help. It was Christmas time and my family was having their get together. I needed to spruce up a bit so I could go join them. The admissions coordinator went out of his way to wash my hair for me. I will never forget that. He was awesome.Now I am working here and love it and all the people.

Experiencia fantástica: I have worked at Canterbury House for a total of 13 years and counting. I have found it to be a very rewarding job. My fellow employees are a very compassionate and caring group of people that do their utmost to provide the best possible care and environment for our residents here. We have an excellent rehab department that diligently works to help our residents recover and get strong enough to discharge back to their homes that works in tandem with our nursing staff. We are continually working to improve our facility here. It’s been a pleasure being part of the Canterbury team.

Experiencia fantástica: I was really reluctant to come to this nursing home, I had a very bad experience in the past with my grandmother in a similar home. The gentleman from the admissions department gave me his personal cell phone number so I could call him at any time and talk to him, and assured me that this place was different. I decided to give it a chance. I found him very understanding and caring, and believe me I was scared to come. Coming in to heal from a major neck I jury, and i am younger than most people in this type of environment, so when I arrived, I was greeted by housekeeping, who showed me around and she has been a big support during my stay here. I want to start with the food, because that was one of the big complaints that I saw. Be advised I worked in the restaurant industry and grew up in an Italian family, therefore I feel I know good food and good service. Therefore I am very picky. The kitchen staff is AMAZING, the food was excellent, and I did not have a meal that I didnt like. And if there wasnt something on my plate that I wanted or didnt want, they made me something different. The kitchen manager went above and beyond to comply with my wants and needs, and did it with a smile. The people that served meals were always very kind and caring. The meals are served to us and we are waited on just like in a restaurant. I dont think the people get the thanks they deserve, so I would like to give a big thank you. You guys were great! I never saw anyone mistreated, and they're waited on hand and foot. The nurses are great, everyone was more than capable of answering any and all questions that I had, and if they didnt have an answer, they directed me to someone who could help. And major cudos to social services, they were very on top of my case, and fixed errors that were made after I discharged from the previous place that I was at. I never smelt a single stench or odor, like I remember as a child. Everyone is very well taken care of. So if I was to say anything negative at all, I think the government needs to give these places more assistance. These places are short staffed and underpayed at the hands of the government. I just want to thank everybody, and let people know that the staff here isn't just employees, they become friends; and for others they become family. People here are abandoned and have nobody, and there are those that just need help, and from what I've seen, everyone has done their job. I plan on coming back to volunteer, and these people have become my life long friends. Again, thank you guys for everything!

Experiencia fantástica: They took great care for my kids grandma and can't thank them enough for how they helped us and my family with caring for my kids grandma. If they ever need fireworks, they can come to Sons of Thunder fireworks at Firecracker Alley and my family will help them with the best deals.
