Experiencia fantástica: My dad was in this facility as his dementia worsened. The staff was kind and kept us informed. The building is older but overall I am pleased with the care my dad received.

Experiencia fantástica: My father has been here twice now. He has neuro deficits and doesn’t ask for help when getting up so he’s a HUGE fall risk. The staff has been very nice to my father & the family. They check on my dad very often and have taken all possible measures to prevent a fall! Sometimes the nurse calls just to say that my father had a good morning with therapy; or just to keep us updated. The administration listens to any concerns and will help improve on any needs also. The therapist have been very good & caring. The nurses/aids encourage rehab pts get up and moving if possible for the day. There is many activities, it seems like every 2 hrs something to attend. I’m a nurse also (so extra picky) & I know every pt would rather be home than at a skilled nursing rehab or nursing home; but when it’s not safe for the pt to be home quite yet this is a very caring facility to be at. My father also has a cochlear implant and is deaf without it, so they are attentive to his special needs and happy to help him. I always say, if family is able to visit often & share any concerns then you will be more pleased with the expectations! Cons: Food isn’t the best. The dinning room could be updated. Make sure name is on clothing or it will get mixed up in the laundry (there are about 100 pts, so it’s hard to know who’s clothes is who’s).

Experiencia fantástica: Never been there but my father in law is there. I know that they take good care of him. For those folks that give bad reviews I understand your concerns and know that placing a loved one in a home is difficult. I retired from the Army in 08, and as a nurse swore I would never work in a nursing home...but that's exactly what I've been doing for the last 9 years. Most of the staff truly care and love your loved ones. It takes a certain kind of person to provide the care that these folks need. And the few employees that find themselves doing a job they don't like, end up getting culled out eventually. Not saying everyone is perfect but with the cutbacks to Medicaid and Medicare, these folks don't make a lot of money. It's a frustrating job but rewarding as well. I'm writing this because I was worried that my father in law, who has dementia, wouldn't get to see the Astros play in the series. So I called and was politely assured that the game would be on in his room. So next time you go to see your loved one, thank the staff.
