Experiencia fantástica: I have had a great experience with Mark Ceglio, who has been patiently helping me with lower back pain that others couldn’t resolve over the course of a year and a half. We have worked together for 3-4 months, setting clear goals in our first session: to run, squat, and work at my desk without pain. In addition to learning how to perform exercises correctly, I’ve gained a much deeper understanding of my condition and how to manage it - thanks to our sessions. Experiencia fantástica: I started seeing Jack at joint ventures physical therapy in Cambridge due to some physical fitness concerns associated with a chronic health condition. Long-term lack of physical exercise due to chronic health issues, made it difficult for me to get back into the gym and raised concerns of injury during physical exercise. Over the course of my time with him Jack worked with me to increase my over all strength, address some concerns I had about mobility and stability, and customized my experience to ensure that I was able to meet my health and fitness goals in a safe and effective environment. I was able to achieve my goals of re-entering regular fitness safely and have been successfully participating in CrossFit classes for a few months now. I feel confident and safe both at home and in the gym, when I did not previously and I am very grateful to Jack for all of his support and guidance through this process.

As an avid runner, I sought physical therapy at Joint Ventures after months of chronic ankle pain that kept me from running. Eavan was incredibly patient and professional throughout my entire treatment process. She effectively explained the likely causes of my ankle pain, the exercises I needed to incorporate into my training, and why those exercises would help mitigate my pain. Thanks to the exercises and training plan Eavan provided, my ankle pain has completely gone away! I have been able to increase my mileage, return to competing in half marathons, and ultimately complete my first full marathon! I highly recommend physical therapy with Joint Ventures for any runner looking to address lingering pains that may be holding them back.

Jack had a very structured exercise plan that was progressively loaded and helped me recover within 2 months. By the 3rd month, i was able to run a 5k without any knee pain! Highly recommend! I now feel equipped to continue the exercise regime to keep the knee pain at bay.

I recently worked with Erin Ward on resolving a knee-related issue that had been bothering me for months. Erin is incredibly kind, patient, knowledgeable, and fun to work with. After just a few weeks of rehab I was running pain free for the first time in years! I really appreciated Jess explaining the science behind why certain things were working or irritating and found our sessions effective since we actually used the whole time to do exercises. I hurt my lower back in late Jan due to lack of exercise and wrong posture, Jack has not only helped me recover from my injury and pain, but also more importantly help me build a better relationship and routine with exercise. He checked in on my feelings and progress at beginning of every session, and followed up with email on notes and callouts. I had to stop my journey a bit sooner than expected due to personal reasons, and he made sure to leave me notes on things I can do on my own for the long run. Overall 10/10 recommend!

Experiencia fantástica: I worked with Erin for four months to rehabilitate a fractured ankle and return to sport. Coming into physical therapy, I was a bit skeptical of how much I needed it (thinking I would return to the field much sooner than I did), but Erin really showed me the benefits. Every single appointment she was ready with a host of challenging and incredibly beneficial exercises. Most importantly, I think she did a great job balancing the psychological and physical aspects of recovery, allowing me to challenge myself to regain confidence post-injury. I could not recommend Erin more.

She worked with me to identify my goals and create a roadmap to be back training/competing on an ambitious timeline. The progress I saw during our time together was amazing- a nagging injury that had been stagnating for months showed incredible improvement under her guidance. While we were working together I had an additional MCL injury (outside of PT)- Erin was able to pivot and change the treatment plan to accommodate new developments. Her professionalism and commitment to my progress made a world of difference, and I always enjoyed our sessions despite the circumstances that brought me there. Since my treatment with JV I have gone back to my previous training schedule and have learned a lot about preventative work in the gym that I have been able to work into my workout plans. Experiencia fantástica: If you’re near Kendall, Joint Ventures on Third St is an absolute no-brainer when it comes to PT. Having shattered my clavicle, I worked with Jack for many months for PT rehab and he was simply outstanding. First, in incredible contrast, I originally tried a PT place that is literally across the street from me (it’s a national chain with three initials). To my dismay, it was like a loud factory gym setup, with an open floor plan. I wasn’t into the whole online “gaming” of PT per task completion, and I felt like a number. After one intake exam, I left. In contrast, JV was relaxing, welcoming, quiet (private treatment rooms), and each session was always one-on-one attention for 40 minutes. For starters, not only did I need and receive the specific muscle/tendon massage required for the injury for much of my time there, Jack always put me through my paces in conjunction with my surgeon’s directions (it was originally a lot of stretching and eventually graduating to weight bearing exercises). I really felt like Jack was personable and kind, and we even had some fun working together. I couldn’t have asked for anyone better to help me through this journey, and will certainly to head back there after my follow-up surgery later this year. JV works with BodyScapes Fitness, which is great as we used their exercise equipment for weight bearing exercises. Plus, Jack helped me set up a “pre-hab” program (with an online portal) to continue my PT once I “graduated” — with weight lifting and stretching exercises to continue at home before the upcoming surgery. Additionally, both Mel and Caroline were aces at the front desk and always went above and beyond for me. They always helped me get set up with appointments, managed rare cancellations due to illness, and made everything (insurance, co-pays, etc.) a breeze. They both were both incredibly kind, engaging, and always brought a badly needed smile to my face before each session — which is huge. When you’re in pain post-injury, PT can be daunting and isn’t fun. Plus, it takes a lot of at-home effort in between sessions to recover. As Jack, Mel, and Caroline were a team who cheered me on every step of the way, that’s the kind of support that goes above and beyond and I’m genuinely grateful here. So, if you’re looking for PT, don’t give it another thought. Just get Mel and Caroline on the phone, and book your first appointment at Joint Ventures!

Started in the fall this time with Erin Ward for knee issues, and having worked through that, continued to get guidance on my overall weekly exercise routines. Experiencia fantástica: Jack Long is a very skillful PT with a kind, competent demeanor. After a thorough assessment, Jack went to the heart of what was causing the soreness and overuse of my hip external rotators, diagnosing gluteus medius tendinopathy. He prescribed several strengthening and stretching exercises, all of which I can easily find with video demonstration in my portal. Every visit he double-checked my positioning and gentle gave prompts to ensure good posture. Definitely 5 stars!

Experiencia fantástica: I spent roughly 8 months receiving treatment from Brittney B. after a severe ankle injury requiring surgery and cannot say enough great things. Prior to my injury I was very active, lifting weights, playing basketball, skiing, and was nervous about my ability to continue those activities after my injury. The 1:1 care from Brittney was phenomenal, she always willing to be flexible with the intensity of the rehab I needed on my ankle and knew when to push me a bit vs. lay off and take it easier. She always had a wide variety of exercises to help me rebuild every part of the mobility I need to get back to the highly active lifestyle I like to live. She always was willing to provide me personalized workouts and stretches to do outside of visits which were extremely helpful. Outside of the obvious PT expertise, Brittney is also a phenomenal person, we always had plenty to chat about and she is very friendly. Especially early in treatment when I had just gotten off crutches she was always optimistic about the recovery I could make. I am super appreciative for all of her time and effort over 40+ visits and would strongly recommend her to anyone seeking treatment.

I worked with Itua Eghe for several months after a neck injury. He developed a personalized care plan based on the activities and hobbies that are meaningful to me. Prior to physical therapy, I was unable to sleep due to neck pain and could not even carry groceries. After a couple months with Itua, my neck and shoulder is so much stronger and my pain is gone. The exercises Itua and I worked on had a huge impact on my health. He is also super friendly and supportive; all the employees I interacted with at Joint Ventures were very nice and helpful.

Experiencia fantástica: I came to PT for severe shoulder pain from working out and was assigned to Erin Ward for physical therapy. Shortly after starting PT with Erin, I was able to again sleep at night! After 4 months, I had completed PT and was again back in the gym, and also able to perform daily tasks such as picking up my baby, driving, and get dressed with minimal pain. With each session I could feel myself get better, and gained more strength and range of motion that I was not able to previously achieve. My time with Erin ended, and I left with knowledge such as proper form, and exercises/stretches that I still perform daily and will continue to do so. Overall, PT with Erin was an amazing experience and would recommend her for anyone looking to get fixed up and and be confident that you'll be leave there feeling fresh. The staff at the Kendall location were also very helpful, assisting with getting signed up, quick to answer any questions I had, and even reached out when there was a cancellation with open slots available.

Experiencia fantástica: I wanted to share the amazing experience I had at Joint Ventures with my physical therapist, Jessica Simbro. I came to physical therapy after a knee injury (runner's knee specifically, Patellofemoral Pain Syndrome) that I got while playing volleyball. I am 26 years old and relatively athletic (ran 2 half marathons), so I really wanted to get back to exercise without feeling pain. After a couple of sessions with Jessica, which were focused on increasing my muscle strength and stability (in legs and glutes broadly), I started feeling much better. Jessica gave me a personalized exercise home plan that gradually increased in intensity, and I started getting toned, gaining muscle, and feeling amazing. It felt like Jessica was not only my physical therapist but also a personal trainer, as she really took the time to align my training routine with what I wanted to achieve on the health and aesthetic level. Now, my knee pain is almost gone, I work out every other day, and I feel more toned than ever! To add to the above, Jessica is an amazing person. She is very caring and funny – we always have lovely chats while I come to PT. When I got sick, she sent me nice messages checking in. She is also very inspiring and encouraging, making exercise fun rather than a chore! All in all, I absolutely love Jessica Simbro at Joint Ventures and I highly recommend her as a physical therapist! If it was not for Jessica I would probably still be sad and had pain in my knee :D

Experiencia negativa: The patient coordinator set up a time to call me about getting scheduled, and then never called. I emailed and called with no response until the next day from the coordinator. We set up a second time for another phone call, and again I never received a call at the agreed time. Horrible customer service - the other reviews mentioning that the front desk never picks up the phone are true. I will be searching for a more responsive PT place for my treatment.

I genuinely appreciated his expertise and dedication. Itua's thorough assessment and personalized treatment plan were evident from the start. Experiencia fantástica: I have been treated at Joint Ventures Kendall on and off for years, and I have always been helped by the three PTs I have seen over time and very impressed by their knowledge and professionalism. That is especially true of Jessica Simbro who I am currently seeing.

Experiencia negativa: My 15 year old daughter was dismissed as a patient a months ago because she had arrive late. Eventhough we had reschedule it, so that it wouldn't be counted as missed appointment. The receptionist was extremely rude. On the phone with her , she says " let's see if there is a time that you can actually make it on time " and when I responded that, it was out of our control because of traffic. I received an email less than 5 minutes later after rescheduling, letting me know that we were disrespectful to the therapist time and the other patients! My daughter suffers from depression and sport is one way to help to support her mental health. I don't think this company staff have ever had any cultural proficientcy training.

Also, their team provides the most streamlined insurance processing backend that I have enjoyed to date, absolutely no headaches from my end were necessary. Experiencia fantástica: I am very pleased with my experience thus far at JV. The front office staff are very friendly, always greeting me and others with a smile. Scheduling has been very flexible too as they have numerous therapists at multiple Boston area locations which made it easy considering I work in the city. JV is very timely too with appointments always starting on time which I'm very appreciative of as it helps me stay on track with regards to my busy work schedule. My physical therapist, Brittney, has also been great as well. She is very attentive to my concerns with regards to my back pain and has been very helpful with coming up with an exercise routine that targets those areas to improve. As I have complimented her before, I have really appreciated the modernized, online exercise portal that is easy to access from home (I just log in on my phone) and and shows how to perform exercises/stretches along with frequency and number of sets. Other PT clinics I have been too usually just hand you a photocopy (of a photocopy of a photocopy) of an exercise sheet that can be very hard to read and understand, especially for newer exercises. Just two weeks into my routine with JV, and I am already feeling improvements. Highly recommend!

I came in with a persistent wrist injury that continued to flare up and I was at my wit's end on what to do next. Emily patiently, with compassion and also a good dose of humor, explained what my condition was, how it flares up, and what the path forward to healing is. I felt supported as I came in each week and Emily patiently answered all my questions, as well as gave straightforward guidance on how to continue my care while at home. Experiencia fantástica: I had been suffering from a chronic knee pain before I went to Joint Ventures following a recommendation from MIT Medical. At the facility, I was fortunate to be paired with Abbe. She is a knowledgeable, kind and pleasant person to work with. Training under her guidance on a weekly basis for 3 months gave me hope, belief and the positive energy to finally be healthy and feel strong. Her diligence in documenting my training routine helped me continue working out from home whenever I was unable to visit them in person. I strongly recommend Abbe and Joint ventures for anyone looking for PT in the Kendall Area. They are particularly helpful in accommodating folks with hectic work schedules such as Postdocs at MIT.

We quickly began a personalized exercise routine that ended up working very well. I made very rapid progress. Emily also provided me with various things such as exercise bands to help my rehabilitation. I very highly recommend Joint Ventures and Emily.

Experiencia fantástica: I did a few months of PT with Abbe Richards for an overuse injury from biking. I came in with months of recurrent pain, and little improvement from previous PT. Abbe was a consummate professional, suggested new exercises that approached the problem differently than my past PT, helped me tailor and find variations on those exercises so I didn't get bored, and told me very forthrightly when it was time to reduce my in-person sessions and continue to recover on my own. I credit my renewed discipline to PT and eventual full recovery to Abbe - thank you!

Thanks to Jess’s amazing care & help, I quickly got better, and by December I was able to run 10mi. This past weekend I ran the United Half Marathon in NYC which was an absolutely fantastic (& mostly pain-free!) experience that just wouldn’t have been possible without her amazing care & help! Experiencia fantástica: Edit 6/15/2021: the owner of JV has followed up with me to let me know the actions they have taken regarding accessibility issues at this location. The handicap button in the front of the building has been fixed and will be regularly checked. If opening a heavy door is an issue, the concierge at the residential building to the left of the main entrance can help you into the elevator. I will be adjusting my rating based solely on my PT session with Abbe. She was very caring and attentive. I very much appreciate the quick follow up and actions by David and JV. 6/10/21: if you use any assistive device like crutches or a wheelchair, it is worth noting that this PT office is not very accessible. The automatic door button at the front of the building does not work and the elevator is behind a heavy door that requires you to be able to pull and move quickly inside to avoid being hit. I would not be able to get to the office if I didn’t have someone holding the door open on my way in and out. When I expressed my concerns, the front desk did not seem bothered. If this issue is addressed, I will be happy to modify this review but it was the first time I have ever experienced such lack of concern for patients from a PT office. My PT Abbe was wonderful to work with and kind which is why this is review isn’t one star. I will not be returning to this location.

Experiencia fantástica: Life-changing therapy! Due to covid lockdown and my health club shut down, I, like many others, experienced pelvic floor issues. I was referred by my health care provider, Mass General, to Joint Ventures for pelvic therapy. Over a couple months, Dana imparted both significant anatomical knowledge and straightforward, simple, and effective exercises to accomplish my goal. She went above and beyond to address some other minor muscular issues caused by just too much sitting around, which likely exacerbated the problem. The facilities are excellent; the staff welcoming, friendly and adept with insurance procedures, even Medicare. To anyone experiencing pelvic problems, I highly recommend them over multiple trips to a pharmacy for items that aren’t environmentally friendly … there is another way! Thanks so much, Dana!
