Avamere Rehabilitation of Beaverton: Opiniones
Experiencia fantástica: My mother was placed in this facility (9/3/15) to get hospice care for cancer in her lungs. The facility was always clean and the personnel were always professional and pleasant. My mother became close to several of the attendants (especially Abby). I was new to this process and was frequently asking them questions. They were helpful every time I interacted with them. Mom had some issues with the food, but I think it was more about her issues than the food. Every meal I saw was well cooked, nutritious with plenty to eat. I would highly recommend this facility for anyone who needs assisted living or rehabilitation.
Experiencia fantástica: my experience has been great! The girls are happy to be here! I think the Peale who has a problem with these great people need to look at yourself! ! I stay here in room 12. these girls work hard for there little pit of money that they do get to
Experiencia fantástica: I was admitted here for rehab the end of March after I had half of my right leg amputated. I came here alone, scared and depressed. The staff here were so welcoming and kind. Everyone from the administration to the nurses and CNA's gave me the best of care for the 21 days I was here. The Occupational and the Physical therapists were the best. I was so impressed with the care I received that when I had a total hip replacement in August I asked to be sent back here. Thank you guys for all you have done!!
Experiencia fantástica: My Mom stayed there for 24 days. She's doing a lot better now and that's due to ARB. Let me get this out of the way. Yes, the outside looks ok, Yes it's hard to find parking out front during the day so park in the back, Yes some of the units are a bit rough/needs updating and Yes it's the staff on the inside that makes you overlook the insignificant things mentioned above. Some input from someone that didn't know much about skilled nursing as I had a biased -- all skilled nursing facilities have fewer nurses to patients by design. It's presumed your loved ones is discharged by a doctor to go here. However, what most people overlook is the ratio of PT/OT to patients -- which is MUCH higher and this is why you send your loved ones here. To set the best expectation for your loved one -- someone from your family/friend NEEDS to be their advocate at ANY skilled nursing facility. If possible they need be present as much as possible. This will make an impact to their recovery. I was fortunate to visit everyday and got to see how a skilled nursing facility operates and see their strengths and weaknesses. I tried to tried to help on the weaknesses if possible. Here's my Mom's experience. She was discharged from the hospital where she stayed over 30+ days. We did an early evening admission when the day crew was done for the day (i,.e., try to do a morning admission if possible). There is fewer staff and I had some communication challenges with the admission nurse. I was a bit worried for my Mom. However, all of my reservations were addressed as I came back the next morning to find out that PT had already stopped by and had my Mom out of bed walking. The day crew (where most of the core work is done) is on top of it. Where ARB stands out is the hospital is short staffed for PT/OT that only worked with her once every 3-4 days. So it was great that she got PT the next morning! Again I was fortunate to visit everyday. In-person communication is how you'll get the best updates and trying to get updates via the phone is challenging for everyone (i.e., loved ones and I see how busy the nurses are here). Here's why this was key to my Mom's discharge. From the get go I worked with the nursing care manager (Jon Starlight) to build a plan of what we needed from ARB for my Mom. His ability to communicate (i.e., prompt/pro-active) is what made the difference in keeping my Mom there. I will never forget Jon hand delivered my Mom's medicine because the nurse was busy! He does the things that get overlooked by the patients and probably management. They are not perfect. There's new staff each shift and you must understand how challenging it can be asking each person to know exactly what your loved one needs. Again, this is not the hospital that's where you can help. Did they have long call button wait times -- yes but that's where you come in and if urgent track down the nurse or ask someone for help. They take the patent's vitals at a minimum every four hours and when you get back from a doctor appointment. No one will turn you down if you have a question or need help. Everyday the plan was executed and the nurses/PT/OT/helpers were great to work with. They really want to see your loved ones get better. This is my way of giving back... Did you work with the care manager to contribute to the discharge plan? Did your loved one get a roommate? It might be good if they prefer the social interaction. Or just ask for a private room. It's not bad if ARB does something different vs. the hospital. Just ask them if you have questions. Don't presume they don't know what they are doing. Does your love one dislike the food? It's actually not that bad and better than the hospital. They have alternative options on the menu AND ask them if you can bring in food for them. Nutrition IMO is the catalyst in getting them better. You'll be surprised how much quicker someone will get better if you can do PT/OT with them in addition to their PT/OT times. Keep in mind, PT/OT doesn't happen on the weekend.
Experiencia fantástica: My first time in a Skilled Nursing Facility at Avamere of Beaverton. After surgery, I spent 4 days there to recover after my skiing accident and I was pleasantly surprised at how organized this place is and how upbeat a lot of people are! They have their ducks in a row. Mia the director always greets you with a warm hello, LadyByrd came by to chat to make me feel welcomed, Barbara - getting everything that everyone needs at the speed of light, Melony and Robert - making sure everyone has their meds and offering to bring me coffee :b , Este - who gave me a shower after not having one for over a month! Rica who is always going above and beyond with a great attitude to extend a helping hand. Spanish mama who gave me extra protein sausages when I needed it =). PT, Brice for his kindness and wealth of knowledge and Dr. Julien for making it happen to discharge me =). And to all the CNA and nurses that helped me 32A, you have been wonderful and the cooks that have cooked all the delicious meals.Thank you all!
Experiencia positiva: I had my 93 year old brother at Avamere for about 3 weeks. His cognition is excellent but he lives alone and had 2 falls that injured muscle and soft tissue. The Staff seemed fairly good. He had a private room and the meals seemed to be good. However, when he needed something and pressed the nurse call button, there was seldom a punctual response. On one occasion, it took 40 minutes for someone to come to his room and the room was less than 20 feet from the nurse’s station. If he had been having a heart attack or stroke, his chances of staying alive would have been slim. Staff also tends to gather in the halls and laugh and talk loudly; not what people who are in pain want to hear.
Experiencia fantástica: It’s a wonderful place to work. The atmosphere is wonderful! Please come and visit take a tour
Experiencia fantástica: Avamere in Beaverton Oregon is the best. I give them a higher rating than 5 stars. The staff is so loving and caring! I can’t thank them enough for all that they have done for me, making my stay much better than I could ever imagine. The staff at Avamere Beaverton cares about you as a person more then just a job! Once again I can’t thank them enough for all their loving care! Tonia the administrator is the best!
Experiencia fantástica: This facility has a great staff who really care about the patients and residents. Working with them is a privilege.
Experiencia fantástica: Avamere Beaverton took excellent care of my husband. When he got there he could barely sit up in bed and within 2 weeks he was up and walking. The food was amazing. The staff was very caring and attentive. I was so thankful to everyone there for how safe they made me feel leaving my husband in their care.
Experiencia fantástica: I couldn’t be more proud of the work our CNA’s and Nurses do every day to make sure our patients are safe and well cared for. Many patients or family members are quick to judge on the time of transition from hospital to our SNF, but I hope every person that enters our doors knows that the people working every day are dedicated to doing the right thing day in and day out. If your goal is to make sure your loved one receives the right care at the right time, then I would entrust any of my own loved ones in the warmth, compassion, and camaraderie I witness every day. We are here to make sure your loved one gets to where they need to be and we are ready to work with you to make that happen. Avamere Beaverton has one of the lowest turnover rates in this avenue of medical care. I truly believe that is due to our culture of diversity and respect. We embrace nuance, change, and offer many perspectives and walks of life to accommodate your loved ones with the priority of safety and quality. If you are not OK with different accents, appearances and backgrounds; then our location may not be for you. We have fantastic rehabilitation success rates. I do not recognize the names of most if not all negative reviews. Most positive experiences don’t leave reviews and that’s fine. We’re here to be genuine and get the work done to make sure your loved one gets the most out of their care. THANK YOU to our CNAs , Nurses , Med techs, housekeepers, therapists, dietary staff, social workers, physicians and office staff. This work is impossible without you. Thank you for entrusting us to care for your loved one. This is what we do!
Experiencia fantástica: Work for the company for over 15 years love the sense of community within the facility. Myself and the people I work with have a passion for what we do and care for our patients.
Experiencia fantástica: Avamere Beaverton is a cheerful place where the smiles shine thru the masks worn by all employees. There is always someone nearby and available to help with whatever situation arises. Coming from another skilled nursing facility, I can say this is a welcome change. My fellow work family truly cares for our residents, residents families and for each other! I'm proud to be a member of such a great team, skilled nursing location and the Avamere company! However, I challenge anyone that works in healthcare or SNF industry to come find out for themselves.
Experiencia fantástica: At 76 it took me a while to figure out how to post a review . I wrote one several times but it couldn't figure out how to post it. I think I've got it figured out this time. I spent 2 weeks at Avamere. The staff was courteous, helpful, caring and Supportive with every person there I made it a point to tell the director what an impressive staff he had. It was nice to be able to go home. I do have to say I miss everybody over there and hope after my next surgery they have a bed for me. I highly recommend the Beaverton Avamere
Experiencia fantástica: Thank you guys so much for all the care you show while helping us find a place for mom and dad. Nice when you feel like more than a number. I hope they enjoy many years in your care.
Experiencia fantástica: I am a 70 year old man. I entered Avamere Beaverton after a stroke lacking the ability to talk, walk, drink, or eat. I was overwhelmed by my reception. I was given a nice room and immediately cared for by a highly trained group of their staff in all areas including medical, voice therapy, throat therapy, and physical therapy. I was assisted in my every need by their staff. Their staff at every level, were very friendly. I am going home having 90% recovered. Their therapists will be coming to my home to continue my full recovery. At this point I can eat and drink, talk, and walk. I will be forever grateful for the family of Avamere Rehabilitation of Beaverton.
Experiencia positiva: Really good people working here... though sometimes a bit chaotic (which is to be expected on occasion). Very friendly and helpful staff. However, the physical facilities are getting rather tired... worn-looking. Parking is poor.
Experiencia positiva: I was a patient for 17 days. Everyone was friendly, helpful, and professional. Food was okay. Not much taste, and portions were small. Four occasions I had trouble receiving my meal. Twice I didn't receive it, and twice it was given to someone else. Cleanliness was barely adequate . The bathroom smelled bad, and needed a deep cleaning. Attention in answering the room call button needs to be addressed. Many times I waited over an hour for the call button to be answered. Once it was over 4 hours. A serious problem if I had a life threatening episode . The therapists were outstanding, as were some of the nurses aides. Laundry services were lacking. Often I had clothes misplaced, with some actually being lost. A better way of marking the clothes needs to be done.
Experiencia fantástica: My mom is here now recovering from a massive stroke. She is a young, vibrant, amazing woman. So for her to suddenly need so much care has definitely been a big shock and incredibly difficult time for her and our family. But thankfully, she came to Avamere Beaverton. We love their staff and care team! And so does my mom. Nurse Tania, Juan, Hailey, Hannah, Sam, Mona, Megan, Debbie, Elizabeth, Dr. Chiruse- those are just a few of the amazing people taking care of her right now. We really appreciate them and my mom has made significant progress under their skilled care. It isn't easy sending a loved one to a SNF during a pandemic, in fact it feels absolutely terrifying. If you're researching SNFs right now, like I was just a little over a month ago, I want to let you know it's going to be ok and Avamere Beaverton is a great place. They are all one floor, with windows in every room. If you want to visit your loved one at their window, you can. We do all the time. It's tough not being able to go inside, but I appreciate how careful their team is and I'm really impressed with their Covid-19 safety screening and testing procedures. When you go to visit, you'll see how nice the facility is. They decorated the lobby really cute for Halloween and even did a fun, Nightmare Before Christmas theme. If your loved one likes bird-watching, this is a great place for them. You'll see bird feeders by almost every window! They have a really cute courtyard too. My mom tells me everyday how sweet the staff are and how much she appreciates them. As her daughter, I'm constantly worried and wondering how she is doing, especially since I can't go inside. I promise you, this team really cares. They appreciate proactive communication and you should never hesitate to reach out and be a part of your loved one's health advocacy. Anytime I was worried about anything, I was always able to chat with someone who helped me and made sure my mom was ok. I'm so glad we chose Avamere Beaverton, they've made a big difference in my mom's recovery and for that we are forever grateful.
Experiencia fantástica: I want to give Avamere Beaverton a shout out!!! After seriously injuring both ankles I needed to recuperate before I could head home....I was taken to Avamere Beaverton. I was pleasantly surprised by the care and companion I received. I had no major issues while I was a resident, only a couple minor ones, and they were handled quickly and thoughtfully.
Experiencia fantástica: My mom had hip~ replacement surgery and was sent to Avamere for rehabilitation. The Staff did a awesome job with her care Administration,Nursing,CNA,PT,OT,Speech therapy,Dietary, the entire Avamere Staff.I want to Thank you guys wholeheartedly for your hardwork and dedication.Thank you Avamere Beaverton!
Experiencia fantástica: My mother was placed here after we spoke with someone at the hospital she was at. We were given 3 choices and we picked Avamere Beaverton. I am glad we did. She was attended to often, and given plenty to do as far as physical therapy. She was also given cognitive tests. They had very nice things to say about her, and if her direct line wasn't answered, I could call the front desk and they would immediately check to see if she was asleep, in the restroom, etc. I am so sorry that other reviewers have not had a positive experience, but I wanted to share ours that was. Thank you Avamere. Mom is home with us now :)
Experiencia fantástica: The entire staff is caring, nurturing, friendly. Not only do they work tirelessly but they do it happily. My father spent time in both the Rehab facility and the Skilled Nursing facility departments. Both teams were amazing. Send your loved ones here..
