Experiencia fantástica: Where do I even begin? I started seeing Corey Walden at Thrive Integrated Rehabilitation Services for pain and stiffness. I had back surgery and both knees and hips replaced due to degenerative disk disorder. I was so frustrated with my body because I thought after each surgery I would be able to move more like I used to. I'm 62 years old and I couldn't walk or stand for any length of time. Every time I moved I hurt. I couldn't reach down to pick anything up off the floor let alone get up off the floor if I fell or just needed to get down on my hands and knees. I felt like I would be disabled the rest of my life. Corey first approached the work to relieve my pain. Then he would work with me to get rid of the stiffness and help get my functional movement back. I am now pain free. He has been working my neurological and vascular systems to get to the root of my problem. Apparently, with all my surgeries, my brain decided my body needed to protect itself and everything just stiffened up. After several months of weekly visits, I can now say my movement is better than it has been in years. I can get up off the floor, I went on an African safari, I can garden again. These are things I could not have done a year ago. I don't pretend to know how it works. He explains everything he is doing and all I can say is the body is a very complicated system. What I like about Corey is he doesn't just treat the symptom, he wants to address the root problem and the problem may not be at all what you think. I'm still seeing him and we will likely wrap up my treatment before long. I highly recommend Corey and Thrive Integrated Rehabilitation Services. It is not traditional treatment so go in with an open mind. I promise you, it will change your life for the better..

He is incredibly knowledgeable and explains everything as he goes. I have been telling everyone I know about him!

Experiencia fantástica: What a blessing Corey has been for me. I started out coming to him since I’m a Professional Dancer and have had lots of injuries over the years. I have tried everything, PT, chiropractor, massage, acupuncture and many more. All were good but they weren’t completely healing some of my chronic injuries. Boy when I tell you it’s a trip and like nothing else I’ve experienced but it works! He has SO much knowledge and genuinely cares about the progress of the people in his care, which isn’t always the case in healthcare. I could go on and on but if you’re open to the journey and patient your life can change. I’m now dancing better than ever and feeling pain disappear. He’s ahead of his time with this science and expertise so I would highly recommend him to literally everyone, no matter the situation!

Experiencia fantástica: I am 60 years old and wanted to improve my golf game. Corey did some evaluations and saw that my body was fighting itself during upper body rotation (very important to a golf swing). He did some work to convince my brain that rotation was not a problem. He also gave me some exercises to improve rotation. Long story short, I shaved 5 strokes off of my handicap and won the tournament league that I play in. The league is handicap based and has about 600 members.

Experiencia fantástica: I had a lower back injury that was causing problems for ten years suddenly a nonissue after two sessions with Corey. Truly, a wonderful and kind practitioner.

Experiencia fantástica: A year and a half ago I hyper extended my knee that left me unconfident to keep playing flag football with my friends. Also was dealing with inflammation in my knee that wouldn’t go away for several months. I was referred here by a friend and received about 6 sessions. After the 2nd session my inflammation in my knee was pretty much all gone! As well as feeling like I had more use and more confidence in my knee to take the stresses of exercise and playing football. Again the other month in January I twisted the same knee again, and again dealt with inflammation that wouldn’t go away. After one session my inflammation went back down again and my knee is again ready to go. I definitely recommend going here for any injury you have suffered that has become chronic or even acute. It was a life saver for me.

Some of these ailments I suffered from for many years!! He is the best that I have ever been to. Would recommend him to all my friends and family!!

Experiencia fantástica: Corey is an amazing practitioner. He has helped me resolve both long-term and acute issues that were causing my body pain and dysfunction. The most recent example is that I had a flare-up of some incredibly intense and persistent calf pain. I had never had it before and didn't understand what caused it. I went to one other practitioner, and they were not able to help me. Corey saved the day. He explained what the problem was and then resolved the issue. His methods are non-traditional but highly effective. I am happy to be pain-free ever since. Corey is the first and most-trusted person I turn to when I experience pain. He is also friendly, considerate, patient, non-judgmental, and constantly learning to improve his craft. I would highly recommend him to anyone.

Experiencia fantástica: I came in with multiple issues. My constant sciatica pain is gone! My hip pain is nearly gone. My shoulder pain is gone, my knee pain is gone. I am so happy, the bottom line is all my pains are going away with Corey’s technique and I don’t have to take pain meds! He explains everything he does and why and it’s fascinating to hear. I would recommend and have referred many people to Corey. It’s so worth it!!

His treatment bed is not very comfortable that would be the only thing that was not comfortable that’s why the four star

Experiencia fantástica: I have had chronic back & joint pain for years from martial arts, home improvement projects & horseback riding. A few years ago I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia and rheumatoid arthritis. I knew I did not want to take the traditional pharmaceutical drugs because they can leave you very lethargic and feeling foggy. So I start working with my naturopathic physician on alternate methods. I also knew that I needed to find an exercise program or trainer that would help me with a work out program that would help to improve the pain & mobility issues I was starting to have. In this research I found Corey and liked how he had gone through some of the things that I had growing up and that he didn’t look like your typical trainer. I started working with him in February 2017. He was very understanding & knowledgeable about fibromyalgia as he already had several people that he was working on with the same condition. He helped me create a multifaceted plan with NKT, Movement Therapy & at home exercises to increase my movement & ability to do things around the house AND decrease my pain and joint stiffness. A few months after starting to work with him I was able to move around 500 pounds of brick for a sidewalk project that we were doing at our house and still went to lift weights with him a few days later! Previously I would have been laid up for weeks with very limited ability to move and in a humongous amount of pain! He has a great way of being encouraging but also push you to do more than you ever thought you could do. Without his help I would not be able to do even half the things that I can do today!

Experiencia fantástica: To say Corey has changed my life might be an understatement. I've been battling chronic migraines for almost 10 years now, on top of TMJ pain, whiplash accidents and multiple concussions, my body was in a constant state of discomfort and pain. Exhausted of being pumped full of drugs for the sake of short term relief, doctors pretty much told me I was SOL unless I wanted to continue being a test subject to whatever pill came out next, or surgery for my jaw. I felt like I've tried everything; specialists, acupuncture, chiropractor, physical therapy, etc. I basically convinced myself that this was my life now and to buckle up for the challenging ride of living with chronic pain and accept it as normal, after all, there's nothing more that could be done, right?... Corey has been the first person to tell me that I CAN and WILL be able to find relief (excuse me, what?!), he's been the first person willing to work with me and show me that I'm not a lost cause. I don't quite understand his line of work, but you can feel the passion he has for it, and the passion for caring for others. He is always willing to pause what he's doing and explain the "why" behind things. It's super fascinating and I learn so much each session. I feel like a completely new person. Each day I'm in awe that I can live without pain, for so long I had no idea what that would feel like. I recommend Thrive to anyone and everyone. Experiencia fantástica: I had the opportunity to have a session with Corey at Thrive. It was one of the most informative and mind-changing experiences I've had in a while. Corey is amazingly knowledgable about his speciality (which is how the body's muscles and brain interact with each other) and was able to address an issue that most alternative health professionals told me would require surgery. Needless to say, I highly recommend Corey to anyone looking to address anything from an irritation to a chronic physical issue... before considering surgery.

Experiencia fantástica: I saw Corey for some back pain I've been having after searching for a Portland physical therapist. I have to say, he goes way beyond what I was expecting, and this is MUCH better than any physical therapist! Instead of just focusing on the problem area, Corey spent our entire first session getting to the root problem. Rather than just rubbing out a tight back (which countless others have done), he tested reflexes and studied my muscles to figure out where my body was compensating for other issues. Sure enough, he found a few key spots that were causing the back problem...and they weren't anywhere near my back. After some work I walked out feeling SO much better, and SO much more knowledgeable about how the body works, since Corey puts forth such an effort to educate you along the way. I'd highly recommend his services to anyone with some sort of pain or discomfort, especially if it's been recurring.
