Experiencia fantástica: I got extremely sick last month and got very dehydrated from losing fluids. I came to the ER at about 11pm and was very pleased. They gave my antinausea medicine and an IV to replenish my fluids. They ran lots and lots of tests to try and figure out what was wrong with me. They nurses came to check on me often to make sure I was comfortable. They were so nice! It was a bit of a long night but I was appreciative that they did everything they could to figure out what was wrong instead of sending me away after I had stopped puking. Great experience. I feel so much better now. Very glad I made the trip.

Experiencia fantástica: My family has always received excellent care here. All of our families children are born here and have been for generations. We have always recieved beautiful care from this Hospital. Our youngest child who was 5 at the time broke his arm at the ymca and was rushed to the ER because it was such a bad break. He was treated with great care and love. My oldest son was rushed to the ER when he was 10 and had his apendix removed, after the surgery the surgeon informed us that on our sons ex-ray it showed that he might have Spina Bifida. After having him tested it was determined that he did in fact have Spina-Bifida and his spinal cord was tethered to the base of his spine. He was born like this and it wasn't until we took him to the IU Health BLoomington ER that this was properly identified, had this wonderful Doctor not found this our child could have very easily become paralyzed. The Booomington Hospital set us up with a wonderful Neurologist at IU Health Riley who assured us of her ability to do our sons spinal cord surgery. If you are a parent then you know that there is nothing in this world worse then your child being sick and there is nothing you wouldn't go through or do to help your child and when we could no longer help our son the wonderful doctors and nurses at Bloomington hospital did. I applaud and give my deepest respect to the Doctors and nurses at Bloomington Hospital.

Experiencia fantástica: Fast ER experience with responsive, skilled care for our son who had acute appendicitis. Fantastic patient care (including emergency surgery) by Dr. Haddad, nursing staff, and team. Thorough and clear communication to our son as the patient (IU student) and to us as parents. Grateful for their expert care when we needed it most.

Experiencia fantástica: I just had my baby at the end of November and the Labor and Delivery ward completely exceeded my expectations! Not only were my rooms clean and comfortable, but every single nurse went above and beyond to make sure me and my baby were safe and taken care of. They all made sure to educate me on all of my options and explained everything they were doing. When it came time for delivery, it felt like all the nurses in the room were celebrating alongside me and my family when my baby came into the world. We also had the loveliest lactation consultant named Nancy who was so helpful in teaching me how to properly feed my baby. Overall, I had an amazing experience and it wouldn't have been possible without the IU L&D nurses and staff!

Experiencia positiva: Guy at the cafeteria was nice. Nurses were nice as well. Though one of the doctors could use some better bedside manner. Place was cleaned, like the shirt color name board, a little disorder, but better than a lot of other places.

Experiencia fantástica: I was in the ED yesterday after an injury. There were no rooms and the waiting room was busy, yet I triaged quickly and efficiently. I heard a lot of complaints from people waiting, but observed that people being triaged and prioritized appropriately. Everyone was friendly and kind. **Remember folks, the walk-in clinic is a more appropriate choice for many ailments! I tried to go to the ortho clinic and walk-in clinic first, but was referred to the ED due to my specific circumstances.** Dr McNicolas, PA Nicole, nurse Brooke, and Celeste were all thorough and gracious. Keep up the good work y’all!

Experiencia fantástica: Went into hospital thru ER, ended up on third floor. I want to personally thank the nurses who cared for me for 11 days I was in the hospital. Everyone was so good to me, again, thank you so much. Ended my stay with Cassie, she was amazing as were all who helped me. I highly recommend this hospital, not from around this area but I would drive the 125 miles to go there. Doctor Ali was outstanding and I can't thank the nurses I had enough for their care for me.

Experiencia fantástica: My husband is part of an immunotherapy therapy infusion trial in Sacramento, CA. (We live here in Bloomington) He needed blood work drawn and results ready the next morning for s zoom callI, with his oncologist. Micaela, lead coordinator for the trial at the UC Davis Complete Cancer Center in Sacramento and Mandy, a nurse at the IU Bloomington Hospital infusion clinic, worked together to get the lab orders, the lab work completed and the results for the morning zoom call. Mandy was so helpful, very patient kind, knowledgeable etc., and we appreciate her. She deserves kudos. Thank you, Mandy!

Experiencia fantástica: Back in Feb I spent a week with kidney infection and stone. Nurses and Dr's were awesome as were the techs.

Experiencia fantástica: Went to the hospital for a rolled ankle and needed X-rays. Paige in Radiology was phenomenal! I got helped immediately and there were people who made sure I was in the right place! Everyone was so nice!

Experiencia positiva: My only complaint about the new hospital is that it is too small. Why the hospital is smaller than the old hospital is unfathomable! I have been in the ER myself, and taken my sister several times. Exceptional care is received every time. The staff is amazing! Twice my sister was kept in the ER for an extended time because there were no beds available. Once she was there 23 hours, the other time about 25. This resultes in the ER being crowded. Also, patients are on gurney instead of a bed and are uncomfortable. We need a bigger hospital!

Experiencia positiva: I go there all the time for blood work. The phlebotomists in the lab are all amazing, I've never had a bad experience with anyone. I've always gotten to go back pretty quick too. There isn't a lot of privacy in the lab, but I've also never seen anyone in there at the same time as me. Check in has always been easy and everyone is very kind. I appreciate that masks are still mandatory (at least the last time I was there). The people at the desk as soon as you enter the front door are always very helpful and kind. I do not like the location for the new hospital though, and I do think it is a bit extravagant.

Experiencia fantástica: Food court is amazing! Great food for super cheap! If you like sushi, I highly recommend trying their's when they have it, because it's the best I've ever had!

Experiencia fantástica: We were just discharged yesterday after adopting a baby boy that was born here this week. I cannot express my level of gratitude towards this hospital and the nursing staff. They set us up in a room next to the birth mother and were so helpful and kind. Wanted to shout out just a few of the amazing people (pardon my spelling), thank you Jamie and Hope on the night shifts and on days Alayna, Chelsea, and Hannah the NICU nurse who floated to help. Her catch on the nipple he was using to eat turned his eating around for the better. We couldn't have been in any better hands than we were this week! Thank you all for everything you all did for us.

Experiencia fantástica: These Drs are some of the best there bed side was great for me and Jim. The nurses are fantastic on that floor Jim was in great hands till the end. They had a couple of nurses that was in and out all day and night about every 5 minutes or so. Always seeing if the family anything at all. The 4th floor rocks. Jim was in 4106 June 3rd - June 9th and I appreciate all you staff done I'm very grateful. I'm sorry I can't remember the the nurses names. The night shift with dark was so caring and gentle with him even though he wasn't conscious any longer. Thank you for all you do ❤

Experiencia fantástica: I went to IU hospital Bloomington with a heart attack The Cath Lab team was waiting for me and took me right back to surgery. They put in 4 stints a nd balloon . I was there for 4days and I was treated so special. I cannot say enough good things about my wonderful care. I probably had 15 or more people take care of me and I couldn’t find fault with anyone of them!! I definitely recommend the hospital!!!!! Wish I could give them 10 stars.

Experiencia fantástica: After open heart surgery I was lucky enough to be treated by the best nursing and nursing assistants you could find. All of these people get +10 rating. Thank you so much. Logan a rn assistant was a superhero I didn't mention the doctors. But what can I say? I'm alive because of them.

Experiencia fantástica: "so shines a good deed in a dreary world" Willy Wonka... A friend of mine recently received care at your hospital and has been reminded of something. Some people in this world still believe in the hypocritic oath. There are still nurses, doctors, and various others in the medical field that still just want to help those in need. Compassion still exists weither it's a nurse with broken ribs and missing a eye... Or the janitor emptying the trash ️.. thank you...

Experiencia fantástica: Very nice new hospital! It's not just a hospital, more like a health campus in one building. Most of my providers are there now. There is valet parking if you want to use it. The entire front two rows are for Handicapped Parking. When you walk in the front, you're greeted by personnel who ask routine Covid questions and provide you with a mask to wear, so you put your own away and put theirs on. They ask your name and they look up where you're going, and then give you directions if you need them. I found that two of my docs are 2nd floor - unsure if all are on the same floor, and saw that the gift shop is right by the elevators on the 2nd floor. It looks like there are some nice things there although I didn't go inside. They have some things (to attract you of course) that are displayed outside the shop. Several elevators so if you have to wait for one, it's not but a minute. One more thing - outside everything is marked very well. There's a separate turn for the emergency department. That is marked clearly so there aren't mistakes made during critical times. (The photos below were not taken by me, they are screenshots from Google that belong to the hospital.)

Experiencia fantástica: I am from out of state and I needed to come up for my father's passing. We were so lucky to have the critical care nurse Debbie assisting us. Debbie (Deb) went above and beyond for us. The Dr's were great and informative. However Debbie was my confidant. I'm an only child and this was my first parent passing. I honestly don't know if I could have made it through this without her. I'm beyond blessed that she was our nurse. If I could say anything it would be to say Thank You to Debbie. You were amazing, helpful, and kind I wish every nurse is like you, and every family that has you as a nurse are so very lucky.

Experiencia fantástica: This is for Central Scheduling at IU Health Bloomington. I called on 11/27/22 @730am to reschedule an echo appointment due to not feeling well. The most friendly woman answered. Her name was Christi. She is probably the sweetest human I’ve ever dealt with! She told me she was sorry I was feeling under the weather, gave me many options for rescheduling days, then wished me happy holidays. I’ve dealt with folks in scheduling at different hospitals before. Some were downright rude. Not this time. Great interaction with Christi! She’s in the right line of work, very comforting and helpful. Thank you again!!

Experiencia fantástica: My mother came in due to having Covid. They treated her amazingly well. Although there were no regular rooms, they were able to keep her in a private ER room until they had space. Then they moved her to a private room until she could move on to rehab. All the nurses were spectacular. For those that complain, just remember, these folks work long hours without enough staff and do a spectacular job helping people. Very impressed with the quality of service.

Experiencia fantástica: I just had back surgery at Bloomington Hospital & it was my first experience at the new facility. I was treated so well from the moment I walked through the front doors to the time I was escorted out after my surgery. I can not express how patient & kind the entire staff was towards me. Every single time I pushed the button to get help to use the restroom or get something to drink the staff was so nice & accommodating. If I ever need another surgery or procedure I will be going back to this hospital. My only recommendation would be that they look into serving better food.. I ordered the turkey sandwich & baked fries & it was not edible. I’m sure the staff is trying to do the best they can with what supplies & training they are being given but there could be improvements in this area. This is just a small hiccup in a very pleasant experience I had & in no way changes if I would go back or not. Thank u to all the staff that took care of me.. u are appreciated!

Experiencia fantástica: Came into this hospital for a womens health appointment and to get labwork done. The staff working the front desk was very helpful, directed me to where I needed to go within the building. Didn't wait long to meet with a registrar for insurance before getting lab work done, was in and out of the lab in 10 minutes. At my appointment the rooms were very clean and nice, the new building is beautiful. Had to be sent back to the lab to get more work done, they had me in and out again in less than 10 minutes.

Experiencia fantástica: I had outpatient surgery at this hospital yesterday. 14 different staff ushered me through the day. Each was caring, kind and patient focused. Special shout out to Cassidy who helped me just after surgery.

Experiencia fantástica: I was instructed by my PCP to go to ER. Although they were completely packed I was very grateful at how kind, compassionate, efficient and patient everyone was. I don't do hospitals well at all and even had a panic attack on the way there, while there and almost left but they were very patient and calmed me down until I was able to stay. With everything I had going on they were very thorough in testing and each department had the kindest staff, were very informative and took the time to make sure I understood all tests and the outcome. Thank you to everyone in the ER, PCU, radiology, cardiology and anyone I might have forgotten to mention. You are very much appreciated. Thank you for all you do and how hard you work.

Experiencia fantástica: We recently had our son here, and we were taken care of so well. All of the doctors and nurses in Labor and Delivery stayed close to us, and likely saved the lives of my wife and unborn child. Postpartum was equally great, and we truly felt looked after. Sarah and Renee, the lactation nurses, were patient, kind and helpful. So glad we had our baby here!

Experiencia fantástica: Dear IU Health Bloomington, Health Center is a better name. I think you should change your name to “Health Center” and stick to that as your mission, to be a health center, the people’s health center. That is what you are; you are a health center that stands for good physical and mental health and wellbeing for the people. It’s a good mission. The word hospital has a bad ring to it nowadays, it’s associated with shows like greys anatomy and drama and it’s references in movies and tv. Philosophically, if you want a functional name that clearly communicates your purpose and mission, choose “Health Center” and change your public opinion for the better. Experiencia fantástica: Sitting in the ER pregnant with a broken ankle. This was not where I was hoping to be on the night before mew years eve, but the nurses were sweet and calmed me down as I cried. Dr. Moore and Eugene walked me through every step of the process and I left feeling hopeful about my prognosis. These doctors are under so much stress and pressure yet they were able to calm a scared pregnant lady and answer all her questions. Thank you to the ER team. Also special shout out to Nurse Tess for being so sweet and walking me through everything again, and again.

Experiencia fantástica: Overall it’s it’s a good place three beautiful grandbabies almost 3, lol it will be three grandbabies in June. They saved my son’s life, from falling off a three story house, 1 mm either way and he could’ve died or been paralyzed for the rest of his life and because of their hard work he’s as good as new literally so I mean yeah there’s always gonna be a few bad apples in the bunch but they always work it out and they always get it done and for such a big town they need a little break not such a hard time!!!

Experiencia fantástica: I came here in an emergency from Cellulitis and had to stay much longer than anticipated. What could have been a depressing and traumatic experience was transformed into a hospitable, warm, and pleasant experience thanks to the incredible nurses and techs and doctors at this facility. They helped me to feel cared for and unafraid and I would recommend their service a million times over! And the food wasnt half bad either! Could do with gettin produce from a local farmer but whatever, ya cant have it all i suppose. Thanks Allie, Joanna, Tanner, Heather, Kayla, my doctors and the kitchen staff! yall made my life way better durin those days

Experiencia fantástica: In 2017 I was taken there after being in a Horiffic accident with my Grandson's. The car turned over 4 times until it settled. We were taken to this Great Hospital. I was in very bad shape. Each person who confronted me was so caring and kind. I was in ICU for abit. Always treated with respect and dignity. The Nurses always took care to make sure I was covered. I spent almost 6 weeks in this Wonderful Hospital. From the Specialists who took care of me to the Doctors who kept me abreast of what was going on at all times. The Nurses took very good care of me as the Orderlies did too. From my meal being brought up and the person cleaning my room I was Blessed. I eventually went to Rehab what a Awesome Team there. The reason I was there yesterday a very good friend of mine had a friend in ICU. She was being taken very good care of Her. Everyone who worked in ICU were busy as bees. Total respect for Patient and Visitors.

My doctor was extremely nice and knowledgeable. The nurses, staff, radiologist were really nice. Thank you again for your services!

Experiencia fantástica: They are amazing here!! Attentive, thorough, genuinely concerned for a person's health and well-being. I was here a couple of weeks ago for an abscess in my armpit... Turns out this particular area is almost impossible to numb... It was a 10. I don't say anything hurts as a 10.. And I've been 'cut in half twice' LOL (c-sections). The Doctor looked maniacally happy (doctor pimple popper!! Lol!) Which made me laugh, and the ensuing, excruciating extraction of set infection was made a little bit better LMFAO. She was extremely supportive, very thoughtful, and did everything in her power to make it as painless as possible. She made me bolstered my morale, complimented on how well I was handling the whole thing. She definitely made a somewhat traumatic experience tolerable. Thank you. Thank you to all the Paramedics, Techs, Nurses, Assistants, Doctors, Nurse Practitioners, CNAs, RNs, ect, ect, ect!! That are often overworked, underpaid, underappreciated.. Thank you, thank you, thank you! Appreciate your good nurses, doctors, ect! Entitlement is ugly

Experiencia fantástica: I have had two emergency room visits and two births at this hospital. I can tell you that as far as the maternity ward is concerned it is second to none! I have had 9 babies and 2 were born here. Let me tell you how bad my hospital experiences were in other states- horrifying doesn’t begin to describe them. But at Bloomington, the nurses and doctors were respectful, caring, patient and very good. Dr Waters took me as an overdue homebirth patient and was never a jerk once to me. Dr Labban and his partner were phenomenal! My nurses, Maria, Janice and a few others whose names escape me were awesome! After the births, they were respectful of all my choices and did not make me feel badly once. They were supportive but not overbearing and I can assure you that’s not the norm in the world of hospital births!!!! So, I thank them all for a great job! As for the ER visits, I think they helped a lot. I did wait four hours when my son split his head open by throwing a piece of limestone in the air.... but the bleeding was under control and he only needed staples. In conclusion, I had good experiences here and I am thankful to the nurses, doctors, food service staff and cleaning crew.

Experiencia fantástica: My mom fell and broke her hip while we were visiting Bloomington. The staff at Bloomington Hospital were incredible!! So professional yet kind. They went above and beyond to put my 85 year old mother at ease. Dr Hood was amazing- great bedside manner and highly informative. Dr Rink went out of his way to ease my mom’s worries. Both Drs were so personable and approachable. The extraordinary service continued with the nursing staff that cared for my mom. Kristie on the orthopedic floor has such a friendly, optimistic personality. She is a great example of someone who truly loves their chosen profession. I feel that my mother received the best care possible. A huge thank you to everyone that tended to Rita Anderson- we truly appreciate each of you!!

Experiencia fantástica: I took my son to the ER with abdominal pain. The ER docs recommended a CT scan where the radiologist and Dr discovered a mass. They were able to quickly and accurately tell me that it was most likely lymphoma, a very rapidly growing cancer. It was this quick and accurate diagnosis that got us to Riley hospital that very night. We are currently beginning treatment but I wanted to acknowledge the amazing Team who saved us critical hours and days.

Experiencia fantástica: I’ve had 4 babies here and one surgery. My daughter had to be admitted once when she was very young as well. The nurses are phenomenal, so very kind and caring. They are all angels. I enjoy meeting them and talking with them, and consistently feel well cared for. I’m thankful for the nurses and staff who keep IU Health/Bloomington Hospital a bright resource for healthcare in our town.

Experiencia fantástica: Had my first child here and all the nursing staff was so friendly and helpful. They helped us with all our silly baby questions and seemed like they really cared about the health and wellbeing of our little one and me. The delivery nurses were equally great and helpful. The doctors are busy people but the nurses and lactation support here really made us feel at ease.

Experiencia fantástica: I don't even know where to start.. Nurses Lindsey &.. Sam Best Nurses ever the staff treated me like I was the only patient there!!! Bloomington Hospital is the ONLY way to Go. .. EVERYONE JUST SO PLEASANT..thoughtful..kind and really cared about their patients!!! I was there for 10 days....beds aren't comfortable but they want you home as much as you want to get home!!! Thank you all ICU..PED..!!!!
