Experiencia fantástica: I was recently a rehab patient at this faciliry and could not be more pleased with the care I received there. The staff was so professional in all aspects. The CNA's were so helpful with my daily care and the therapist's were very professional. If you are in need of rehab, you couldn't find a better option. Thanks to all. T6

Experiencia fantástica: My mom just spent almost two weeks at University Rehab after having surgery at Carle to repair a broken hip. I couldn't be more pleased with how fantastic everyone was at this facility. Every interaction with the people who work there reassured me that she was in good hands. While I hope that no one in my family needs rehab again anytime soon, if someone does, this is the place that I would choose.

Experiencia positiva: I have no knowledge of the care or staff for the general population at University Rehab, so will only speak about my experience with the Memory Care unit where both of my parents are currently living and receiving excellent care. They were admitted during Covid and they have been kept safe during this time. The staff have done everything they possibly can to make their transition easy (even setting up their room to make it as homey as possible considering it is a nursing home room), to meeting their specific medical needs by having a local nurse practitioner who specializes in gereatrics, staying in constant touch with family to help schedule visits, and especially making them feel cared for by people who they can trust. They have made sure that family visits are continued, even now as the weather has turned cold by doing virtual visits. They have had some Covid cases, majority staff, at University Rehab, but none in the Memory Care unit. However each week that there are ANY positive cases, the family is notified and testing is done twice on both residents and staffing. They have been following all IDPH guidelines, which cannot be said of some local facilities unfortunately. The new management for this location has changed things around from when it was the CCNH. I will admit I was leery when I originally placed my father there, as a rehab only to be returned to his assisted living facility, however that was changed when his health did not improve, yet they reached out to me to see if I wanted to have my mother join him in the Memory Care unit. After 4 years of trying to get them together into Memory Care at the facility where they had lived for 6 years, University Rehab made it possible in under 60 days. Please don't take reviews which were done prior to the sale of CCNH to University Rehab as a current state of the facility. Also, please recognize that my personal experience is with only the Memory Care unit at the facility.
