Experiencia fantástica: "Four visits should do it," Jon Weinberg confidently said during my first visit to Team Care Physical Therapy. I thought, "Yeah, right. This guy is nuts!" After years of persistent back issues, the idea that they could resolve quickly--let alone in four visits--seemed impossible. Turns out, I was wrong. Two weeks after my fourth visit, my back feels fantastic. I'm back to splitting wood (using a hydraulic splitter--hey, I'm 68 years old, so let's not get ahead of ourselves), which involves a lot of bending and lifting. If I feel soreness creeping in, a few quick McKenzie exercises work like magic--everything shifts back into place, and the soreness disappears. I stick to the prescribed exercises daily, and not only is my back holding up, but my posture has improved too. I couldn't be more pleased with the results. Jon and his team are true professionals who make you feel at ease from the start. Their enthusiasm for the McKenzie Method isn't hype--it's supported by years of research, evidence, and clinical practice. For me, though, it's the real patient success stories that resonate most. Experiencia fantástica: Jon Weinberg at TeamCare Physical Therapy has improved my quality of life on a number of issues. On my first visit in 2020, Jon asked what I wanted to be able to do again that the pain in my knee, hip, and back kept me from doing. One thing was getting on and off the floor to play with the grandchildren. Another desire was to be able to jog on a treadmill again. Following his instructions, I was able to do both before three weeks had passed. Jon is now working on my shoulder to bring back the movement I once had before surgeries limited the range of motion. I believe he will have me swinging a golf club before long. My quality of life has truly improved thanks to TeamCare Physical Therapy.

After spending the last 6+ years working with a number of physical therapists, chiropractors, and massage with temporary and limited result, I had resigned that my lower back pain and resulting lack of mobility would be a constant issue. As a former college and NFL athlete I’ve worked through a lot of injuries and I really appreciated Jon’s approach which targeted the cause of pain, and not just the symptoms. Jon created a program of exercises for me which I could do at home or throughout the day and after a few weeks I was pain free, with drastically improved neck mobility. Jon and Josh were super knowledgeable and took their time to help with a back issue that I had been dealing with on and off for years. I had been in back pain for about 2 years and my back would "go out" every few months to the point where I couldn't walk. After Doctor visits and physical therapy that did not help my doctor sent me to the UNC Spine Center where I was examined and diagnosed with lower back and disk issues. I was promptly referred to Jon at Team Care for his specialized McKensie Method Physical Therapy. I am now pain free as I religiously do these exercises daily. It is ironic that several years ago my husband was referred to Jon and he continues to this day doing the exercises Jon gave him to stay pain free and healthy. Experiencia fantástica: I am a physician who has a long history of disc herniations leading up to surgery a few years ago. When a new level appeared, I was referred to Jon, and he completely fixed me without surgery. Infact, I went from bent over and barely able to see patients to playing tennis again within 2 weeks, just by doing exercises he prescribed. Now if there is a flare, I revert back to the exercises and it works. I play tennis vigorously and competitively 4-5 times a week. No pain meds, not muscle relaxers!

Experiencia negativa: Went to see Jon in January. I want to preface this review with I think he is overall holding good intentions but in my view went about it the wrong way (I have a complex injury). After seeing 20ish doctors before Jon PROMISED me multiple times that he would fully heal me in a matter of a few weeks. That was not ever realistic and extremely misleading to be telling someone in years of chronic pain. After one week of implanting the new exercises my pain had gotten a lot worse and when I told him on the phone he was nothing but defensive claiming that it wouldn't do that. I am very aware of my pain and body - i had to deal with 2 months of worsened pain from the damage done in the one week. Not saying you shouldn’t see him and again i think he is a good guy but temper your expectations if he is promising you the world upfront. I have now figured out the cause and fixed my pain and can confirm that his diagnosis and excercises were not correct as promised to me. I waited until this point to write the review. ***edit in response: I have no intention in directly damaging your reputation as I have seen an insane amount of clinicians and I have NEVER once went out of my way to write a review. I am not writing this review because you didn’t heal me I chose to write the review I because I believe your method of making immediate promises of full health to people in severe chronic pain is unprofessional and damaging to someone in my position. The injury WAS mechanical and your tactics not only were completely wrong in being a solution but were also damaging. We texted the week we had met and that time frame was too small for me to figure out how it was going to affect my body for time to come. I waited to write the review until I had saw the entire thing through and could process my emotions on it beforehand.

Experiencia fantástica: I want to thank Jon for all his help. Over the course of 1.5 years, I met with 5 surgeons, received 4 epidurals and 1 facet block injection, pain med's and muscle relaxants. Nothing helped my pain until I was referred to Team Care Physical Therapy. I realize my back problems will never go away 100%, but Jon showed me ways to alleviate my pain to the point I can function. Experiencia fantástica: I am a physical therapist but even folks in this profession need another set of eyes to diagnose and treat our injuries. As much as I tried to use my own knowledge and resources to fix my L5 radiculopathy, I was not getting relief. The pain extending to my left foot and ankle were almost constant and I was miserable. I underwent two steroid injections in the Fall of 2021 with minimal effect. I was taking gabapentin and etolodac to help with pain but ultimately this was not solving the problem. Not to mention the fact that I am not a pill popper and I did not like the effects of the medication. A coworker referred me to Jon in February of 2022 and I could not be more pleased. Jon has a very well trained eye for identifying postural issues as well as stellar knowledge about the mechanics of the spine. He identified my issues and constructed a comprehensive treatment plan that I followed religiously. The exercises prescribed were simple and easy to follow. I was motivated to get my life back and was consistent in following his instructions. He is the reason I have my life back and I did it without any invasive treatment. I am forever grateful and will certainly refer friends and family to this practice. I also want to acknowledge the professionalism and courtesy of his office assistant, Ellissa. She greets everyone with a smile and shows genuine concern for patients. If you are in need of physical therapy for spine issues, this is the place to go.

He is a terrific physical therapist, clearly enjoys what he does and the people he works with. I'm grateful for all he has done to get me back to being pain free and even back on the golf course!

I'd had serious knee and back pain that would come and go for 10+ years, and Jon was able to diagnose the underlying issue within the first 10 minutes and have me feeling better after a single session. A couple additional sessions got me prepared to do exercises on my own, and I'm now training for a half marathon and feeling great!

I had been treated by both university spine centers, various other PTs, and several chiropractors without success. I was frustrated and limited in what I could do, but Team Care was the difference.

Experiencia fantástica: I was referred to Jon by the UNC Spine Center. They said he was "The Guy" for my back issue from a previous injury. After 7 years my spine injury had returned and I needed updated therapy. Jon quickly diagnosed my issue and put me on a path to zero back pain. His goal is not to milk you for money to have you keep coming in because he is the only one who can make you feel better. Instead he teaches you how to take care of your pain independently through exercises. I could not recommend him more, he really is an exceptional PT.

Experiencia fantástica: I was referred to Team Care PT by my orthopedic doctor for pains in my lower back, which came on from standing or walking for just 10-15 minutes. Jon Weinberg and his staff, including Dave the Dog, were both welcoming and effective. They assessed my condition and then prescribed specific exercises and stretches that I could do on my own. Over a few weeks, what had been a rather debilitating back pain was reduced to an occasional annoyance, which I could easily relieve by doing just a few seconds of the prescribed stretches. Jon did a great job diagnosing the issues and explaining the treatment path going forward. Jon also did a great job in brainstorming ways to help do my stretches while still doing my job. Two hours before my appointment with Jon at Team Care Physical Therapy I took my family for a quick visit at the museum in downtown Raleigh. While there, I told my kids to go to the next exhibit and I'll catch up. Like many times before, I was experiencing a pain and numbness down the left side of my leg. I desperately needed a place to sit to relieve the pain. With no chair in site, I literally sat on the floor against the wall to get some relief. I had been dealing with this pain for the last 4-5 years and no one had been able to help. We went straight from the museum to my appt with Jon at Team Care. Jon evaluated my situation and gave me some very simple exercises, it took about 35 minutes. Since that one, single appointment with Jon, I have not experienced pain like I had that day in the museum, not even once! It's quite incredible and honestly life changing. Over the last 5 years I have been to numerous therapists, in fact I was seeing one about a month before I saw Jon. I stopped treatment because after 6 visits the pain was worse, not better. I also went to an orthopedic surgeon and he said surgery was not an option, therapy was my only choice and it was not working.I had become despondent about my situation. Up until my appointment with Jon, I pretty much believed I would be dealing with this pain down my leg for the rest of my life. His ability to diagnose and treat my pain with some very simple exercises literally changed my life for the better. No longer am I having to sit on the floor in public places! Experiencia fantástica: I went to Team Care Physical Therapy suffering from knee pain, hip pain,a lower back pain. I was looking at knee surgery in the near future,Jon thought it was all in my back, and with several weeks of stretching therapy and back manipulation I am up and walking and on my road to recovery, with knee surgery hopefully in the distant future, I am truly amazed. This is the second time Jon has fixed me up.

Experiencia fantástica: I lived in chronic pain for > 6 months recovering from a lower back injury I suffered while working as a paramedic. Previous months of PT and Spine Specialists did little to resolve my pain. In 1 session Jon had me in significantly less pain and hopeful I would regain my life. In 3 weeks I was near baseline and looking to return to work and life. I cannot recommend Jon strongly enough, my only mistake was not seeing him first.

Experiencia fantástica: A very different approach to physical therapy - that works wonders! I've struggled with migraines from a neck injury for 15 years, and no one (PT or medical care) has been able to help. Jon fixed the problem, and my migraines have decreased by at least 90%. When I later hurt my back, Jon was there to get me moving again. As an extra bonus, I'm a bit in love with Dave the dog, who is often on duty at the office. Recommend 100%.

I had multiple disc problems that escalated to the point I could not sit, stand, lay down, or find any position of comfort - even when on the highest level of gabapentin and ibuprofen allowed. Several opinions thought I might need surgery based on the MRI. Luckily my spinal specialist recommended that I try Jon first, if I was willing to drive from Chapel Hill to Cary. WELL WORTH THE DRIVE!! First - even though Team Care was out of network for me, they charge so much less than my normal PT who works through Duke hospital. The facility fees are crazy. Second - he was able to treat me with once a week or even once every two week visits - with exercises to work on until reached the next phase. And available for a phone call if hit a problem!! Third - he was patient, answered all my questions, and helped me work through the two steps forward, one step back frustration that inevitably happens working through this big of a problem. When he told me I would run within 8 months, I was thrilled, but I was running month 5. A miracle given I couldn't walk without pain when I went to him. Fourth - just a great guy to work with - funny, patient and empathetic.

Experiencia fantástica: I've struggled with low back and nerve pain radiating down my leg for over 8 years. I had seen every type of specialist you can imagine. Everyone promised results and took my money, but I never got better. I'm now not only pain free, Jon has given me the tools to diagnose and fix myself! A word of advice, if you want a fancy office environment and lots of MRIs and superfluous exercises, there are plenty of PT clinics around the Triangle happy to oblige. If you actually want to get better and learn how to free yourself of dependency on the medical system, go to Jon.

Experiencia fantástica: I'm 65 years old and have had neck and back pain for the last 45 years. The numerous therapies I've tried only gave me temporary relief. I arrived at my first appointment with Dr. Weinberg, with neck and lower back pain, tightness and pain in my hips and knots in my shoulder blade area. Dr. Weinberg worked patiently with me for over an hour, explaining the mechanical issues with my spine and guiding me through movements that addressed my upper, middle, and lower spine.
