Pivot PT - Cary (Aquatics)

Experiencia positiva: I highly recommend Nelson. He takes the time to hear your concerns, challenges you as appropriate, and goes above and beyond. He is always prompt and ready to work at the start of your session. I can’t recommend Vaishali as a therapist. She is routinely late and not prepared at the start of the session (at least this is true if you choose early morning appts). She doesn’t challenge you, even when asked. Doesn’t review notes from previous sessions to know where to pick up.

Experiencia fantástica: Vaishali and Nelson Started therapy October 16 th. Was alittle sceptical that therapy would help after Doctor said I need surgery. As of November 27 th to my surprise I could walk though Walmart and Walgreen with little pain. First time in months. It is great to feel like an individual instead of something meone assisting me. Look forward to six more sessions with this great team. Friendly and patient.

Nelson has been helpful, upbeat, great at problem-solving my physical issues, and has gone above and beyond in helping me stay on track with my goals to prepare for an upcoming knee replacement.

Experiencia fantástica: I developed a very sore heel after a trip that I needed to see a pt right away. My daughter recommended this place since my grandson also had them. I can’t ask for a better therapist than Nelson Andrade who worked on my heel and gave me the exercises I needed to relieve me of the pain as well as strengthen my foot. They are all so friendly and accommodating from the people at the office to the other therapists.

Experiencia fantástica: I had pulled muscles in my lower back at least half a dozen times before I started PT. In the sessions I was coached on how to workout in a way I could strengthen my back. Keeping up with the homework exercises, I felt my back get stronger and I haven't pulled a muscle since I started. I was nervous at first, but I'm very happy I decided to do this. Thanks!

Experiencia positiva: Updating this because within a week of posting, I had received my refund. While the therapists here are exceptional, they over charged me. I was told they'd issue a refund when I was released from their care, which happened over 10 months ago. Despite that and emailing numerous times, I have not received a refund and they have not even had the courtesy to respond to email.

Experiencia fantástica: Advanced Physical Therapy is an excellent place if you need PT. It has one of the few aquatic environments for physical therapy. The pool / land based treatment helped me recover quickly and get back to my normal activities. The staff is caring, professional, knowledgeable, friendly and thoughtful. I highly recommend this group.

Experiencia fantástica: Advanced Physical Therapy - Cary is a place I highly recommend if you are in need of excellent PT care. I was amazed and enjoyed the highly individualized, concentrated care; seldom did I have to share my therapist with other patients. Initially my protocol was Aqua Therapy, when it was time to move to the gym my fears and concerns were immediately addressed. My therapist was able to take the time, not only train me in all the correct exercises, but to explain why I was doing what I was doing, how it would help and best benefit me. All the staff, PT's and office personnel, are very kind, caring and friendly. I have now "graduated" out of PT and unbelievably, I am going to miss my Advanced PT "family".

Experiencia positiva: Don't expect undivided attention here. During my visits, I had less than 30 minutes of actual contact with a therapist. And that time included about 6 minutes of warm-up on the bike and time spent printing exercise instruction sheets. And the time I did have was shared. My therapist was assisting both myself and one or sometimes two other people. Considering the cost, even with insurance, this was not what I expected. Got more from consistently doing the therapy at home than going in for appointments.

Experiencia fantástica: The water here is so healing. It is always really warm so when I get into the pool, my body relaxes. The exercises I do have helped keep fibromyalgia at bay. The therapists are wonderful- very knowledgeable, kind, and helpful. When I leave there, I feel rejuvenated :-) 11/21/24- I left the above review a year ago. Since then I had a left total knee replacement. Once I was cleared for the water and land therapy, I went back to my favorite group of therapists. My doctor was surprised at how quickly I progressed and I told him that he should refer all his orthopedic patients to this Pivot PT. My strength and mobility greatly improved. I’m so glad I found this therapeutic environment!

Experiencia negativa: I saw a lot of good reviews, so I booked an appointment with this PT just for a second opinion, although I'd already been seeing another PT. I was really disappointed: <30 minutes, with $120. I originally thought my first visit would take more than 1 hour, as there would be some initial evaluation, but it turned out to be only less than 30 minutes. (All my other therapy sessions take about an hour) I could tell the therapist was knowledgeable, but from my other therapy experiences, they charge too much, without sharing enough knowledge or offering all the help I need. I took a quick glance at the place though, it is big, and there are a lot of facilities. Unfortunately, I won't have a chance to use any. I wonder whether I'm the only patient with such bad experience, just because the therapist had some urgency that day, since they called me to move my appointment half an hour earlier, which I tried to accommodate. But I'm not satisfied anyway. ************** I'm updating my review to the lowest I can give. After 2 months' of my original visit, I got an extra $45 dollars charge. It was because my insurance is high deductible. So I have to pay $165 for 30 minutes service. Wow! I confirmed with them several times that I had high deductible insurance, and would it be the same price with or without insurance, and the receptionist assured me it would be the SAME price, and no extra charge. The billing department is very rude, and never take the call. After I left 5 voicemails, they finally gave me the response that the charge is final, no adjustment, and no change! If I don't pay it, it will go to collection. And they kick the ball back to the receptionist. Make your own judgement.

Experiencia fantástica: The physical therapy and exercise routines I received from my therapist, Owen, are extremely helpful. The sharp pain at my right tight and down at my right shin due to the pinched nerve was greatly alleviated. I am amazed by the improvement I am having; from not being able to stand straight and walk at week one to being able to walk with my back straight with very little or unnoticeable sore at week two. My improvement says a lot about the care I received from Owen at Pivot PT in Cary, NC.

Experiencia fantástica: Owen who is one of the main therapists I have seen there is simply amazing!. He is able to diagnose multiple injuries in no time. He is patient, practical, and can build the most effective therapy and plan to get you back on your feet, and enjoying your favorite sport. The practise is very well run, they have given me resistance bands to take home for exercise. Its a really great practise in West Cary. Its my first stop for any injuries.

Experiencia fantástica: They are very good, they’ll help you in anything you need. I was hard at the beginning with them and they helped me a lot. I underwent three surgeries in a month and did both my hips for hockey so they had their work cut out for them. They’ll do the best for you as long as you put in the work. My journey with them ended due to decisions made after talking with my coaches, family advisor and conversations with my doctor. However, it’s one of the best places to go. You’ll be in great hands. They really help with aquatic therapy, I have unrealistic expectations for myself but they will push you if you need pushing and if you are too hard on yourself they’ll try to console you and be empathetic.

Experiencia fantástica: Owen has been providing physical therapy for my Son for about 3 1/2 years. After every spine surgery my Son has had, Owen has always been there to help in the recovery. I know I have mentioned this to Owen before, but I want everyone out there to hear it too: when my 19 year old Son can finally walk again without the use of a walker or a cane, when he can finally stand on his own again, I know I will cry tears of joy because it will be just like when he was a baby and took his first steps. This is why I will always be grateful for Owen and what he does as a professional and caring Physical Therapist. Even though we now live almost 25 miles away from this location, I would never take my Son anywhere else simply because Owen has been with him every step of the way for so long. Unfortunately, Owen has also had to deal with me this whole time too, which has probably been unbearable at times, simply because I'm a hovering mother :) but he never shows it and he is extremely patient with me. Gosh, I just want to keep on saying how wonderful, caring, respectful and knowledgeable everyone here is! I thank all of you and will continue to thank all of you for everything you are doing and have done to help my Son!

Owen is very knowledgeable and he slows down enough to teach you what exactly you are working. Emily and Marissa are very easy to get along with, very professionals and they helped me out in any shape or way I needed. I would recommend any person to go to this Pivot with any needs. You are not just another patient, you are treated like your part of the family since the time you walk in. I am a raving fan of this entire office.

Experiencia fantástica: After decades of discomfort from arthritis and periodic vain attempts at relief with several specialists, following a year of increasingly limited elbow and shoulder mobility and growing inflammation, I began treatment with Owen Quirk....but as an avid skeptic. Owen listened, quickly adapted to my limitations, and implemented a course of treatment that yielded near immediate improvements. Within a few months, the sessions and his guidance restored the majority of the mobility I'd lost, and reduced my discomfort beyond any expectations I'd had. Even with the passage of several months since treatment, the results have been maintained.
