Experiencia positiva: This place is not suitable for humans or animals. I find it deplorable that a hospital would send any patients there. And I will be admonishing the hospital that sent my loved one there. My loved one was incarcerated to WG, on Sept 6th and on Sept 7th, sent to the ER. Apparently, no one is qualified to detect blood in urine. It saddens me to see the helpless number of people there. It made me want to cry to see the faces of people that truely need care, patience and respect. And to know that they will not be getting anything of the kind in this place, brings tears and anger to my heart. The owners/administrators should be ashamed. I bet you that no one in their families would be placed there. Please, don't send your loved one to this facility.
Experiencia positiva: There are pluses and minuses with any facility. However, this center is clean and the employees are very courteous. Sometimes responses to call buttons are a bit slow and I believe they are understaffed. There are lots of planned activities for the residents and the food is enjoyable. Overall, I am very pleased with this center and glad we chose them for my loved one.
Experiencia positiva: My soon to be husband has been in this place for 6 years now and I am angry! there patient care is bordering negligent. They haven't enough nurses per patient ratio that is legal to stay open. Examples: My dear man is 67 had stroke no physical therapy offered so he isn't mobile now on his right side. He's diabetic and they wouldn't believe the former Doctor, Dr. Ko so they wouldn't follow the diet and his life was ebbing away, I had to find a nurse because my man was having an attack they finally checked (to "humor" me)after demanding they take his blood sugar. It was 500!!! Skip was slipping into a coma state so they FINALLY admitted and agreed with Dr. Ko's report. But now due to the neglect, he will never walk,Damage was done to his organs and a 2nd stroke. He has to use his bed as a toilet since he can't get out of bed and no bed pans. So he was lying on his mattress pad filled with feces's while they had served his lunch and left him to eat it without cleaning up his bed or him...He couldn't eat. The phone # they supply, is difficult to use because they don't answer it. Last night, was my birthday, I called him, I rang the only number they have there and I non-stopped dialed for 76 minutes straight ring 20 times before it started to ring busy. They had 2 nurses on the floor in this large facility for all these patients. Skip used his "light" to reach a nurse for water and it took 2.1/4 hours to get a response for water ( he also has dry mouth) THEN the aid went for the water and over an hour more, she came in with water with no apology to explain why this keeps happening. If this was a "few" times, i wouldn't worry for safety or neglect, but, he's had 2 thefts of his computer and the cords and wouldn't take responsibility for it when it was one of their workers. He has had serious infections due to his "waste" getting into open wounds because they didn't care in bandaging his incisions. The food is bad and still not what he should be eating as being obese and diabetic .. His roommate has the TV on so loud, even late at night, I can't even make out the words he uses over the phone. He asks questions about his care,what pills he's taking etc..and they won't tell him. I have not seen a Doctor in months ...I could honestly say more but sadly and with great upset, there is to much. There are only a few that actually make an effort to like what they do and for them, I wish others would watch and learn and Bless them. But with the neglect, the yelling i've witnessed to elderly patients,lack of respectfor the patients, and as I said, they not answering there phones so we can make sure they are alive, I was in a different Hospital so I couldn't check on Skip, so I finally got him on the phone but he was speaking irrationally, he felt hot,dizzy ,and his breathing was shallow. (he has sleep apnaea, used a sleep mask to breathe for years BUT, this place said he didn't have that condition! Took 2 years of hell for them to test him,took 3 years of fighting to convince He was in need of the mask...still said "ok,we agree" that was 6 months ago, still no mask and he stops breathing at night,he could die and now the Doc doesn't take my calls)anyway, as I was saying before the mask, I told him to hang up the phone ,at that point I called the Windsor to talk to the head nurse on the floor who cares for my man, stayed on the phone till she got to his room and hung up so they would work...later that night I called back , he had been AIR-LIFTED to the hospital with a temp. of 104, pneumonia, septic, complications put in ICU & isolation. So no. NO we want to get him out of there.I'd be surprised if they let this notice through. If you love whoever is there, please, find another place for long-term care. And Please God, care and watch over those in Windsor. These patients don't deserve what is being done to them especially those who haven't family or visitors to witness what Social Services should have caught this place on a surprise visit.
