Experiencia negativa: Been here a few hours today 11/7/2024 I have found this place to be a joke at best they have set smoking hours and make these people wait 20-30 minutes up to their convenience can't even get my pain medication can't get a cold drink everybody pushes their duties off to someone else then disappears the only drink access is a soda machine which ripped me off can't even get the member of any staff to even give me a glass of water or ice this is ridiculous and I have to go through a month of this ridiculous as I said it best trust me I will update this daily

Experiencia negativa: Highland Pines Rehabilitation Center is absolutely horrible! It’s extremely dirty and reeks of urine. The ceiling is always leaking in various areas in which water collects in tall trash cans. That’s dangerous and also a fall risk as many of those residents have conditions that predisposes them to falling. There also appears to be mold inside the building which could potentially cause an array of health issues among a population that’s already medically fragile. Supplies are always limited and the beds don’t work. While visiting, I have heard the nursing assistants complain about not having what they need in order to their jobs. Some of them bring in their own supplies, which should be against policy. The residents aren’t cared for appropriately. I have seen many residents roaming the halls dirty, smelly and soiled. I have also overheard the nursing assistants say the only time the administrator really cared to ensure her residents and building were clean was when her boss or the owners were stopping by. That building is disgusting!

Experiencia negativa: Was there for a tour today and that place is inhumane, dirty, bad odor, caos. Patients wandering around, short staffed. No safety in the rooms, looks filthy. No signs of care and compassion. Should be closed permanently.

Experiencia fantástica: My stay at Highlands was such an incredible experience. Great staff and care. The Director of Nursing Ms Sanchez greeted me immediately and made me feel right at home. Shes followed my care all the way to discharge.

Experiencia negativa: My brother landed here rather accidentally. He was not allowed to contact anyone. They refused to speak to his next of kin and put him on lockdown. After searching for him for most of a year and many phone calls, I finally found him, made the trip, was shown to his room. His hair was longer than ever, he was unshaven, and his fingernails were over an inch long. He had previously kept his face shaven, nails clipped, and hair short. His room had no pillow, no sheets or blanket, he had no glasses, and none of his personal property made to his quarters either. The smell of urine permeated the entire ward! The workers were less than interested in helping him. This is supposed to be an assisted living facility. No assistance was available to him. After multiple visits to the VA, we finally got them intervene and remove him from this horrible place. This is no way to treat people. He is not a criminal, yet was treated WORSE than prisoners are treated.

I must say everyone was very kind and professional, the buildings up keeping was very clean and nice as well. Levika Garcia was very attentive with helping me they you can see the residents are really being cared for properly. They are now my top 5.

Experiencia positiva: I'm a resident there and I've been there for over 6 months the place has gotten very very clean since then and the staff is so much better lavika the admissions clerk she is excellent excellent and Brooklyn are receptionist she's awesome with answering the phones doing the door doing the mail doing a lot of paperwork for the business office in lava is so busy just running around mybut she always keeps her clothes she's always professional

Experiencia negativa: I wanted to leave a review for Highland Pines Rehabilitation. My father in law was transferred there to receive rehab before being sent home after surgery. He was in the wing with immobile patients and I will be filing a complaint with Medicare and the state. When I tell you it was disgusting… it is an understatement. The first day I visited he used his call button. It looks like an old fashioned remote on a chord. It was caked with the last persons bodily fluid and oils. It was slimy black between the buttons. The floor behind his bed was cracked, sunken and filled with filth. His footboard was covered in either old blood or smeared poop. I couldn’t tell which. His roommate would have an accident and call for help over and over again. The one time we did get someone to come in right away she scolded him like a child for yelling, she was condescending and rude, told him she was getting a tech to help and no one came for almost 5 hours. Other times I’d go to the desk and ask for help for him (or my mil when I wasn’t there) and it would take 2-3 hours for someone to change his diaper and sheets. He was miserable. Like a moaning writhing shell of a man. My father in law would ask for a bed pan and ‘they’d have to order one’ and would take hours. My father in law has chrons. He can’t wait hours. The feeling we got was it’s easier to change sheets every 3-4 hours than do a bed pan so that’s what they were going to do. Who cares if the patient is capable of the other. Dignity is an afterthought. The only reason my fil got any care was he was rarely left alone during the day. The physical therapy team was great but the nursing staff plays the game of ‘not my job’ so diligently the patients get no care. Please, if you love your family member do not send them there

Experiencia negativa: I made a delivery to this center today and I dry heave gagged with the overpowering smell of urine. It smells as soon as the door opens. This place needs a thorough cleaning and disinfection.

Tories the receptionist is so helpful an has gone our of her way. Just want to say thanks to the staff. I know it a thankless job. There's families who do appreciate you an we are one. .

Experiencia negativa: The worst place to have your loved one. I could write a book on all the bad things that happen here. We are treated with constant hatefulness and even at times abused .meds are not on time and the medical treatment is non-existent. The facility is grossly understaffed and dirty.they are unprofessional and lazy. I live here I wish I didn't. I wake up afraid and go to bed the same .I'm 77 years old every day is a struggle here it's like they want me to die.

They have new management and staff , I knew when we toured with admission girl this would be the place for mom . She’s completed her rehab was discharge home with home health safe . Amazing care and atmosphere side note :they even make homemade cake and pies for family members

Experiencia negativa: I am a previous employee CNA. This place is just.. horrible.. Please if you love your family member, dont send them to this facility. All they care about is MONEY. I even have inside word stating when the stimulus checks went out they stole thousands of dollars from the patients who aren't totally "there" in the mind to understand certain things. They took that from them. I'd give this place NO STARS if I could.

Experiencia negativa: The CNA abusively screamed at me on and on reducing me to a cowered dog because I complained that my roommate's television was blasting loud 4:00 AM in the morning. Imagine you or your loved one having to go through this kind of abuse.

Experiencia fantástica: The staff is very caring. They keep us updated of any developments when we cannot visit, and are always available to talk to us or explain anything. The facility is worn and needs updating, but my father in law doesn’t notice. He is safe and well cared for in their skilled nursing facility.

Sandy the Adon you don't know every last little thing that you think you do. Administrator you need to find somewhere else to be. Activities director you are phenomenal. Last but not least Social Services lady not sure who you thought you knew or what you thought was going on but you left us high and dry

Experiencia negativa: Place is dirty, smells like urine and fecees all the time. CNA’s for the most part are useless they don’t even answer the nurse call buttons half the time. Social services person is unqualified for the job and avoids you when looking for her. On the bright side the Nurses are pleasant and helpful. Avoid this place if possible

Experiencia negativa: The staff is very lazy! Its very dirty and I definitely wouldn't leave my loved ones there. My husband was there for a few months and he went threw hell there. Thank God he is able to talk and can fend for himself or they would have just left him in bed to die. Please don't put your loved ones in there!!!!

Experiencia fantástica: My recent experience with Higland Pines was exceptional. The facility was clean, and I detected no odor which is often found in nursing homes. My relative was well taken care of. She was literally fed three times a day and food was prepared appropriately for her. The nurses and aides were very professional. I would definitely recommend and use this facilty again if the need arises.

Experiencia negativa: Shared bathrooms that are mostly unkept! Food that looks like came from homeless shelter, the most oldest rickity hospital type bed! Small, always a foul stench of feces staff is very ghetto i was sent there from hospital and left next day i would not send a dog here! They say its like home but is so disgustinf small Who ever says otherwise? Just go ask to tour you'll see !

It's a shame that the CNA'S have to tell a family member like myself of the sick resident to complain about the Air conditioning being BROKE because they will not fix it unless someone outside complains. That's horrible. FIX THE AIR CONDITIONING NOW. IT'S FLORIDA AND IT'S HOT. IF IT'S NOT FIXED BY MONDAY AFTERNOON 8-13-2018, IM CALLING STATE AND IM CALLING STATE UNTIL THE AIR CONDITIONING IS FIXED.

Experiencia negativa: I am doing this review to help people in the futere i brought my wife form a different rehab facility which i wasn't aware they are both ran by the same company and it shows.my wife has had several strokes and is on meds for high blood pressure, high cholesterol, blood thinners and is also diabetic on 3 shots of insulin a day. This facility has not had any of my wife's meds for over 30 hours her blood sugar levels are at 387 and they should be around 100.so please check out the facility before you put tour loved ones in there. I also want to say the nurses and cna"s are the rudest and laziest people i have ever seen. I hope that the corporate heads take this seriously because i am contacting every organization in the state until this place is closed.

Experiencia negativa: Bad place.My father had fever 105 took the nurse 3 hours to come and check on him, felled off the bed,.This place is under staff. Called the state on them .The receptionist wouldn't answer my calls so I used other numbers to call since she probably memorized my # and block me or something. I can go on and on with all the bad things .DO NOT TAKE YOUR LOVE ONES THERE.

Experiencia positiva: The faculty was nice and clean. The nurse was very understanding of my relative’s condition and needs. The patients were happy and well cared for overall. It is never easy for someone to need one of these facilities for full time care. Stay focused. Take care.

Experiencia negativa: Had to move my mother out of here quick last night. Because the nursing staff weren't doing their job. And the management rather fight with a patient's family members. Then set their staff straight on caring for patients. Stay away from this facility. It will save you alot of heartache and stress. Plus having the cops called on you too.

MY NEXT DOOR NEIGHBOR AS I AM DOING LOCAL SECURITY AND LAWN MOWING AND TREE SERVICE AND TRASH REMOVAL FROM AND OF 1510 BARRY ROAD ", CLEARWATER PROFESSIONAL PLAZA ," OLD OFFICE STRUCTURES in CLEARWATER FLORIDA NEAR YMCA ON HIGHLAND STREET .

Experiencia negativa: My mom has been here for 3 days for a broken leg and they still havent given given her her medication due to them not "being able" to pick it up from Walgreen's. today is the first time they offer to help her take a bath.... What a disgrace... The place smells like urine all down the halls.. Barely any A/c. Especially during the day, man it can get hot! The bathrooms are disgusting.. They don't clean it !!! And its shared between 2 ROOMS meaning it's used my 4 patiens.. Wow... This place can not get any worse. Everyday when I get here its in the same condition. No change.
