Ochsner Therapy & Wellness - Veterans

Experiencia fantástica: I have been to this facility several times. I would never go to any other physical therapy facility, they have an awesome front desk staff and the therapist are phenomenal. I have had Richard Coogler a couple times for different issues and I must say, he is the best. He is very good at what he does!!!

Experiencia fantástica: Live out of state and was sent to NOLA for total knee replacement surgery by my insurance. Was apprehensive about being far away from surgical site during recovery (I am 8 days post-surgery) and knew little about Oschner. Researched several reviews and facility had excellent ratings and recognitions. I could not have received better care thru the whole procedure. Pre-op exams and prep were efficient and thorough. Surgical site and care were impressive. PT was limited because I was only there for 4 days post-op but the sessions were beneficial and prepared me for path to recovery. Everyone I encountered there was helpful and concerned. I don't want to go thru this surgery again but I wouldn't hesitate to use Oschner if I ever need it. Great performance!

Experiencia positiva: My physical therapist is great. The people at the front desk, however, are impatient and difficult to communicate with. They are difficult to reach by phone, and when you do mange to talk to someone, they are usually impatient and in a hurry to end the call. In person, they are not much better. For years, I’ve been going to Ochsner for medical care. I've been to many of their locations in the GNO area for doctor appointments and treatment and have found the staff at each of those locations to be friendly, patient, and very helpful. However, Ochsner Therapy & Wellness at 850 Veterans Blvd is a different story. My physical therapist is great and I’m very happy with her. But the staff leaves much to be desired. When I call during office hours, I often have to leave messages and wait for a call back, usually not until the end of the day. Twice when I called with questions, the women I spoke with repeated the same statement several times in an annoyed tone of voice, even though I was asking for more clarification. They either didn’t want to be helpful or weren’t listening to the questions I was asking. (Maybe it was the same woman both times.) When I arrive for my appointments and afterwards when I need to schedule more visits, the staff often ignores you while you’re waiting by the front desk as they look at their computer screens for extended periods of time. They often don’t bother to glance your way and say, “I’ll be with you in a minute.” Once I made the dreadful mistake of asking for help and I was bruskly told to wait behind the line until I’m called. It requires a lot of patience on my part to communicate with the staff both on the phone and in person.
