Experiencia negativa: I was to have knee replaced over 2 years ago during Christmas week.Got to the checking area- all good- then to prep area- still good- But the experience goes STUPID WITH Dr. KINNEY & HIS PA. I had knee checked prior to going there day before- no scratches-nothing- they found a teeny tiny little red dot notveven close to whetr incision would have been on my knee- CANCEL SURGERY. One if his surgery nurses could not believevhe canceled over that. In fact I was to be #1- in surgery. I was treated rudely by Kinney- had all sorts of excuses. Will never go back to him, felt like he just did not want to do my surgery. Therefore- still no surgery yet- waiting till I can find a more Compassionate Dr.- Hopefully they have better doctors there now. I still believe in MU Orthro but not that particular Dr.- .

Experiencia negativa: Their small parking lot here is horrible. Glad they do have carts that come pick you up and take you to the door when you have to park in the big lot,vits a ways away and theres stairs. Their ability to get a paper emailed seems ridiculously slow though. I have been off for a surgery. I rely on my Short term disability to pay my bills. The nurse is aware of this. I don't know maybe it's a whole drawn out process I don't know about to email 1 page to my std people so they can extend it. Here's an idea don't have my follow up app when my shirt term ends. The date needs to be extended. This will be the second week I've had to wait. It's just irritating.

Experiencia fantástica: 5 stars!! From the time you pull into the parking to the moment you leave. These people are freaking awesome!!! They are exactly what you expect when needing to see a doctor. Staff were always nice and answering any questions. Post op nurses were also amazing and helpful.

Experiencia negativa: The care I received after surgery at MOI was a complete train wreck! What should have been an outpatient surgery turned into a 2 night stay. Severe nausea prevented me from keeping down the oral pain meds.....and a controlled substance can only be administered at specific intervals (too bad that you threw them up). That happened 3 times, so I went almost 12 hours with no pain relief before the staff could get intravenous pain medication administered. I was left in urine and feces for over an hour waiting on nursing staff to answer my call button. I could not get out of bed without assistance and even if I wanted to try, staff left my walker on the other side of the room, not next to the bed! Finally the housekeeping angel appeared; noticing my light on for a long time and offerred her assistance......Lillian deserves a huge bonus! Nursing staff finally arrived after an hour and twenty minutes. The following Friday I called for a medication refill of pain meds. Staff called the Rx into MOI pharmacy 20 minutes before they closed (not the hospital pharmacy) and didn't reopen until Monday morning. I went another 36 hours without pain meds. I respectfully reported all this to MUs customer satisfaction department, the Director of Nursing and even the Executive Director of MOI with no known action taken on their part. Billing was a total nightmare too! The billing support line on the invoices are answered by an outsourced group with two call takers. Extended hold times and no ability to do anything but tell you "we'll send it to be researched and get back to you within 10-14 days". I went into see the patient billing clerk on numerous occasions and she continued to tell me "this is a big mess". After months of attempting to rectify it I gave up. Working on my recovery had to take precedence. Due to this surgery failing, I went elsewhere for the complex reconstruction required. My entire experience at Boone Hospital was completely the opposite of what I received at MU. Caring, attentive and on top of making sure doctors orders were in place and executed. My recovery has been long and difficult; and I've lost partial use of my leg due to the MOI fiasco and the Orthopedic doctor's failure to provide me the Duty of Care every patient deserves. ******************SEEK CARE ELSEWHERE*******************

Experiencia fantástica: I was a new referral to see Dr. Ma at this clinic and I was impressed. Parking was convenient, signage to the clinic was very helpful, the check-in staff was friendly and efficient, the nurse intake and radiology staff were also friendly and efficient, and I was especially impressed with Dr. Ma. I had not visited with an ortho surgeon before so, based on my PCP and other docs I had seen, I assumed it would be another rushed appointment to get on to the next patient. On the contrary, Dr. Ma was friendly and open, took his time explaining things to me while we looked at the images together, and I left feeling confident I was in good hands for my care. I definitely recommend this ortho clinic and Dr. Ma.

Experiencia negativa: I had an MRI scheduled for 1230, I checked with VA community care after the fact to verify that it was in fact scheduled for 1230. I showed up at 1215 and checked in and told the front desk person my appt was for 1230. He had me fill out the standard MRI paperwork and sit down. At 1255 I called the MU radiology dept to see what was going on as the front desk person had left. This person informed me that my appt was actually at 1pm instead of 1230. I received no phone call from MOI indicating the time change and when I checked in, the guy at the front desk didn't bother to correct me when I told him it was a 1230 appt. When I called VA community care they said this is a common issue they're having with MOI.

Experiencia negativa: TLDR: Do not go to this place, or if you do, do not see Fassil Mesfin. They are more interested in their research than you as a person. I had herniated a disc in my lower back, L5-S1, and after consulting with my primary care doctor, had an MRI done and went to MOI for followup. The pain I was experiencing was tremendous, on a 1-10 scale, it was an 11. Each time I would stand from sitting, I would nearly pass out from the pain. Nerve pain like this is like nothing I've ever experienced. At MOI, I saw Fassil Mesfin, along with his resident who was shadowing him. The first thing they ask me to do is agree to be a part of their study and fill out some paperwork. Since I am a health researcher also, I said yes. They hand me an iPad and leave. It took 15 minutes to fill in the research forms. They then came back and said they had looked at my MRI, and there was nothing wrong, I just needed to do some physical therapy and I could get a spinal shot. Never mind that I was experiencing the worst pain in my life. They weren't interested in my experience as a person, just the MRI image, and that apparently I didn't qualify for their study. Fassil Mesfin started walking out before I even had a chance to ask questions. I'm literally calling out after him with my questions, and the resident who was with him paused at the door, answered one question, and also left. So I spent 15 minutes of my time helping out his research, and he could only give me 3 minutes back. I was charged several hundred dollars for this "privilege". I feel bad for any resident trained by Fassil Mesfin, they might become just as rude, uncaring, unprofessional, and bad at being a doctor as he is. I did get the shot, which did nothing. I also did PT, which did nothing. The best thing I ever did for myself after this disappointing encounter was get a second opinion from Columbia Orthopedic Group. Unlike MOI, they were amazing: they listened to me and my experience, with genuine empathy. They based their recommendation on the entire picture, not just an MRI, which only shows the position of spinal structures when lying flat on your back. Amazingly, I actually walk and sit and play with my son and do other activities besides lying flat on my back, and COG understands this crucial fact. Avoid MOI at all costs. They are a money making machine for the University of Missouri. The focus there is on enrolling research participants and bringing in those research dollars, and fruitlessly trying to elevate their status in the AAU so they don't get kicked out. All at the expense of actually caring for patients.

Experiencia fantástica: Had spine surgery on November 20 at MOI with Dr. Buyuk. I am so thrilled because I have no more pain in my leg or hip, and about 95% pain-free in my lower back. Dr. Buyuk and MOI staff were very caring and knowledgeable about my health care needs; and friendly and professional, too. Shout out to Aaron, in the nursing unit; he was great! I highly recommend MOI and Dr. Buyuk and the staff!

Experiencia negativa: Don't waste your time if you're seeing Dr Aggarwal! He's a rude and very hateful man. He made me cry. When the tears started to come, he stated I couldn't listen to him and cry, so I needed to quit crying. This was after he told me there was nothing he could do to help me. Please save yourself money and time and just RUN! Or my case hobble. NOBODY deserves to be treated this way. His nurse was almost as bad. She was uninterested in chatting or hearing concerns. The admitting girl was very sweet and the xray team was wonderful.

Experiencia fantástica: I had surgery on my back. Dr. Moore is the best. I was well taken care of by Megan and Brandi. Both are really kind and compassionate nurses. All in all I had a good experience st MOI. Would highly recommended Dr Moore. The best there is I would have to say.

Experiencia positiva: I injured my Rt. Knee on 3-9-23, I saw my PCP the next day and was able to get an appt (thankyou for cancelation lists) on 3-24-23 with Greg Caplinger, FNP, He is an assistant under Dr. Ma, at MOI. From the moment I arrived (after driving 1 1/2 - 2 hours), everyone was super friendly and happy to help. From the receptionist to the x-ray techs to Greg, his assistant, and the "splint" guy, my experience was fantastic!! MOI is the best! I have had appts with other depts in the MU Healthcare system over the past 2-3 years, and I have to say that all the providers and their support staff were great. I would definitely recommend the MU Healthcare System to anyone!!!

Experiencia negativa: I would avoid MOI for anything other than therapy. I have had four surgeries at MOI over the past 12 months and the after surgery care was abysmal. I was frequently left waiting for a nurse for over an hour (sometimes the tech would just cancel the call). It took them over 45 minutes to find a doctor to see me when I was having a medical emergency in the hospital bed.

Experiencia negativa: I had been having knee pain for quite sometime. I was sent there by another physician saw Dr. Kenny. That was the worse doctors appointment ever. Did absolutely no test on me except one exray. More or less told me it was all in my head. Went to another Orthopedic place. And guess what it wasn't in my head. Dr's. that's only there to get you money I have no use for.

Experiencia negativa: The surgery team was wonderful but the aftercare for patients having to stay overnight is TERRIBLE. My mother’s call light has been on multiple times for over 40 minutes due to immense pain and nausea and no one is helping or even coming into the room to even speak with her. Unacceptable and appalling. I used to sing MU’s praises, but it’s really gone downhill.

Experiencia fantástica: First, let me say this . . . . I cannot fully describe just how incredibly wonderful my experience at the Missouri Orthopedic Institute was, both medically AND, psychologically. In 2004, 2005 I went to the hospital in Branson where my right hip and then my left knee replacements were done.Not only did the surgeon do a horrendous job (My right leg was 1 inch longer after my surgery than my left and the hip displaced 4 times but, the knee surgery done a few months later also failed. TWO major replacements and TWO major screw-ups. For 6 years the pain and the inability to walk well persisted. All this trauma and suffering could have been avoided if, I had known about the Missouri Orthopedic Institute and the very fine staff. Starting from the care I received while the preliminary work was accomplished, Dr Bal and his staff took every precaution imaginable, not to cause pain again. My old hip and knee prosthesis's had to be chiseled out and then new hardware revised and installed. Those surgeries were definitely more extensive AND, intensive yet, I say this without reserve: both visits, both surgeries were accomplished to the point where I had no need for pain pills. I swear to all that is Holy, when Dr. Bal came to my room to check on me, he looked at my chart, looked at me, looked at my chart and asked why I wasn't taking any medication and I told him there was no pain. Not only was there very little to no pain, Dr., Bal made both legs the same length!!!! No Pain!!!! For me, and the many others I have spoken to over the years, all agree that these experiences are almost unheard. The trick to this "no pain" feat was, the anesthesiologist. He is so skillful, talented & incredible in his own right, his nerve blocks warded away the initial pain and even after they wore off, I had very little residual pain. Imagine..little to no pain. Thank you Dr. Bal, Heidi, Associates and staff for making my stay at the Missouri Orthopedic Institute a true G-D Send. BTW...Did I tell you the food they served there was above and beyond any experience I have ever gone through in any hospital I had to be in. So Yummy..Their Chef came around to almost all the patients and wanted to hear about that patient's food experience. If I had to rate this Institute from 1-5...I would give the total experience a 10!!!Thank you Staff, Associates and last, but not least, Dr,. Bal. G-D Bless,RIta Spilken

Experiencia negativa: IF YOU'RE OVERWEIGHT DON'T COME HERE LOOKING FOR HELP!!! the doctor's here will make you feel like you're not able to be helped and will just let you suffer in pain. If you're too fat for surgery they send you away without an afterthought. I hate that there aren't a lot of options for orthopedic care here. I am in constant severe pain and all I've ever been told is lose weight. If I could walk I would lose weight!! They're don't even try to hide the fact that they think you are wasting their time. They make you feel hopeless and bad about yourself. If you can go somewhere else you should!!!!! Dr. Nuelle or his staff didn't even offer other options or suggestions, they really let you know that you don't matter...

Experiencia negativa: To whom it may concern, My sister-in-law and her two babies were involved in a terrible head-on crash which has led her to need extensive care and multiple surgeries. She recently was transferred to the Mizzou Orthopedic Institute to continue her care. Krissi currently cannot move her legs and has pins and rods in them. She is missing skin in several areas of her legs. She has very limited use of her arms and hands. She has limited mobility in her pelvis due to a rod holding the broken bones together. She is currently a total care patient. While at your institute she has experienced several instances of neglect. The following instances are just some of the acts of neglect she has experienced. - Your Nurse asked Krissi to move her own legs to get on the bedpan. Krissi currently has legs that are so infected that they cannot operate. She has multiple broken bones. She cannot and should not be expected to do this care on her own. - Your Nurse/ tech turned off the antibiotic machine because she was annoyed with its beeping because it was getting low (Krissi told me this herself) This occurred on 9/12with the nighttime staff. Would the correct procedure be to replace the much-needed antibiotics? -Your Nurses often ask her what the doctors or other medical staff have told her about medicine, surgeries etc and admit that they "haven't got to read her chart yet". She is currently living in excruciating pain. It is not her job to remember all her medical care information. - Due to low staff, you frequently rely on her visitors to assist in lifting and rotating her legs while getting on the bedpan. While as a family we have been assisting because we do not want Krissi to be in any more pain than she currently is, this should not be an expectation. -Any time family asks questions the nurses become irritated and often don't give an answer. They say they'll "look into it" and then not come back in the room. It appears to me that they are avoiding our questions because they do not want to answer them or take the time to find an answer.

Experiencia negativa: Sometime last month I had an appointment with Orthopedic Dr. Matthew Smith to see about getting my shoulder operated on. At the door was a young guy at a desk that said Sir you need to wear a mask. To which I told him I was medically exempt from doing so, and he told me to go ahead. Then I was called to the main desk where a Supervisor lady asked me to put a mask on, or wear a face visor. I repeated to her that I was medically exempt from either, due to multiple medical conditions. So then she said I will have to call back to the Doctor to see if he would even see me, which he did. He said that next week he wanted me to return after I got a CT scan at their facility. So I came back the next week for the scan. The same person at the window asked where my medical exemption letter was, and I told him that I had not been to the Doctor just to make a special trip to get one. So he passed my onto the CT scan room mask-less. The CT lady said nothing about me being masked. So then I went back to the desk, that forwarded me down the hall to see Dr. Smith again for a follow-up visit to read my CT scan. Some young masked lady came into the room along with Dr. Smith's nurse. And proceeded to harass me for not wearing a mask. I told her I was medically exempt. She said that the Doctor would no see me with unless I dawned a mask. And that even if I was not seen. I would have to mask up just to leave the place! I told her that was not happening, and for her to ask the Doctor if he would see me. She sis and in a few minutes told me that. After I got home I filed a formal complaint with the ADA about them allegedly harassing me for my disability. "NEVER" will I set foot in that facility again!

Experiencia fantástica: I just had both of my knees scoped by Dr.Nuelle on the 5th of this month. He did a wonderful job. Thankful we found him when we did. Now on the road to recovery then prepare for bigger surgeries to straighten my bones! Dr.Nuelle and his team are wonderful and worth 5 stars.

Experiencia positiva: The day of surgery the doctor mis read my son's xrays, surgery and pins in 1 finger turned into 2 fingers about 10 mins before surgery. When my husband questioned the dr you could tell he was upset that my husband questioned him. Any parent would do the same thing, it made us have a little less faith at that point. Fast forward, I called to reschedule his appt to a later time and the first guy who answered the phone said it was either keep the appt we had or wait until December. I explained to him that he had surgery and had pins in his fingers and he couldn't wait until December. That guy was rude and a complete idiot. I called back, finally spoke with a super sweet lady and she got our appt changed. I will say so far we have had good luck with the surgery and healing process but I would HIGHLY recommend the dr slow down and take his time. These are peoples kids, and family members and we simply want the best care for them.

Experiencia fantástica: I became a patient of MOI after an MRI showed problems in my neck. My surgeon was Dr. Mesfin and I'm really wishing I would have written down the names of every staff member I encountered at the hospital. The people greeting you at the door, techs, nurses, doctors, and everyone else involved in a surgical procedure were absolutely amazing!!! I felt that they truly cared about me as a person instead of just a patient. I am beyond grateful for every one of them!!!! Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU!!!

Experiencia fantástica: MOI was my outpatient surgery site. It was not an orthopedic surgery. I was taken back to the pre-op area soon after checking in. My room was large enough for my husband to accompany me. The staff who came in and out with instructions were friendly and efficient and helped calmed my nerves. I didn’t have to wait long to be taken to surgery. My post-op room was comfortable and the same size as my pre-op room so my husband could be in there with me also. The nurse was attentive and accommodating. She provided juice and monitored me until I was ready to be discharged. She was very clear while giving the discharge and post-op instructions, patiently waiting to see if I had any questions. I would highly recommend MOI for any outpatient surgery.

Experiencia fantástica: Dr. Nuelle was very kind and easy to approach. It took him less than a few minutes to find out I had something called frozen shoulder. He gave me a shot (which really helped) and then he sent me to physical therapy which fixed me up so that my should is back to normal. Thank you for the great care!

Experiencia negativa: From the beginning of my ER visit at MU I was lied to by members of the orthopaedic team as to the schedule of my surgery. After a 36hr stay (through the day my surgery was supposed to happen) I discharged myself and was told to call the following day to reschedule. I did, both at 8:30am and 3pm, notes were left with the team, no one called back. The NEXT day I appeared in person to reschedule. The assistant I talked with spoke to the team directly and said I would receive a call by the end of business to schedule the surgery for the following day. 20min after the end of business (7 hrs later) I got a call from a doctor saying my surgery had not been approved. I've never felt so disrespected and lied to by people who call themselves professionals.

I didn’t have to wait long to be taken to surgery. My post-op room was comfortable and the same size as my pre-op room so my husband could be in there with me also. The nurse was attentive and accommodating. She provided juice and monitored me until I was ready to be discharged. She was very clear while giving the discharge and post-op instructions, patiently waiting to see if I had any questions. I would highly recommend MOI for any outpatient surgery.

Experiencia fantástica: I just had surgery recently with Dr. Summerhayes. He like Dr. Seth Sherman, Drs. Nuelle and Crist are nothing short of outstanding. I not only felt at ease, butI also felt confident and safe under his care. While I had pain and have anxiety issues, he and his staff were understanding and knew exactly how to comfort and alleviate them. If you want straightforward professional care choose Missouri Orthopedic. Here is a fourth doctor my family will continue to praise and recommend to others. They bring back not only the “old standard of care and empathy”to their patients but they do the research and have the latest up to date equipment and resources to provide the best care. I will never go anywhere else, and the drive is worth it.

Experiencia fantástica: I was first here in 2012. I started back in 2016 when new issues came up and have been up there many times and still am a current client. The doctors up there are all excellent with every visit positive. I've had two surgeries. Dr. Mesfin is top notch and when I first met him, after two minutes I was comfortable with him being my doctor and he performed both surgeries and made sure I was comfortable and explained everything that was going to be done in each one and I recommend the Missouri Orthopedic Clinic. They also have a cafeteria as well.

Experiencia negativa: I went here for surgery to repair my collar bone after breaking it. Dr Stannard never once spoke to me and when he talked with my family after surgery they said he brushed them off as if he had better places to be when they asked questions. It is incredibly difficult to get ahold of a nurse let alone a doctor (expect 24hr+ respond time). Hopefully you don’t have life threatening issues after the surgery or you’ll probably end up dying in your home waiting for a nurse to get back to one of your multiple calls. MOI demonstrates whatever the opposite of patient-focused care is.

Experiencia fantástica: Had knee surgery in May. Dr. Aggarwal did an excellent job. Nursing staff was attentive. The institute has a staff with great experience in orthopedics. The doctor says each operation is presented in a staff meeting for review and input. That gives the surgeon extra depth before the operation. I do have to return next month for more work on my knee through no fault of the doctor and staff. I expect another excellent experience.

Experiencia fantástica: Wanted to share my journey to a more active and productive lifestyle while being treated by the health care teams at the Missouri Orthopaedic Institute. The physicians, nurses, physicians assistants, the ladies who checked me in for an appointment, all projected a positive and helpful demeanor. One staff member who has been there from the beginning in 2016 and up until today is Laura Billings. Laura is an exemplary health care professional with a caring heart. Looking forward to what the future has to bring!

Experiencia negativa: I showed up at 8:10 for an 8 appointment. I was told that the doctor we get to me as soon as possible. I waited until 10 when a nurse walked in the room and said the doctor would be with me shortly. I asked her if I could get an x-ray that I was supposed to have while I was waiting. 3 minutes later an x-ray technician came in took x-rays brought me back to my room, and it is now 10:57 and I still have not seen the doctor. I have missed 4 hours of work already and I'm going to miss more work probably the entire day waiting on this doctor.

Experiencia fantástica: After several years of dealing with severe knee pain from a HS baseball injury 20 years ago, I inquired about the Bio-Joint procedure from Missouri Orthopedic Institute. After several x-rays and a scope, it was determined I was a good candidate for the procedure. In June of 2016, I received a full meniscus transplant and medial collateral ligament grafts. The recovery time was much longer and slower than when I had my ACL repaired 7 years earlier. The care and encouragement from Dr. Stannard, his staff, and the great work by the Physical Therapy team was excellent and kept me positive about the process. Today, I run 3-5 miles per week and ride my bike 30-50 miles per week while being completely pain free with little to no discomfort. I recover from my activities faster and feel more confident in my abilities as I move forward to living an active lifestyle. To anyone suffering from sharp joint pain and wants to return to an active lifestyle, I highly recommend the team at MOI.

Experiencia fantástica: I just came from my Orthopedic Clinic, I had L4 & L5, and L4S1 and L5S1 faucet injections. Took 30 minutes aprox, total of 8 needles. This pain management lasted me for a year. This is my 3rd time doing this procedure. Worth it!

Experiencia negativa: Today, Feb 22, 2018, I check in 10 minutes prior to my 1:30 pm Dr. Stannard follow-up which was made a month ago. I'm immediately told he's over 3 hours late as usual & clerk is unable to locate me. Clerk checks w/Nicole since appt made over phone & possibly just written in. Nicole said she ok'd clerk to book but clerk didn't schedule properly. Told appt not in cpu b/c clerk goofed & I was rescheduled to March 7th. Dr. Stannard was overbooked again. I was able to get the x-ray done today so Stannard could call me later to see if my femur that was fractured from his osteotomy repair. Osteotomy repair was done @1 month later b/c leg was 20 degrees off after Biojoint replacement. Immediately after surgery I informed him that pain was increasing b/c I feel like my leg is turned out. Stannard told me I was wrong & the swelling nakes it look that way. It took my Warrensburg physical therapist to measure & consult the Biojoint physical therapist before Dr. Stannard addressed my concerns.

Experiencia negativa: Dr Choma has the worse bedside manner I have ever encountered. I am in severe pain, quality of life is almost none and he was the worse person to deal with while in pain. I paid for my own MRI, since I thought I was traveling 2 hours away to a quality medical facility, made multiple apt's and was treated like I was below his level of class. I have been dealing with this for 6 months. I am now going to seek help elsewhere due to severe pain, unable to stand, pushing myself past my limits because I am a working class citizen (I need my job and I've worked all my life..not rich and can just lay around and deteriorate), no help from these guys and the crazy thing is, the MRI shows the problem, the shot in the back worked for 3 weeks and I know for a fact there are alternatives to opioids and losing your desire to live. Choma needs an attitude adjustment and I am appalled by his demeanor and lack of professionalism and care. Headed to St. Louis this week to hopefully find someone who cares.... very hurt and disappointed

Experiencia negativa: Came here for a second opinion on a second foot surgery and did not have a good experience at all. Showed up 15-20 mins early and didn’t get taken back until 30-45 after my scheduled appointment time. Dr Summerhays did not make it feel like he even cared and was not optimistic about the potential of my condition getting any better. It was a waste of a day to come here.

Experiencia fantástica: Xrays and review of MRIs by Dr. Choma and Dr Johnson. Very friendly and explained results. Appointment had been scheduled by neurology clinic due to results from a nerve conduction study. I have found all medical services at University of Missouri Health care exceptional.

Experiencia negativa: Probably the worst bed side manner I've ever encountered. I havent seen anyone at all wearing gloves, including the Anesthesiologist, that was COUGHING INTO THEIR HANDS, prior to sticking my Mom. When my Mom awoke from surgery (above the knee amputation) she was confused, due to being medicated, so she was asking the nurse when the surgery was going to be (She has been absolutely terrified of this surgery and the outcome). The nurse just pulls the blanket back revealing where her leg used to be and says its already done, without asking if my mom was even prepared to see that yet. My Mom immediately starts bawling and the nurse just walks out. I'm absolutely appalled and disgusted.

Experiencia negativa: It was a nightmare. Surgery was March 10th. 2 Drs did my son's surgery. One Dr to this day we have never even met. Not even a introduction before the surgery. The procedure process was never even explained to either of us until it was over. I ask questions and got very vague answers. We got to our room at 7:04 after a long day. Was wanting my son to order dinner was told by a nurse ordering ended at 7. I stayed till Monday at 5:30 am. I left that day to rest they kept giving a pain meds but never made sure my son ordered food so he went all day without any meals. The only good about our experience was the weekend 2 female nurses that helped us. I wish I knew their names. The never really took into consideration any of my son's other medical history and I don't think they reviewed any of it and I think they were not prepared to handle it or him. He still has another hip to do and I am not sure if we may be considering other options. One unhappy mama

Experiencia negativa: Had some hardware put in my lower leg to support a broken fibula this past January. Following the operation information given to me was very vague regarding the steps need to take for recovery as if they were rushing my outpatient operation for revenues sake. The subsequent check ups in the following months were also very poor with regards to my recovery ALL OF WHICH I DIDNT SEE THE DOCTOR BUT RATHER NURSES. The final appointment was finally with Dr. Stannard, during which he schedule a final appointment 6 months out for October. Received an emailed the morning of that appointment reading it has to be rescheduled, no reason why was given. Come to find out the damn doctor is booked until three months out from now. Seems like I've been given the run around as a patient. A very common theme with current health care in this country. Outrageous prices for below average in quality of care received. Shame on you MU Ortho.

Experiencia negativa: My original surgeon was great and then he resigned. I was turned over to a different Dr At first I trusted him and thought we were getting progress made. The last visit, I felt that he blew me off. I was trying to talk to him when he got up and started for the door. I had questions and never had the chance to talk about them.

Experiencia fantástica: The initial wait time was quite long, and a little crowded. I found out why when I met with the nurses and doctors. They took the time to really understand the situation, discuss outcome goals, and discuss treatment options and answer any and all questions I had. I was most impressed by their willingness to spend the time and educate me (as an active/interested patient). I have not seen this level of initial care to seek the best outcome before.
