Owner of Recesso Physical Therapy for over 21 years, Dr. Recesso earned her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Franklin Pierce University in 2009. Graduated from Notre Dame College in 2001 with her Masters Degree in Physical Therapy. Practiced outpatient orthopedics as a licensed Physical Therapist Assistant since 1995 after earning her Associates degree from North Shore Community College. She has over 27 years of extensive manual therapy and outpatient orthopedic experience.  Dr. Recesso is licensed and board certified in both NH and Massachusetts.  Her entire team is committed to providing the highest quality in manual therapy healthcare!  Specializing in orthopedic injuries from general sprains and strains to sport related injuries emphasizing manual therapy and osteopathic techniques.  Dr Recesso prides herself and her team in being spine specialists. Many physicians will send their most complex cases to Dr Recesso to deduce the hidden culprit of their pain and help alleviate it naturally without unnecessary pain injections, surgeries, and opiods.  

Dr Recesso's past experiences include volunteering for 3 months as part of the Olympic and Paralympic Medical Team in Sydney Australia at the 2000 summer games. She is passionate about manual Physical Therapy and feels blessed to have an incredibly competent and gifted team.  Quality care and superb customer service are their number one priorities!  All of our patients are treated like family!  

Dr. Mac Nicoll is a NH licensed board certified Physical Therapist.  Joe is a 2018 graduate of Franklin Pierce College where he earned his Doctorate in Physical Therapy.  His Undergraduate degree is from the University of New England in 2015 where he earned a BS in Applied Exercise Science.  He went on to earn the prestigious Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist Certification.  Joe's vast experience includes working with Stella Strength who work with top tiered athletes from prep schools such as Belmont Hill and Roxbury Latin School.  Joe has been an athlete his entire life having played football, lacrosse, ice hockey, power lifting, and mixed martial arts.  Not only does Joe have a passion for movement but his is also very skilled in manual therapy techniques including osteopathic strain-counterstrain, instrument assisted soft tissue mobilization, dry needling, cupping, PNF, and soft tissue mobilization techniques. 

Sherry graduated with high honors in 2013 from North Shore Community College with an Associates of Science degree in Physical Therapy. She is a Physical Therapist Assistant licensed and board certified in both NH and MA. She has clinical experience in a variety of physical therapy areas, including geriatric, neurological, and orthopedic, as well as experience treating those with multiple developmental and cognitive disabilities. Sherry is married with 3 children and enjoys an active lifestyle with her family. Part of her inspiration to become a PTA is her love of group fitness and yoga, in which she has participated for over 2 decades, including classes in TRX and bosu.

With the birth of Brandon's daughter, he and his wife chose to move home to be closer to family.  Brandon is excited to be the newest addition to the Recesso PT team! 

Lauren Chouinard, PTA is a licensed board certified Physical Therapist Assistant. She graduated with her Physical Therapist Assistant associate’s degree from Mount Washington College in 2015. She also comes with 2+ years of experience providing intensive acute and subacute therapy for post operative spine, traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, amputee, multiple sclerosis, and many other seriously debilitating conditions.  Lauren also earned her Bachelors degree from St. Anslem College in English prior to completing her associates degree as a Physical Therapist Assistant.  She has extensive experience in working with athletes of all types including triathletes.  In her spare time Lauren enjoys being outdoors, cooking and hiking with her husband, their son and their dog. 

Stacey is a licensed board certified Physical Therapist Assistant.  She is also a National Academy of Sports Medicine Certified Personal Trainer.  and a certified corrective exercise specialist.  Stacey graduated in 1997 with her Physical Therapist Assistant Associates degree from Newbury College.  She has over 25 years of clinical experience working in a wide variety of settings including orthopedics, neurology, geriatrics, cardiopulmonary, oncology, and aquatic therapy.  In her spare time Stacey enjoys competing in natural bodybuilding shows and spending time with her family. 

From the South: From route 495 in Haverhill take the Route 125 North Plaistow exit.  Continue straight on 125 north.  Take a right on to Chandler Avenue after Bank of America.  Take your first left on to Garden Road.  We are number 11 mustard yellow building. 

From the North: Route 125 South.  At the Walmart entrance lights STAY IN THE FAR LEFT LANE and take a U TURN at the lights.  You will then be on route 125 North, take your first right on to Garden Road.  We are number 11 just past Coco & Early Realty  (the road Behind TD Bank)

From the South: Take US-1 to State Street, We are located at 143 State Street ground floor Unit 3. There is parking in the front of the building, on the street, or behind the building.

From the North: Take I-95 S to 110-E/Macy St in Amesbury. Take Exit 58 from I-95 S. Take a right on Merrill Street, At the roundabout, take the third exit to Merrimac St. Take a right onto State Street at the Newburyport square.  We are located on upper State St. 143.
