Resilient Physical Therapy is a small, manual physical therapy clinic in Longmont, Colorado. Molly Saunders PT, DPT, CFMT is a certified functional manual therapist focused on providing the highest quality, one-on-one care for a wide range of injuries and conditions. In-depth, holistic and detailed evaluations and individualized treatments provided in a clean, inviting environment.
I opened Resilient Physical Therapy to be able to give myself an environment in which I could truly take the time needed to understand a client and meet them where they are in their healing process. The style of physical therapy that I do requires in-depth evaluation and hands-on treatment that takes time to do correctly and is continually re-assessed and adjusted each session. If I am doing my job, you should be progressing and changing in your presentation each time and there are no cookie-cutter treatments for an evolving system.
One of the most frequent compliments I get is “this is so different from any other physical therapy I’ve ever had” and my other favorite “no one has ever asked me that” because I pride myself on investigating underlying patterns and causes, not just chasing the pain area that someone has been struggling with forever.
The out-of-network/cash pay structure of Resilient Physical Therapy allows me to bring my enthusiasm and compassion to each person and not be crushed by the quantity-over-quality schedules demanded by insurance corporations’ low reimbursement rates, denials, and arbitrary visit-limits. I value the space that it gives me to offer full hour sessions closely tailored to your individual needs, and the freedom to invest time and resources on developing and integrating new skills into your treatment sessions. I am thankful and proud of my clients who are also wiling to prioritize holistic healthcare.
I first pursued physical therapy out of a love of anatomy and biomechanics and was inspired by the first-hand experience of skilled physical therapy during my years playing rugby. The more I studied the body and the power of movement, the more respect I gained for our complexity, resilience, and ability heal ourselves given the right resources.
I earned my Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) from Hunter College in 2015 within the top three of my class, awards in anatomy and dissection, a scholarship for leadership and professional excellence, and a 95% on my national licensure exams. I first learned about the Functional Manual Therapy approach in graduate school and completed a rotation at the Institute of Physical Art’s Manhattan clinic as part of my doctorate. Motivated by their comprehensive approach of looking at the body holistically as an integrated system and treating the underlying movement dysfunctions rather than just the resulting pain or symptoms, I continued my post-graduate coursework and got my Certification in Functional Manual Therapy (CFMT) with Honors in 2018.
I practiced for several years in New York City before moving back to Colorado where I was born and raised. I am continually improving the depth and diversity of what I bring to the clinic, taking multiple continuing education courses each year including the Barral Institute approach for visceral manipulation (work for organs, neural and vascular tissues), pelvic floor and pelvic health approaches through Herman and Wallace, and various other therapeutic techniques.
Resilient Physical Therapy: Opiniones
Experiencia fantástica: A highly trained and laser focused physical therapist like this can be few and far between. The practice of Functional Manual Therapy is known to only a small elite group of Doctors of Physical Therapy, and I'm incredibly grateful to have access to this here in Longmont. I would drive hours to receive the benefits of this therapy. To me, the cost is nominal for something that completely fixes persistent pain, and especially when compared to costs and pains of surgery that don't even fix the problems. And surgery doesn't ever fully restore function, but this Functional Manual Therapy has 100% restored literally a half dozen chronic problems I had that each warranted surgery. I've been extremely fortunate to be treated by a couple of the founders of this Functional Manual Therapy practice, and when I moved to the area was so thrilled to find Dr Molly Saunders right here in Longmont. She is so fully competent and creative with restoring function to joints and movement; there is a whole-body approach to each treatment, and restoration to the full kinetic chains for pain-free movement. Its really life changing to live pain free, and I'm eternally grateful for it.
Experiencia fantástica: Dr. Molly Saunders is a fantastic, thoughtful and knowledgeable physical therapist! Over the years she has helped me with many injuries and chronic ailments. She is empathetic, patient and has greatly increased my mobility in a number of ways!
