Rehabilitation Services, composed of Brigham and Women's Hospital physical therapists, physical therapist assistants, occupational therapists, speech therapists, nurses, and athletic trainers, is committed to working closely with patients to return them to the highest level of activity possible after injury or illness. The Rehabilitation Service will develop collaborative programs with both external physicians and with those physicians who practice at the Center for areas of identified patient need. Our program includes:

Individualized therapy provided to patients with various conditions including, but not limited to Brain injury, Concussion, Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease, Stroke, and other neurological disorders. Therapy may include the following:

Lymphedema is swelling that may occur in individuals that have been diagnosed cancer, have undergone surgeries related to removal of the tumor(s), removal of lymph nodes, radiation therapy, scar tissue, or infection, and less typically, lymphedema can be hereditary. Physical Therapy (PT) for the management of lymphedema involves a thorough initial evaluation and development of an individualized treatment plan. Treatment may include manual lymphatic drainage (MLD), compression bandaging, exercise and the recommendation of appropriate equipment such as compression stockings, and pneumatic pumps.

Involves the evaluation and treatment of an extensive range of musculoskeletal conditions involving the extremities and the spine. Including but not limited to:

The evaluation and treatment of individuals of all gender identities and sexual orientations, for both the adult and pediatric population, including but not limited to:

Your follow-up appointments will generally be a half an hour in length. The frequency and duration of your appointments is based on your current rehabilitation needs which will be identified and discussed with you on your first visit.

If you are unable to attend an appointment, please call us as soon as possible so that we can use the appointment time for another patient. If you miss more than three appointments in a row without notifying us or if we have not seen you for greater than 30 days you will be discharged from therapy and will need to get a new Doctor’s Referral to be re-evaluated.

When arriving for your appointment please check in with the Practice Assistant. We make every attempt to run our clinic on time. This however, may be altered if our patients are not on time or if we have unforeseen emergency situations. If you arrive more than 10 minutes late please make sure to identify yourself to the Practice Assistants. Depending upon how late you are and the flow of the clinic during that particular time, we may need to reschedule your appointment.

We are providers for most insurance plans. If you have a managed care plan that requires an insurance referral you must obtain the referral prior to your first appointment. If you are unsure of your insurance benefit for rehabilitation, we recommend you call your insurance plan for specific details. It is your responsibility for knowing your insurance plan’s benefits. Please note that some plans have different benefits for physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy. If you have any additional questions regarding your insurance please contact our Managed Care Coordinator whom would be happy to assist you.

If you require the need of an interpreter please identify this need to the secretary scheduling your appointment. We will then arrange for an interpreter to assist you during your appointment.

Experiencia fantástica: The staff are so knowledgeable and professional. They take their time to understand what you're going through. The facility is very clean and stocked very well with equipment that you can use for rehab. The therapists also help with starting from scratch and helping you go along at a perfect speed to make sure you heal. Great!

Experiencia positiva: Great Drs and Nurses. Always perfectly clean and people around to assist. But if you are enforcing the mask rule, you might want to check your receptionists. 4th time in a row going there to be greeted by a mask below there nose. Come on now

Experiencia fantástica: Building security remembered and inquired about a family member’s health. Responsive, engaged team throughout.
