Becky Groff, PTA has been in a physical therapy outpatient orthopedic setting for over 21 years. In 1999, she graduated from the Cerritos College Physical Therapist Assistant program with highest honors beginning her career as a licensed Physical Therapist Assistant. Becky was a multi-sport scholar-athlete in high school then played softball at the collegiate level. She pursued Physical Therapy and Athletic Training after experiencing an injury of her own. She dedicated her first 3 years as a PTA working with children in a Pediatric orthopedic and aquatic outpatient clinic. In 2002, she joined California Rehab and Sports Therapy at the Newport Beach location. Her experiences include working with a variety of orthopedic conditions including sports and soft tissue injuries, balance problems, and post-operative care. She has had an emphasis on complex shoulder rehabilitation since 2003 successfully incorporating manual therapy techniques into her treatment. Outside of work Becky enjoys sports, gardening, playing golf, camping and hiking with her husband and 2 children.

Ed Detels has been practicing hand therapy for over 20 years in Orange County. He has a Master’s Degree in Occupational Therapy and obtained his national designation as a Certified Hand Therapist in 2002. He partnered with PRN to found California Hand Therapy in 2005, which has grown to 11 centers and employs 8 certified hand therapist as the leading outpatient hand therapy group on the West coast. Ed obtained his certification in ASTYM (a soft-tissue mobilization technique) as well as extensive continuing education with custom splinting, kinesiotape application and nerve mobilization. Ed is the father of three.

Henry is a Bay Area native who obtained his Doctorate in Physical Therapy from California State University Long Beach. His enthusiasm for physical therapy first developed through his love of kinesiology and sports. Henry is passionate about technology and is continuously keeping up with the latest advancement in modern rehab. He enjoys working with all patient populations and is a strong advocate of hands-on manual therapy. In his spare time, Henry enjoys playing football, cycling, and exploring the outdoors.

Joel is Southern California native with nearly 20 years of experience of practicing in the field of Occupational Therapy. He obtained his degree as an Occupational Therapy Assistant from Loma Linda University and went on to obtain specializations in Hand therapy. Joel’s specializations include manual therapy certifications in ASYTM, Orthopedic Splinting, NDT training, neural mobilization training, and Kinesio Taping. Joel has extensive experiences working with CHT’s on complicated and traumatic injuries to the hand, wrist, and elbow. Joel enjoys working full time treating patients and serving as a mentor for many Level 1 and 2 COTA students. Joel is supported by his wife and two young kids and enjoys surfing both waves, and restaurants.

Roger has been practicing physical therapy for forty-two years in outpatient orthopedics and sports rehabilitation. He graduated from California State University at Long Beach in 1975. For the past seventeen years, he has directed and co-directed the office in Newport Beach. He has attended national and local courses pertaining to shoulder rehabilitation. He works closely with local renowned orthopedic surgeons developing the most up to date surgical and non-surgical shoulder rehabilitation protocols. He observes surgeries on a regular basis. He has undergone four shoulder surgeries himself and is extremely empathetic to patients recovering for shoulder surgery. In his spare time, Roger enjoys surfing, cycling, and weight training.

With a knee injury I was referred to California Rehabilitation for physical therapy. From the minute I walked in I was greeted by a positive, friendly receptionist followed by a most positive experience with physical therapists and aides who were knowledgeable, patient, understanding and caring. It was a pleasure to have to go to PT for exercise sessions. They are truly a top notch operation and get an A+ from me!!!!

I recently had a hip surgery from an accident and was trying to get into this clinic however the receptionist was rude and didn’t answer my calls or respond to my voicemail. I went else where and am very happy.

Please wear or bring comfortable athletic/workout clothing to change into. This includes shorts or sweatpants, a t-shirt and sneakers. Your attire should also allow easy access to your injured area for treatment by your physical therapist.

If you are unable to attend an appointment, we require at least 24 hours' notice. However, we do understand than an occasional emergency or illness may arise, in which case you may have to cancel your appointment closer to your scheduled time.

We accept most major insurances including Medicare, Tricare and workers’ compensation plans. Before your initial visit, we will verify in and out of network benefits with your insurance company. The cost of therapy is determined by the benefits of your insurance plan, including the deductible and co-pay, or patient percentage. We are happy to check with your insurance company to determine the terms of your coverage. Payment for patient responsibility is due at the time of service.
