Experiencia fantástica: I didn't realize until I had done multiple rounds of physical therapy what a difference an average vs great physical therapist makes. As a result, when I recently needed PT, I asked around to find the best physical therapist I could. I'm not local, but several friends highly recommended Core PT to me. The commute was well worth it to get that level of care. I worked with 2 different therapists at Core Physical Therapy. They are the most skilled, caring, exceptional physical therapists I've ever worked with. I was so impressed at their level of care and expertise in so many different areas that I asked them where they were trained. They hand select expert therapists/trainers from across the country to do in house training for all their staff each year. It shows. Thank you!

Experiencia fantástica: I was lucky enough to get in to see Lindsay, and she is beyond WONDERFUL! One of the BEST pt's I've EVER seen (and I've been to a few!) She is not only knowledgeable and kind, but also very understanding. She creates a very safe space for trust, which is what I was able to do when she worked her magic on me. I truly believe she has healing hands. I loved how she explained things too that made more sense (the exercises), and how non-judgmental she was when I fessed that I wasn't doing some of them. When I told her that I didn't feel comfortable doing some, she either made adjustments or gave other options that were just as helpful. Lindsay is a true gem. I'm so grateful to have been able to see her.

From the moment I met her, she actively listened to my story and gave me hope that I would get better and have a full life allowing me to cherish my family, my community, my work and everything in between. This is my story. I was having unexplained dizzy spells. Several MRIs of the brain, CT scans, cardiologist workups, and everything in between, I was referred to CORE by a close friend. During my first visit with Kirsten, she explained to me the intricate workings of the vestibular system. She kept the conversation simple and provided me with a plethora of resources and tools to regain my life back. When I say Kirsten gave me my life back, I truly mean it! If you have been experiencing random dizzy spells or just do not feel right with your balance or stability, please go see her. She will help you lead a healthy and happy life and be your best self again.

Kirsten took the time to learn my medical journey and in ONE VISIT began to address what no other doctor/chiropractor/massage therapist could figure out. She was so comforting and real about birth trauma... I wish I'd found her sooner and I tell everyone I know about how she has literally changed my life.

My husband had been sharing how pleased he was with his therapist, Alex Spencer, PT, DPT. My appointment was with Laura Palmer, PT, DPT. She has to be second to none. Her biography tells of classes she has taken in addition to her degrees. As I write this, she is preparing for additional classes. I have felt much better after starting with Laura. What I really enjoy is her ability to be personable while maintaining her professionalism. I have not given many "A+"s in my 43 years in the classroom, but I think I would have to give one to Laura and Core Physical Therapy.

Experiencia fantástica: I all of a sudden had such bad jaw pain that I could barely open my mouth. My dentist referred me to Core for PT. I had no idea what to expect, but after just one session with Kerri, I already saw huge progress. Now just a short 4 sessions later, the pain is all but gone! Kerri is a pleasure to work with. Experiencia negativa: I saw Alex 4 times for TMJ. She gave me an at-home stretch but otherwise for all 4 sessions I laid on a table while she held my head and I took a nap. There was no explanation or at-home program. She is a nice lady but there was absolutely no benefit. I changed providers and had a great experience elsewhere. I did not pay my 4 co-pays and asked to have it written off since I received no benefit. I was told no. I explained my position and left voice mails and wrote notes on bills that I did not pay. No one called me to explain anything or at least to say they felt bad that I had an unsuccessful experience. It was a bad physical therapy and customer service experience. I have had to eventually pay and I filed a complaint with the Iowa Licensing Division.

Experiencia fantástica: When I went to core physical therapy my TMJ was so bad I could not open my mouth to eat, my dentist could not clean my teeth and I was in a lot of pain. Within two weeks I could tell a big difference. Now after six weeks I am almost back to normal. I can eat whatever I want and the dentist could clean my teeth. Laura the PT at core therapy did a great job she was very knowledgeable and caring. I would recommend core physical therapy to everyone!

She knows which exercises and massage help you to progress in your therapy with little to no pain. Very professional! You will be sad when your therapy is finished, and want to continue a friendship with her after the therapy.

Experiencia fantástica: I have been working with Laura for a few months to treat a couple of minor issues that I was having. Laura is patient and kind during all treatment sessions plus she asks all of the important questions. While we were working together and chatting about life we discovered that there were other issues I was having that people in her office could further help with as better fit their speciality/focus. I began working with Connor to get dry needling done on my shoulders to help my elbow! I know, sounds crazy, but that’s what Core does is get to the core of the issue at hand! As someone who finally started working out regularly at 40 years old, I truly appreciated Connor taking the time to teach me how to properly move my body during different exercises. I’ve also been working with Alex to deal with issues that, as women, we don’t talk about. Not everything that happens to us after giving birth/aging has to be the way it is - there are ways to remedy some of the issues and let’s start having open conversations so we all know! I can’t recommend the Core team and especially Laura enough! They can help with issues far beyond what someone might think of for physical therapy. Their approach is unique!

Experiencia fantástica: I have been a cashier at Target on Valley West Drive for many years. I recently took 2 weeks off of work for eye surgery. My routine changed from my usual standing and walking at my job. I suddenly began experiencing severe pain in my knee, lower back, and leg. I called Kathy at Core Physical Therapy. She quickly scheduled me for therapy with Laura Palmer PT. Laura treated me for 6 weeks with a combination of strength and stretch exercises. Her hands are simply magic and she finds ways to feel and hear what is going on with me to get me back to my healthy state! In 2019 she helped me through my low back pain and got me on the healing path to walk pain free! In 2023 she has been working with me after a bilateral mastectomy. She has not only increased my range of motion, she has helped to alleviate the muscle spasms I would get in my chest area. She loves what she does and is always learning for her patients benefit! Also, she really spends time working on your body, not just putting you on a machine or telling you to do exercises. Also, they are prompt on getting you in. He gave patients realistic explanations for recovery time and exercises to do at home that are easy and effective. I am glad to have a reliable Physical Therapist to refer to when needed. Experiencia fantástica: I have had back problems for years but never did much about it, concerned it would take a year or more of treatment and thousands of dollars to correct. I woke up one morning unable to straighten my back. I decided it was time to do something. I set an appointment with Blake at Core. After one session and a week of daily stretches/exercises that he taught me I went from being unable to straighten my back to being at least 95% recovered. A quick follow up with Blake the next week was all that was needed. He taught me some additional exercises to do on my own to strengthen my back. What I thought would take a year and thousands of dollars took a week and about $40 (insurance co-pay) for Blake to fix. I HIGHLY recommend Blake and Core PT!

Experiencia fantástica: Who knew that I could need physical therapy after visiting the dentist? I needed a root canal and a crown and after having the work done, my jaw was extremely sore and I could hardly speak or eat. After a couple weeks of waiting for things to get better (and not!), I called Dr. Jordan Wachter at CORE PT. I wish I had called sooner. After a few visits I was back to normal and I am so thankful. I’ve been back to see Jordan for some other issues that needed his assistance and he does a fantastic job every time.

Experiencia fantástica: Hurt my shoulder years ago and hoped it would heal on it's own. I was at a point of needing surgery due to the pain and thought I'd try PT first. Went to Core and met with Kate D. She was empathic, and I felt that she truly listened to my concerns. With her help, my pain has been reduced from a level 9 to a 1 in a 6 month time frame. I would highly recommend Kate & CORE if you're struggling. If you're committed to do the exercises and stretches, she can help you! The two gals at the front desk are great too..entire office is kind.

Just yesterday Mary Beth did a dura treatment. It was amazing to feel the gradual release of the tightness in my muscles flow down my body. More than 40 years ago I was in a near fatal automobile accident that left me with multiple fractures and trauma to my body. Since that time I have had several surgeries. As I age (I'm now 68), those old injuries have been causing me increased pain, weakness, and reduced range of motion for several years. Lindsay is addressing these issues with remarkable knowledge and skill. She provides exercises to target weaknesses that are within my abilities. Experiencia fantástica: I have seen Noel a few times. She is the bomb! Her treatment room is very inviting and calming. Noel is very friendly and concerned about my pain and progress. I don't know how she does it, but after a few visits, she releives my pain and I am able to walk without excruciating pain! Love her! I am not hooked up to any contraptions or balancing on balls. Rather, I am laying on her treatment bed as she gently touches the injured area; no pain! I love my PT visits with her. We chat and laugh for a half hour while she does the "laying of the hands" on my hips and knees. I would highly reccomend Noel ☺☺. The only negative about Core's West Des Moines location is their "handicap ramp". It is like climbing Mt. Everest without a safety harness

Experiencia fantástica: I do not have enough words to describe the outstanding skills of Ellen Majewski as a Doctor of Physical Therapy. Her work is a pure masterpiece! I have cervical headaches with some irritated cranial nerves and Ellen helps me manage and relieve my pains and issues. I can live a normal life thanks to her. She has been helping me for 5 years already. Her professionalism, kindness, and expertise can not be matched with anyone else who helped me out during my struggles. Ellen can sense when I am anxious and then she relaxes me with jokes or some other calming words on top of everything that she already does for me. She puts a great effort to learn what my body can handle and what it can not, and she learns about it quickly. Ellen has a very gentle touch when doing her therapy exercises for me. I recently had the BPPV vertigo and Ellen treated that very well too. I already had a huge relief after Ellen treated me only twice. She is multi talented especially when it comes to her knowledge about the human body, which is excellent. She has an understanding for all concerns that I have, listens to them, and explains everything that I want to know. She is my life savior!

In 2018 had a massive tear in shoulder that required immediate surgery. I started in 2018 , after surgery, to go to Core Therapy. I made an appointment and was seen by therapist Mary Beth Wims. We worked out a schedule and with her help I’ve lessened my pain meds, over time. Her knowledge and expertise are outstanding!! Mary Beth Wims truly cares about each patient she sees. You will not find a better place than Core Therapy in West Des Moines. The receptionist, Kathy, always has a smile to greet you and help with all paperwork and appointment’s. YOU WILL BE HAPPY YOU DECIDED TO CHOOSE “CORE THERAPY” !!!

In 2018 had a massive tear in shoulder that required immediate surgery. I started in 2018 , after surgery, to go to Core Therapy. I made an appointment and was seen by therapist Mary Beth Wims. We worked out a schedule and with her help I’ve lessened my pain meds, over time. Her knowledge and expertise are outstanding!! Mary Beth Wims truly cares about each patient she sees. You will not find a better place than Core Therapy in West Des Moines. The receptionist, Kathy, always has a smile to greet you and help with all paperwork and appointment’s. YOU WILL BE HAPPY YOU DECIDED TO CHOOSE “CORE THERAPY” !!!

I would not be walking if not for being their patient due to my fibromyalgia and arthritis. I have recommended Core to probably over 100+ people. My parents, siblings/spouses, children and grandchildren are patients now as well. I see Lindsay Brown, but have seen almost everyone else when I was unable to see Lindsay. I cannot say enough good about Core Physical Therapy! They are nothing like most physical therapist out there.

Experiencia fantástica: I've had various issues over the years. I went to a couple other places before here but I found that I really like the staff here and I find the office comfortable. Sometimes I feel kinda silly with some of the exercises because it doesn't really feel like exercise (I suspect that isn't the clearest description) but since it works I can't really complain about it.

Experiencia fantástica: I thought I was having knee problems, but it turned out to be a butt muscle problem. Now my knee is fine. These folks really do know what they are doing are are incredibly compassionate, patient, and professional. I would send everyone here.

Experiencia negativa: I have gone to Steve Clark for the past 15 years then I got a letter from Core, the company Steve started, telling me he had retired. I hadn’t gone for a while because I’ve been to some of the other therapist and it wasn’t the same experience so I decided to see if he was still practicing just not at Core and found him working near valley junction. He never retired he moved on from Core but I was never told! Too bad Core couldn’t just let me know he moved on to another place instead of thinking I had to use someone else at Core. I don’t like being lied to. Very disappointed in this company.

Experiencia fantástica: Excellent place for all types of physical therapy and general aches, pains and soreness. It is hard to describe but Core PT is just different and AWESOME! It is my first call! They listen and discover the real source of your issues and immediately begin steps to ease your pain! As someone who has played sports for most of my 49 years on this earth I have a lot of nagging aches and pains that I used to chalk up to previous abuse to my body (that I would never change to be without pain today). However, the therapists at Core PT find those issues and make life a lot less physically painful!

Experiencia fantástica: I recently saw Dr Wims for some chronic back pain, and was very impressed. I’ve been struggling with my back pain for over 7 years, with increased difficulty the last 2, and Dr Wims took the time to do a full assessment and ask many questions to get to the root of my issue. My pain improved after our first visit and by the 2nd visit we reviewed simple exercises I could do at home to help improve my mobility and reduce some joint stress I had been experiencing. I would highly recommend her practice for any patients who have chronic pain!

Experiencia fantástica: If you need PT, GO HERE!!! CORE Physical Therapy is AMAZING! I have seen Dr. Ellen Majewski for several different issues and have experienced complete healing. She has even helped significantly with my migraines! I have also seen a few of the other therapists at the clinic and have nothing but great things to say about all of them. I recommend CORE to everyone I know that could use a physical therapist, especially since they use manual manipulation techniques on you for 40-45 minutes rather than throwing you on exercise equipment and periodically checking in. I can't say enough great things about them! They also have a handy app that you can use for your exercises and communication with your doctor.

Experiencia fantástica: Noel at Core is absolutely amazing. This is not your typical physical therapy spot. You’re not on machine and over doing it, they know massage techniques to make your muscles and joints and INJURIES repair!!! Just go give them a shot FIRST not last when you feel like giving up. I have a very rare genetic condition that I was weary about letting anyone touch me but to have such sincere pain relief!

She really took the time to find out what was causing the pain and worked to free the tension and inflammation in my foot. She worked around my schedule and made each session enjoyable and relaxing. It’s horrible what really happened and how they treated Steve. I wouldn’t give Core my business for lying to everyone in order to gain more business. This is pride, greed, and jealousy. You guys should be ashamed of yourself.

Experiencia fantástica: This is written in support of Mary Beth Wims, Pt, DPT at CORE PT West Des Moines. I’m a 77 year old retired Professional Engineer who has survived three cancers (with no treatments)! I’ve had physical therapy a few times ... the most recent following shoulder/rotator cuff surgery at a large Clinic in MN. Surgery was three hours correcting 20 issues (10 tears) listed on my Radiology Report. Clinic recommended CORE, and Mary Beth was my therapist for 15 sessions where my therapeutic score went from 54% to 92%! If you need PT help, I highly recommend Mary Beth Wims! She is very knowledgeable of anatomy and PT techniques to improve health ... she helped me a lot ..... very quickly. She is a very professional and nice person!

I have needed to have physical therapy a few different times and Lindsay Brown always finds and fixes the problem. I just recently had ankle surgery and the only person that I would ever go to is Lindsay Brown, she has a gift of healing.

Experiencia fantástica: I can't speak highly enough about CORE physical therapy. Especially my therapist, Dr. Jenna Wexter. For any of you out there who have suffered from pain for years and have been through all the hoops (doctors, x rays, c scans, mri scans, procedures, physical therapy, stretches and so on and so forth) and now just think there is no hope and you are just going to have to live with it . . . YOU DON'T!!!! I went to Dr. Wexter because I was told CORE was different than anything I have done before. But as you can see from my list above - I was very skeptical. I tell you what, CORE really is different. For the first time in my life my mobility and pain has significantly decreased and I am running again!!! So, if you have been like me and gave up, don't give up just yet. Go see Dr. Wexter first. You don't have to live in chronic pain. WHOOHOO!!

Experiencia fantástica: Its not like me to write a review but I am so impressed and blessed to have found Core Physical Therapy I have to share how great they are. I have been a athlete my entire life. Between high school and collegiate sports I have seen my fair share of Physical Therapist. I still today compete in bodybuilding and strongman competitions but fight injuries from a life of being an athlete. One of the main injuries that has stuck with me is my 3 knee surgeries and I never thought the pain I would get from my knee would ever go away. I have tried physical therapy in the past and didn't work and I have sought help from other doctors. All ended up with never getting a diagnoses on what was going on in tell I saw Dr. Jenna Wexter at Core Physical Therapy. It didn't take but of all 5 seconds to tell me what it was and by the time the first appointment was over I had hope to be able to continue my lifestyle as an athlete pain free. After just a few months of seeing Dr. Wexter she had helped me so much and gave me the knowledge on the areas I needed to strengthen to help prevent my knee from hurting again. The knowledge Dr. Wexter gave me and with still applying it today, I am super stocked to say I am stronger then I have ever been in the weight room. I dead lifted 750 pounds and front squatted 500 pounds just to give you an example of the lifter I am. That would of never happened without Dr. Wexter and Core Physical Therapy. I would recommend anybody trying to rid themselves of pain from past surgeries or injuries to go to Core Physical Therapy! They are like nothing you will have ever experienced between there amount of knowledge and there hands on approach.
