Experiencia negativa: Just watched on the news. It's so sad that someone had to put a camera in her husband's bedroom in order to see the abuse going on. The fact that they're not doing anything about this is very sad and scary to me. I hope after being on the news for the second time in the row. After this going on that, they finally start doing something to change their behavior. People shouldn't be abused, You trust these people with your family members and friends just for them to get neglected. I hope that after bad reviews and the news, reaching out about this story will finally make them understand that they need to do something. You shouldn't have to put a camera up because of your suspecting abuse. It was an obvious camera too. That just shows they really don't care if they get caught. I really hope that over time, this place will get better. Seriously, this isn't okay.
Experiencia negativa: Just don’t, waste of time. If you’re competent, compassionate, honest and actually come to work to make a difference in the quality of care these residents receive they will make up lies to get your on the do not return list with no explanation. This place should be closed indefinitely with not only WRAL covering several cases, every news outlet should be investigating this place along with DHHS and the health department. If you care about your loved ones, do not place them at this facility.

Experiencia negativa: Do not bring your love ones here. This place should not be open. They neglect their patients and half wash them up. The employees are trash with nasty attitudes. I hate this place with all of me. I would give it 0 stars if it was possible.

Apparently it has not changed and they are multiple investigations under way.......If i could give this place a zero i would. Last night there was a fight in the center. My friend lays in her B/M before anyone comes in. When a resident pulls the cord for help, no one comes. I have had to go out in the hall too many times to find help. Food arrives late and no consistency with care. If there is physical therapy, it is when they want to do it. If you care for your friend or family member, this is not the place you want them to be.

Understaffed, unskill , and the wash clothes looks like they were used to change motors from cars and the staff tell you lies . My husband went by accident. I tried everyday to get him to the VA hospital. That's all I'm gonna say about them although I could go on

Experiencia fantástica: All the staff say hi to my mom and tell me how much they enjoy her whenever I visit her. She seems clean and well cared for. They call me way more often than the fancy assisted living place where she was. And the staff seem happy to me—I hear them laughing and joking with each other—if the staff is happy then the residents are much more likely to be happy. Keep up the good work!

Experiencia fantástica: My friend Chuck was at Carver for several months at the end of his life. I will never forget the sweet care that was given to him during that time. The nurses and Staff really worked hard together to make it a positive experience despite the difficulties of being elderly and getting through all of that.❤️

Experiencia fantástica: This is a skilled nursing facility that has caring staff and a clean facility. No small feat! Martin is facility staff and does a terrific job plus connect with the patients. Experiencia negativa: This facility needs to be shut down. Poor help, very uncaring. It's pretty bad when your own staff tells you not to trust the place. Physical therapy has to evaluate before the CNA's can take patient to the bathroom I get that, but if the patient has to go to the bathroom and you can't help, they sit or lay on pee until someone comes to help, then you have the problem with skin breakdowns. Vitals are only taken at the beginning or a 12 hour shift and not checked again until the end. Please do not place your loved ones here unless you want them to pass quickly.

Experiencia negativa: My mom was sent here for two weeks of physical therapy after a short hospital stay. She was physically injured during physical therapy, the PT blamed my mother for not cooperating, my mom got a MRSA infection while at the facility, and ultimately passed away due to sepsis. There’s so much more to this, but if you have to send a loved one to skilled nursing, please choose anywhere but this awful place.

Experiencia negativa: This facility needs to be shut down immediately!!!!!!! They have no sense of urgency for their patients nor their employees . This corporation is an absolute ZOO. There is no professionalism and seems as though the state is paying them a visit every month ! Due to their of lack of diligence. As for someone who has had their grandmother there for 4 years . I finally said enough is enough and had her discharged . Please if you have any empathy for our human species please do not trust them as an employer nor to take care of your loved ones !!!!!!!

Experiencia negativa: Carver has truly went down! It’s so sad to see! The heart and soul of Carver has went away and corporate has stepped in! Carver use to be the place to work & now it’s just a place to work! People stepping in With their egos and not considering the people who put their personal lives on hold to take care of these residents for years that are now being done dirty by people who could care less about those residents ! An it’s so funny how the rules and policies are changed and directed towards the nursing staff especially the CNA’s ‼️ What about the Administrative staff??? ***Update:*** I was retaliated against for making this post on google. The administrator did his homework, harassing different Carver employees about the persons real name behind this review. Then I was told by a supervisor that I couldn’t return to work until I spoke to the DON. I went in to talk to her and retrieved the administrator from his office. The administrator came out and asked me if I was to talk, I stated yes, then he preceded to say I have to leave my phone at the front desk in order come in his office to conversate! So when I denied leaving my phone out in the front desk, he stated he’s does not want to be recorded and didn’t want to have the conversation! This type of behavior by the administration staff is trickling down to the care of the residents! We are severely unstaffed so it is impossible to correctly care for the residents like they should be. The staff can’t speak out against anything or they will be retaliated against! These people especially the administrator could care less about the residents care only his image!!

Experiencia negativa: My Brother was not clean at all and his room was nasty. They would have to show me that they are doing better every time I come to see him.
Experiencia negativa: The staff members are very rude to Agency staff including residents. Facility is unsanitary, I would not recommend none of my family or friends to this facility.
Experiencia fantástica: The attendants, and nurses who takes care of the patients at Carver should be applauded for the work they are doing. My Mom is at Carver 6 months now, and when I visit, I find that everyone there are very professional, friendly, caring, and takes pride in the work they do. The only thing is that it takes months to get eyes, and hearing tests for my Mom. Otherwise, the people who works at Carver are the best.

Experiencia negativa: This place needs to be closed especially the long term side of the facility. Staff lazy and does not care for patients, walking around and talking on their personal cell phones and listening to music while they have suppose to be working. One nurse in particular sit at end of hall, and unable to assist patients when needed. When you ask nurse for something they says they will get it and normally you have to ask a second time. Rooms nasty and smelly. Patients not given baths and patients bathrooms looks like a storage unit. THE STATE BOARD NEED TO SHUT THIS FACILITY DOWN.

Experiencia negativa: I just saw in one of the reviews that Bono left. He was the kindest, most caring man while also being the best professional nurse there. May as well close your doors if you don’t have Bono. If I could give less than one star I would. My Husband was there for many years. He Starting getting injuries in Feb. that were NEVER explained to us. He passed away in March at Duke and we never heard any of the heartfelt compassionate care that they claim on their voice message that you have to listen to cause you are lucky if anyone ever answers the phone. Not one person there EVER called or communicated anything after his death Not even to tell us when we could pick up his things. I heard from doctors who cared for him once or twice a year but not the place where he lived for years. The very opposite of compassionate if you ask me.

Experiencia negativa: Every bad review about this place is spot on and none of the positive reviews are accurate, this is possibly one of the worst places to put your loved ones if you actually love them. They’re putting a show room on the rehab side to make it seem like it’s such a nice place to live when the rest of the building looks like garbage. I’ve only genuinely met 5 nice staff. This place sucks to live or work I don’t recommend at all. Oh and they put on the biggest front when state is in the building, also the replies to the bad reviews are hilarious because they do not care about your bad feedback at all especially that HR woman rodesha.

Experiencia fantástica: I had a very good experience at Carver yesterday. I was really concerned about a few things that I noticed with a friend who is a patient. I was not sure who to speak to. I told this to the nurse Chrystal Harris in the dementia unit. Chrystal listened attentively, recorded my concerns and reported to me the steps that she was going to take to make sure that these issues are resolved. I was very pleased with her professionalism, courtesy and her genuine caring attitude. Chrystal Harris is an excellent nurse and definitely a valuable asset to Carver. I came there with concerns and felt really good when I left because of Chrystal Harris.

Experiencia negativa: If your loved one has Alzhiemers stay away.Staff never knows how they get injured or where there personal items are.You put money in there account yet haircuts and shaves are rarely given.Where are security or nurses at night.Because injuries seem to happen then and some are serious and done by other patients.

Experiencia negativa: They were nice about accepting my dad because he deals with short term memory at a young age, but the sanitation of the place was not that good. He was originally placed in a room with another roommate, but had to be moved after other patients there would come to his room and lay in his bed or take his personal items. Then the room he got switched to had a toliet that would constantly clogg up and asked for house keeping, which never came in during that time. Another problem they had was workers not wearing their mask or not wearing them properly even though they had unvaccinated people working there which most likely led to the outbreak that occurred there (more than 19 cases was reported), leading to my dad being moved to a "quarantined" area. Once again my father has short term memory, but was not getting enough sleep and started to hallucinate from lack of sleep and lack of care of the need of changing his medication. Now they claim the area he was in was in a locked area, but here's able to escape from his window and run away. When the cops were called it freaked him out and they had to detain him and was sent to Duke Hospital where he was told he was not allowed to come back to Carver. Now if he was actually in a secured place he wouldn't have been able to escape, but once again they don't care and easily put the blame on someone who barely remembers when has eaten anything. Also, do not be fooled they rarely do activities with their dementia patients. They only record a little bit that they do and then ignore them to talk to their peers. I've seen a patient at the entrance of the dementia area for almost an hour and only moved him when people needed to enter or exit the so called secured area. I would only recommend this place if you're desperate. Now my father is locked at a psych ward and having to scrabble to find a place where he can be safe and secured for his own safety because Carver Rehab didn't. They really don't care about the well being of their patients, only the money they received. Now my sister will not be working there after getting covid from there and after being so heartless about my father's mental health. She only took a second job there to keep an eye on him, even though she wasn't working in his area.

Experiencia negativa: It's sad I been going through this for a while it's a bad feeling when you want to hear from a love one and staff puts you on hold. At first they answer the phone politely they say sure hold and they literally mean hold for a long period of time. There are times they even hang up on me it's a dam shame you can't even speak to a love one on a special holiday like today.

Experiencia negativa: My Auntie had b/m on her when I arrived. I don't know how long it had been on her. I gave her a hug and all I could smell was b/m. Then checked her closet for her clothing that her son brought for mother's day, she had nothing. Was told to check laundry room personnel about her clothing. When I confronted them about her clothing they don't know what happened to them. It's a disgrace when you buy things and they go missing. Very Dissatisfied with the sevices provided there.

Experiencia positiva: Place is well organized, quiet, room seems cozy. Signing-in takes 2 minutes. You should remember to sign off when leaving. I have one complaint - I would change/remove the question pertaining to C19 "vaccination status" - this is a very private issue between me and my doctor only, it should not concern the facility at all. One star off for this intrusion into privacy. Other than that, no complaints!

Experiencia negativa: If I could give zero stars, I would! This place smells disgusting and the staff there steals from patients. Every time I visited my grandmother, it smelled as if they mopped the floors in piss. I went in her bathroom on one occasion, and it was completely filthy. My grandmother constantly complained about missing items. During her time there, she had a fall and there was no report taken about the incident. When we asked to see the paperwork about her fall the head nurse said she was going to find it and never came back. Please don’t bring your loved ones here, because they will be neglected.

Experiencia negativa: Feb 2023 I am changing my review to a 2 star. the Current ADM is awful she needs to work on Customer Service Skills and stop thinking she owns Carver. she doesn't. And understand she is an employee, and she needs to be approachable. She has a very bad disposition about herself. AS a family member with a concern she spoke to me like I was below her. I think not. It is my right to advocate for my mom there. She is running the good employees away too. And Carver is going backwards. When I visit there i feel the tension in the air and the patients even look tensed. Lisa Johnson needs to return, before Carver seek deeper in a hole. The employee's MORAL is down. No one is going the extra mile to make it a smooth day for everyone in involved. The New ADM needs to know that Attitude Breeds Attitude. No now should be talked to like a child._______________________________________________________ It Broke my heart to hear Bono left. HE was the best of the best there. And truly worked hard to make everyone feel welcome at Carver. Unlike this new ADM she is standoff and unapproachable. End of my update from my observations of things at Carver now. I am calling to check on my mom today. And there is no answer in my mom's room or at the facility. Why? I am worried now. Makes no sense neither phone is connecting. Update from 5 months ago. July 7, 2022, my mom is still at Carver some things have improved with time. In part I am a very proactive person when it comes to my loved ones. And I am a hands-on type of person when it comes to my mom. I make sure she is safe and ok daily. I get it that Health care is facing serious challenges across the board. Still, those that choose that line of work, must realize they signed up to take care of another human and someone's loved one and must treat them the way they would want to be treated if they were in their position. And treat them the way they would want their mom or grandparent to be treated. I thank My God everyday my mom who is 83 years old is still with her sound mind and can communicate to me whatever is going on with her that she does not agree with. I feel bad for those patients that cannot communicate with their family their concerns. And I pray those that are there to care for them have a heart to make sure they take good care of them as if it was their family member there. Carver has a few good caring medical personnel there. To name a few and what grade I would give them: Bono Unit Manager, I give him an A+ always caring and concerned about all of the patients and family concerns. Silva CNA A+ who is always caring and willing to help out wherever she can I was visit my mom on July 6 and I need help adjusting her in the bed. Silva when my mom was in short term care took care of my mom and got to know my mom very well. She knew just how to position my mom to make her comfortable. Whenever I am there and need help with mom and can't find the one assigned to my mom Silva never mind stepping in to assist me with her. She is an All-around team Player which would make taken care of the Patients at Carver a lot easier if all Had that attitude instead of it's not my patient attitude. Raquel CNA A+ top notch just like Silva the same care when it comes to my mom. Rico LPN and supervisor A+ always caring and about the patients. Jasmine Perkins Social Worker A+ caring and about the patient and family. There are others, but the above ones I have had personal interaction with them so I can speak on the care and treatment they have given me and my mom. Know too one have to be involved with their love one care too. Visit as often as possible and have a support system who can visit when you are not able to go. The One Star I gave 5 months ago I increase it to 4 stars based on the above interaction and the care this team display.

Experiencia fantástica: I just placed my mother at Carver last week and so far I'm very happy with the care they have given. She sat up in bed and actually ate some French fries which was a first in quite a while. I saw her today and she was up in a chair, dressed, and smelled nice. Everyone has been very helpful during this difficult transition period.

Experiencia fantástica: The staff and nurses are very courteous. The rooms are very neat and clean. I would recommend some type of sitting chair set or small recliners, so that non-bedridden residents don't have to sit on their bed during the day to watch TV. I'm happy with the level of care she has and is receiving.
