Experiencia fantástica: My husband was at Elizabeth Nursing and Rehab for almost two months. As someone who has worked in long term care for over 30 years I can say the staff went over and beyond to make the stay pleasant and productive. My husband’s mobility has improved to the point he can go home. Everyone including office staff, rehab, kitchen staff, nursing were warm and extremely helpful. We came to this rehab because it is the only kosher rehab in our area. The administrator spoke to us every time he saw us to make sure everything was going well. One thing I noticed was the staff was happy and friendly.

Experiencia fantástica: The Elizabeth Nursing and Rehabilitation center is exceptional! My Brother was there after his debilitating stroke for over 20 years. They were very informative, receptive, respectful and always willing and able to help me out with anything that I or my Brother needed. My Brother unfortunately passed recently and they were in constant contact with me up until the end. What you might need to know is that I lived out of state and I was kept up to date on Everything. I was able to visit but rarely due to financial constraints but wrote him constantly and they read to him and kept all of my communications to him. The day of his passing they called me and asked if I wanted to FaceTime with him. I did and he was barely responsive but when he heard my voice he raised his eyebrows and attempted to open his eyes. I was able to tell him n how much my daughter and I loved him. That was approximately 2pm and at about 10:45pm they called and informed me if his passing a few mins before! I was going to try and fly out that next week but they knew. This might be TMI to most but it’s truly therapeutic for me to express how much their care meant to me. So I want to thank the entire facility, Andrea the facility director and the First floor Nursing unit. God Bless you all!

Experiencia fantástica: I went to visit a longtime neighbor From the first moment I entered, I was met by smiling, friendly staff. Everywhere I looked, the place was clean and bright. My friend had his own room and was comfortably seated as we spoke for almost two hours. He was eating a beautiful meal and as staff walked by they greeted him. Experiencia negativa: I still remember the many lives that were so callously lost in this facility during covid including my grandmother's. The way it was handled was atrocious and I will never forget the actions and lack of actions on this facilities part to control infection. We were never properly notified of what was really going on in here. After my grandmother died they sent a manila envelope with a cheaply printed picture of my grandma and some half dead flowers left at our door. Never ever received a phone call till this day. Just another money making machine that receives state funding. The pain of my grandmother's loss is deep because we know she suffered during her last days here. This facility knew she was sick for a week and did not send her to the hospital until she was dying. I know times were tough but this was a failure on their part and they didn't have the decency to tell us what was really happening. To add insult to injury her death certificate stated her primary cause of death was Diabetes and second was COVID. All lies and deception. It was covid! This facility failed miserably to control the infection and this state helped to cover up the atrocity that occurred in many nursing homes and hospitals during covid. Please be careful with your loved one if they are in here.

Experiencia fantástica: My experience here in the rehabilitation section of the Elizabeth Nursing and Rehabilitation Center located at 1048 Grove St. in Elizabeth New Jersey has been nothing but ultra positive. I arrived here from a hospital where many of the nurses should not have the privilege of practicing this sacred profession. Thank G- d I have been treated here like gold. Every one of the nurses and staff is sweet and kind, gentle, compassionate, and patient. When the nurses are called, as busy as they are, they come as quickly as possible and do the utmost to accommodate and get anything needed within doctors orders. Every patient is daily fully bathed and given clean robes and linens and the three meals are healthy and balanced. The physical and occupational therapists are very kind and patient, and motivational at the same time. The facility is very clean, always smells so fresh and pleasant, and the floors are swept and mopped several times a day. The rooms are newly finished, bright, very pleasant and comfortable, equipped with a private bathroom, mirror, television, air conditioner, closet and night table. What more is needed? I am so grateful to have arrived here and I very highly recommend this place to anyone who is debating where to go to get back on their feet. Many blessings to all the wonderful administration and staff. These words are not exaggerated.

Experiencia negativa: Awful out of date, under staff. Bad smell they don’t have dated equipment to accommodate stroke patients. Uncomfortable tight 3-4 bed rooms that they don’t show you on tour and hard to work with finding somewhere to go to help your loved one find something. DON’T COME HERE

Experiencia negativa: I just recently worked here & had to walk out due to not having any linen to clean the residents. This place is horrible & dirty & I wouldn't recommend sending your loved ones here. I was told by a co-worker to clean the residents with a fitted sheet or hospital gown to basically use what we have available to get he job done. UNACCEPTABLE! These are human beings, someone's parents/grandparents I'm never gonna wash anyone's body with anything other then Wash cloth/towel or wipes! This facility never has the proper supplies so I had 5o remove myself. This place is DIRTY, & the staff is terrible. DO NOT SEND YOUR LOVED ONED HERE! They lost about 50 residents due to COVID-19 & should honestly be shut down. I have reported this establishment to the state because something needs to be done about this. Please check on your loved ones if they're at this facility ❤️

Experiencia positiva: My grandmother was placed here in February 2022 after falling. I must say that I am happy she is here. The staff are friendly, caring and attentive, at least those who take care of my grandmother. Front desk receptionist, Charito, always greets everyone with a smile and is very professional. Case Worker, Andrea Olguin has always handled any concerns we have immediately and efficiently. 2nd floor CNAs, Maria, Beatriz, and Jenny M. are amazing with my grandma. She’s always clean and well fed. My grandma gets excited when they interact with her and says how good they are to her. Jenny from activities is just the best. She’s so outgoing, funny, loving and loves interacting with the residents. All the residents respond positively to her. Nurses Iris, Naomi, and Sander are also so great and attentive. I can’t say enough about the staff, especially the caregivers on the 2nd floor. I sleep well at night knowing these are the people taking care of my 105 year old grandma. I thank God for all of them. The only reason I don’t give a 5 star is because the place is old. BUT many upgrades are in process and it’s looking pretty good.

Experiencia negativa: Just walk away.. better yet RUN. These positive reviews are over exaggerated. My mom thought this place would be nice considering the boosted positive reviews. This place is old. They put 3-4 people in a room together when there should only be 2 with the limited space. Employees with no gloves or mask. Food is horrible. No way someone is paying $350 and up a day to stay here even if temporary. Lastly, I was called by a nurse there to pick up my mother on thanksgiving day for the day. A time was arranged and then the morning of I’m told the “DOCTOR” didn’t sign off for her leave . She’s there voluntarily.

The nurses, aides and managament are all very patient and available to answer questions and the staff also speaks Spanish. My Mother got better and able to go home happy. In case she gets sick again, I will bring her back here!

Experiencia positiva: My mom, who has Alzheimer's, has been at this facility for almost 7 years now. My dad was there for 5 years before he passed in 2017. The place has made some changes in the last couple of years for the better. They changed management around and certain people within the facility who definitely communicate better with the family regarding any issues. The staff and nurses are very nice and have taken good care of my mom.

I am so delighted on how this nursing home handled the Covid-19 crisis, keeping my family members as well as others FULLY INFORMED & ensured that my mother & other residents are SAFE & happy! I want to give my heartfelt THANKS to all the staff, especially Rehab, Nursing & administration for answering my questions & providing dedicated support to me during this crisis. Tons of BLESSINGS FOR ALL ! July 30, 2019- My mother needed rehab again and as always our FIRST CHOICE is ELIZABETH NURSING & REHAB CENTER!!! We had other choices of Nursing Homes in the area which we declined. My mother considers Elizabeth as her 2nd home because of the EXCELLENT, Professional and humane treatment of all the staff ! Hoping that I ( the son ) will never need to be in a Nursing Home, but if Life dictates it, then Elizabeth Nursing & Rehab Center will be my 1st & ONLY CHOICE ! ********************************************* I am so glad that I brought my mother to Elizabeth Nursing and Rehab Center. The hospital recommended another Nursing Home but I chose Elizabeth Nursing because I was very satisfied how my mother was treated the 1st time at Elizabeth. My family is delighted to the staff who are professional, caring, compassionate and went over the call of duty to take care of my mother. The social worker, Norma, was very helpful with admissions and discharge planning. Thank you to every single one.

Experiencia negativa: It's been almost a year that my mom passed away after her stay at this place. The almost stellar record here is misleading. As with any place, you have the good and the bad. Let me first say that there were a few nurses and staff members that were just amazing. I can't say that I saw them do anything wrong while I was there. One of the staff members that worked there before, I witnessed her yelling at one of the residents on one occasion and she just had a rough demeanor about her. So, you can only imagine what some people are like when no one is around. In the defense of the facility, I made a complaint and they took swift action. Crazy thing was that when this person was disciplined, another aid that was a witness for me, ended up being blackballed by some of the staff and ended up quitting. She was one of the most compassionate women I have ever met. During a separate occasion, one of the head nurses was just very cold and seemed to have very little compassion. I just wanted her to have a better attitude and I complained about this. Nothing really came of that, as she had been there for many years. I can write a novel here, but not much point. Several times my mother was left without being changed and sitting in her unchanged diaper. At that point she couldn't talk and when I would visit, I would find her like that. She also complained about having a lot of pain in her arm, but wasn't sent for an x-ray until about a week later. They found that she had a fracture. It was just very bad. On the other hand, there were some very good people that worked there. At this point, there is one that I remember her name, who worked for physical therapy. Her name was Karina. She was really something else. It is a shame that a few bad apples. Also, this place is very old and the beds, wheelchairs and everything else are outdated. The wheelchair that my mom used, I've never seen one like that. It looked like it was from the 1920s or something. Fortunately, my mother never really liked anything fancy, but they really do need better equipment. Not to count the owner's money, but I'm sure they make enough in the facility to be able to afford a makeover and better equipment. I did an evaluation of other residents that were in there. They had some horror stories. One lady was telling me of how they mistreated her husband. They were understaffed for lunch and dinner a few times, so I actually helped to feed one of the residents several times. I felt so bad for her. She couldn't hardly move her hands shook very bad. Then, there was another one that I would see crying and getting frustrated a couple of tables away. That was actually the one who the aid was rude to and I made the complaint. I knew how to feed in small portions, from feeding my mother. Funny thing is that one of the aids would give full portions just to get it over with. So, I was actually being more careful than they were. As I'm writing this, I'm starting to remember a lot of things. However, let me just end here. Don't ever go by just looking at reviews. Go in and see the place. Interview people that are there or their family members. I'm not saying that it is a bad place, but it does have room for improvement. I'm sure not much has changed in one year.

Experiencia positiva: Today was the first day my mom Ruby walked with the walker. I shed a tear iof joy. I’ve witnessed several stages she’s gone through while in rehab. I’m excited for her progress and her determination to get better. I’m her biggest cheerleader and with lots of encouraging words she’s been able to do well. There are so many things that the entire rehab staff do from the kind soft way they speak, to knowing and calling everyone by their name with big smiles on their faces. The key factor that I’ve seen is the incentive they had given my mom.. It’s the COFFEE. Some people may object but it is what works for my mom. It’s the coffee and their true care for recovery. I believe when my mom leaves the facility she will be on the move. I’m hopeful. Thank you everyone in advance. Keep up the amazing work you all are doing and keep the COFFEE, what a great incentive.

Experiencia fantástica: My father at 84 years old fell ill with delirium , dementia and a subdural hematoma . We lost my mother on November 2nd and I am sure that significantly impacted my father’s health. I was very worried and stressed. Maria the activities director gave me a tour. My gut instincts were guiding me to bring my dad here ... when I saw Emily (my former student) that sealed the deal. He was admitted here on February 26th. He has received top notch care from the PT, OT , speech, nurses, CNA’s and activities crew. The staff here makes sure that the elderly patients eat well so they can have the strength to do PT etc. How do I know this ?? I come here at all different times and I see them help them. I highly recommend Elizabeth nursing and rehabilitation center. Barbara the admissions director will guide you about Medicare costs etc. She is very helpful. I would like to extend a special thank you and “ shout out” to the following : Norma the social worker , Emily , Stephanie , Luz, Christina , Beatrice , Ruth , Elsa, KP, Iman etc. I apologize if I left names out but I don’t remember everyone’s name. A special thank you to the nurses who I would hound with daily questions such as : “ How did my father sleep?” “ Did he take all his medications” , “ how much breakfast did he eat ?” Etc etc. As an only child , I am the advocate for my father period. I never once felt that the staff was annoyed by my questions. Thank you all so much , Lourdes Scalzo.

From the administration to the nurses to the therapists to the kitchen crew to the maintenance, our experience was truly top notch, warm, and next best to being home. Thank you so much! Fast forward a few months. Because of the exemplary care that ENRC showed my mother, my family chose to bring my father here for rehabilitation these past few months. The care and concern shown by the entire staff was quite remarkable. The administration, Gilda the director of nursing and May her assistant assured that my father had every accommodation. The kitchen staff led by Mr. Colin Pert aimed to please and to accommodate my father's taste. Not a simple task, but they did a great job. The physical therapy team worked diligently and with such nice attitude to return my father to his previous capabilities. The nurses and nurses aids were all very attentive and truly and sincerely cared. They went above and beyond to make sure my father had all his needs met. I'd like to mention all of them, including Preetypaul Rawatti, Zuzana Bracok, Sandys Johnson, Ivelisse Hernandez, Ese Asabor, Valerie, and all the nurses and aids. Maria Ramirez and her staff are so creative and kind, anticipating one's needs before even relaying them. The special events - especially the petting zoo were so enjoyable. Even the maintenance crew made it their business to check in and offer a nice word. For rehab and nursing care, I highly recommend ENRC and its wonderful staff.

The treatment that I received from the nurses, therapists and management is wonderful and this is the place to stay when you want to get better and return to the community. Experiencia fantástica: Me e sentido muy bien con el lugar. No tengo quejas de nada. Todos del departamento de enfermería, las de actividades, los terapistas y todo el personal muy excelente. Hasta me fue muy bien con los compañeros. Tengo planeado irme para Colombia pero si no me sale volveré a este lugar.

Experiencia positiva: My mother Patricia Ernest stayed here and she was able to have a great experience. She was not able to walk upon entering the center, but she came out stronger then ever, being able to walk and being able to function in the outside like the surgery had never happened. We her children are very grateful for the care of Elizabeth nursing and rehab center.

Experiencia fantástica: My father continues to receive great care from all the staff especially Esperanza and Rosita (CNA’s) who have been very caring and patient in feeding my father. The doctors, nurses, rehab therapists and administration are all involved and helpful in making my father and my family go through this process. He came from the hospital not eating and weak, but now he is better at Elizabeth.

Experiencia positiva: Elizabeth Nursing home has provided a home away from home atmosphere for my husband. He has made good friends and adapted to the friendly environment. The staff are friendly and helpful. The administration is very supportive as they processed all transitions for medical, financial, transportation, etc., and continues to assure that all his needs are met. I am his wife, and I am a teacher.

Experiencia fantástica: My healing time @ Elizabeth Nursing Home was such an absolutely wonderful experience! The whole staff were a pleasure to work with & made my time here so comfortable that i actually don't even want to go home. Experiencia fantástica: My mother had an amazing experience. Nursing department and physical therapy staff were amazing and very caring. Especially Vanessa Stempniewicz (RN), Asabor Ojo "Essy". The compassion and care they had for my mother was just fantastic. Also the Activity department did a extraordinary job with my mother nails. Upon admission, the staff took care of her needs right away, was seen by the Speech therapist, food was superb, the nurses are so caring and compassionate, the nurses aides were very attentive and gave her a bath and donned on clean clothes on admission, as she had a long stay in the hospital.. after her ,
