I was fortunate to have found this practice that was recommended to me by an INova xray tech. I had a car accident and fractured C2 and had to wear a neck brace for 12 weeks. When I was able to take my brace off I was told I didn’t need PT. They were wrong I was unable to move my head from side to side . After PT what a difference I was better than I have been before my accident. I highly recommend his services to whoever needs PT Thank you again They truly bring Sunshine back in your life.

I was VERY skeptical about physical therapy being beneficial to me, that prior to my first physical appointment- I went to get an MRI scan and saw a Orthopedic. Dr.Fifi was able to identify other issues in my back that my mri nor orthopedic could find. Every week my shoulder has been getting better and better. Choosing Sunshine Physical Therapy has been the best choice I made for my back. Without hesitation, he’s my first go to for recommendation.

Having longest-term and time by time returning spine issues I have been coming back to this place and getting each time good treatment which helps each time! Because doctor Afifi, besides full human empathy, provides very convenient and fast treatment scheduling for patients with clear understanding their physical condition because the most of them are in real strong pain and need to get that treatment as sooner possible. The doctor tries to keep patients fully aware what, why and when he does use to help. The office's orientation is to provide complex physical therapy treatment. Experiencia fantástica: Dr Afify is very intelligent with very skilled hands, he knows how to find the problem and he knows how to solve it successfully. After my first visit he solved 50% of my shoulder problems. I strongly recommend Dr Afify to anybody who needs physical therapy.

Experiencia fantástica: I thought I had already reviewed Dr. Affifi on Google but had not. I guess I only did Yelp and Angies List Health. I had arthroscopic surgery on my rotator cuff back in Jan 2016. Had a Great Inova surgeon so I tried scheduling my follow up physical therapy w/ Inova. They were horrible. I am trying to schedule and they were giving me different PTs, back to back sessions (not recommended) on some weeks, spaced out in others, very inconsistent. Saturday my wife suggested I look around and I found Sunshine Physical Therapy very close to my house in Kingstowne and boy am I glad I did . Dr. Affifi is the owner of the practice and the ONLY one who does your PT. He is EXCELLENT at his job and provides device with a very caring & gentle nature. Great guy to talk with & he always explains exactly what he's doing for you. Also his front desk person m, Robin, is Awesome. If you have ANY physical therapy, I highly recommend his practice. Do go anywhere else, RUN (if you can) to Dr. Afifi at Sunshine Physical Therapy.

Experiencia fantástica: I have been a patient of Dr. Afifi’s for a few years. I’ve also been to multiple PTs for a number of sports injuries. Only a couple offices did I feel catered to and do the PTs really take their time. Sunshine Physical Therapy is definitely one. I never feel rushed and always got home knowing what Dr. Afifi expects of me. This doctor has magic hands! I don’t even need to explain the injury or pain as much, he just knows. When Dr. Afifi had helped me with my back/hip (disappointing to be a problem for my age) I felt an INSTANT relief before even walking out the office. I always underestimate how posture and “boring exercises” effect my quality of life The only downside is that I never go as often.

Experiencia fantástica: Even though I finished my therapy with Dr Afifi earlier this year, I'm still enjoying the benefits of those sessions. I've had chronic lower back pain for many years, and was recently diagnosed with a herniated disc. Dr Afifi mixed relief therapy along with stretching and strength building. As long as you stick to his homework assignments then your chances of recovery are good. Even though I kept bringing up the idea of surgery, he discouraged it and insisted that I give my body time to heal. Months later I'm more active than I've been in a long time, I can comfortably run and do weight training. I occasionally get some pain but not like before, and I still do the stretches he taught me. I'm grateful for his concern for my well being, and his insisting that I give my body the time it needs to naturally heal. I wish him the best. JAK

Experiencia fantástica: Dr. Afifi has been working with me for over 4 years. I first went to him after my upper right arm bone fusion surgery and I regained my strength back within 3 o 4 months. I recently had a tear in my right rotator cuff and after intense therapy, I am back to 100%. Right now, he is treating me for lower back pain and I am already getting better, In fact, I played golf this whole November without feeling the pain. Dr. Afifi is a very caring physical therapist. He is on time and doesn't make you wait. He is knowledgeable about his profession and makes sure that he gets his patients issues resolved. He is on of the best physical therapists from my perspective.

Dr. Afifi has helped me to turn back the clock on all of that! He has a great bedside manner and actually listens to his patuents. Driving was difficult as well as completing normal everyday tasks. Now I can drive without the fear of pain and take care of myself like a normal woman should. I highly recommend this PT. His admin assisstant/nursing asst is caring, kind, and the best there is.

Experiencia negativa: Our Physical Therapist was great. He worked well with our daughter and was understanding. We appreciated his efforts, and until the end we were fond of this place. However, when our PT suggested that our daughter be seen and continue treatment with a female PT and suggested that our daughter may respond better..."Sunshine" decide to just end her PT all together...because it is "their practice when a patient becomes resistant to working through the PT that they end the sessions". My daughter has terminal brain cancer. She is 6. She had just gotten back out of the hospital after having been sent in for another 7 day stint because the tumor hemorrhaged. The hospital informed us that she may have even more significant weakness now because of the blood in the brain stem and her body having to work it out. However, my daughter continued to try her best. She walked outside, around her floor, she did whatever she was asked. Though sometimes complaining that it hurt, and sometimes complaining that she did not like her PT holding her under her arms, but she still worked with him. It was to our surprise when the PT suggested he'd recommend a female PTs...it was never discussed with us. But further, it was our surprise when after 10 days, and our contact to Sunshine, that we finally were told that they just didn't intend to send anyone back to work with our daughter. Not that they had heard from her PT that he suggested a female, but rather, that she just didn't deserve the treatment at all.....Mind you again, she is 6. And she is battling terminal brain cancer. The fact that she asked when PT was on a daily bases trying to plan her naps and eating and potty break surrounding when "Mr. Jim" would be here, says a lot. The fact that we spent a week doing the PT ourselves so she should continue trying to get stronger while we waited for Sunshine to send in a female PT's says a lot. The fact that she would show off to everyone how strong she had gotten and how she wanted to show off that she could stand and that she could take steps and kind of walk on her own, was something. Instead, Sunshine decided that she was "resistant" to the physical therapy, and they just chose not to inform us, and chose to just stop doing the therapy all together. Nothing like professionalism and having conversations with both her physicians, her insurance and her parents to let us know what the decision was. Or let alone having the empathy to work with and understand what my daughter was dealing with and going through. Again, nothing against her PT's. He was amazing. More everything against this practice. I'd suggest finding a different place to do PT at personally.

They were able to fit me in almost immediately for a new patient evaluation and from there I was able to be added to their weekly rotation of patients. I have had nothing but great experiences here. Robin is very personable, she remembers just about every patient's name that comes through the door and always greets you with a smile. Dr. Afifi is great as well! He takes his time in finding out what problems, pains or issues you have and every visit monitors your progress. Unlike most PT places you may see a multitude of physicians and it almost seems like every visit you start from scratch, but that is not the case here. I would highly recommend this place to anyone and will use Sunshine for my first option if physical therapy is needed ever again.

Ya han pasado 3 meses desde mi accidente y gracias a su terapia me he recuperado bastante. Llegue usando muletas y una bota ortopedica, al dia de hoy ya puedo caminar sin necesidad de un apoyo. Dr Bahaa Afifi, owner of Sunshine Physical Therapy, personally treats all his patients and does so with the highest professional standards. Robin, the office manager, is awesome. She is friendly, fosters a warm and welcoming environment, and works diligently to maintain flexibility in scheduling to enable top-quality, personalized care for each patient. Dr. Afifi and Robin are an amazing team working hard to provide the best possible physical therapy care solutions and even keep the office open late two days a week to accommodate patients who work. As a retired female military combat veteran, with several VA-rated injuries, I needed to find care outside the VA when there were no available appointments at the DC VA Hospital. Fortunately, the VA referred me to non-VA care for treatment at Sunshine Physical Therapy, which is close to my home. Dr Afifi is a miracle worker. He has provided outstanding non-invasive treatment (laser, ultrasound, heat therapy, and exercise) for my injuries over the last several years with marked decrease in pain, and increase in strength. Dr Afifi personally treats every patient and has treated chronic pain in my shoulders, neck, back and plantar fasciitis in both heels. Strongly recommend this office for care. Sunshine Physical Therapy provides the absolute best treatment to civilians, active military, and veterans, and accepts all medical insurance to include military TRICARE and Veterans Affairs.
