Experiencia negativa: Please read all in order to avoid a nightmare physical therapy experience. There is a disturbingly high level of incompetence here, and that is probably why they have such high turnover in physical therapists- there's been a revolving door of secondary therapists, literally 5 in less than a year. I have been coming here to rehab a torn calf, and secondly, to rehab a lower back issue since last may. This was my prescription then, and it is still what my doctor intends me to rehab now. They claimed the other day that "my calf was discharged months ago" and that I'm only here for "my back". This was told to me by the most incompetent of physical therapists I've met yet, Esteban, and apparently Noreen has been "doing my calf as a favor undocumented". I came today to address that and was met with frustration at my frustration and Noreen admitted she has ben doing these interventions without documenting, and discharged my calf WITHOUT telling me months ago. She claims this is because I got an updated prescription relating to my back. I got a new prescription for my back specifically sent in, as asked for by her, to get a tens machine authorized by insurance, so I didn't realize they needed an entirely new prescription for both ailments, which i could have easily provided at any point had they asked for it. It is obviously still in need of rehab, which my doctor himself today confirmed and expressed surprise and dismay that pt said they weren't technically treating it. Instead they continued "treating" my calf without documenting it and technically closing it as a success despite the majority of my workouts centering around calf work and the need to build my calf back to strength to consistently run, jump, and make sharp turns. To be coming to a place for a year to rehab a torn calf, with prescription, only to be told they only have my back on file for the last few months, is not just unacceptable, but a severe lack in fidelity and competence that should be expected of a physical therapist. This place should be investigated if by their own admission they're graduating cases as succeful that are clearly not, and performing work they are not documenting, to continue the work that was supposedly "successful". How disturbing is that?! They are unprofessional on many levels. Of course my therapy should be documented. Of course if you need an updated prescription for my calf it should be communicated and obtained. Of course if you're going to "close my case" for my calf I should not only be aware but on board with it. Of course they should have my paperwork on file. Their lack of communication, professionalism, duty, and overall competence in providing physical therapy services is unmatched and extremely detrimental to my recovery. They have failed me as a physical therapist and a practice. The best part is that when I express my sincere concern over this level of incompetence, it is met with disdain and dismissiveness, not care and proper communication to try and resolve. Avoid this place at all costs. They not only won't solve what you're there for, but they'll say they did on paper, wont tell you, and then they'll continue treating it anyway without documenting it. That doesn't smell fishy at all, does it? Again, this level of incompetence is truly unmatched, perhaps only by their lack of professionalism. Shame on you Noreen. Shame on you Select physical therapy. Ive never heard of anything like this before and will be submitting official complaints both to the company and to the proper investigatory channels. This whole experience is unacceptable and I am rightfully disturbed by it. Shameful!

Experiencia fantástica: Dr. Noreen O'Kane is an excellent PT. She has performed dry needling and cupping to treat the tendons in my foot and calf for the chronic foot pain I have been experiencing. In just a few appointments, she has given me valuable information to help my foot heal and what daily stretches I can do before and after my workouts. I am gaining a tremendous amount of knowledge that I hope to use to remain active for many years!

She spent considerable time assessing the problem and I feel confident I will be able to heal soon implementing those recommendations. Experiencia fantástica: There are several Select Physical Therapy locations in the Washington DC metro area. The one I go to is conveniently located in Alexandria VA. I've found the staff at this facility very accommodating with the scheduling and caring. I am also extremely impressed with the level of knowledge of the therapists who exemplify superb expertise.

Experiencia negativa: I didn't even make it into the office, after 2 calls with their rude and unhelpful receptionist. Her attitude right off the bat was less than pleasant, and when I called back to figure out what was going on with my insurance, she said she couldn't help me and there is no one else I can speak with. Canceled my appointment and she lost this business a potential client because of their rude customer service.

Experiencia fantástica: I don't write reviews often - who has the time?! I learned a month ago that I have micro-tears in my tendons and one is fractured. After many months of pain and finally reaching a clarifying diagnosis, the podiatrist suggested physical therapy. I was very resistant and explained to her that I've had it up to here with that "racket "of multiple appointments a week and never solving the problem or the pain. Over the years, I've been for cervical, knee, wrist and IT band pain/injury. However, she assured me that Select PT would not be the same and if I followed the program, I would see relief. I've been thrilled with my treatment plan - I'm challenged at the appointments and between with increasingly more movement decided to increase my strength and to allow me to get back to a normal range of motion. My therapist really listens to me and presents me with solutions. I'm not angling to be prescribed PT any time soon after this injury but I will definitely come back to Select PT in the future if needed.

Lindsey ran the appropriate diagnostic tests, then created and executed an excellent therapy regime. Facilitated by her therapy plan and encouragement, I've seen significant improvement. Experiencia fantástica: Regina and Noreen are the best. They truly care about their patients and are just the nicest, most accommodating PT practice I've been to - and I've been to several! In one single visit Noreen was asking patients if they wanted water and offered room temperature or cold; Regina helped a patient with mobility issues downstairs to his ride when his companion needed to lie down in the car. They're not even trying hard - they just care. So thankful I chose them.
