Experiencia negativa: My boyfriend has been complaining about his bed being broken and they changed the remote. Now the bed is totally broke and they said he has to wait until Monday to get something done. If he falls out of that bed!

Experiencia fantástica: My 88 year old Mother was sent to South Hills Rehab, after falling and breaking a hip, see spent quite a while on the rehab floor, where it was decided, that her returning to her previous residence would not be possible. She was then moved upstairs to the residential floor, where she stayed for several months, the staff on both floors were always very attentive to her needs, they were friendly and understanding of the stresses involved in an elderly individual going through so many changes at once. We visited on numerous occasions and the staff was always friendly and courteous, to us and our mom, the only reason we moved her out of there was due to the fact it was over 100 miles one way for any of us to visit, so she was moved to a facility closer to our homes. I want to thank all the staff on both floors for being such an awesome care team. You guys/girls are the best. I would recommend South Hills rehab highly, to anyone.

Experiencia fantástica: Yes I have been a patient at South hills since May 25th had my big toe amputated on a 6-week antibiotic IV regimen and they were amazing the nurses are fun nice they go out of their way for you never complained about my being a pain in the butt I would recommend this place to everybody

Experiencia fantástica: I have been at the facility everyday for the past three months hoping my mother will get well enough to go home soon. My experience has been amazing-everyday!! The LPN’s, CNA’s PT’s, OT’s, house keeping and regular staff have been nothing but caring and professional. Folks this is a very difficult profession, but everyone I’ve crossed paths with has shown they care deeply about their roles snd every residents wellbeing. Each staff member takes the time to explain the why’s and the why not’s whenever I’ve had questions or concerns. I wish I could name you all-but it would not be fair because I’m not able to be there 24/7. I can say however, another family member also spends a lot of time in the facility and feels exactly the way I do. Please know, we appreciate each and everyone for their hard work and dedication each and every day. Nothing but respect!!

Experiencia positiva: I am currently a patient here. The CNAs are wonderful and very helpful. I had a Huge back surgery and the therapist have been wonderful as well. I have been here for 7 days I think now and I had a dr appointment that took 5 hours because the facility had the wrong time. 5 hours in a wheel chair is a very long time when I came back my lunch2 was very cold and I didn't like the meatloaf when I asked for something else well the kitchen was closed. So when it was dinner time again I didn't like what was served so I asked 4 different cnas for a chef salad and they left and never came back. So therefore I missed lunch and dinner yesterday. I did get a sandwich from nurses fridge but I still thought I deserved to have a meal. Not really sure what happened there but over all I have received great care I at times have trouble with my pain meds. I will ask for them and it will take an hour or more to finally recieve them. But I wanna thank you for all my care. I know it can be alot and I thank you with all my heart for my care.

Experiencia fantástica: I don’t understand the negative reviews because my experience was the complete opposite The staff are very attentive and caring. The food is exceptional for an institutional setting. The building is clean and there is a space to go outside and enjoy the sun and trees. My walking improved after spinal surgery with the help of the excellent therapy I received. I would highly recommend South Hills Rehab to anyone looking for a skilled nursing facility.

Experiencia negativa: This place is a joke. Not one administrative employee has called me, not one nurse or PT therapist has called me or a Social worker has called me since my mom was transferred to this place. No one can answer any questions about my mom when I go to see her. They did not feed her dinner two nights ago. They are not getting her out of bed for PT . If you have loved ones considered to go to this place I don't recommend it at all.

Experiencia negativa: They didn't shower my mother in over 10 days. She's a vegetarian yet they brought her a plate full of meat and then says they were going to get " aggressive " if she didn't eat enough then stopped bringing her food all together. They brought in another patient's medications and luckily we had a family member there that caught that that wasn't the correct name before she ingested them. They brought in a bedside commode covered in fecal matter from another patient's room. Not to mention how they roughed her up to get out of bed because she just had hip surgery and can't walk yet but they were impatient. Also they don't care that she can't hear without hearing devices but didn't turn the hearing device on to communicate with her so she had no idea what they were saying but they were getting mad. There's so many more reasons that I would never leave my loved one in this facility if you want them to survive.

Experiencia negativa: I'm currently having a terrible experience with this place. My grandmother complained that the meat was too tough to chew so they are now blending ALL OF HER MEALS. We have asked them to stop several times and they refuse. Our family members are now bringing food to my grandmother in this facility. They are also not changing her regularly (incontinence) or getting her out of bed even once a day for physical therapy. If I had the power to pull her from their care I would immediately. She was in the hospital for a week before ending up here and in the hospital she was EATING SOLID FOOD AND WALKING.

Experiencia negativa: Nothing good about this place! If you want your loved one to get better and/or make any progress at all DO NOT PUT THEM HERE! They aren’t genuine and they don’t follow charts or guidelines. The place smells like urine as soon as you walk in. They don’t bathe their patients, they use dirty bed pans and the food is horrible. We had a very bad experience! Also half of these reviews are from the employees that work there not from the patients themselves receiving the horrible care!!

Experiencia fantástica: I am excited to share that new management has turn South Hills into a great place to work. I am the scheduler for caregiving staff here. The culture has change to be one where everyone is working together to make this a great place to be. I am proud of the changes that have occurred here over the last couple of months and am looking forward to the new faces that are coming onboard with us soon. The new management and I are working to make this a place of life balance, respect for each other and the residents while throwing fun into the mix. Our residents are our primary focus and happier staff to ensure that they are taken care of better. I enjoy coming to work, walking the halls and getting to see them every day

Experiencia positiva: South Hills was very respectful an took very good care of my grandmother as she was healing the only thing missing was thier smiling faces but you could hear in their voice that they were smiling an see it in their eye's. Experiencia fantástica: Mother was a guest at Avalon Care Center in North Spokane for about 6 weeks this spring. She'd broken her hip and needed to recover and rehab. I was there every other day all that time and can say from personal experience that the staff, (from the front desk to the nursing staff who attended her, the day-to-day care from the nurse assistants, the social workers, the therapists, the lady who brought around the Bible verses and others I know I failed to mention) were all very kind and caring. Her needs were met promptly and everyone was very professional and quick to help. I am very grateful for the care she received at Avalon! Thank you.

Experiencia fantástica: South Hills is an amazing facility. Located in the beautiful South Hills of Eugene, Oregon. From the moment you walk through the door, you are greeted by kindness and smiling faces. The staff are all friendly from the beginning, the food options are great, and the facility is kept nicely clean by the wonderful housekeeping staff.

Experiencia negativa: This place is very bad. My husband was incoherent and dazed most of the time.. He went to the hospital from there and within 2 days of being out of South Hills he was coherent, asking questions, and very clear headed. My brother was also there for hospice and we get a call saying he was unresponsove . We asked them to call 911, and he was transferred to Corvallis where he died 2 days later. We were told he had dangerously high levels of drugs in his system. Those could have only been administered by the facility.

Experiencia positiva: For the most part my stay was good, Ashley the Nurse on Days was good, Deven and Brittney on eve's were awesome these 3 were very caring nurses and it showed, Angela, Tyler and Jenni all CNA's were great they always answered my call light promptly and was very nice and caring when they assisted me. Sharon and Charlene in activities are awesome with the residents and all that they do for them. I feel these people deserve some much needed props for a job well done.

Experiencia positiva: Sometimes it's frustrating when they end up short handed. It makes it difficult for the CNA's to answer a resident's call-light as quickly as they would like to. Plus, it makes it very difficult for the CNA's to spend enough time with the residents who need more help than others. Also, it seems like the nurses could use more help too, because they are always rushing around looking (and sounding) like they could use more help.

Experiencia negativa: One of the nurses threw a half lit cigarette onto the street as I drove by. Told him to pick his litter up and he just smiled and waved. Would you want your loved ones to be cared for by someone who cant even take care of their own litter?

Experiencia negativa: My father is currently there. I just left (I live out of state) hoping he was in good caring hands. He just had a part of his colon removed. He has a catheter. He needs assistant to the bathroom. After waiting 30+ minutes. His untrained wife had to assist him. What would of happened if she wasn't there? Last night, he was uncomfortable, cold and feeling like he could not breathe (anxiety?). After waiting more that 30 minutes an aid came and just said oh that's to bad you feeling anxious. Offering no comfort or solution. I am disappointed I may be going back or getting a camera

Experiencia fantástica: My grandfather in law stayed here after hip surgery. The facility was always very clean and staff was always very friendly and attentive. Thank you South Hills, for providing top notch quality care to my grandfather in law.

Experiencia negativa: My mom was in there to recover from surgery, she didn't get the care she should have. They are always short of staff and do not use up to date instruments to check vitals. My mom became septic and died two days later. Never go there!
Experiencia negativa: Absolutely the worst nursing home I have ever stepped foot in! My mother was there to recover from surgery and was supposed to receive rehabilitation. Never received the rehab, but she did however receive poor care and abuse and was talked down to by the nursing staff, given the wrong food (she is diabetic) and when she actually did get her food it was ice cold and told that it had been put into another residence room on a different floor and they had to go get it. Umm, why are you giving someone a food tray that was in another residents room? That’s cross contamination! Can’t do that! I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone! Horrible place.
