Experiencia negativa: My mother is currently at Encompass. She arrived Thursday. First day was great. Saturday she was altered and the nurse was helpful and compassionate. Sunday I tried to call several times and finally got the head nurse who told me it was normal for an older person to be altered and confused in a new place. Then proceeded to tell me not to bother the nurses because they are too busy. It is not normal for her to be congruent and talking to her dead mother. It is now Monday night and neither my brother or I have been able to get ahold of anyone. I have not been able to get either her or her nurse in over 24 hours. I live 18 hours away and my brother 3. My brother will be driving over tomorrow to get her out. Don't send your lived one there unless you live close and can personally check on them daily!!!!

Experiencia negativa: I Just picked up my uncle Tuesday where he was supposed to be discharged and had his appointment set up for dialysis and davita Dialysis said they had no appointment for him, that he wasn't discharged from rehabilitation, luckily they did his dialysis from the rehabilitation paper. But this place said he was able to walk without assistance and that is a lie. If you care about your family avoid taking them to encompass. I wouldn't take an enemy to this place.

Experiencia fantástica: This place is great if you want to get back on your feet quickly. The PT and OT staff are 1st rate, especially Adam and Michelle. They will work you as hard as you want and encourage you to surpass what you think you can accomplish. The nursing staff is friendly and very attentive. Your call light will be answered within 5 min. Last but not least, the food is good and you can order other selections if not satisfied with the standard menu

Experiencia positiva: I had no experience with a live-in rehab. Coming from a 2 week stay in hospital after a stroke. Encompass was the perfect fit for what I needed. Generally caring aids and nursing who were patient and tried to meet my request. Holly my PT was caring, patient and aware of how to challenge me to my best and stretch beyond what could see me doing. And would not have been able to do without her guidance and encouragement. Food choices was the one area that needs some tweaking. Often out of my room in PT when someone came around seldom allowed me to give my preference. Still they gave me healthy meals and mostly tasty. Thanking God for placing me in the right place for my needs❗

Experiencia negativa: It is an experience I hope I never have to go through again. The only focus was on the rehab from my foot surgery. Kidney failure and congestive heart failure both of which were taking place were not a priority. Thank God my wife was able to advocate for me during my stay. Some of the staff was very curious and knowledgeable but I lack appreciation for the night shift person who when cleaning up a bm accident decided the best course to take was to leave the badly soiled linens and my clothing stuffed at the foot of my bed. It stayed there until my wife came in and cleaned it up! We were told my diet was a heart healthy diet, again my wife to the rescue! She was told when she asked for "fresh" fruits and vegetables that she could bring them to me. So much of my care was obviously ridiculous! I would be told one thing about what my day was going to hold and then another would happen. This was a daily happening, I finally stopped believing much of what I was told. Pushing the call button was a joke, no one bothered to answer it. I finally just called out to anyone coming down the hall. I gave 2 stars in honor of some employee's that seemed to really try to do right by the patients.

Experiencia negativa: I wouldn't send a loved one there. They let my mother leave without proper perscriptions. When made aware of it, it took 6hrs to call them in. This was heart medication. Scripts she isn't supposed to miss. Not happy with Encompass at all.

Experiencia fantástica: Encompass worked really hard to help us get my mom into rehab at Encompass. We had a good experience with my dad previously, so after a few attempts at getting Mom the right therapy after a stroke, we really wanted Encompass. She was there for about 12 days and made an immense amount of progress.

Experiencia fantástica: We stopped by to see an old friend who was a patient. We were immediately impressed by the cleanliness of the facility. As the day progressed, we grew even more impressed by the kindness and wonderful attitude of everyone we even briefly ran into. We were fortunate to meet the CEO (which we did not even realize at the time). He was very personable and down to earth and sincerely adamant about good patient care. I would highly recommend.

Experiencia positiva: My aunt was there for rehab, for two weeks, after a fall but no fractures. EVERYONE SEEMED VERY NICE WHILE WE WERE THERE WITH HER. KUDOS TO THE HOUSEKEEPING STAFF. IT’S IMMACULATE. THE THERAPIST AND THERAPY AREAS ARE SUPERB. THE NURSES AND AIDES WERE PERSONABLE AND KNOWLEDGEABLE. HER PRIMARY DR WAS WONDERFUL. I did have an issue with a mixup on medication, due to miscommunication with her records through deaconess. It also concerns me, that I wasn’t informed of her weakened state. Five days earlier, she miraculously walked over five hundred ft unassisted with her walker. I suppose with the holiday weekend, she wasn’t able to exercise as much. When I brought her home, she was miserable from a rash due to wet underclothing. For two weeks she couldn’t get out of bed by herself due to the pain. Apparently she wasn’t able to have anyone available to help her get there in time. Now she’s confused and in pain from a completely separate issue. I’ll take her to a dr asap if the confusion persists. Hopefully not a UTI. Upon discharge, the written Dr’s recommendations are to assist her to the bathroom every 2-3 hrs, use barrier cream and keep dry. So, evidently, he was aware of her issue. She also had a heart shaped bandage on her tailbone, with no explanation why. I’m very disappointed in the management. I understand at shift change it becomes a forty-five minute lapse in the norm for access to aides. Hopefully this can be resolved in the near future. This is a state of the art facility. The “powers that be” are the ones who do not hire enough employees to give the patients the care they deserve. If your loved one goes there. Please keep a very close eye on their personal care. This could have been avoided.

Experiencia fantástica: The staff here were awesome I only picked up a passenger there who had one leg and they helped her into my truck with an electric lift machine. I was shocked . There was one that was so cute idk her name I think it was Anna.
Experiencia positiva: The nurses and techs were all nice, helpful and respectful. They talked to me not at me when they came in my room. Case manager Elizabeth was very helpful. I especially want to thank Chelsea from OT. And Emily from PT. They were very good. They never gave up on me. And most importantly they wouldn't let me give up on getting better.

Experiencia fantástica: I recently had open heart surgery.I was referred to Deaconess Encompass health for inpatient rehabilitation.I just wanted to thank everyone who took care of me during my stay.From the staff,doctors,nurses ,techs,social workers and therapist .This place is top notch.I was really surprised at the level of care I was given. Everyone was so caring and very professional.If I needed anything they took care of it.I would definitely recommend them. Thank you again

Experiencia negativa: My grandmother went here for rehab. She was trying to take a nap one day in between PT sessions and a lady named Liz told her she couldn't take a nap, slammed a chair against the wall, and snapped a hospital gown in her face. Never take your loved one to this facility.

Experiencia negativa: My dad was there and he couldn’t wait to get out of there. There was no privacy as in they couldn’t shut their doors. The case manager said that he wasn’t going to his doctor appointment because they didn’t transfer people during COVID. He got to his doctors appointment because my mom took him and his stuff out the door! The night tech was screaming up and down the hall and telling the patients to get back in their beds. It is an all around bad place. If you want a “glorified nursing home” you got one right here.

Experiencia negativa: This Facility was horrible. I reccomend that if you have a loved one there that you stay 24/7.
Experiencia negativa: Poor care from nursing to CNA's to therapy. Very disappointing. My family was there for a week & still no shower, CNA's kept saying therapy should do it & therapy said no. (CNA's should always be doing the shower). Nsg messed up meds more time than we could count & would have had terrible repercussions if we weren't there to ask (attempting to provide BP meds without taking BP first, not following the schedule for pain meds, you name it). Then therapy, sits pts in a group & calls that therapy & treats each pt back to back therapies without a break between therapy. Poor management overall with profound lack of compassion. This shiny new building isn't going to help if they can't improve the care.

Experiencia negativa: Patient fell. Hit their head so hard they coded. Dr wanted to wait till next morning for radiology. Emphasis on vitals over patient care. One woman was left in her soured linens while everyone did paperwork. My wife had to go out of her way and out of her area to take care of this person.
Experiencia fantástica: Had a awesome stay here! The nurses and aids were so helpful and nice. The therapist I had were Julie for PT and Diana for OT and they were both incredible and all around just good people. My case manager was Tiffany and she too was great. Dr. Cull did an amazing job at making sure my pain was tolerable and checking up daily on me. All around the best experience I could have had given my situation. I guess if I was being petty I could say the food for the most part was not good but that’s to be expected at a medical facility. Thank you guys for all you do for people and how comfortable you made me feel being there, I will definitely make a return visit once I heal up to see everyone and let them know how far I’ve made it and how much I appreciate them.

Experiencia negativa: This place has great equipment but staff are very unprofessional and horrible sticking people with needles and not cleaning their skin before they inject needles our visit has been nothing but discrimination and name callings from the staff i wouldn't advise my worst enemy to go here spoke to the director anita about alot of things happening in this horrible place and she bascily told me she doesn't care this place should be shut down or remove the ignorant staff that's working among this facility

Experiencia negativa: Worst place in the world. Abusive to patients. My mother was there 4 weeks she sat in urine and bowel movements every day. She developed a stage 4 skin ulcer and has required surgery. When she went there she was walking talking feeding self and speaking. She is now a mute who is scared of everyone and everything. I hope my lawyer presses charges.

Experiencia negativa: Have tried calling several times on different days and no one will answer. Tried getting a hold of my 90 year old grandmother, that is doing rehab. This is unacceptable!!!!
Experiencia negativa: Horrible experience! My mom had a massive stroke and was sent to HealthSouth for Acute rehab. Dr did not give heart meds that was prescribed by heart specialist, did not give blood thinners as prescribed by neurologist but gave strong pain meds and antidepressants because as dr stated “stroke victims have depression “. Mom stated she was not depressed. Had to wait forever for nurse/aides to assist her to bathroom. Family members ask why she was hallucinating for three days before dr responded. Ended up in ER for chest pains and back in hospital for 2 days with specialists asking family members why she wasn’t getting meds they prescribed for Afib and drained a liter of fluid from around her lungs. Then back to rehab where same dr prescribe Ritalin to “perk” her up while they gave her pain meds to make her sleep. Case manager (4th floor of hospital)was condescending and not helpful. Dr. was unavailable for questions or concerns. Family member feel they need to spend the night for her safety. We have not seen rehab results that we were told would be accomplished. People hyped this place up so much we felt certain this would be the best place for her. We are so disappointed and dissoluted. Now they are shoving her on to the next place because we have disagreed with the dr. What a shame.
Experiencia negativa: A family member was sent here from the hospital. The absolute lack of communication from this place and the hospital was horrible. From day one here this place has been a circus. They have brought clean clothes in for him and he had sets in his room. However everyday for 5 days they would call and say he didn't have clothes. Sitting in the lobby with him this evening takes the cake. They're approximately 5-6 different alarms going off and a group of techs/nurses sat around gossiping about other jobs the hospital is offering that pay more than what the make. I literally heard the displeasure all of these people had while sitting in the lobby with my family member. They are also now yelling about their kids over and over. This makes me sick. I really hope these ladies get those jobs and they get people whom actually care for patients in here!
