Experiencia fantástica: 4 years ago I had a work related injury and had to have surgery on my shoulder. After the surgery my doctors wanted me in physical therapy, after trying 2 different places and sports medicine, I was having no luck. I was then told that Ortho Michigan in Davison was the best. When I first came in I meet the team, who was very polite and made me feeled welcome. After explaining the situation of the injury they were more then willing to help. After Months of pt my shoulder felt brand new as if I was never hurt. Fast forward to now I had an athletic injury were I tore my ATFL after consulting with many foot doctors they wanted a second opinion, they sent me to a foot specialist who said they would love to do surgery but they want to try PT first. I agreed and came back to Ortho Michigan, they made me feeled like a family member who haven't visited but was excited to see me. After a month of PT I was up moving again and the foot specialist and I agreed to hold off on surgery. All I can say is thank you to this Ortho Michigan office and that I would recommend them to everyone.

Please find another way to move us in & out a lil faster plz. Other than that they're very nice & polite

Experiencia negativa: Called for an appointment told me had to go through walk in clinic came in and they were slammed so I waited and waited ok there busy hence why I wanted to make an appointment so final went for x ray which I had one at Mcclearn which the have access to but no had to take more after another hour and a half wait in the room I had to track someone down to help me that APA came in spent 6 mins and then said everything seem ok and sent me back to X-ray 4 hours later I have seen 5 people who came in after me leave already total time here 4.5 hours for what turned out to be a sprain. I’m sure there is many good qualities here I never seen them in any regards to consideration of my time

Experiencia negativa: Horrible place, wouldn’t order mri, meds, brace etc; and sent me on my way to suffer. Had another doc order mri which showed complex meniscus tear and needed surgery that I had to wait weeks longer to get because he treated me like I was faking. Just horrible to make me suffer for so long!

Experiencia fantástica: Dr. Ostrander is a great trauma Orthopedic surgeon. He takes time with you. He always asks if you have any questions. Office staff from the receptionist to nurse are professional. I had a complex ankle fracture. I was in a ER at a different Medical Center in the area. Was told they would have to transfer me because he was the only person that could take care of my surgery.

Experiencia negativa: My mom was referred here for shoulder pain. Her Dr requested an X-ray before the appointment with Ortho to save some time. When we arrived they took the report she printed out and scanned it into her file. They took us back to a room and said they needed to take their own X-rays.. About 15 minutes later the doctor walked in said there's no evidence of arthritis and no evidence of an issue in the rotator cuff. The first x-ray report mentioned evidence of osteoarthritis and a potential bone island, but I guess those magically went away in the 6 days between X-rays. If there's an alternative for you I highly recommend you go to a different doctor. It doesn't matter who you see. They're in and out in less than 5 minutes. They don't pay attention to what you're saying. It's almost impossible to get them to stay in the room long enough to answer any questions. You are nothing but a number at this office.

Experiencia negativa: This past month I had an appointment with Jacob. I was very disappointed in how I was treated by him. He took 3 patients before me who came in after me, making my appointment a half hour late. When he came into the room a young lady was with him. No white coat, no scrubs and no identification tag. Jacob told me she was a student. That's fine but I was not asked if that was ok with me, I was told. Jacob then asked if I was there for cosmetic reasons pertaining to my broken toe. I told him I wear leg braces and it's hard enough finding shoes that work with them let alone a toe that was bent in half. He said I would just have to try harder to find shoes. I was also concerned that the toe would cause more wounds by rubbing on the shoe since it was bent in half. Jacob told me that since I am prone to chronic wounds he thought, yes he thought, the Dr would not be interested in seeing me. I was basically dismissed. If you have a concern about your feet I highly suggest not seeing Jacob. I wil be going to a different Orthopedic office. I am disappointed because when I have had other appointments there I have always been treated well and professionally. Do better Ortho Michigan.

Experiencia negativa: I'd give no stars if possible I thought doctors took the hypocritic oath to help people not deny them service for an outstanding bill of less than $400 .. so thanks for that great customer service because EVERYONE is associated with you and I can't get my hands and shoulder fixed so I suffer daily. When money becomes more important than a patient's health and well being .. it's a problem .. and you and your company disgust me.

Experiencia negativa: I recently have had knee replacement surgery through one of the doctors at Ortho Michigan and it has gone well. However I also have been waiting 6 weeks for an appointment with a podiatrist there and today I got a message 4 days in front of my appointment that the podiatrist was not going to be in the office on Friday so my appointment was canceled. I called the front desk at Ortho Michigan waited at three or four minutes for them to answer the phone that put on hold waited another three or four or five minutes got put on hold again same thing again put on hold again same thing again got put in old again and all I was put in a hold for almost 25 minutes and never got an answer. So I drove over went in told them what had happened they finally figured out that they would get me in on Wednesday but I would have to go to Fenton so I took the opportunity. The appointment was supposed to be for Wednesday and they called it the 18th of August. And wrote it down in the card when I got home I started thinking about it and I looked at my calendar and it 18th is on a Sunday. So rather than trying to call them back I drove back over there and got it straightened out it was for the 14th not the 18th today had written so now we'll see how this turns out on the 14th. When I asked about how come I got put on hold four times and never got an answer, their response was that they get 200 calls a day and sometimes it's hard to keep up. I commented that if they didn't put people on hold they might have less phone calls. All in all the doctors seem fine however the front office staff that are responsible for answering phones need to sharpen up.

My mom is very active and injured herself playing pickleball almost 3 weeks ago when she broke all 3 ankle bones as well as her arm. Pickleball may be all the rage these days but nearly every provider we have seen has commented about the increased injuries that they have seen & treated due to this sport! I have been with my mom every step of the journey - some good & some bad - but the team at OrthoMichigan has been outstanding! In particular, I would like to give very special THANK YOUS to the following: * Dr. Belal Tarakji - Wow! What an amazing orthopedic surgeon! I would recommend him to all! He has taken great care of my mom. He explained everything that would take place during her surgery and what to expect post-surgery with a timeline of goals. Dr. T was very reassuring and positive even when he had to deliver some less-than-positive news about my mom's bone density. * Arianna, MA (Ari) - Please give this young lady a raise! I can not begin to thank Ari enough for being so patient and kind with me through the process of trying to navigate all things healthcare! The ridiculous hoops that CMS had me jumping through to obtain the appropriate wheelchair for my mom were mind-blowing. When Dr. T stated that he had not heard of the requests and is an orthopedic surgeon - it confirmed my frustrations. Ari never once made me feel as if I was an interruption for asking for her help with the endless additional requests that the medical equipment supply company kept asking for in a new way. She even managed my emotional meltdown via the portal message system - I'm sorry, Ari - you are a saint! Again, Ari is a shining example of customer service done RIGHT! * Bethanie - Oh goodness, Bethanie was so wonderful when I reached out after my countless calls back and forth with the DME company for this specific wheelchair with the elevated leg lift. One would think that a patient with 3 broken ankle bones which deformed the foot/ankle to a 90° angle, as well as a broken arm would look at the photos and agree that the wheelchair was appropriate. NOPE - not CMS! When Miss Bethanie answered the phone, she must have heard the sheer defeat, yet the last bit of drive in my voice. I must say that I could hear in her voice that of one who is passionate about her role and I felt deep in my heart that she was advocating for my mom (and me). I could hear her typing as she told me that she was putting in a note to Dr. T and would personally follow up (keep in mind that this was at 4:45pm and I knew their office would be closing soon, but I was desperate to ensure my mom had the tools she needed to heal properly). At that moment, and even now, Miss Bethanie was an angel on earth to me. I knew that she was going to do exactly what she said she was going to do. And guess what? The very next day I received a call that my mom's wheelchair was approved. The very next day! I'm certain that there are many more for me to thank. Please know that although I don't have your specific names - the woman who took my mom's splint off, the gentleman who took new x-rays, the ladies who put the new cast on (GO GREEN!), the sweet woman who helped at registration, and the doctor from your practice that saw my mom at Hurley's ED - THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart! The work you do matters! YOU are important! YOU are seen and appreciated! Thank you, all, for taking great care of my mom. xoxo Heather

Experiencia fantástica: I recently had a revision on my left hip. I also had almost 3" difference in length on my left leg. After having the procedure done. The end results definitely exceeded my expectations. My left leg is the same length now, n haven't really needed any assistance around the house. I went in in at 8:30am Thursday for the procedure, n by 10:30am Friday I was released. I cant say enough on the out come. Doc. Telehowski is a god sent, n would recommend him to anyone that needs, or is thinking about having a hip, or knee done. He's my angel of mercy.

Experiencia negativa: Dr Dass, while a decent surgeon, has one of the most awful bedside manners I've ever experienced. He has a very holier than thou attitude and can be very insulting and condescending. The staff themselves aren't bad but Dr Dass has made all my experiences there almost awful for the most part. He never smiles and even has the audacity to get angry when you make your appointments too close together even if they are needed. I left one awful ortho doctor and now stuck with another equally as bad. I may switch again because I don't think I can take much more of Dr Dass. I know it's not me and I know many other patients that feel the same but they're just scared to say anything. Shame on Dr Dass!
