Experiencia positiva: My father was recently here for rehabilitation following a hospital admission. The facility is older but well maintained and cleaned often. The real star at this facility is a CNA by the name of Annie Mckennon. Very professional and responded to every request and answered all questions pertaining to our families inquiries. She is caring and just a wonderful lady and Broward nursing is lucky to have her!

Experiencia fantástica: Since I've arrived at Broward Nursing and Rehab I have had an amazing experience. The Nursing care that been provided to me is superb and beyond my expectation. Nurses are attentive. Cnas go over and beyond to care for the residents. Activities staff is extremely extraordinary and accommodating. Dr. Dicarlo is a very caring person as well as knowledgeable physician. On the other the food is not my cup of tea. To conclude this facility has greatly exceeded my expectations. Last but not least I'd like to comment on the Physical Therapy Department. When I came here I was in full leg braces, a sling on my left shoulder n was in the very beginning stages of learning to walk. Their Therapy Department is composed of two sections, Physical n Occupational. The therapists are all certified in their field. If you're willing to work hard, you'll succeed with guidance from the therapists. In conclusion the P. T. Department has exceeded all my fears¹ n expectations. I commend them for all the motivation n support they gave me. Many thanks to all of them.

Experiencia fantástica: A Great Place and knowledgeable Professional Staff. I met the Administrator John Hymans, “down to earth guy”, with “Genuine” concern about my family. The food is delicious and fresh, in fact they turned around his weight loss concern we had when he was home. Anger, depression and loss of desire to maintain activities of daily living were some of our issues prior to admission. Our family can say, we are very pleased with our decision to utilize this new home for someone who is very special to us. The building is right next to Broward General and has plenty of parking for our visits. The building is older and in good shape… Someone from our family visits daily and not one of us has ever had a concern for safety or seeing any continued decline. Thank you to all the Staff! Our family put a poem together about the guy who leads the Team; enjoy! In the heart of Broward’s land, A man of care took a noble stand. The admissions staff was very helpful and oriented me to the facility each time. Nursing took great care of them, therapy was amazing and very patient with them.

The food was great and always adhered to his dietary needs. It was very clean and all of the staff showed that they really cared. I would definitely recommend this facility and use them in the future if need be.

Experiencia negativa: Caring for my mother they have been the most uncaring people ever. They ignore her leave her in a chair until 11pm and are rude. Their comments are that's not my job. They are uncaring people. I am waiting for my mothers discharge hopefully soon, she was there for physical rehab. After surgery. They've kept her drugged up. I would never recommend this place to anyone!

Experiencia negativa: My dad was transferred to the NH in Sept 2014 from the Broward Hospital he died 13 days later of pnuemonia and bowel perforation . The last four days were terrible I kept asking the nurses about his condition. He was having difficulty breathing and swelling a lot. The last day he was alive I had to ask the nurse for two hours to call an ambulance. Was told I called the doctor . I finally gave her an ultimatum you call an ambulance or I will. My Dad lived 6 and half hours after being transferred to the hospital. He died of pneumonia and being septic from the bowel perforation. They were giving him blood thinner injections in the abdomen. Their medication error was the cause of his death. The ER dr said that’s what killed him Bc they didn’t rotate sites when giving the injection he had a large purple area where they had repeatedly injected the one spot

Experiencia negativa: DON'T LEAVE YOUR LOVED ONE HERE. ZERO stars. Took Mom out same day she got there. I arrived to find her calling out for help - no one was responding - they had already put her in a diaper so they could leave her alone. No working phone or call button. No monitoring devices. HORRIBLY UNDERSTAFFED. Staff did not want to release her or provide me with info Re: necessary meds. Had to just take her and go.

Experiencia negativa: So My Mom Provided me with Power of Attorney and I am paying the bills and taking care of my 89 year old mom . This place has many many issues . My mom fell in Oct 2021 and went Aventura Hospital and then ended up in this place in late Nov 2021 . I pulled my mom out of here because they have the worst service towards patients .Manager does not care about doing the right thing . The place smells , the service is horrible. There were bugs crawling on my moms bed post . I am putting dates for a purpose so that you DO NOT PUT YOUR MOM OR DAD OR GRANDPARENTS IN THIS PLACE ! IN January 2022 I transferred Mom to another Nursing Rehabilitation facility! Stay far away from this place please do your self a favor ! It should be knocked down and needs to be rebuilt and modernized! Hope this accurate review helps you to make better choices for your family members! I am Sick Sept 11 First Responder with serve Lung Disease and Blood Disease with 40% lung function left because of being down in the Pit on Sept 11,2001.

Experiencia negativa: If zero was an option this would be it. My mother was taken there from the hospital for a broken ankle that she had surgery on. She needs to have some therapy of course until things get better. She is also diabetic and upon arrival they were given medical records and a list of medications. Not one of them knew what was even going on or how to even help her! I UNDERSTAND places are short staff but with the life of a person? It needs to be taken care of instead of making her wear a diaper just in case no one can get to her on time. Hours of not seeing a soul? No. I'm sorry but no thank you.

Experiencia negativa: DO NOT GO THERE!!!!! My brother was there for 6WEEKS and was left in his own feces and developed stage 4 bedsores REQUIRING SURGERY. Terrible place!

Experiencia negativa: One of the worst places to put a loved one in. They lied and did not give her the proper dosage of meds. The do not give water unless you ask for it. 4 days no soap in room, had to bring from home. put rehab patients in same room with dementia patients. Not friendly staff

Experiencia negativa: Do not bring your loved ones here. Our aunt is in this facility as she needed physical therapy after a shoulder dislocation. She has no underlying medical conditions and is in good health as per her doctor. She has been consistently neglected, not showered on a regular basis (The nurses say they shower the patients only 2 times per week) and calls us crying almost daily that she doesn’t want to be there anymore because of how she’s being treated by the nurses. Whenever we call the facility, we are placed on hold and not transferred. Though we visit everyday and bring food for our aunt and ask it to be given to her (she has no dietary restrictions) we find out from our aunt that she never receives the food and the nurses say they threw it away. Overall this is a horrible place and the staff is not concerned with the well-being of their patients.

Experiencia fantástica: My experience at Broward Nursing & Rehab was terrifying at first before arriving here because of the bad reviews I heard. However, once I arrived I was immediately greeted and reassured that I’m in great hands and not to be scared. I felt the warmth and love from the staff. They have accommodated all my needs and have been extremely helpful and committed to my well being. Nurse Paulette, Bell and CNA Brown are sincerely the best. They are so caring and efficient in assisting great care. I had a few episodes that were frightening where I felt like I couldn’t breath and there they were attentive to my needs immediately. I didn’t feel neglected. Also, Dr. Cadogan, who always makes sure she explains my prognosis in depth and provides the best care for me is incredible. I have achieved my purpose and made tremendous progress in walking again since 2009. The rehab department is exceptional, especially Bankroft who went to the extent to deliver my walker to my home, I had forgot at the facility during my first stay. I am greatly appreciative of everything that has been done for me. I would highly recommend this facility. In closing, For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love.. The therapy department has tremendously made a significant impact on my mobility. I have gained my strength and made immense progress in my left foot. Nursing staff attended to my needs and provided excellent care, which is greatly appreciated.

Experiencia negativa: Dirty, lousey food that made a friend sick, rude inattentive staff. Friend threw up and sat in her own vomit for 30 minutes before anyone showed up. Then she got one wet cloth to clean herself with no assistance. She was there for missing an arm. Run the other way.

Experiencia negativa: The worst! Run FAR away!!! Verbal and physical abuse to the elderly and they don’t answer the phone! The place has an awful smell and the employees don’t give a damn

Experiencia negativa: ZERO stars! Horrible, non-compassionate staff. My mother was admitted to Broward Nursing & Rehabilitation Center after heart surgery and resulting complications, requiring physical therapy to regain mobility. She has been consistently left lying her own waste for hours. My father arrived at the center, more than once, to find that her nurse call button was turned off, so that she could not call for assistance! Apparently, it is annoying to the staff to be asked to do their jobs. Mom was returned to the hospital with pneumonia in her lower lungs and low blood cell count. I am reporting this facility to AHCA and urging my father to file suit. Subsequent to her stay here, my mother passed in March 2018.

Experiencia negativa: NEGLECT and VERBAL abuse. I feel guilty that dad stayed here a few years back. I should have trust my gut that they were being mean to him. Perhaps some of the last days of his suffering were made worse by staff here. I am here right now at time of my mom recovering from injury. Aides verbally abusive twice, one employee being investigated by DCF because a nurse witnessed the abuse and reported it to Barbara. Barbara then stated DCF will be notified by her (We did not request that, she made that determination). I'm here listening to barking orders from a new aide to mom. Mom almost choked on vomit an no one responded, apology received from afternoon aide but still, no note in room for aides that mom is fall AND choke at-risk. By the way before the aide apologized realizing that she should indeed be asking patients what it is that they're calling about so that she can conduct a risk assessment of the group that she is serving, she was yelling at the top of her lungs due to us complaining. That aide was also aware about the other aide and the DCF incident so they talk amongst themselves and more than likely sabotage patients that complain. 100 percent accurate that you have to stalk for attention and be ready for dirty looks and insults in other languages. To highlight what I mean by stalking, I mean that you press the button for help, wait 3 hours and have to go back again and then get the dirty treatment because you ask for help 3 hours later, like help in cleaning your waste and applying the medicines that the doctors have requested. Not talking about diva treatment. I am severely concerned about the elders in here without guardians. Please run far from this place. I will be transferring my mom out if here as soon as possible. I was practically begged to keep her here. Last 48 hours of hell here. If you enjoy being sleep-deprived and worrying about your loved ones then do bring them here. Food is below human grade for sure. But the worst part of this place for sure is the unacceptable treatment of the patient. Good luck to all of the patients and families requiring assistance during difficult times.

We had a challenge with a change in insurance coverage and they worked with us so that we would not have to move her to another facility. We are very pleased with Broward Nursing & Rehab

Experiencia negativa: I called this location to obtain information on availability for my grandmother and to see if they provide sub acute therapy. A woman answered the phone and when I asked about sub acute therapy/rehabilitations she said “what’s that? I never heard of sub acute therapy. Can you be more specific because we do therapy and all but I’m not sure about sub acute?” ....ummm, scratching this place off my list! Just Incase the woman who answered the phone today reads this, here is the definition of sub acute therapy/rehabilitation. Subacute therapy/rehabilitation is a less intense rehabilitation than acute rehabilitation. Patients in a sub acute therapy only receive one or two hours of therapy per day, and it is usually a combination of physical, occupational and speech therapy. Sub acute rehab goes by the patients pace; usually older patients that don’t tolerate acute(intense) therapy are placed in sub acute therapy sessions.

Experiencia negativa: ATROCIOUS FACILITY. This establishment has some of the least empathetic and least competent individuals I have ever interacted with in the medical field. Our family encountered dishonesty at virtually ever possible level of personnel. The Dr. Ordered medical needs of our loved one were completely ignored, basic hygiene protocol not followed and communication had to be begged for. Do anything you can to avoid letting ANYONE you care about get "care" here.

Experiencia negativa: My 94 year old grandfather was sent here after being in the hospital for two weeks. Availability was limited and so we decided on this facility since the reviews were not horrible. He was placed on the 2nd floor when he came from the hospital and was then moved to the 1st floor the next day. Although he was now closer to the nurses station, it was always a challenge to find anyone. One day, my aunt walked in and found that he had accidentally knocked his food tray on the floor. He isn't strong enough to pick it up, so it stayed on the floor, no one came by to check on him and so no one knew. My aunt tried to find someone to assist, but she could not find anyone. She had to clean up the mess herself. When she would try to get updates on what was going on, she had a hard time locating the attending nurse. On one occasion, when she found her, the nurse was not very nice, it seemed as though she was annoyed that she was being asked to do her job. Another example: my grandfather has a roommate who was blind and who was recovering from surgery, my aunt witnessed him calling for assistance because he needed to use the restroom. He pressed the button, but no one responded. He finally had to wheel himself in his wheelchair and got stuck at the door. My aunt had to get involved and found someone who said they would get a nurse. The nurse did not come and my aunt had to help him move his wheelchair. My grandfather ended up dehydrated and back in the hospital shortly thereafter. We found out that they had not treated a wound on his lower back properly, his urinary tract infection that was originally being treated in the hospital got worse where he ended up having some kidney damage, and lastly, they never cleaned him. The nurses at the Broward Health Center, where he was taken, showed my aunt how he had dried feces in his pants. It was horrible. Do not send your loved one here, especially if they are not in a position to be a little independent. I will be reporting this to the Better Business Bureau because this place really does need to be looked in to for the condition of the facility and the treatment of patients.

Experiencia fantástica: Staff is nice and kind when you parents or family end up at a nursing home is because of several reasons when others are not satisfied then take the family some place else for better care or take them home. My person was home and it was extremely hard on every one we are all employed I left my job of 11 years to Caregiver my Mom loving after a year my back pain got worse along side a home health care (Aid) Woman caring is no joke it brook us down with the 24 hour care. After all that she end up here we are grateful and if we have to move her we will but dont Blass!!! the Facility move along ...if there is a Law Suit then you complain.

Experiencia negativa: This place is absolutely terrible. The staff should not be allowed to work in a place like this. Every time I go in to visit family I always see something disappointing. The person I knew always complains about how terrible the nurses are. How they steal and touch their belongings which I don’t understand why they do in the first place. The last time I went there their was a woman I heard complain in Spanish about how the nurses didn’t want to take care of her hygiene because she clearly can’t do it herself how sad and disappointing is it go here that of a place you send your own to get help and be cared for and hear this on your way in. Absolutely horrible horrific place to live out your last days. It’s like the nurses want you to pass here none of them have the proper training they should have. Also at the front desk a patient was asking for help and she was literally being ignored right in front of me, I mean they wouldn’t even acknowledge her presence that in itself tells me they don’t do their job. This place should be shut down.

Experiencia negativa: So after writing my review on this facility, I received a few calls apologizing for the conduct of the staff. I appreciated that the time was taken to call back and offer an apology. If I could give this facility ZERO, I definitely would. The customer service, or LACK thereof is horrendous! I spoke with the receptionist Gloria, who sounded so very depressing answering the phones, who kept placing me on hold to get me over to a nurse or nurse manager and instead hanging up on me. After calling back several times she finally put me through to the assistant nurse manager CHICK, who was very an unapologetic, after I explained the reason for my call, but was rather rude to say the least. I would NEVER recommend any of my patients to that facility, because the gatekeeper is the forefront of the business and made a less than perfect first impression!!

Experiencia fantástica: I recently was admitted to Broward Nursing & Rehab following a hospital surgical stay that left me with difficulty breathing on oxygen and very unsteady in need of walking assistance. Upon admission at Broward, I was greeted promptly by the most gracious and friendly admissions nurse who stayed with me in my new room to be sure I was clearly evaluated and comfortable. All of the 3 - 11 nursing floor staff came in to greet me and see what comfort measures I may need. I was quickly evaluated for Therapy the next morning and promptly began treatment. Within just a few days this amazing team had me off my oxygen and walking safely and steadily, thus, I was able to go home with confidence. I would highly recommend this facility and team . I am forever grateful.

Experiencia fantástica: It is with great pleasure to let the world know that I've been dealing with Broward Nursing and Rehabilitation Center since June 2013. My husband was a patient there for rehabilitation and later he was a resident until his demise on August 1, 2014. I was also a patient there for 5 weeks after having a knee replacement. Which was good for me because I got to visit my husband on a daily basis. My mother has been a patient there at least 5 times, with her latest stay from October thru November 23, 2017. The staff at this facility are very professional, caring, and would do what ever it takes to make their patients and guest feel at home. I can truly say that this is the place I'd recommend to anyone who is in need of rehabilitation or a permanent stay. The physical therapist are excellent. Especially Bancroff (if I spelled it right), and Charmaine. The nurses that I know by name: Tracy, Sabrina, and Chic. The CNA's are wonderful. To name a couple: Jasett, Linda, and Shirley! Everyone that my family and I've came in contact with are such loving, caring individuals. I don't remember or know everyone's names, but they are all special to me. The entire staff! Keep up the great work everyone. This is something I think the world should know because you always hear the negatives and not the positives. I love you all! Be blessed! Experiencia negativa: They allow the staff to smoke cigarettes in the courtyard right next to the patients. The halls even smell like cigarettes.

Experiencia negativa: My grandmother was placed here after a major stroke and loss of mobility in her left side. The nurses refuse to feed here, leaving her food to sit while she sleeps. They don't walk her up to sit or socialize. She has open wounds on her arm and they don't bath her so she is filthy. Her teeth are rotten because the refuse to care for her knowing that she can't move. It is terrible and extremely abusive. Even the head nurse doesn't care, rolling her eyes when things are mentioned.

Experiencia negativa: Beware I spent about one hour and half ringing for service. I could not get any service what so ever, all my belongings were sitting in the room scattered on the floor. I have c.o.p.d. and just got out of the hospital from open heart surgery. There was no oxygen set up ,accept a etank, they said they would have to find a oxygen machine and clean it up then bring it in. it was very warm in the room with only a fan ( a good place to raise bacteria ).I asked them to plug in my bi-pap machine that I use to help me sleep as well as to help me breath. They said in 10 minutes, hour and half later still not plugged in, they said that I only need it to sleep, they are so wrong, that machine had saved me many a time to catch my breath. At that point I decided to get out of there as quick as I can, they told me if I left that my insurance would drop me. They wanted me to sign a blank release form, no way. I had my friend pick me up and I got out of there as fast as I could. How and why do they have a license to operate, I don’t know. They should be closed up.

Experiencia fantástica: My mom has been at Broward Nursing for 1.5 years. They have taken very good care of her and treat her like one of their own family. I have no idea where some of these reviewers are saying that the nursing staff refused to feed the their loved one as I have witness the nursing feeding all the residents that are not able to feed themselves all the time. they take care of my mothers hygiene needs daily. I highly recommend this facility based on my own experience of going there on a weekly basis to spend time with my mother. The nurses are very attentive and caring.

Experiencia negativa: My mom was transferred from the hospital here for a bed sore for a week she was OK for a few days then s week goes buy she gets worst she ain't talking right looking like she half dead goes there with one infection leaves there with two I saw the reviews ,b4 they sent her there trusting them and wondered why my mom was screaming for me not to leave when I left.... number one my mom has bad legs that have been kriss crossed for a long time and physically therapy straighten it out with out my permission I told them not to straighten her legs out cause that will cause to much pain And they did it anyways and she was in distress back to the hospital she goes! And if she don't get better its gonna be a problem!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Experiencia negativa: my mom was here and she hated it.. they are rude to others.. they dont pay attention to there patients.... they sit the patients that unable to move around, stuck in the room all day. this is a place i would recommand for anyone that love there mom or dad.... i had to move my mom out of that facility...
