Experiencia fantástica: My mom has Dementia and was having a tough time dealing with her situation. I'm talking about calling 911 6 times a month, and having hearing issues and eye sight problems she refused to address. I brought her to Garland Nursing and Rehab and the care she is receiving is a God send. The staff cares. It is safe, and I don't worry about her when I'm not there. We use to be so scared that she would start a fire without someone with her. Thank you Garland Nursing and Rehab!

Experiencia negativa: Food is horrible. Who serves a dry sandwich just meat and cheese no mayo. Mustard for dinner and a bowl of soup when it's 100 degrees. Nurses are rude and unprofessional. Horrible place

Experiencia negativa: ZERO STARS DO NOT TAKE YOUR LOVED ONES HERE. I WENT TO VISIT MY GRANDMOTHER AFTER HER BEING THERE FOR 3 DAYS..WHEN I ARRIVED SHE HAS A BRUISE ON HER FACE!!!!! NO ONE COULD EXPLAIN IT. THE HEAD NURSE GAVE ME THE GO AROUND AND STARTED MAKING SMART COMMENTS TOWARDS ME. SHE THEN STARTED YELLING AT ME THAT I NEEDED TO LEAVE AND SHE WAS CALLING THE COPS. FOR WHAT EXACTLY?? CARING FOR MY GRANDMOTHERS WELL BEING??? I WILL BE GETTING MY GRANDMOTHER OUT OF THERE ASAP. I WILL BE REPORTING HER ADULT PROTECTIVE SERVICES.

Experiencia negativa: . I went to visit today and it was the WORST EXPERIENCE/PLACE EVER. GARLAND NURSING & REHABILITATION CENTER I get there and someone let me into the locked area where Ma was supposed to be. 1. It smelled like straight urine. The vibe it gave off was it was a psych ward. 2. NO ONE TO BE FOUND to ask where my grandmother was. The lady was calling out loud to find someone working in the are to ask where my grandmother was. I was livid. Finally, someone tells she is down at the end of the hall..I go in her room and she is in bed in a hospital gown . None of her gowns to be found. Hadn't had a shower and the worst part...she has a bruise on her cheek and a mark about her eye. I ask the head nurse (who is in the video yelling at me ) I asked her what happened to her face. She tells me she's been asleep , it's from her laying on her side. I said that is NOT from her laying on her side . She doesn't even lay on her side when she sleeps. (MIND YOU I WAS THERE FOR HOURS AND THE BRUISING IS STILL THERE) She then tells me it's probably from her scratching her face.. don't believe this woman one bit. I tell her I will be reporting this. She says that's fine . She then makes smart comments as she is leaving the room " I have contacted the coordinator to come speak with you since we can't do anything right except take care of HER" I follow her out the room and say you can stop with the smart comments. She started YELLING at me from half way down this hall way telling me I needed to leave and she was calling the cops. For what ?? Caring and worried about my grandmother's well being ? I end up speaking with the coordinator Mary. Very nice lady but she couldn't find any notes on maybe a fall that happened to explain why the bruising on her face. She apologized about everything but no action taken for the unprofessional acts from her head nurse. I go back to my grandmother's room and here comes the police asking me to leave. I literally did NOTHING wrong. The coordinator tells the officers I do not have to leave and I'm thinking why should I feel comfortable leaving my grandmother here when the head nurse is trying VERY HARD to get me out of here just for asking questions about my grandmother. . I found that VERY sketchy . The police officer walked us back to my grandmother's room and he tells me they get calls from that place all the time over different situations. He tells me they are under staffed and have rude people working there. That I should work on getting her out asap. I was like WOW !! This place is not right !!! Oh and not to mention the head nurse tells me in the middle of all that , that the facility was for mentally ill patients and I'm like WHAT ...she is not mentally ill. She has Alzheimer's. But when I asked the coordinator if the facility was for the mentally ill, she said no it's just a SECURED facility. So I'm lost. I'm mind blown and my heart aches for my grandmother to even spend another second there.

Experiencia negativa: 5/1. Moved my mom out of here. Had to file grievance and constantly complain for my mom to get showers. Unacceptable. 4/1. The administrator was very unprofessional when I asked where transportation was because I took off work to get my mother ready for an appointment and pickup was supposed to be at 4 and it was 4:10. She was rude and then acted as if the whole situation stressed her out. Then an employee said I don’t know how you could be stressed you got your nails done in your office this week and today you had a massage in your office. So is this lady getting paid to pamper herself?!? Sure seems like it because asking her to figure something out was like a huge burden had been placed on her! And this was the second time my mothers appointment was missed. The one time she arrived at an appointment it was 20min late!

Experiencia fantástica: My mother in law lived here for approximatley 9-10 months and we were very happy with the level of care that this facility provided. Denise, the facility manager was very helpful with everything we needed. Hannah the social worker is also very nice and you can tell that she cares for the residents. Also, Terry the physical therapist, is top notch and really helped my husbands mother recover from her hip replacement by getting her out of her wheel chair and onto a walker at a pace she was comfortable with. Thank you Garland Nursing and Rehabilitation for the care you provided.

Experiencia negativa: This places get ZERO STARS. the administration here is pathetic. Literally pathetic. I started working for them back in February I was supposed to get my first check March 4th. MIND YOU ITS MARCH 24TH TODAY. they keep giving me the run around and guess what there excuse for no paying me is. They "MISPLACED" THE COPIES OF MY DRIVERS LICENSE AND MY SOCIAL SECURITY CARD. now how in the world does a business that handles PATIENTS AND PLENTY OF MEDICAL PAPER ON THE DAILY misplace someone confidential information.and get this, NOT ONCE BUT 2 TIMES. then they asked me to email them pictures of my driver's license and ID. They are some straight creeps and unprofessional. While working there and being apart of thr employee group chat there were several times patients would come up missing and plenty of patients have told me some many stories of neglect there. The facilities isn't as clean as it should be and they are just now enforcing covid regulations. Patients claim every day I come in there and Ms Wanda the administrator is lousy at her job. Very nacarisstic and a manipulator when she doesn't get her way am filing a lawsuit against them as we speak DO NOT GET IN BUSINESS WITH THEM. . MY CONFIDENTIAL INFORMATION KEEPS GETTING MISPLACED and I'm not comfortable nor would anybody else be with not knowing who has gotten their hands on it or anything . ThYs dangerous and unacceptable and nor have they paid me.

Experiencia negativa: The leadership at this facility deserves 0 stars. With the exception of a few caring members of this team which are Younes, Sadaat, Tammy, Eric and a few others, the rest are nothing short of complete incompetence. They struggle each day to dispense the correct life saving medication my mother needs. HIPAA violations and neglect in all aspects of care can be witnessed here at any given time. There is no accountability or responsibility taken by the individuals who administer the drugs. In addition, my mother is a fall risk and uses the call light when she needs assistance in her room. The call light is rarely answered in a timely fashion and is regularly left on for hours at a time. Truly shameful.

Experiencia fantástica: My dad was recently at Garland nursing & rehad for physical therapy after his knee surgery. The staff there took great care of him. One staff member Tammy Hernandez was awesome. Very friendly & helpful, she made the recovery process a breeze. And the house keeping staff did a great job of keeping my dad's room clean. Chris Lopez always made sure the bed sheets were changed daily. I want to thank everyone at GN&R for all there hard work in getting my dad back on his feet. Thanks to Garland nursing & rehab my dad is back up & moving around like he was before the surgery. We were able to come & have special events with him like movie & game night. The whole experience was great

Experiencia positiva: Worst nursing home. Can't understand the employees....heavy accent. Never answer the phone after 4pm. Choose another nursing home. Your loved one won't be bathed regularly either. Seem to be short staffed.

Experiencia fantástica: Very attentive and caring staff, especially Tammy. My family member chooses to stay here, rather than return home, as he is so cared for here. He loves the food and is always involved in social activities. The staff has always treated him, and his late wife, with lots of genuine love and care. Highly recommend

Experiencia negativa: A family member stayed in this facility for 4 days for the weekend and was treated worse than a dog. As a veteran who served this country, this patient was not treated with the respect most deserved. After staying for such a short stay, we noticed pus oozing from a prior scar and my family member was weak, and confined to a wheelchair. How do you go from walking the day before to being completely weak, unbathed, food all over your clothes, and smelling like urine within a weekend? Male staff members were friendly, however female staff members were rude. There are clear signs of neglect and not all staff follows CDC guidelines. A nurse admitted to me in person she had COVID-19, was hospitalized and was holding her mask in her hand while exposing me to the new Delta variant. My family member was rushed to the ER after only 4 days with bloody urine, a bacterial infection and a UTI. It is 2021, post pandemic and this place is only cleaning the front entrance and neglecting patients behind the secure locked doors. Phones are never answered and you have to call 20 times to reach a nurse. DO NOT LEAVE YOUR FAMILY MEMBERS HERE IF YOU CARE ABOUT THEM!

Experiencia negativa: Beyond Terrible. There's no accountability so residents are neglected. Except for maybe two workers (overloaded nurses), the staff is either completely incompetent or they don't care at all. The office workers are awful. Please don't believe their sales pitch and don't place your loved one in there, unless you plan to move in with them and do the job of the entire staff. They should be shut down (like their sister location in Grand Prairie) but there is currently no policing these faculties or staff.

Experiencia fantástica: Very welcoming clean atmosphere with friendly staff. Good food and great activities. Older facility, remodeled. A little "gem" of a Garland facility that has served the community for many years. Staff is more like family than "paid professionals."

I Love going to work daily in a non toxic environment that is filled with faith, love, laughter, and sometimes pain. Our staff, the residents, and their family members always work together to make sure that everyone is treated fair and given the best quality care that they can receive.❤

Experiencia fantástica: I am so pleased with my father’s experience at Garland Nursing and Rehabilitation. He has been a resident since the end of January and I have nothing but good things to say about the entire staff. Tammy is so helpful when scheduling appointments to visit my father and making sure that the visit goes as well as possible. My father’s nurses, Sade, Toni, Bryant, and Michael are very involved with making sure he gets the best care possible. Chinmay and Karrisa are so patient as they engage my father in physical therapy 5 days a week. The aides, Janette and Keeshon do a superb job with wound care and grooming. Caryn, the speech therapist, has been wonderful. It’s so evident that she genuinely cares about each resident, so kind, sincere, and patient. And I can’t leave out Denise who is always so polite when answering my numerous phone calls and greeting me at the entrance. I have personally been recommending Garland Nursing and Rehabilitation to people I know and will continue to do so.

Experiencia fantástica: One of the best nursing and rehab place around here , you can trust the administration and staffs to take care of your loved one. Its small but staffs are very friendly and they work as a team to take care of their residents . Food is excellent and just talk to Dietary management if you are in special diet or with any restrictions. Lots of activities by a very friendly Activity Director , keep the residents busy through out the day .Rehab team is focus to restore the residents functions and get them back on their feet . I would highly recommend this Facility for any friends and family .

Experiencia negativa: I have had to clean and change my mom almost every time I visit, if not her then her bed! Very disappointed with the service, she’s there for a reason! I hardly see a aide working the hall so I don’t know how many people are actually aides! Plus she’s not going to the dining room because she doesn’t realize it’s time! Come on people you can do better!

Experiencia negativa: Went to see my sister a couple of weeks ago, this is December 17th 2019. Almost couldn't stay, the smell was awful, and my sister looked like she was just stuck in a dark corner. She was scared and afraid.. praying her children will move her.

Experiencia negativa: THE WORST PLACE TO PUT YOUR LOVED ONES. I WENT TO VISIT MY COUSIN THERE, THEY TURNED OFF THE AC TO SAVE MONEY AND IT WAS SO HOT. I WENT TO TALK TO THE ADMISTERATOR, SHE WAS RUDE AND WOUKDNOT EVEN LISTEN. ON TOP OF THAT HER OFFICE SMELLS LIKE SWEAT. I ASKED ONE OF THE STAFF IF ITS LIKE THIS ALWAYS, THE PERSON TOLD ME, A COUPLE OF WEEKS AGO,THEY FOUND A SNAKE IN ONE OF THE RESIDENTS ROOM. PLEASE DONT PUT YOUR ONE THERE.

Experiencia negativa: If your loved one has dementia, don't put them in this place. They have no bed rails on beds, and no bed alarms. Not a very good place for people who cannot take care of them self. Not very good pain management here. Found my stepdad hollering in pain and agony multiple times, they just ignored him, took them 1 to 2 hours for them to give him pain meds after we told them he was in severe pain most of the time. Seven days after he was admitted in this place, the doctor removed his muscle relaxer medication without our knowledge, which would have helped him while doing physical therapy, causing him to have severe pain (muscle spasms) after doing his physical therapy for a broken hip. He did not improve much here because he was in to much pain while doing physical therapy. The Aides and Nurses are more concerned with kitchen duty, and picking up dishes, than taking care of patients, and pain issues, so there is about 6 to 7 hours each day that patients get no care for pain issues, and care each day, hallways were empty and no help to be found during feeding times three times a day for at least 2 hours each feeding time. Had patients asking me for help during these times. THIS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE. UPDATE: My stepdad died 18 days after leaving this place, They caused him so much pain and suffering that contributed to his death. Had to put him on Hospice after leaving this place, and me and Hospice keep him as comfortable as we could, we did a lot better pain management than this place did. The bed sore he had was a stage 1 when he arrived there that he got in hospital, was a stage 4 after leaving this place. We probably would have got several more months to enjoy with him if he was not keep in so much pain there, and if they would have taken better care of his bed sore. BEWARE, leaving your loved one here.

Experiencia negativa: THIS IS THE WORST PLACE THAT YOU CAN TAKE A FAMILY MEMBER THAT YOU REALLY CARE FOR THERE'S ONE PERSON @THIS PLACE THAT YOU REALLY CAN COUNT ON TO CARE FOR YOUR FAMILY & HER NAME IS TAMMY, THIS PLACE IS JUST IS JUST A MONEY PLACE,WHEN YOU WALK IN NO ONE THERE TO GREET YOU EXCEPT THE RESIDENTS, WHEN YOU FINALLY SEE THE STAFF YOU HAVE TO ASK WHO THEY ARE,THEIR NAME TAGS ARE ALWAYS TURNED BACKWARDS,MY MOM WAS THERE FOR A MINUTE,SHE CAME HOME & THE NEXT DAY SHE HAD TO GO TO THE ER,SHE WAS NEGLECTED, I ONLY GIVE THIS PLACE 1 STAR SO I COULD POST THIS FOR EVERYONE TO READ THE TRUTH ABOUT THIS FACILITY.. PLEASE PLEASE BEWARE OF THIS PLACE,IT'S NOT FIT FOR A DOG
