Experiencia fantástica: If I could give more than five stars I would. This facility and everyone associated with it are amazing. I arrived with two broken ankles and unable to even turn myself in bed to fully self care in ten days. The physical therapists are second to none. The nursing and medical staff are caring, compassionate and professional. Care management took care of all my needs to return home. The communication between departments was always evident. Everyone knew where I was in my recovery and addressed my needs at that level. I just can’t say enough good about Good Shepherd Rehabilitation Center. Thank you all!

From the Doctors, supporting staff to the clean five star building, we cannot say enough good things about it. Experiencia negativa: Very nice facility, super fancy, like a high-end hotel. The therapists, PA's, and nursing staff deserve 5 stars, they were great. Dr Daley, who was in charge of running it when I was there, deserves ZERO stars. He was very unprofessional and petty with me. I raised very specific concerns and issues with him to a number of different staff and always got the exact same answer, "Oh, everybody usually loves him!". I waited to post this because I assumed I would hear from them, never did. That tells me they really don't care much about the patients. If I ever need a rehab hospital again, I will only go back there if he is off the staff and had nothing to do with me. Added 1-6 In response to your answer, why would I reach out to you now? To what point? If you don't know exactly who I am after giving very specific and legitimate complaints to at least a half dozen of your staff, including PA's, CRNP's, and RN's, with ZERO response from your facility of any kind, you have unbelievably bad management. Why would nobody ever reach out to me?! Absolutely ridiculous.

Experiencia positiva: Food was good, nice facility, nice rooms, and the attending doctor was helpful. Therapy was just ok. They didn't do all the necessary exercises to get my wife mobile: no walker training, no crutches training, no steps training. How do you expect someone to be able to navigate on one leg without the correct training ( one leg is no weight bearing). The case manager was terrible, don't really think she knows her job. She came in the second day my wife was there and was talking about a date for the next week of discharge. How can you do that when she was just starting therapy that day. Would not go back for any treatment. I think it is all about the "MONEY" to pay for the new facility, NOT about the patient's need

Experiencia negativa: Not sure why I had this appointment. The doctor literally did everything in his power to not treat any of my spine conditions. This place just does injections, if like me your neck is too damaged for injections they won't do anything else.

They threaten you and are very nasty to the point of calling the cops when You ask them a question and they Don’t want have a conversation or discuss anything with you about the care of your child. I would not recommend this place at all nasty people they don’t not care for their patience or the family.

Experiencia negativa: Poorly treated, as for low of staff. To the point of making the individual wear diapers like it’s normal. Sending home with a catheter, bag was huge. I do not recommend this place to anyone. Get more staff, to help the elderly go to the bathroom instead of making them be a baby with diapers.

Experiencia negativa: My mother is a patient there. She has complained about the poor quality of the meals—dried out meats, undercooked vegetables, requested or listed menu items not provided. The food is far from the “delicious” as advertised on their website!

The nursing staff—including Jessie, Susan, Justin, and Manny—went above and beyond to ensure my comfort and well-being throughout my stay. I am also incredibly grateful to the dedicated aides: Cosmo, Julie, Amanda, Rachael, Anthony Garcia, and Mila, who consistently showed kindness, patience, and attentiveness in their daily support. The physical and occupational therapy team, especially Jessica and Jennifer, played a crucial role in my recovery. With three hours of therapy each day, I saw steady progress and felt myself regaining strength and mobility faster than I had expected. Their encouragement and expertise made a challenging process feel manageable and even motivating. I wholeheartedly recommend this facility to anyone in need of rehabilitation services. If you're reading this and considering where to go for care, look no further—this is a place where healing truly happens.

From the warm hearted ladies (Maggie and Lauren) at front desk when you first come in to the nurses/the aides/PT OT Speech & Case Mgmt on 4th floor you are all amazing. Angela, Melinda oh gosh I’m bad with names but all the ladies from left wing side of 4th floor as I call it lol I can’t thank y’all enuff for the upmost amazing care you all provided for my mom whom has late stage Dimentia n suffered a stroke.May God continue to bless you all!!

Experiencia negativa: Beside Lehigh Valley Hospital probably the 2nd worst rehab facility/Hospital. Questions were not answered when asked, nothing was given to take home with the patient. Like walker and required tools to help the patient. They said just buy them on Amazon. Called insurance and they said the hospital should have sent that all home. Staff has NO knowledge at all. Definitely did not meet our expectations. How do you send a patient home that can't walk? All they care about is their 1 billion dollar facility. Also good Shepard please don't comment back with the typical saying we apologize and call this number etc. We're past that!

Before I could ask where the other location is, she proceeded to talk past us like we weren’t there to the next person who was the only person in line. Experiencia fantástica: My husband suffered a traumatic brain injury on 2/16/23. He was admitted to Good Shepherd on 4/4/23 unable to talk, walk, stand, care for himself. Upon discharge on 5/4, he was ambulating with a walker, speaking and assisting with personal hygiene. The therapists were great!!!

Experiencia positiva: They took excellent care of my 34 year old son. He has a severe head injury and came from geisinger hospital. He was still a bit confused when he got there and within days I could see improvement. Dr Kimmel was very good with my son Kevin and was very thorough with all of his family at his meeting. She answered all are questions and explained our concerns. The team that worked with my son were amazing and nice. They are great at what they do.

Experiencia fantástica: As a nursing professional of 54 years, I am eager to render 5 stars to Good Shepherd. My week long stay after tibial rodding was amazing. The dedication and professional attitude of all was commendable. The nurses, aides, therapists, residents, lab, dietary, housekeeping et al showed teamwork on every level. Pleasant, helpful demeanor to patients, visitors and each other. I have not witnessed this in any facility where I have worked. Dr. Dailey is a walking encyclopedia of rehab protocols. The daily rounds and time spent with each individual was refreshing to see. I am continuing out patient rehab at a Good Shepherd facility. Please know that I am recommending your institution to everyone I come in contact with. God bless and all the best in your new building.

Experiencia fantástica: I can’t say enough about the care and comfort I received at Good Shepherd. I suffered a stroke in March and received excellent care. Unfortunately, the stroke exacerbated my issues with vertigo and I found myself back after a vertigo attack caused a fall, breaking two ribs. The vestibular therapy I received was extensive, but more importantly, it uncovered more issues that can be handled by outpatient therapy. The staff is phenomenal! Anxious to take a tour of their new facility when they move in July…it will be nice to see all those familiar, friendly faces.

From the Dr's to the nurses, to the nurses aids down to physical and occupational therapy everyone there took great care of me. They prepared me for my real world activities as well as got me healthy both physically up to and including my diet... I was not happy when I was asked to go to there facility in reality I wanted to go home but it was in my interest to go there... thank you good Shepard and your staff

Experiencia negativa: The new facility is very nice looking, but they are under staffed and the current staff lacks empathy and skills. My mother had been transferred to this facility after being in an icu for over two months. They were suppose to be able to handle her new trach. Unfortunately that wasn't the case, after being rushed to the hospital the hospital staff was extremely disappointed as it was very apparent they were not cleaning the trach and her cannula wasn't changed. It was almost closed which is part of the reason she was struggling to breathe. While she was at good shepherd, at times it took the staff almost an hour to answer the call bell. And she was given a hard time about her incontinence by 2 nurses. My Aunt had to deal with staff rolling their eyes at her the day my mom was being taken to the hospital. I will say, the ot and pt staff was very kind and did a wonderful job with her.

Experiencia fantástica: I couldn't have asked for a better place to go than Good Shepherd! I had a wonderful team of doctors, nurses and CNA's, along with Physical, Occupational and Recreational therapists who got me up and walking again after my horrible fall. I had a wonderful physiatrist and awesome nurses and CNA's that helped with my pain and swelling, especially after physical therapy and at bedtime. They all helped to control my pain so I could do my best during my physical therapy. My Physical therapists were extremely knowledgeable, professional and nice to work with. Despite my pain, I did everything they told me to do and in two weeks, they had me up and walking really well with a walker. They taught me how to go up and down steps too. I got three hours of physical therapy a day, thus the name "Acute Inpatient Rehab." Occupational therapy covers a lot of things that you'd have to do inside your home. We covered getting around in the bathroom, so I wouldn't have any trouble bathing or showering myself, and how to maneuver my walker in the kitchen so I could use the refrigerator and open and shut cabinet doors, etc. Things I took for granted were now burdensome, but after my therapists' guidance, I don't have to worry about taking care of myself or being able to do household chores when I go back home. Everyone needs something to get their mind off the pain and that's where Recreational therapy comes in. I had a wonderful therapist that let me gab away while coloring or doing a puzzle, which is a great thing to do to get your mind off your pain. The room was big and felt homey with the piano, air hockey table, games and plants. Let's not forget the food! The food that came out of that kitchen was amazing, so delicious that I felt like I was at a restaurant, or better! The meals were so balanced that I wasn't hungry for snacks between meals. (I may have even dropped a few pounds.) My stay at Good Shepherd Acute Inpatient Rehab was awesome and everyone's efforts, especially mine, all came together at the end. I'm at home instead of a skilled nursing facility, and am doing all the exercises I learned at Good Shepherd. They all got me on the right road to recovery and I couldn't thank them more.

Experiencia fantástica: Exceptional rehab facility. Only suggestion I would make is whoever deliver the food trays ask the patient if they need help with anything. Like opening containers or cutting food. Many patients are too weak to do so.

Experiencia fantástica: Not only was I treated like family but everybody treated me like a son I was 17 at the time I am now 18 years later I feel happy to say they treated me amazing everybody was so professional besides this one nurse but they took care of her real quick they made sure that she never saw me again and I respect them for that not sure if I can come in to thank the nurses . but I would love to be being 17 years old I met so much older people who wanted to be friends with me not only did they make me laugh but they surrounded me with a bunch of education I respect this place a lot this is an amazing place I would like to thank the whole staff for being so amazing and I mean it from the bottom of my heart. everyone here in this building deserves everything they have coming towards them seriously thank you without you guys I wouldn’t be anything I really hope they see this they change my life and I can’t think them enough. this is the best place to go out of all rehabs in although I hope never to go back to a rehab I would definitely go here the doctor was amazing as well got to give him a bunch of credit he got me out of there so I can celebrate Christmas on December 25 of 2021 thank you doctor. You know you’ve worked out when you’ve worked with them and that’s not in a bad way that’s in the best way possible and that’s why. I choose good Shepherd over any other place for rehab.

Experiencia fantástica: I arrived at Good Shepherd on Wednesday the evening before thanksgiving only able to move my arms after an L4-L5 laminectomy and fusion. After nine days of amazing care, PT and OT I left GS able to walk and do stairs with a cane. This unbelievable transformation was due to the attention to detail and encouragement of the staff. I recommend GS without hesitation or reservation. Truly a world class facility.

Experiencia fantástica: We chose Good Shepherd from our relatives in the past are friends have gone through there and have come out in a lot better condition than they were going in. From the nursing staff to the rehab to the cooks and the kids delivered the food. Don't believe you'll get better treatment from any other rehab in the area. When you couldn't go any further at least you thought if they pushed you a little bit more well a whole lot more. Sort of like Parris Island boot camp. But it all shows what you can do in the end . I thank all of you guys for everything that you've done to help me get where I am right now and thank you to the staff for helping to get me a ride home. Experiencia fantástica: Therapists were fantastic. I never expected to see so many different therapists in seven day & everyone was fantastic. One of the things I was amazed at what their demeanor who is positive smiling and friendly. The nurses were just as good and positive and smiling and never complained about anything you could ask for anything and they would get it for you and do it for you. Outstanding on both ends.I had some issues with medication that were taken care of immediately for scheduling which was ratified immediately. There are some questions which insurance company and discharge and so forth which ended up being taken care of which I’m thankful for. Five stars you deserve it

Experiencia fantástica: Was transported to Good Shepard following spinal cord surgery, not sure if I would be able to walk again. They were amazing, and to make a long story short was able to walk out of the facility 2 weeks later using a walker to continue my rehab as an outpatient from home. The PT staff there is truly amazing as they work on re-establishing your motor skill and then refining them all the while helping to build you self confidence and belief in your self again. Not a place to go for rest, but one you go to get better. I would not hesitate to recommend it anyone. Jim Cahill

Christie found very creative ways for me to do therapy using items in my home. I am now going to the Orwigsburg location two times a week and making great progress! Experiencia positiva: Staff is very friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. However, the facility is long overdue for single, private rooms and a renovation of the bathrooms which are very old and often dirty.

Experiencia negativa: For a company who is constantly posting RN job ads and holding RN open houses for on the spot interviews, I was disappointed to be told that because I am an RN with 20 years (acute and LTC/ homecare) experience and unable at this point in my busy life to re-enroll in school for yet another degree, that I was not qualified or eligible to work part time night shift at any of their locations. The only banners that need to be flying outside their parking lots is "DO NOT BOTHER APPLYING UNLESS YOU ARE A BSN" copied and prominently posted on all of their fake job ads and website. I wasted my time at their open house, and the person I spoke to did not even take my name, and seemed to have trouble with the english language. A place who treats nurses like garbage doesn't deserve my time. Never again.

Experiencia negativa: My niece was there following a car accident. Within a month, she was sick, a fact that the staff ignored chalking it up to allergies. By the time the doctors there acknowledged she was ill, she had an advanced case of pneumonia. Her rehabilitation progress stopped after this, and Good Shepherd refused to take her back after her illness. I believe they were concerned about a lawsuit. They talk a good talk but the care is substandard and the doctors lack compassion. DO NOT SEND YOUR FAMILY MEMBER TO THIS FACILITY.

Patient probably had a very bad trauma nurse was very rude talking to patient and very demanding I thought nurses were to be patient not snotty and rude they should train morning shift nursing on that unit how to treat there patients with dignity and respect other then that great place

Experiencia fantástica: I spent two years in pain many other doctors couldn’t help me with, without handing out lots of medication. When I walked in to PT, an amazing young lady Charlene took me very seriously and promised they would help. They worked out a schedule for me and Liz took me under her wing and treated me like gold!! I finished her therapy a year and a half now but I still continue to do her exercises. I feel wonderful and my whole life has changed for the better. I couldn’t be more amazed at the results. I would highly recommend Good Shepherd for their PT program!!!

Experiencia fantástica: Such a great experience with our daughter who refused to eat solids and was dropping weight. Everyone we interacted with there from start to finish was kind, intentional, and helpful. Our 1 year old is healthy as can be and now eats like a horse. Haha Many thanks to the whole team at Good Shepherd. We are so grateful.

The facility inside and out are very clean and well kept giving you the feeling your going to be in good hands. Recommend this rehabilitation facility for your next injury.
