She described the pelvic floor connection to an episodic retraction and blood flow issue that I had. In two visits I have made noticeable improvement and I have learned a ton about places and curves and dark corners that usually go unspoken. I was never uncomfortable, she made it easy. PMPT really offers comprehensive services, ensuring that everything between your rib cage and your knees is synched up and harmonious. My advice for other men, don’t be shy or be a stubborn caveman, ask for help. They are wonderful people in a nurturing environment. Katharine is unbelievably knowledgeable and personable. It has been spectacular and eye opening, in sharp contrast to the mediocrity and rigidity of the typical healthcare experience.

When I started working with Dr. Maureen ~5 weeks after my second daughter was born, my body didn't feel like my own. Dr. Maureen helped me retrain my muscles, get physically stronger, and resolve my pain. She also helped me understand the toll pregnancy took on my entire body, which empowered me to be more patient with myself throughout the recovery process. Experiencia fantástica: I was in the office on April 12 with my 5 year old daughter. She struggles with stool withholding and other toilet concerns. My daughter is extremely slow to warm and not willing to participate in an unfamiliar environment. From the moment we walked through the door she was loosenging up. The environment was so welcoming and warm. As we moved through the initial appointment I was blown away and beyond grateful for the care and expertise that was given to my daughter. I had traveled across the country looking into specialist treatment prior to discovering Maureen and her practice. Experiencia fantástica: I consulted with Dr. Katherine at Purple Mountain for lower back pain that would happen with specific movements (bending over, deadlift). (She actually read/discussed the pre-consultation paperwork I completed; I'm not sure I've encountered a medical professional who has done that before--most seem clueless about my history on the first appointment, despite me giving more than enough information on the pre-consultation paperwork.) It turns out that I needed pelvic floor therapy as well. This is a very intimate treatment, and Dr. Katherine creates an environment of privacy, care, compassion, and no-judgement. She and I clicked very well, and I looked forward to my weekly appointments with her, not only because the treatments were helping noticeably, but also because she is a lovely person who really understood me, and I enjoyed chatting with her. I recommend Purple Mountain to everyone I can, and they will be the first I call if I ever need treatment again.

Three months ago I realized that my lady parts were falling down. I searched everything I could find on the internet, ordered and read many books, exercised, herbal supplements, anything and everything I could think of to encourage things to get back where they belong. The first month was discouraging physically but also emotionally. During that first month I also researched quite a number of pelvic floor physical therapists in the Grand Rapids area, and West Michigan as a whole. I knew without a doubt that Purple Mountain Physical Therapy was the best place to go to be treated. Their wealth of knowledge is incredible. As expected, their method of treatment goes way beyond anything that I could do myself, and they have a way of explaining it all in a manner that's easy to understand. It's rather amazing that even at the beginning of each appointment, with an explanation of how things are progressing, it will allow Katharine to understand what the focus of that appointment should entail. After just a few weeks of seeing Katharine and following her advice and exercise routines, I am seeing such positive results. I am so appreciative of everyone at Purple Mountain Physical Therapy. Experiencia fantástica: I went to get my pelvic floor issues assessed and to see what route I should take for treatment. I saw Dr. Katharine Cline. I was terrified thinking the worse out come possible. I was relieved to find out for me(each case is different) I could get healing without surgery. Everyone was really nice. This is an out of network facility and you will have to ask for coverage from your insurer, who may or may not cover it. The woman were very kind and very understanding, I was very emotional and felt shameful about my pelvic floor issues. My doctor was very understanding and reassured me that it was okay and was understanding of my emotional break down. So please please if you're having issues make an appointment, you won't regret it. I'll give an up date on my condition in 10 to 11 weeks.

Experiencia fantástica: I went in to see Maureen for urinary frequency, bladder discomfort, and pelvic pain in my second trimester. My doctors and other PT's have said that there is "nothing you can do" about pelvic floor symptoms during pregnancy and that is not simply not the case with Maureen! After a couple of visits, I was able to continue walking and exercising without running to the bathroom every 20-30 minutes. Now, I am at the end of my pregnancy feeling BETTER than I did during my second trimester..no pelvic pain, urinary urgency, OR bladder discomfort. Thank you Maureen for helping this mama feel great. I am definitely returning to see her postpartum! If you are looking for a pelvic floor physical therapist who is highly knowledgable (she comes from Chicago where PT is more cutting edge than in Michigan to be honest), caring, and passionate about what she does...do not hesitate and call her!!

I will say that I used to cry for my kid and worry to the point of panic and deep sadness. Today, it's not like that anymore and I'm smiling while writing this because Dr. Maureen gave my kid a life that is in MANY ways better than before the illness began. Experiencia fantástica: I can not say enough good things about Maureen! After a year a jumping between PTs, surgeons, pain specialists, and more I was losing hope. No one was willing to listen to me and treat my body as a unit and instead I recieved random services for one problem at a time. Maureen is the kindest most comprehensive PT I could ask for. She is incredibly intelligent, empathetic, and educational. I've learned more about how my body functions from her than any previous PT. She truly listened to me and my entire history. I was told my pain would be chronic and something I'd have to deal with forever by a pain specialist. Maureen has managed to help me have pain free days in just a few weeks! Experiencia fantástica: I’m in my second trimester of my first pregnancy and one day I started experiencing significant SI joint pain. I found Maureen by chance, just by doing a google search, and I decided to give it a try because I really needed help. My first appointment was great. She took her time to do a thorough physical exam of my back and joints and explained in detail what was happening and why. She started working right away on my back and we practiced several exercises for me to continue doing at home. We did 6 sessions in total and at the end of the 6th week I was feeling really well. The pain was barely there. She came up with a plan with me during our last appointment that included an exercise routine to strengthen my core muscles for delivery and for the rest of the pregnancy. I highly recommend Maureen and her services. She’s kind, compassionate and very knowledgeable. I will be for sure visiting her back once my baby is born to continue working on a speedy postpartum recovery.
