Experiencia fantástica: Riverton Rehahabilitation and Health Center is a nice renovated place with great staffs that do their very best to take care of us and they have very good therapist that works well with us helping us back on our feet this is my second journey here with them.

Experiencia fantástica: I would definitely give this place 5 stars. I have a loved one here and the staff truly go above and beyond for the patients. Every time I visit everyone is really pleasant and they help me with anything we need. If you are in the position to need a rehab for your family member I would definitely recommend Riverton.

Experiencia negativa: My grandmother was treated horribly here. We got her out after only two weeks. Please, staff, for the sake of humanity, take care of the elderly here. We are all going to end up in these services one day, treat them how you would want to be treated.

Experiencia negativa: If I could give this place zero stars I would. My mom was in rehab for a week and it was awful. Her food was always cold, not a clean environment, the second floor smells terrible and staff are not friendly. Definitely not a welcoming facility. Avoid it if you can. This place is awful. The lobby looks beautifully renovated, but don't let that fool you. The floors and rooms are dirty and old. Staff doesn't care about the patients and some speak to them harsh and with an attitude. I pulled my mom out, because it was such a negative environment and it pained me seeing her there when I visited. DO NOT BRING YOUR LOVED ONE HERE! They don't care about their patients. I never complained about her stay because she saw what happened when her roommate complained, so we stayed quiet since she was only there for a short stay. I think it's important to warn others of this place, which is the reason for this review. I know I will never bring my mom here again.

Experiencia positiva: Update: Cindy the director has called and sufficiently addressed all of our concerns. Most of them were the result of the hospital insufficiently passing along the care notes about my father. The hospital and the rehab center have different patient portal systems which we did I not know. Once we had access to both portals we were able to coordinate his care more effectively. Kudos to Cindy for calling and explaining the situation then working to correct it Staff is extremely non responsive to patient issues. Diabetic numbers in the 400 range and still no insulin. Won’t allow patients to shower when requested. Diabetic father is there, no diet drinks or decaf coffee. Say they won’t have them for weeks. Feeding him non diabetic foods and don’t give him insulin. He requests help getting to the bathroom, they don’t show up. Horrible place. Have never heard him so defeated. Sitting in wet pants.. inhumane

Experiencia negativa: Avoid this place at all costs. The people who work there (including medical staff) seem to just be interested in collecting a pay check, not caring for their patients. Dr. Paige Van Wirt might be the worst doctor I've ever dealt with in my entire life. The experience we had would take days to write up in full. They'll tell you they take cleanliness and patient care very seriously, but their actions say otherwise. I highly recommend against sending your loved ones here. Read the other one star reviews. You'll notice a trend. This review isn't just a complaint, it's a genuine warning for those considering sending loved ones to Riverton.

Call bells not answered Dad was manhandled roughly He was not kept clean He sat in his own urine and poop cause they would stick him in a wheelchair with the call button on the other side of the room. Experiencia negativa: If you have a loved one do not place them in Riverton Rehabilitation center in allentown. Since my dad got there we have had to be there everyday in shifts just to make sure he is being taking care of. What a strain it has been, but he is my dad and i will step up and step in when it is needed. As of today he is home. Yes complaints were filed almost daily. Yes I reported it to the state. Along with pictures and documentation. We had everything from them taking his call bell because he rang to much to go to the bathroom. The man is on lasix. Leaving him in soiled clothes Leaving him in wheelchair with no call bell Putting food tray in front of him and leaving mind you he is 83 and just had shoulder replacement. Male aid physically putting my dad up against the wall, my dad's words manhandling him. Not bathing him or assisting. Never put his hearing aids in or glasses on. I rang the bell and timed it at 11 minutes for someone to answer Nursing aids need to ask themselves how they would want their parents treated. I left there in tears almost everyday. I drove there everyday to care for my dad because they couldn't be trusted. My mom went every evening. Families need to be the elderly advocates.. If I could rate no stars I would

Experiencia negativa: Absolutely horrible on the 3rd floor rehab building. My father was there for 2 months, lost every bit of progress from his month stay at Muhlenberg after spinal surgery and ended up calling 911 because he couldn't breath. Called for a nurse twice, first time they sent a tech, then a nurse finally came in when 911 showed up. He ended up having RVS Pneumonia that wasn't noticed on several x-rays at Riverton. He only had 1 shower while in there, the second scheduled for the day they took him to the hospital. They put him in a diaper and regularly wouldn't change him for over an hour after he called for help. It got so bad it would leak out on his clothes and all over the floor. Talk about making someone feel less than human when they're in there to be helped to recover. Thank goodness for him going to the hospital because he was able to transfer to Good Sheppard in Center Valley. He's being treated so much better and healing from all the damage done being neglected at Riverton.

They’ll ignore your pleads and begs for help regarding your loved one, if you don’t speak English they’ll try to shush you (like actually shush you) while you’re trying to get help for your loved one. They will lie and defame your character to get your loved one kicked out if you’re too on top of them to do their job properly. A man died and they didn’t realize til late and they dropped a lady while changing her; she was gone and never returned that night. They treat humans like they’re disposable and get mad when you call them out on it. I’ll refrain from pictures as they’re too much. Shame on yous. Update My mom’s scans came back and she had kidney stones ready to rupture her bladder. While the facility swore she was okay and in stable condition, the emt (that they tried denying my mother) even said her blood pressure was way below normal and she was not doing okay. You swore that my dad had no reason to be angry, but how can he not when you accused him of constantly calling the cops?! when this was only the second incident?! You accused my brother who never speaks unless he has to of being aggressive when he is kind person and wants to become a pediatric nurse. Your nurses sat around laughing while my mom’s health was declining. I was on the phone with the I believe was the director of nurses? Who made these accusations. You are all unbelievable. Update #2 My mom is having kidney failure and her lungs were collapsed by the time she got admitted to the emergency room, she’s now in the ICU due to their neglect.

Experiencia negativa: They absolutely deserve 0 stars if possible,my mother(tbi survivor) was at the rehab portion for 5 months and during those 5 months staff would constantly neglect her and leave her in positions where she was struggling to breathe and uncomfortable,and we are now finding out that she has kidney stones (her not getting her proper water like they're supposed to give) they would only check her if she's okay when they give her medicine and every 2 hours to rotate her (they wouldn't even do that sometimes) I asked kindly and went through the proper steps to ensure things change (me and my father) just for our pleads and requests fall on deaf ears,genuinely if you truly hold your loved ones close,do not send them here. I will also add some of the stuff are unprofessional,I asked to speak to the head of nursing staff and when I was talking to them,my mothers doctor walked in and which the head of nursing promptly made her swift exit without hearing my concerns. I then proceed to tell the doctor (unsure kf their position title) my concerns to which i was cut off multiple times and when I was able to talk it was met with "don't worry it's a good thing" "don't worry" "it's okay". I had a concern about her positioning and was met with "it's okay she's okay,we want her to be uncomfortable so it can encourage her to move" completely absurd I was nothing but professional and kind to staff its saddening it wasn't returned to my mother

Experiencia fantástica: The personnel here are very good and attentive. The aides Stephanie and George in particular, are wonderful. They learn to anticipate your likes, dislikes and needs. There are numerous others that are very good too. The nurses are very good as well. I never used to feel comfortable with male nurses until I had Tom for a nurse. He is friendly, efficient and knows your medications even when you take a lot of prescriptions. Again, he is just one of several that are adept at their jobs. The activities personnel are also wonderful. The many different activities they plan help to pass the time and put a little bit of fun in your day. It’s the people that make the facility. If it weren’t for them this place would be nothing more than a building. Together, they all help to make you feel a little less lonesome for home.

Experiencia negativa: This place sucks don’t treat the people right leave your loved one in a dirty stuff for hours on end and for food give them food that they can’t eat and told to be quit if they make to much noise and to put there phone away when they are on a t for like a few minutes

They did not change properly and I found myself back in the hospital. And while in the hospital they kept my new sneakers and wound cover i just bought.

Experiencia negativa: Communication by social work and all parties was non-existant. No discharge paperwork provided. Told that insurance sets the discharge date. When we called the insurance to find out they told us that was completely untrue and the facility dictates discharge. Medical equipment was ordered without letting us know and when we asked if insurance would cover it we were told, "well it shows nothing on our side. So you'll have to see when you get it." Low and behold we received a $300 bill for equipment that wasn't even necessary. The nurse supervisor was condescending and rude.

Experiencia negativa: Absolutely terrible. I called in the morning to see if my grandmother was avaible to visit. The staff said she was. I come to find out she died during the night and the staff failed to tell me this even though one of her daughters was already notified. This place is a joke.

Experiencia negativa: Riverton employs SOME great CNAs and mostly terrific nurses. One nurse in particular--Nancy Doerr, is warm empathetic and so compassionate she gets five stars! As I heard one angelic CNA Dee Harris) once say, "Kindness is free." and as my favorite CNA Kim Wolfe, says. you can train someone, but you can't teach them to be kind. To Nancy Dee and Kim, kindness comes naturally! The measure of any facility is in the staff they hire.

Experiencia negativa: I feel terrible for anybody who believes the hype of some of these reviews. People are left for hours sitting in their own urine, bathrooms are disgusting, showers are not being offered to these patients, there isn’t any communication between the respective departments and the POA’s. People’s equipments is tossed on the floor in their rooms, patients are yelling into the hallways because their bells are lit up and they aren’t getting answered. The 11-7 aids aren’t rounding on patients, and if you bring it to their attention, they give loved ones an attitude. This place leaves alot left to be desired. My mother was given good care on a few occasions. The shame of it all, is that it occurred because I was here advocating and fighting with these people to give her what she is paying for. I also have photos of the deplorable conditions of the bathrooms over the weekends.

They said she died 5mins after, I left which was around 10:00 am ish , I had phone message as ,I got to work I work 2nd shift,so I called they said she died 1:20 of cardiac arrest,message.So how could she die 5mins after I left???.

They put everyone in a diaper and let them set for hours Food portions are small and place isn’t clean. To me this is not new management just a name change. My mom died under their care and was fine the day before. I can give so many more complaints about this place. Do not send your love ones here.
