Village Health Care: Opiniones
Experiencia fantástica: My 98yr old grandma has been here for a week and so far we are so happy to have this skilled nursing facility. This place is well staffed and clean, no funky smells. We love the courtyard and she loves the food.
Experiencia negativa: If the front facing customer service is of any indication about this facilty, I'm completely flabbergasted. Then there's the reviews by others... Very unprofessional, no one actually has any answers and I'm still not sure why, how, or even where Village Healthcare obtained my personal phone number. *as I read other reviews, I see many of the 5 star comments are from actual facilty employees and administrators, a direct conflict of interest in review making policy on Google. Reported.
Experiencia negativa: My great grandmother has been sent here multiple times and it’s like every time it gets worse. There has been times we visit that we find her medication and we find out she didn’t take it, we have found it three separate times and every time a nurse gives us attitude and makes an excuse on why my grandmother didn’t get her medication. Recently my great grandmother called me and my family and 1 in the morning telling us she was in the hospital again and we didn’t get a call from the nurse in charge or any other nurse, also they don’t answer the call lights until they want to but even then they will tell them to wait and turn it off and just leave half the time they don’t come back unless a family member is in there.
Experiencia negativa: TV doesn't work. No menu options. No dietary considerations. Really subpar
Experiencia negativa: My sister was sent to this facility. This is the worst place on the planet. She did not receive the wound care she was sent there for. She was not given her pain medication on a schedule. In fact they told her she didn't need to know what the schedule was for her pain medication. They said they didn't need to follow Medicare guidelines. They were a private facility and they had their own rules and regulations. Just lies. They did sign a contract with Medicare to take patients for them so how do they not have to follow those guidelines? When they decided they didn't want to take care of her anymore they gave her 45 minutes to get her belongings together and sent her home in a cab. She had had spine surgery with a surgical incision down her back more than a foot long that required wound care. There was no one at her home to take care of her. They never called Home Health to set up a schedule for wound care. She had to go to her surgeon who couldn't believe this had happened. That's what he sent her for was to have wound care. This is all neglect, elder abuse, lies lies lies. I wouldn't send my worst enemy to this place.
Experiencia negativa: My 80 yo mom had major back surgery and admitted here for rehab on a Wed night at 10pm. She saw therapy on Thursday. Friday, was told her they were going to discharge her on Sunday. She had just got there!! She lives alone. She can’t get herself dressed, use the bathroom, stand long enough to get herself something to eat, bath herself, or get herself in/out of bed. Her surgical incision drains profusely; & needs changed 3x/day. She appealed the Notice of Medical Non-coverage (NOMNC) Sat morning. The therapists said they did not discharge for her. So her discharge was not driven by therapy. She has Traditional Medicare which does not issue NOMNC. It is Medicare fraud for facility management to discharge someone for financial gain. You need to be a safe dc and no longer have skilled needs. I am a PT & worked in skilled nursing for 24 years; I know the regs. Facts to note: 1. Medicare pays for the admit day and does not pay for they day they discharge 2. A facility can NOT charge a Medicare patient for day of discharge 3. Kepro is a 3rd party, separate from Medicare/insurance, that handles appeals. They don’t issue NOMNC; the facility does 4. It does not matter if you are a “private company”, if you accept Medicare payments, you have to follow Medicare rules 5. If a patient appeals, the facility has to keep them and treat them as if they are still a skilled medicare patient At 11:10 AM on Monday, they told her if she was still in her room at 12:01 pm, they were going to charge her $800. Her sister could not come until after 3pm. They did not care. They continued to threaten and intimidate her. She is not allowed to sit for long periods of time or lift. They packed her stuff, put her in a wheelchair, pushed her out to the front of the building, and made her wait there while they called her a taxi. They would not let her stay in her room for 3 more hours for her sister or even 25 minutes for a taxi! I called and got nothing but voicemails. The only person who answered was the billing office. He said the NOMNC came through Kepro and the facility had nothing to do with it. That’s not how Traditional Medicare or Kepro work. He told me “we’re a private facility, we don’t have to follow medicare rules.” That is 100% false. He told me she was mistaken; that he told my mom 12:01 midnight, not 12:01 noon for the $880 charge (which is legal to do). I called my mom and told her this. I could hear the staff around her telling her I was a liar and he never told me that. He then got on my mom’s phone with me and denied saying that. A “patient care manager” called me back. I explained my concerns. She only stated my mom is not her case and she can send me to Nicole’s voicemail. Nicole will not be back for a week. I clearly explained I don’t need help in a week. My mom is currently sitting in a w/c being forced to take a taxi home, alone, and I need someone to help me now. I explained why she is an unsafe discharge & they are responsible for her safety & this is negligent on their part. They have an obligation to maintain her safety. Her response: “would you like me to transfer you to Nicole’s voicemail and she can call you back on Monday?” (7 days from now.) I asked who was in the building to help patients and she replied “only nurses and CNA’s here now.” What? A SNF should have a DON, assistant DON, executive director, admissions person, discharge planner, social worker. There should be more staff in a building than a couple nurses and CNAs! So, they sent my elderly mother home in a taxi who left her bags on the curb. She can’t lift them. Another reason she needed to wait for her sister to pick her up. I’m in another state. I am appalled at the financial threats & intimidation, the disregard for Medicare guidelines and the law in general, and the blatant neglect from this facility. Plus the poor quality food, the medication mismanagement, etc. If you value your health, if you do not want to be a victim of abuse and neglect, if you actually want to get the rehab, DO NOT GO TO VILLAGE HEALTH CARE
Experiencia fantástica: This place is amazing the staff bring there own family members her when they need help .That say it all
Experiencia fantástica: My step-mom was at Village Health Care for about two weeks before she passed away from cancer. We felt like the entire staff, from housekeeping, to the various levels of assistants, nurses and doctors, all the way to the office administrator, cared deeply for us and our loved one. There were challenges, yes, but not from the fault of the facility; they were communicative about the limitations of care they could provide without going onto hospice, and they provided options when Medicare would not be able to cover certain options. Our family was very involved in the last days and the staff did a great job of letting us "move in" and they were very respectful of giving us the space we needed while still being there to provide the care we couldn't do. On the morning mom did pass away, we were really touched by someone bringing by for the family a cart with some breakfast, coffee and orange juice after an exhausting night. I'm don't want to invalidate anyone who had a negative experience, but from our perspective, we experienced many individuals who deeply cared about their patients, and the patients' families, and my hat is off to them!
Experiencia negativa: They all refused to help us
Experiencia negativa: If one of your love ones get sent to village health care GET THEM OUT!!! They don’t care for people they will not give them meds and you have to remind them about meals or you don’t eat. Physical therapy is a joke no one shows up or help and the plan of physical therapy is to go on a walk for 5 min and sit on your butt for the next two day. If you are sent there for physical therapy it’s not going to happen. And if you call them for help they don’t show up until you wet your pants. At this place you starve don’t get meds get ignored and no one cares they just care about a pay check. At first look the place it’s nice but behind walls no one knows what happened to your love ones.
Experiencia fantástica: Love it they take good care of everybody
Experiencia fantástica: My brother was a patient at Village last month. He was in the process of dying. I want to thank Village Health care for their gentle, compassionate care of him and us as his relatives. My brother had constant care and concern by all members of staff. He was medicated, cleaned, and attended by many during his short stay. I will always be grateful to them for those last peaceful days. I would highly recommend this institution to those looking for a well staffed, clean, quiet place to be.
Experiencia negativa: My mother in law was admitted and by the time she left she had severe bed sores and had lost over 15 lbs I would never recommend anyone’s loved ones to be sent to this facility
Experiencia fantástica: To: Village Health, I just want to say "Thanks!!" regarding your care for my mom, Dolores. My mother thought you are nice and that was so important to me.... A special thank you to caregiver Pam who brightened my mom's day because she is kind and the other caregivers..Josh who is a PT under Terin who did a great job at keeping my mother strong and ambulating & who cares greatly about the residents...of course, the OT who faithfully encouraged my mom in exercises, such important jobs you do... I also, want to thank Leeland who followed-up with pumpkin building with ribbons (See them in the foyer). I think all of your jobs are so integral to good patient health and I again am so thankful for your specific help... Others workers that I forgot names...=:/ are the nurse in section 3 that helped my mother to go on a DAY EXCURSION by facilitating and coordinating time, help, and sincere effort of care...and Medical-Aids that were precise in giving medication and communicating well. I do ty for Jeanette, Patient Care Manager that is pleasant and provided good conversation and discharge date =:). Thank you food department...the Pot Roast was good. I love that you make resident's "choice," priority by offering a menu to choose from. Last, thank you, Gregory the Administrater and Doc. A for your listening ear... I was really grateful to take my mother out to the courtyard and Activity Room...I appreciate that the company accommodates the family visits. Great job guys... Again, thank you....the Lord Bless YOU!! Cyndi Parmenter
Experiencia negativa: Terrible care for my dad. They left him in the facility without care or services for 10 days because of an insurance error they caused. I would never send my family here again.
Experiencia negativa: Noone knows what is going on there. If someone you know gets put in the village, get them out! 1st they told my mom there was no money for pt for her. Then they said she refused pt so they couldn't charge her $450 a day instead of $190 a day. Then they moved into a room with a woman that refused to turn she TV down after 11p. My mom slept in the dining room setting at a table a few nights. Then they "forgot" to feed her a few meals. Until I found out and started calling everyone there. They wrote down everything my mom touched used or ate but can't give me, Medicare or the insurance company an itemized bill of anything. They started calling and harassing me for payment a few days after they mailed out the bill. I hadn't got it yet. Now they are charging us for 6/1-9 and 6/1-30. We made 2 payments while insurance and Medicare fight it out. When I called them about the double charges for the 1-9 and reminded them that I checked my mom out on the 9th and that she wasn't there 10th - 30th. The next week they sent us to collections. I am reporting them to everyone. Better service eating at 711 and renting a motel room. Watch them very carefully!
Experiencia negativa: A family member was there for 7 weeks When you call the main office and leave a message OR talk to someone and they say they will get your message to the person you want it NEVER happens The Billing department does not call back and then you have to pay so much extra per day because of their unwillingness to return your calls. We tried to get our relative out and we had to wait 1 extra week because the Dr had not signed the release papers so if we took our relative out then the insurance would not pay!! What a scam!! Money hungry place and no PT was given
Hello Patty! Thank you so much for taking the time to write this review. We sincerely appreciate you bringing this issue to our attention. On behalf of myself and everybody at Village Healthcare, we take client reviews very seriously. Hearing that you had issues with our communication is not the sort of feedback we want to hear from our clients. We are focused on providing excellent care and any issues are promptly addressed internally. Our patients mean a lot to us, we’d like the opportunity to learn the details of what happened and how we can improve. Please feel free to e-mail me at [email protected] Thank you, Dianna [email protected]
Experiencia fantástica: I am currently a patient care manager at Village Health Care which is a skilled nursing facility. I have worked in this post acute rehab since July of 2017, starting as a noc shift floor nurse and working my way up. I can say that Village staff are the most amazing out there. We believe in taking care of your family as if they are our own.
Experiencia fantástica: I have worked in health care for over 30 years. I am so proud to be a member of the Village team. At Village, the staff is very committed to ensuring that our patients we serve are cared for with compassion and understanding. Such a wonderful group of people.
Experiencia fantástica: I've worked here for years, I've been to a few other bldgs as an agency cna this bldg is very clean. Just like any other company you have your pros and cons. This is very clean building by far, yes we do use washcloths for pericare but all staff are well trained and love taking care of their residents! This is a great bldg to work for as a new cna, you have set schedules and they definitely work with your school schedules! Very family oriented..
Experiencia fantástica: Paige came and shaved my beard and did an excellent job. All of the staff have been very kind and capable. I did not want to come to rehab but they are taking wonderful care of me! Each day I am in here, I seem to receive more support. My Care Team, Terin, Jamie, Marissa and Heather are very patient and informative. I am very thankful for everyone that helps me and especially grateful to Josh and Mitra, who seem to manage the majority of my day to day complications!
Experiencia fantástica: My brother came to Village Health Care after spinal surgery in September 2018 and is still currently a resident. My brother is deaf and physically disabled. Although I live out-of-state, I made multiple visits each month from September through January. During my visits, I met with and observed staff in their care-giving of my brother. I have found the staff at station 2 to be professional, proficient, and caring with the people in their charge. Communication has been a particular challenge for the staff and my brother. I have found them to be diligent in trying to find ways to communicate so my brother understands what is going on. When my brother first moved in, knowing he was deaf, I appreciated the above and beyond given by Eric and James to set-up a proper bed and, also, his communication system to make him comfortable and not isolated. The first couple of days, I was greeted by the physical therapists, the nutritionist, and the activities staff to make sure that services were set up and needs were met. Within the many months of his residence, I have been in communication, as needed, by the nursing staff at station 2, as well as Heather Moody, Life Enrichment Coordinator, and Dena Daugherty, Patient Care Manager. Through their support and willingness to communicate in a timely manner, I have reduced the frequency of my visits, with full confidence that my brother is being well-cared for. I visited several different care facilities when I selected Village Health Care for my brother. That decision was based on one visit with Jenny and a good feeling about what I saw. Now that my brother has been there for nearly a year, I am more that satisfied with the decision I made. I would not hesitate to recommend Village Health Care!!
Experiencia fantástica: I have found Village Health Care to be staffed with friendly, caring, competent staff who provide top notch care. The facility is clean and smells good... which is a strong indicator to me of good care being provided. The staff are friendly and helpful. Ther residents interact freely with staff which is another indicator that they feel well cared for. I would not hesitate recommending Village Health Care for my own loved ones who are in need of extended health care as well as post acute care.
Experiencia fantástica: Great place to work! The staff works well together and provide amazing care to the patients!! Proud to be a employee here!!
Experiencia negativa: Too many people per staff ratio. Mom is left alone in a wheelchair that she cannot push herself.
Experiencia negativa: Our mom was sent to Village for "rehab". When the 20 days insurance covered was done, it was decided by them rehab wasn't going to work, and the price we had to pay went up. During the same week (5 days) of this coming to light and rushing around to find an adult care home, Mom's health deteriorated. She got a cold, then fever, and breathing became labored. When we voiced concern they finally ran tests, but night shift didn't call the doctor as they were supposed to. In the morning we found our mom disheavled, feverish, and having labored breathing. Moved her to hospital that morning. She is thankfully surviving. Village has some compassionate workers, bit it doesn't make up for poor medical care!
Experiencia fantástica: Friendly and efficient staff!!
Experiencia negativa: My sister was in the facility for a week and her robe was stolen and she never received one of her meds even though it was delivered there. No effort was done to locate her robe or meds. Would not recommend this facility
Experiencia negativa: My father is there waiting for his appt to have a TAVR done at Emanuel hospital. He's been very dissatisfied with the his care there. I just hope he makes it to Thursdays appt.
Experiencia fantástica: I did my Internship here, in order to get my CNA. I job shadowed Kimberley and she was truly amazing! This was in 2011-2012. I have to say the staff there seem to truly care about the residents. I was impressed. I learned my passion for the healthcare field by working here.
Experiencia negativa: Food is not fit for humans. I was "stored" in this place for almost a month; and yes I said stored because this is a people storage facility at best. There were times it took up to 3 hrs to get someone to help me. I once went to what they call a cafeteria, had bacon for breakfast and it was burnt black. I asked the CNA for some bacon that wasn't burnt. That's what i heard her say to the jerk who was supposed to be cooking. He gave her more bacon to give me and it was raw! To be fair, I do need to say the people who are called CNAs where, for the most part, great. I tried to talk to what they call managers they either avoided me or just told me what they thought I wanted to hear. If not for the good staff (CNAs, nurses, therapists etc) it would have been the worst month of my life.
Experiencia negativa: Terrible food! Grandma got her lunch today which was supposed to be a "tuna sandwich" but it was 2 pieces of bread with a ball of white creamy stuff in between, not even spread out and they don't give you a knife to do it yourself. The salad is also often wilted. This is not a large facility they should make food for the elderly that they themselves would eat.
Experiencia negativa: Under no circumstances DO NOT PUT A LOVED ONE HERE! These people are abusive, cruel, and have zero compassion.
Experiencia positiva: Imy wife has lived there for 6 months now. It is a clean facility and they have great workers there. They could use more workers the ones they have arey overworked They are trying to improve the food it's a work in progress. There re a lot of improvements going on and it will be beautiful when finished.
Experiencia positiva: It's a clean place to live. The people here really care about us. I've been here for 4yrs. in December. Thank you!
Experiencia fantástica: Friendly staff and a pleasant environment.
